Yesterday Ithe Fringe film set in downtown Vancouver. After waiting around for a couple hours, my friends & I managed to get John Noble to sign a few items & later on I got a photo with him. Unfortunately, we missed Joshua Jackson& Anna Torv. To me, it wasnt such a big deal...because I knew those two were going to have to get by me today at the airport. They were all scheduled to be at Comic-Con today in San Diego, California. That meant, an early morning flight. With only 1 morning flight to SD, the choices were a bit obvious which flight they were taking.
I got to the airport just a shade before 6 AM & saw no one else there yet. Only a few minutes after I was there I saw a member of Smallville, but I didnt know who it was, since I am not familiar with that show....but more on that when I do a Smallville cast blog later.
My friends showed up shortly after and we started looking for anyone from the shows we knew were heading out. It didnt take long for things to pick up.
First up. JOSHUA JACKSON & JOHN NOBLE. The pair seemed to come together, or their timing at walking into the airport beside each other was incredibly coincidental. The group, including myself focused on jackson, especially since most of us had just got Noble yesterday.
Joshua went to the automated check in machine, while Noble seemingly vanished on us while our radar was honed in on Mr. Jackson. After he was done with the machine, I asked him if he had time for an autograph & he replied "sure, let me just get my ticket first". Apparently there must have been some issue with his ticket & the machine. After what seemed like an incredibly long wait of hims tanding in line, then incredibly long wait of getting his ticket. A wait so long, the others were convinced he wouldnt be coming back over the 50 feet to where we were all originally waiting when I asked him, so they moved into positions they thought would give them a better chance to get him when he beelined for the flights. But Joshua didnt let us down. He walked right back over to where I was now the only person left standing, and started to sign. The rest rushed over hurridly to get him as well. he chatted breifly, I asked him if it was his first comic-con, he said no, it will be his 3rd. He said he liked being back in Vancouver and then he vanished behind the gates & left. While all that was going on, John Noble snuck thru as well, as we just caught the back of him going thru the gates. However, I did manage to catch the back of him in 1 of my photos where him & Joshua were both using the ticket machines at the same time.
Unbeknownst to me, or any other hounds there. Jasika Nicole, who was on no ones list to be down there was also at the airport checking in to the same flight. I didnt bring my stuff for her. But did manage a few pics. At that point we started to wonder if the whole cast was going, since this previously unscheduled member was going. So my friend asked if, and she replied "no, just the 4 of us". In reference to Joshua, John, herself....and Anna Torv. Who at that point we had never seen.
Some while later would go by, when t would be discovered thru one of the autograph hounds talking with a paparrazzi, that she had gone thru super early & I either just missed her, or managed to not see her in the incredibly massive glut of people who seem to leave in the morning (I have never seen the place so busy as it was from 6-8 AM).
So I expected to see 3 cast members of Fringe today.....and I did. Just 1 of them wasnt expected & I never saw 1 of the ones I did expect to see.
Here are a couple pictures from todays encounters. A little later, I may post my video where John Noble talks about comic-con & the new promotional materials for season 2 of Fringe.
