I was just directed to a 50something reply thread on an Adam Lambert fan site (http://www.adamofficial.com/node/345561) griping about my criticism of him, as if it were them personally I chastized.
These fans suggest "I" am the crazy one here. Because I gave my first hand account of things. They also, like many I have come across in the past with other celebs, have severe reading comprehension problems. They seem to take only PARTS of a comment & run with it in their rantings. Instead of pointing out the entire comment, which would minimize or counteract the point they chose to argue completely.
My favorite part might be the fact that so many of them read this blog, and griped at me for disliking him....THINKING I'M A FAN. I do recall stating pretty early in my blog I wasnt a fan. Others asked "if your not a fan, why be there". Which seems to be lost on the fact its business. I dont CHOOSE who becomes a big ticket celeb. I just go for them. Sadly the pre-teen girl demographic seems to have a stranglehold on the marketplace right now & thusly a reality TV program is popular.
It was even funnier that the link to my blog was removed because it was "too negative" for some to handle/accept. This group is so terrified of an alternate opinion of their fave celebrity they will delete stuff that might not be positive. Instead of debating it rationally or *GASP* seeing the authors point of view on some details, they opt to go all out psycho fan crazy attack. Nothing I say could ever be right in these lunatics minds. All because I criticized Adams business acumen.
Adam made a bad decision, and he is being held publicly accountable. Its not like I blogged about his poor judgement to boost my autograph sales for American Idol merchandize as SOME in the thread suggested.....afterall I was contracted out for this job & had nothing of my own to get signed. The blog was purely for the purpose of making Adam & more importantly the American Idol bigwigs aware that their actions matter when they are dealing with fans. Adam is only partially at fault for the debacle here. It was MORE the fault of the staff/lackeys he had. But few of his fans have felt the need to point a finger at them for the blame, instead they opt to try & clear Adams name...even though it might not have needed clearing if his lackey wasnt such a bitch & the AI corporation didnt hire such unsuited for the job people.
People griped that I am only saying this "because he didnt get an autograph to sell" etc. Not true. I am saying this because I am trying to make someone accountable for their actions. I want Adam to realize that if he wants a successful career, he has to STOP listening to little $9 hr minions whose only role SHOULD be to guide him from point a to point b & start making decisions FOR HIMSELF. The fact I stated that I have heard he can be a nice guy seemed to be completely ignored by the masses, Only the negative was focussed on....which as someone that generally is seen as a negative person, is not right. Even I pointed out the positives, like how he signed 3 at once for someone inside (a professional). But these blinder wearing fanaticals didnt even give the same courtesy in their criticism of my viewpoint.
It should also be noted that not a single one of them felt Adam was wrong to ignore the same fans he told he would be back to meet on his way out to the signing. If they at the very least took that point & understood the level of annoyance I have at the fiasco, I probably would be more understanding of the rest of their criticism of it...but not even ONE of them felt what Adam did was classless. It wasnt just me he jilted, it was the entire 4-6 people in that front corner... including true fans.
I am no stranger to criticism. Those of you who battled with me on the IMDB boards over a certain Twilight star know I take criticism quite well, and am willing to apologize when/if the same star makes an effort to change my mind. But these people. They are certified nuts. They are so afraid of ANY differing opinion to the kool-aid drinking cult like philosophy that Adam is infallable that they will delete links to a mere blog post suggesting that their star was not a good representative of his show or his own career once. Its fine to defend him with the typical "maybe he had a bad day" or the even more understandable & agreeable "The staff are to blame". But to lay no blame at his feet for this, to chastize someone for having a viewpoint different than yours & not once go "you know...he does raise a couple valid points" is absurd & beyond any level of common sense.
I hate American Idol. I have never liked it & cant even moderately tolerate it.
After reading how their fans are....I can see I made the right decision. Because if I EVER were to start acting like these people, I would hope something would put me out of my misery quick, because that level of stupidity should be eliminated.
