DEAN WINCHESTER

(portrayed by: Jensen Ackles on "Supernatural")

A hat-trick for Supernatural fans. Dean Winchester, the Jensen Ackles acted character on "Supernatural" takes the top spot in the Most Entertaining Or Fascinating Character of 2010 finals.

The apocalpyse stopping, demon hunting, sharp tongued older Winchester brother fended off a steep field of contenders, including some of his own castmates, as well as... 2 Smallville contestants.

Dean beat out Superman's main squeeze, "Smallville" cutie Lois Lane (Erica Durance) by 54 votes in the end 722-668

While Lois fans might feel disappointment that they gave up a lead they had had since very early in the contest, they can also take solace in the fact they prevented a clean sweep of the podium for Supernatural. 3rd spot goes to the monotone speaking often confused angel Castiel (played by Misha Collins) from Supernatural with 478 votes. Deans baby brother Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) takes 4th spot at 459.

Oliver Queen, aka, The Green Arrow (Justin Hartley) from Smallville takes 5th spot with 357, while Crowley (Mark Sheppard) from Supernatural made a big push on the final day to jump from 11th to 6th  with a final total of 343.

The best of the non SPN vs SV crew was the often absent minded scientist Dr. Walter Bishop (John Noble) on "Fringe" with 314 votes.

The mr. know it all theoretical physicist from "The Big Bang Theory"  Dr. Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) with 291 votes grabbed 8th.

The Legen...wait for it.. Dary ladies man Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris) "How I Met Your Mother" grabbed 9th with 206, while socially awkward thief Parker (Beth Riesgraf) of "Leverage" rounds out the top 10 with 201.

Eli Wallace (David Blue) of "Stargate Universe" ginished 11th 179. Dexter Morgan (Michael C Hall) from "dexter" 12th with 152, Sam Axe (Bruce Campbell) "Burn Notice" 13th with 112, Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan) "Burn Notice" 91 and finally, Amy Farrah Fowler (Mayim Bialik) "The Big Bang Theory" rounds out the contest with 75.

JENSEN ACKLES

Dean Winchester from "Supernatural"

In a year of highs & lows for his character Dean Winchester on The CW hit "Supernatural" Jensen Ackles acting skills were tested this year.

Ackles has often shown great prowess as a comedic actor on the show, but this season more than any, his dramatic skills were tested, and he seemed to pass.... at least our fans think he did. From getting the wholly hell beat out of him by his 6'5 brother Sam, to having to play the part of Death to help out his brother, Ackles portrayed Dean more seriously this year than perhaps any other. His win over Taye Diggs from "Private Practice" of 57 votes didnt even seem possible a couple days before closing, as Diggs had a sizable lead for most of the event. But when the SPN fanbase finally caught wind their show & cast were in, they came on fast & furious & eventually overtook the top spot 1117-1060.

The totals of 1117 & 1060 were the 1st & 2nd highest vote totals in all the polls. Showing this contest was the most hotly contested of the 7.

For "Fringe" star John Noble, 3rd place in what is essentially a popularity poll can be seen as a small victory with 471 votes.

After a very strong write in campaign in the nomination round, David Blue from "Stargate Universe" probably didnt disappoint the SGU fans by coming in 4th with 275 votes. "Burn Notice" star Jeffrey Doniovan frounded out the field with 249 votes.

FINAL TOTALS
1ST - JENSEN ACKLES "SUPERNATURAL"
1117
2ND - TAYE DIGGS "PRIVATE PRACTICE"
1060
3RD - JOHN NOBLE "FRINGE"
471
4TH - DAVID BLUE "STARGATE UNIVERSE"

5TH - JEFFREY DONOVAN "BURN NOTICE" 249

ANNA TORV

Agent Olivia Dunham on "Fringe"

Anna Torv played the role this season of duo character "Olivia Dunham & "Alt-Olivia Dunham" as the real world & alternate worlds crossed paths.

It was a strenuous year for the character Olivia Dunham on Fox hit sci-fi series "Fringe. From an on again-off again romance, to being stuck in an alternate universe, to nearly being killed trying to escape. Her doppleganger extraordinaire had her own issues, from trying to act like her counterpiece in the real world & romancing a man she didnt love. It really isnt too big of a stretch for Torv to have won this considering the efforts she had to put on being this duo-character.

Anna Paquin as Sookie Stackhouse on HBO's "True Blood" gave Ms. Torv a serious run for much of the contest, but in the end just couldn't win it, falling by 102 votes 561-459.

Julianna Margulies as "Alicia Florrick" on CBS "The Good Wife" pulled down third with 302 votes.

Maggie Q as "Nikita" on the new CW show of the same name pulled off 4th place over Glenn Close as "Patty Hewes" on FX seres "Damages" with a 221-192 margain.

FINAL TOTALS
1ST - ANNA TORV "FRINGE" 561
2ND - ANNA PAQUIN "TRUE BLOOD" 459
3RD - JULIANNA MARGULIES "THE GOOD WIFE" 302
4TH - MAGGIE Q "NIKITA" 221
5TH - GLENN CLOSE "DAMAGES" 192

SUPERNATURAL

(Left to Right: Jensen Ackles & Jared Padalecki)

With the apocalypse prevented, the Winchester brothers, Sam & Dean have spent much of this season trying to get 1 of them their soul back & engaging with distant family in positive & negative ways.

The CW crushed the competition in this category. The top 2 spots go to their network. "Supernatural" beat out the Clark Kent centred "Smallville" 118 votes. This despite the two shows going toe-to-toe for most of the event. In the end, the last day & 1/2 of voting, the Metropolis fanbase seemed to lose steam & the fanbase who won a TV Guide contest earlier this year showed their online fandom again, winning here with a 894-776 score.

Fox sci-fi hit "Fringe" finished 3rd here, perhaps in an alternate world it won? With 395 votes.

The recently cancelled Syfy "Stargate Universe", the 3rd installment in the Stargate franchise started strong, but fizzled in the final couple days to finish 4th with 276 votes. Another syfy show "Warehouse 13" rounded out the list with 117 votes.

FINAL TOTALS
1ST - SUPERNATURAL 894
2ND - SMALLVILLE 776
3RD - FRINGE 395
4TH - STARGATE UNIVERSE 276
5TH - WAREHOUSE 13 - 117

THE WALKING DEAD

From out of nowhere, AMC's The Walking Dead won critical acclaim this year. The zombie apocalypse themed horror, based on graphic novels did the same in our polls, quietly moving up the ranks & eventually taking a stranglehold on victory.

Despite a back & forth fight with The CW's new cheerleader drama "Hellcats", The Walking Dead eventually won this fairly handily with a big surge in the final 2 days of voting to take it by a commanding 131 votes 405 to 284.

CBS crime drama "Hawaii Five-O", despite a slow start, finished 3rd with 234 votes.

The CW drama "Nikita" finished 4th with 189 votes. While ABC's superhero family "No Ordinary Family" finished 5th with 169 votes.

FINAL TOTALS
1ST - THE WALKING DEAD 405
2ND - HELLCATS 284
3RD - HAWAII FIVE-O 234
4TH - NIKITA 189
5TH - NO ORDINARY FAMILY 169

DEXTER

Michael C. Hall (Dexter Morgan on "Dexter")

The serial killer of serial killers killed 1 more victim this year...the competition. Michael C. Hall (along with regular supporting cast Jennifer Carpetnter, Desmond Harrington, C.S. Lee, Lauren Velez, David Zayas & guest stars Julia Stiles & Peter Weller) put on another strong performance this year as Dexter Morgan on Showtime's smash hit "Dexter".

The show won the inaugural Best Action/Drama on TV award with the narrowest margain of victory this year, 13 votes over The CW hit "The Vampire Diaries" 384-371.

CBS hit criminal drama "Criminal Minds" rounded out the top 3 with 245 votes.

"Burn Notice" the MacGyver meets A-Team action/drama from the USA network edged out ABC medical drama "Grey's Anatomy" for 4th with a 201-178 total.

There is only 1 day left for voting on the Best Of TV 2010 awards on my site.
With the People's Choice Awards done, this is the chance for some shows, who got shafted at the largest public voted awards to get a 2nd chance.

If you have not already voted...You can vote here...
http://canadagraphs.weebly.com/best-of-tv-awards-polls.html

Despite lots of attempts to cheat/sabotage people, voting has continued. With each attempt to cheat or sabotage someone has come a new security issue I have had to deal with & create a way to sidestep the cheating. While I concede SOME cheater votes may have gotten mixed into the totals, MOST (i'll even say well over 95%) were thwarted.

Unfortunately for the likes of House, Smallville & Private Practice, some of their contenders were disqualified for either blatant cheating, or being sabotaged before proper defenses were put in place. It should be noted that while House, Smallville & Private Practice candidates were caught using automated voting bots, MANY legitimate votes from these shows were also cast. unfortunately, it just took 1 jerk to ruin your chances. I apologize to those who took the effort to rally support for their shows, only to have it go for nothing. Trust me when I say, future polls will have far more advanced steps in place to prevent this from happening again.
