FINAL WARNING

You have seen the pics of "the kiss"... but they obviously had to do several takes to work up to that.... here is 1 of them.

this was not the full scene, as the crew eventually asked us to stop taping it when they got closer to the full scene. This was merely 1 of the rehearsal takes as they worked on their timing to do do the scene in 1 effortless motion.

In this take Olivia walks across a street & Peter comes running at her from out of the shadows.... he then proceeds to pick her up & spin her around.... in later takes, they would also add in the kiss scene to this rehearsal before eventually doing the whole scene.

This scene was filmed on the coldest day of the year, with temperatures reaching -17C... and you thought being an actor was all fun & games.

I promised all of you more photos from the scenes back in December that I shot on the coldest day of the year of Peter Bishop (Josh Jackson) & Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) doing a kissing scene for episode 15 "A Shortr Story About Love".

Of course, for those of you up to date on the show this scene might seem more of a dream sequence now than a real time sequence that all of you hoped for when I posted the first batch of photos back then with the way the recent episode panned out.

Below is a few of the pics from that night... like I said, none were terribly "great" but you all get the idea.

I originally promised to hold off on posting these photos till the week of the episode, but was strongly considering posting them earlier after discussing the situation that unfolded around me holding them back with others. the point that was most often brought up and I agree with is... the people begging me not to post them because they "abhor spoilers" are hypocritical in saying that.... as they themselves SAW the spoiler...and then bragged about it on a public forum. Why should those people unable to be there on that night miss the chance to see what the fans saw that night before the episode airs?

That is in the past, what matters now is... figuring out what context these images are from... real life, or a fantasy?

Coming soon..... a video of 1 of their practice takes.

FINAL WARNING

So last Wednesday night I made the short 10 minute walk down to Gastown to watch a verrrrrry spoilery scene for the show Fringe.

On the film notice they gave local residents & businesses to warn them of the filming, they added a piece of info that made more people than usual want to come out & see the scene. The scene speicifically called for "2 main actors to kiss". Of course the addition of "main actors" was notable, as it meant it was going to be out of the core 7 regulars Josh, Anna, Seth, John, Jasika, Blair or Lance. Of course the vast majority of people had narrowed it down to 2 probable couples. Joshua & Anna, or Seth & Anna. Of course, almost every person that came to that decision was hoping the couple would be Josh & Anna.

I went down earlier in the afternoon to see what I could see for them setting up the scene & hopefully catch them filming somewhere else close by, which is often the case. Today was sadly not 1 of those cases, as they spent the 1st part of the day in studio. To make this worse, Wednesday was the coldest day this winter, with the temperature dipping into the double digits below freezing. Even more random, it was colder in the middle of the afternoon, than it was later that evening once it was dark when the scene was shot.

I came back around 6 PM & the final touches were being done on prepping the area for the scene. I assumed they were going to be filming on 1 corner, as it turned out, the scene was actuallly on the street directly across from this...which made a couple things problematic. 1, we would be quite far away from the actual scene being shot...and 2, Could not just sit inside 1 of the several restaraunts/stores to stay warm and still see what was going on.

Eventually they started the filming. At first, only 1 main actor was seen. It was Anna Torv (Agent Olivia Dunham) in her "our world" look. She drives a car up, parks it, gets out & starts walking down a street. Nothing overly special. Certainly not the big spoilery scene advertised. I joked with another regular of film shoots that it seemed strange they hadadded  that part on the film list as it wasnt needed, and she joked the fans were going to be mad when they dont actually film that scene.

Eventually they finished that take & moved equipment around to set up for the next angle of the scene. While they did that, I noticed the second actor that was going to be needed for the scene. Joshua Jackson was on set, hanging around in the frigid conditions chatting with crew & seeming unfaszed by the considerably chilly conditions by Vancouver standards. He was talking with everyone, hugging people, giving out kisses to female crew members, it was as if he hadnt been there for a year. Him & Anna shared a few laughs along with 3 or 4 other crew all huddled about in the middle of the street, then a call to start the scene was made and everyone took off for their positions.

The 1st take was Olivia walking down the street as before, then Peter comes towards her out of nowhere & they run up to each other, Peter grabs her and spins her around with 1 arm. No kiss. Clearly just a practice run for the later shot. After that take the crew did final adjustments, while Josh took off from the set. I tried to get his autograph as he hurried away & he said "I'm coming right back, I just have to move my car" and he wasnt joking... he literally had to go & move his car. A few minutes later he was back on set & ready to shoot again.

They did a couple more takes of Peter grabbing her & spinning her around, but still never seemed to be a kiss. We were then asked by crew to not photograph anything & of course everyone for the mostpart did as asked, the occasional newcomer to the crowd would not obey, and eventually they crew just gave up asking people again.

During another long break while they changed camera angles, I managed to get Joshua to sign a few autographs. He stopped to do photos with some fans & autographs for others.

As more & more takes took place, the scene became more & more passionate. First it was just a grab & spin her around, then it was grabbing her, holding her closely, spinning her around & gazing at each other... then eventually, they added a kiss... then it turned into a long kiss.

Shortly after 1 of the set of takes, I got Anna to sign some autographs for me, and with MY part of the mission completed... I opted to go home as I was starting to feel the cold a lot more than I did 3 hrs earlier when I 1st got there.

If there was more to the scene afterwards I didnt see. It was too cold to wait it out all night... although by the time I left, they had less than 2 hrs of filming time left, so there probably was not much mo Below is some of the pics from my shoot. I wish I had my old camera. Although it still wouldnt have been perfect from that distance, they would have been a little less grainy/fuzzy.

As I said to some of you, I would post a a couple of the pics from the main moments of the scene, but not the best ones. So, that is whats here... a couple pics so you can SORTA see what happened. For pics that are better, you will just have to check back the week of the episode. I'll post more from this scene then.

Also, dont forget to vote for Peter & Olivia in the "Best Of TV Polls" going on RIGHT NOW! Some polls have already wrapped, more wrap today, including best couple. Others like best actor/actress in a sci-fi & best sci-fi show wrap later this week.
