The Best Action/Drama Program of 2011 as voted by you the fans was.. Castle.

This year, the ABC show Castle did something that no other show did. It won every category in its genre. While other shows dominated their genres as well, only Castle can lay claim to winning best show, best actor & best actress honours in its said genre. The crime drama about a murder mystery writer & his character inspiration for his new series of books, a homicide detective in New York City has been on the air for 4 years now & seems to only be getting stronger. The cocky, smart & smug writer, Richard Castle has faced lots of battles in his 4 yrs of unofficially fighting crimes, none more prominent however than the battle of winning over his partner, the sometimes sharp tongue & sharper witted Det. Kate Beckett. They have been shot at multiple times, pushed, punched, nearly frozen to death & even almost fed to a tiger. Yet the unlikely crime fighting duo manage to keep going. The secondary characters on the show have become stronger as well, Castles mother Martha & daughter Alexis are brilliant, bringing a level of zany & wisdom that makes Castle who he is. The other detectives in the 12th Precinct Esposito & Ryan have themselves added texture to the show. Its appeal is understandable, and it is no shock to me it won.

"Castle" dominated voting in this category. Its closest competitor "Criminal Minds" was well back, nearly 300 votes back. 3rd place "House" was in 2nd for much of the voting, but slipped to 3rd on the final day. 4th place was last years Best Drama winner "Dexter". 5th was "Grey's Anatomy" who started strong, but faded 1/2 way thru voting. 6th was "Leverage" just slightly ahead of 7th place "The Mentalist". In 8th "Hawaii Five-O" beat out 9th place "CSI" by 1 vote, and rounding out the finalists was "Burn Notice"

The Best Non-human Character Or Prop of 2011 as voted by you is so known by its fans that, its absence from most of this current season has been a frustration and a topic of conversation amongst its fans daily. The winner is, The 1967 Impala from Supernatural.

Born on April 24, 1967, As the prophet Chuck would tell the fans of Supernatural in episode 22 of season 5, "no one gave 2 craps about her, but they should have... because this 1967 Chevrolet Impala would turn out to be the most important car, no, most important object in pretty much the whole universe". Although the official ride of the paranormal hunters extraordinairre Sam & Dean Winchester has been mainly AWOL this season, many fans still love it more than many things in their own lives.

The Impala destroyed the challengers in the final, more than doubling its runner up, Gene, the cow from Fringe. Back in 3rd place was Dexter Morgan's knife from Dexter, the Doomsday Machine from Fringe was 4th, and Annies Boobs, the cleverly named monkey from Community was 5th.

Final vote results
THE IMPALA - Supernatural 864
GENE - Fringe 344
DEXTER'S KNIFE - Dexter 265
DOOMSDAY MACHINE - Fringe 216
ANNIES BOOBS - Community 200

Last year we had the 2010 Best Of TV Awards, the inagural awards here for it. It was responsible for almost 100,000 votes last year.

Winners were selected in 7 categories lasst year- http://canadagraphs.weebly.com/best-of-tv-awards-polls.html

This year, we have even more categories.
To nominate someone, something or a show in its proper category...you must contact us thru 1 of these 3 ways..
1- THIS BLOG POST (not other posts or the contact section),
2- Or on our official  facebook fan page http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/canadagraphsweeblycom/101034953308978
3- Thru twitter by at messaging me at @Canadagraphs or @Canadagraphs2 w hashtag #BOTVA2011

The rules.
Rule 1-
ALL Nominations must be based ONLY on work of episodes that aired for the first time in 2011 prior to October 25th, 2011 (except for new shows- up to Nov. 15th permitted).
Rule 2- You can nominate at all available outlets (facebook, twitter or here) if you so choose to.
Rule 3- Sci-fi category covers anything dealing primarily with paranormal based shows. Regardless if its a comedy or a drama, if its paranormal based...its Sci-fi. This will dissolve the frustrating "Vampire Diaries/True Blood isnt a sci-fi, its a drama" argument of last year. TVD/TB is a sci-fi show, and thus its show & actors will compete in those categories.
Rule 4- You do NOT have to vote in every category...but you must vote in at least 3 for your nominations to count.
Rule 5- you can nominate up to 3 in each category... if you want to nominate more than 3, remember, you can nominate thru twitter, facebook and here.
Rules for each category...

Nominations for best actors/actresses - Must be in at least 8 episodes on the specific show they are being nominated for, in 2011. New show actor/actresses that have yet to meet this requirement can be nominated if they are proven to be regulars and will have more than 8 episodes on that show before the season is scheduled to end.

This category covers anything including... animals, vehicles, electronic devices, weapons, and any other things that are not human that you think may be relevant to a story.
Favorite quote - Must name the actor or character that said it, epi # or title & the program name (so that I can look it up easier to verify its legitimacy) that took place in 2011.

DEAN WINCHESTER

(portrayed by: Jensen Ackles on "Supernatural")

A hat-trick for Supernatural fans. Dean Winchester, the Jensen Ackles acted character on "Supernatural" takes the top spot in the Most Entertaining Or Fascinating Character of 2010 finals.

The apocalpyse stopping, demon hunting, sharp tongued older Winchester brother fended off a steep field of contenders, including some of his own castmates, as well as... 2 Smallville contestants.

Dean beat out Superman's main squeeze, "Smallville" cutie Lois Lane (Erica Durance) by 54 votes in the end 722-668

While Lois fans might feel disappointment that they gave up a lead they had had since very early in the contest, they can also take solace in the fact they prevented a clean sweep of the podium for Supernatural. 3rd spot goes to the monotone speaking often confused angel Castiel (played by Misha Collins) from Supernatural with 478 votes. Deans baby brother Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) takes 4th spot at 459.

Oliver Queen, aka, The Green Arrow (Justin Hartley) from Smallville takes 5th spot with 357, while Crowley (Mark Sheppard) from Supernatural made a big push on the final day to jump from 11th to 6th  with a final total of 343.

The best of the non SPN vs SV crew was the often absent minded scientist Dr. Walter Bishop (John Noble) on "Fringe" with 314 votes.

The mr. know it all theoretical physicist from "The Big Bang Theory"  Dr. Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) with 291 votes grabbed 8th.

The Legen...wait for it.. Dary ladies man Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris) "How I Met Your Mother" grabbed 9th with 206, while socially awkward thief Parker (Beth Riesgraf) of "Leverage" rounds out the top 10 with 201.

Eli Wallace (David Blue) of "Stargate Universe" ginished 11th 179. Dexter Morgan (Michael C Hall) from "dexter" 12th with 152, Sam Axe (Bruce Campbell) "Burn Notice" 13th with 112, Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan) "Burn Notice" 91 and finally, Amy Farrah Fowler (Mayim Bialik) "The Big Bang Theory" rounds out the contest with 75.

There is only 1 day left for voting on the Best Of TV 2010 awards on my site.
With the People's Choice Awards done, this is the chance for some shows, who got shafted at the largest public voted awards to get a 2nd chance.

If you have not already voted...You can vote here...
http://canadagraphs.weebly.com/best-of-tv-awards-polls.html

Despite lots of attempts to cheat/sabotage people, voting has continued. With each attempt to cheat or sabotage someone has come a new security issue I have had to deal with & create a way to sidestep the cheating. While I concede SOME cheater votes may have gotten mixed into the totals, MOST (i'll even say well over 95%) were thwarted.

Unfortunately for the likes of House, Smallville & Private Practice, some of their contenders were disqualified for either blatant cheating, or being sabotaged before proper defenses were put in place. It should be noted that while House, Smallville & Private Practice candidates were caught using automated voting bots, MANY legitimate votes from these shows were also cast. unfortunately, it just took 1 jerk to ruin your chances. I apologize to those who took the effort to rally support for their shows, only to have it go for nothing. Trust me when I say, future polls will have far more advanced steps in place to prevent this from happening again.

With that aside....with 1 day left of voting....here are the current results.

Here are a few pics from the TIFF premiere, and after party for the movie "Peep World"

It stars Dexter star, Michael C. Hall, Sarah Silverman (who I somehow never got any pics of, sorry) and Judy Greer.

Hall made my Best celebrity encounters list after this years film festival with his terrific signing habits, and willingness to talk with people who werent even with the media on topics such as the film, the filming of Dexter and other things.

After the Gala premiere of "Peep World" (Starring Michael C. Hall (Dexter Morgan - "Dexter", Sarah Silverman & Rainn Wilson (Dwight K Schrute- "The Office") at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival, I caught up with Michael at his after party for the movie.

Between interviews by accredited media, he slipped in a few words on what he thought if his film. Such a class act the entire festival.

Day 7 was a short one for me. It was also a great one for me, despite moderate numbers.

I didnt start till late afternoon, as I got into Toronto around 4 PM & instantly went over to Roy Thompson Hall to get set for the premire for Peep World. It was the biggest event on the entire schedule for me, as it had my top priority of film fest, Michael C. Hall.

Michael was the first person to show up. I eagerly hurried into the swarm to get him, just to assure I was going to get at least 1 from my main target. I soon had 1 & had a 2nd shortly after. A bit of a lull after that before I got my 3rd, which included a near fight with old people of all things. Some older woman was getting mad at another hound for being in front of her & she actually punched him in the back. Me reaching around her seemed to be her last sstraw & she elbowed me multiple times to move back. Now I have been in countless scrums & 1 of the reasons I dont seem to get as much as some is because I usually am a little too respectful of people...so when someone is giving ME grief, they are actually being unreasonable I would say. Its a scrum envirinment, dont go into it if you arent expecting to be in a condensed space & perhaps jostled a little. This lady seemed to be under some impression she was entitled to a couple square metres of space. The elbowing continued, my persistence then elevated to compensate for her aggressiveness brought in her husband who made the foolish mistake of grabbing my by my jacket. I gave him 1 good hard shove off, he pushed back & I walked away as frankly, I was far more focused on autographs than hospitalizing an old person because his wife is a fucking dumbass.

As I went to go reposition myself a few metres down security came over to me (of course, the younger, larger, professional hound MUST be at fault here) and wanted me to walk over & have a few words with him. I declined his invite & continued into the crowd. I told him, if he wants to talk, go ahead. I was very willing to debate everything that just happened, but I wasnt going to lose out because of it. Instead, he just gave up. After the scrum ended, where I eventually got 4 more Halls, and a few words out of him about the upcoming season of Dexter that he is filming. I went over to the same guard, I apologized to him for having to deal with it, explained my side & went on my way. I still dont think he bought my side of it..although he word for word stated exactly what I said as well (with the exception of the continual elbowing), except making it sound like I somehow insitgated it.

With 6 Hall autographs in my possession it was pretty tough for my day to be bad.

Shortly after his co-star, the cutie comedienne Sarah Silverman showed up & I was able to quickly get thru the 3 items I had for her, and even helped out another hound get 1 of his giving me a total of 4 autographs on the evening from her.

From there I headed over to a premiere across town for Ryan Gosling. Once there I heard news of an after party for Michael C. Hall's film, and I soon decided to abandon the Gosling premiere, as I really wanted a photo with Dexter Morgan.

Arriving at the party early I sat around behimd where the roped off area was, till just before the first star showed up. Judy Greer, who also is in Peep World showed up first. She was pleasant & friendly, and even posed for a photo out on the street before getting to the red carpet set up at the party. Across the street we noticed another party going on, it was for a movie that had Jennifer Connolly, Ed Harris, Amy Madigan & Yeardley Smith. Smith showed up & we hurried across the street, others got autographs, but I squeezed in to get a photo with. Besides being Lisa Simpson, I am a fan of hers, because she was a character on my favorite show Dead Like Me for an episode or two.
Immediately back across the street we went & a few minutes later Michael C. Hall showed up. He was patient & friendly, signing for everyone & doing photos with anyone who asked, including myself.

I instantly headed back to RTH for the night premiere of a movie with Malin Akerman & Ryan Phillippe. Once I got there I found out both stars were already done signing & neither signed much. I SHOULD have just called it a night, or headed back to the Connolly party, but I foolishly waited around for Akerman leaving & was shut out.

My night ended poorly, but the evening went so well I called the day a success. Afterall I got 6 autographs from my top priority of film fest, and a photo with.

A+ MICHAEL C. HALL
A Sarah Silverman
A Yeardley Smith
A Judy Greer
C- Malin Akerman
C- Ryan Philippe

10 autographs for the day & 2 photos with.
