The Favorite Character of 2011 as voted by you the fans was.. Dean Winchester "Supernatural" (played by Jensen Ackles). The final award of the year makes Mr. Ackles a 3 award winner, and 5 total awards in 2 years winner. With best actor & favorite character awards last year under his belt going into 2011s voting, it wasnt a big shock he would win something again. Winning 3 awards however.. that shows a dominance. With the Best Sci-Fi Acot award & Sexiest Actor Award already wrapped up Jensen snagged 1 final honour by way of his on screen persona, the smart ass, world saving hunter Dean Winchester. Deans win came at the cost of a character we no longer will see in this form. Runner up "Smallville" disguised super-hero Clark Kent makes it 2 years in a row a Smallville character was runner up. 3rd went to "Lost Girl" Dr. Lauren Lewis. Its 4th place for Deans brother Sam Winchester..same place he finished in 2010. 5th place for "Supernatural" angel turned god turned nothing Castiel, he finished 3rd last year. In the next couple days I will do 1 last blog about these awards. I will talk about the voting, interesting things I noticed, I will list all the winners in 1 post, and I will also, give who I would have given the awards to if it was solely up to me. The Best Action/Drama Program of 2011 as voted by you the fans was.. Castle. This year, the ABC show Castle did something that no other show did. It won every category in its genre. While other shows dominated their genres as well, only Castle can lay claim to winning best show, best actor & best actress honours in its said genre. The crime drama about a murder mystery writer & his character inspiration for his new series of books, a homicide detective in New York City has been on the air for 4 years now & seems to only be getting stronger. The cocky, smart & smug writer, Richard Castle has faced lots of battles in his 4 yrs of unofficially fighting crimes, none more prominent however than the battle of winning over his partner, the sometimes sharp tongue & sharper witted Det. Kate Beckett. They have been shot at multiple times, pushed, punched, nearly frozen to death & even almost fed to a tiger. Yet the unlikely crime fighting duo manage to keep going. The secondary characters on the show have become stronger as well, Castles mother Martha & daughter Alexis are brilliant, bringing a level of zany & wisdom that makes Castle who he is. The other detectives in the 12th Precinct Esposito & Ryan have themselves added texture to the show. Its appeal is understandable, and it is no shock to me it won. "Castle" dominated voting in this category. Its closest competitor "Criminal Minds" was well back, nearly 300 votes back. 3rd place "House" was in 2nd for much of the voting, but slipped to 3rd on the final day. 4th place was last years Best Drama winner "Dexter". 5th was "Grey's Anatomy" who started strong, but faded 1/2 way thru voting. 6th was "Leverage" just slightly ahead of 7th place "The Mentalist". In 8th "Hawaii Five-O" beat out 9th place "CSI" by 1 vote, and rounding out the finalists was "Burn Notice"
Final Vote results Castle 732 Criminal Minds 466 House 454 Dexter 434 Grey's Anatomy 390 Leverage 313 The Mentalist 296 Hawaii Five-O 230 CSI 229 Burn Notice 217
The Best Actor in an Action/Drama of 2011 as voted by you the fans was.. Nathan Fillion - Castle. Like his co-star in the actress category, Nathan Fillion won over the fans this year as the smooth talking, smart ass, rich murder mystery drama writer who is shadowing a homicide detective for inspiration for his next series of novels. Like with many characters, it is hard to imagine anyone else now playing the part of Richard Castle. Nathan has made that character come to life for some many the way his fictional characters fictional characters seem to come to life to his fans on the show thru his fictional characters writing. Nathan won fairly handily. His runner up "House" star Hugh Laurie did close the gap in the final days, but still came up well short. Further back in 3rd was "Game Of Thrones" star Sean Bean, narrowly beating 4th place "Once Upon A Time" star Robert Carlyle. 5th place for "Criminal Minds" Matthew Gray Gubler, 6th was "Game Of Thrones" star Peter Dinklage, 7th went to another "Criminal Minds" star Shemar Moore, beating out the 3rd "Criminal Minds" star Thomas Gibson. 9th was "Burn Notice" star Jeffrey Donova, rounding out the finalists was last years Best Actor runner up "Private Practice" star Taye Diggs. This category was the only category The Big Bang Theory didnt win in the comedy genre. Final vote results Nathan Fillion "Castle" 754 Hugh Laurie "House" 612 Sean Bean "Game Of Thrones" 353 Robert Carlyle "Once Upon A Time" 336 Matthew Gray Gubler "Criminal Minds" 317 Peter Dinklage "Game Of Thrones" 289 Shemar Moore "Criminal Minds" 269 Thomas Gibson "Criminal Minds" 211 Jeffrey Donovan "Burn Notice" 192 Taye Diggs "Private Practice" 131
The Best Actress in a Action/Drama of 2011 as voted by you the fans was.. Stana Katic - Castle. A year & a bit ago I had never heard of Stana Katic. I had barely heard of "Castle", the show she co-stars on. But, after 2 years of seeing write in votes & nominations for the her in a variety of cateogires, my eyes are open to the show and its main stars now. I started watching the homicide centred drama this year & like many of you that voted, loved it too. Katic's performance as Det. Kate Beckett is certainly worthy of this praise. Stana won handily, but earily on, she had resistence from a couple competitors, mainly from the eventual distant runnerup "Once Upon A Time" star Jennifer Morrison. Immediately behind her in 3rd was early on leader "Game Of Thrones" star Lena Headey. 4th & 5th were a pair of "Criminal Minds" actresses A.J. Cook & Paget Brewster. 6th was another "Once Upon A Time" actress Ginnifer Goodwin, back in 7th was the young "Game Of Thrones" star Maisie Williams, just narrowly beating out 8th place "Once Upon A Time" actress Lana Parrilla. 9th was "Burn Notice" actress Sharon Gless, and rounding out the finalists was "Revenge" star Emily VanCamp. All three from the top 3 had at one point held the lead. Final vote results Stana Katic "Castle" 655 Jennifer Morrison "Once Upon A Time" 404 Lena Headey "Game Of Thrones" 394 A.J. Cook "Criminal MInds" 331 Paget Brewster "Criminal Minds" 322 Ginnifer Goodwin "Once Upon A Time" 291 Maisie Williams "Game Of Thrones" 221 Lana Parrilla "Once Upon A Time" 216 Sharon Gless "Burn Notice" 201 Emily VanCamp "Revenge" 172

DEAN WINCHESTER
(portrayed by: Jensen Ackles on "Supernatural") A hat-trick for Supernatural fans. Dean Winchester, the Jensen Ackles acted character on "Supernatural" takes the top spot in the Most Entertaining Or Fascinating Character of 2010 finals.
The apocalpyse stopping, demon hunting, sharp tongued older Winchester brother fended off a steep field of contenders, including some of his own castmates, as well as... 2 Smallville contestants.
Dean beat out Superman's main squeeze, "Smallville" cutie Lois Lane (Erica Durance) by 54 votes in the end 722-668
While Lois fans might feel disappointment that they gave up a lead they had had since very early in the contest, they can also take solace in the fact they prevented a clean sweep of the podium for Supernatural. 3rd spot goes to the monotone speaking often confused angel Castiel (played by Misha Collins) from Supernatural with 478 votes. Deans baby brother Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) takes 4th spot at 459.
Oliver Queen, aka, The Green Arrow (Justin Hartley) from Smallville takes 5th spot with 357, while Crowley (Mark Sheppard) from Supernatural made a big push on the final day to jump from 11th to 6th with a final total of 343.
The best of the non SPN vs SV crew was the often absent minded scientist Dr. Walter Bishop (John Noble) on "Fringe" with 314 votes.
The mr. know it all theoretical physicist from "The Big Bang Theory" Dr. Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) with 291 votes grabbed 8th.
The Legen...wait for it.. Dary ladies man Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris) "How I Met Your Mother" grabbed 9th with 206, while socially awkward thief Parker (Beth Riesgraf) of "Leverage" rounds out the top 10 with 201.
Eli Wallace (David Blue) of "Stargate Universe" ginished 11th 179. Dexter Morgan (Michael C Hall) from "dexter" 12th with 152, Sam Axe (Bruce Campbell) "Burn Notice" 13th with 112, Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan) "Burn Notice" 91 and finally, Amy Farrah Fowler (Mayim Bialik) "The Big Bang Theory" rounds out the contest with 75.
FINAL TOTALS 1ST - DEAN WINCHESTER 722 2ND - LOIS LANE 668 3RD- CASTIEL 478 4TH - SAM WINCHESTER 459 5TH - OLIVER QUEEN/GREEN ARROW 357 6TH - CROWLEY 343 7TH - DR. WALTER BISHOP 314 8TH - DR. JENSEN ACKLES
Dean Winchester from "Supernatural"
In a year of highs & lows for his character Dean Winchester on The CW hit "Supernatural" Jensen Ackles acting skills were tested this year.
Ackles has often shown great prowess as a comedic actor on the show, but this season more than any, his dramatic skills were tested, and he seemed to pass.... at least our fans think he did. From getting the wholly hell beat out of him by his 6'5 brother Sam, to having to play the part of Death to help out his brother, Ackles portrayed Dean more seriously this year than perhaps any other. His win over Taye Diggs from "Private Practice" of 57 votes didnt even seem possible a couple days before closing, as Diggs had a sizable lead for most of the event. But when the SPN fanbase finally caught wind their show & cast were in, they came on fast & furious & eventually overtook the top spot 1117-1060.
The totals of 1117 & 1060 were the 1st & 2nd highest vote totals in all the polls. Showing this contest was the most hotly contested of the 7.
For "Fringe" star John Noble, 3rd place in what is essentially a popularity poll can be seen as a small victory with 471 votes.
After a very strong write in campaign in the nomination round, David Blue from "Stargate Universe" probably didnt disappoint the SGU fans by coming in 4th with 275 votes. "Burn Notice" star Jeffrey Doniovan frounded out the field with 249 votes.
FINAL TOTALS 1ST - JENSEN ACKLES "SUPERNATURAL" 1117 2ND - TAYE DIGGS "PRIVATE PRACTICE" 1060 3RD - JOHN NOBLE "FRINGE" 471 4TH - DAVID BLUE "STARGATE UNIVERSE" 275 5TH - JEFFREY DONOVAN "BURN NOTICE" 249
DEXTER
Michael C. Hall (Dexter Morgan on "Dexter") The serial killer of serial killers killed 1 more victim this year...the competition. Michael C. Hall (along with regular supporting cast Jennifer Carpetnter, Desmond Harrington, C.S. Lee, Lauren Velez, David Zayas & guest stars Julia Stiles & Peter Weller) put on another strong performance this year as Dexter Morgan on Showtime's smash hit "Dexter".
The show won the inaugural Best Action/Drama on TV award with the narrowest margain of victory this year, 13 votes over The CW hit "The Vampire Diaries" 384-371.
CBS hit criminal drama "Criminal Minds" rounded out the top 3 with 245 votes.
"Burn Notice" the MacGyver meets A-Team action/drama from the USA network edged out ABC medical drama "Grey's Anatomy" for 4th with a 201-178 total.
FINAL TOTALS 1ST - DEXTER 384 2ND - THE VAMPIRE DIARIES 371 3RD - CRIMINAL MINDS 245 4TH - BURN NOTICE 201 5TH - GREY'S ANATOMY 178
There is only 1 day left for voting on the Best Of TV 2010 awards on my site. With the People's Choice Awards done, this is the chance for some shows, who got shafted at the largest public voted awards to get a 2nd chance. If you have not already voted...You can vote here... http://canadagraphs.weebly.com/best-of-tv-awards-polls.htmlDespite lots of attempts to cheat/sabotage people, voting has continued. With each attempt to cheat or sabotage someone has come a new security issue I have had to deal with & create a way to sidestep the cheating. While I concede SOME cheater votes may have gotten mixed into the totals, MOST (i'll even say well over 95%) were thwarted. Unfortunately for the likes of House, Smallville & Private Practice, some of their contenders were disqualified for either blatant cheating, or being sabotaged before proper defenses were put in place. It should be noted that while House, Smallville & Private Practice candidates were caught using automated voting bots, MANY legitimate votes from these shows were also cast. unfortunately, it just took 1 jerk to ruin your chances. I apologize to those who took the effort to rally support for their shows, only to have it go for nothing. Trust me when I say, future polls will have far more advanced steps in place to prevent this from happening again. With that aside....with 1 day left of voting....here are the current results.
