Because of the timing of round 1 (a necessity to assure the awards are done in January), many shows "mid-season" finale episodes don't make the cut for the opening vote. This was a problem that 2 years ago I asked the voters if they thought a run off vote should happen for episodes that aired after a specific date. The majority voted yes, but I had set a 60% mark as the requirement to add this vote in & it fell just short. Then last year, I asked the question again & got over 70%. So it was implemented.
This year, the vote took place with a couple small adjustments. I extended the date a bit to try & get as many late year episodes as possible. I also made the amount qualifying to the semi-finals quite a few more.
Like last years, there was also a maximum amount of qualifiers I would allow from a show, 2. This year, that maximum was MUCH more needed, as 3 different shows would have nearly had the entire top 10 list of episodes and the entire top 10 list of guest stars.
For that reason, both categories had a couple lower ranked vote getters qualify while top 5 choices are not moving on.
So here are the qualifiers for both categories.
