While the show does have 1 finalist in Curtis Armstrong, it seems like he will certainly have some serious competition this year from others on other shows. A bit of a shocker to me, Bradley James from iZombie led voting in the semi-finals. Ian Anthony Dale from "Hawaii Five-0" was tied for 2nd with Armstrong. Winston Duke from "Person of Interest" a 5th place Guest Star finalist last year, finds himself in the hunt for the Recurring honour this year. Noah Wyle, John Noble, Joshua Jackson and Jon Hamm all find themselves competing in this category this year, all previously were finalists in the main actor categories for completely different shows, in the past. The Best Recurring Actress Category finalists had another minor upset (to me at least) in the semi-finals. Ann Mahoney from "The Walking Dead" a non-factor in round 1 voting where she finished 32nd, led voting this round. Felicia Day from "Supernatural" , the 2013 Winner of this award was 2nd. Alycia Debnam-Carey will have two spots in the finals, one for "The 100" & one for "Fear The Walking Dead". Michelle Borth of "Hawaii Five-0" makes the finals as a Recurring actress this year, after missing out on the finals in the Best Action/Drama Actress category last year. Camren Mannheim led 3 "Person Of Interest" actresses into the finals, along with cara Buono and Annie Ilonzeh. Ksenia Solo, a finalist last year in this category for "Lost Girl" is back with her work on "Orphan Black". Katrina Law, a finalist in this category last year, and caity Lotz, a finalist in the Best Sci-fi/Fantasy Actress category last year represent "Arrow" in the finals this year here. Rachel Nichols "Continuum" makes the finals one last time for her work on the show in its final season, this time in the Recurring category. The Best Guest Star Category was led by the Winner of the Best Action/Drama Actress category last year. Emily Bett Rickards "The Flash" led voting for the same cahracter that won her the most notable actress award last year, this time on a different show. She was also a finalist last year in this category for this very role, finishing 6th. Taraji P. Henson "Person Of Interest" is a finalist for her work with the character that got her a finalist nod in 2013 in the Best Action/Drama Actress field. Travis Aaron Wade, a finalist for Recurring Actor last year is back in the finals as a Guest Star this year for his work on "Supernatural". Another "Suypernatural" finalist is Timothy Omundson, better known as a 3X finalist for Best Comedy Actor for his work on "Psych". Enrico Colantoni "Person of Interest" is back in the finals again after last year being there in the Recurring Actor category. Julian Richings "Supernatural" gets back into the finals after 1st appearing in this categories inagural award in 2011. Lucy Lawless "Agents Of SHIELD" is back in the finals in this category after finishing 3rd in it last year. Stephen Amell "The Flash" also returns after a 7th place finish last year. Grant Gustin "Arrow" also is back after being a finalist last year. Mark Hamill "The Flash" finds himself as a finalist, fresh off his massive 5 second role in Star Wars The Force Awakens. John Noble is a double finalist this year. With his Recurring honour, and his work on "Forever" he gets a spot in this finals too. Ksenia Solo "Lost Girl" is also a double finalist this year. Her Recurring nod, and her Guest Star nod for "Lost Girl", her 5th finals for this show (3 Sci-Fi/Fantasy Actress, 1 Recurring, 1 Guest). Wil Wheaton "The Big Bang Theory" is back as a finalist after being one for his work on the show in 2012. Robert Knepper "Hawaii Five-0" is back for a 2nd time in the Guest Star category, after being nominated last year for "Arrow" and its his 3rd straight year making at least the semi-finals in this category as he did so in 2013 for "The Blacklist" making him the first ever actor nominated in the same category 3 years in a row for 3 different shows. Rebecca Mader "Once Upon A Time" makes it back to the finals for the first time since 2012 when she did so with her Guest Spot on "Fringe". Sarah Bolger "Once Upon A Time" makes the finals for a 2nd time, last being 2013 as a Recurring Actress. Colin Donnell "Arrow" is back for a 2nd straight year for his work on the show as a Guest Star. Bex Taylor-Klaus the 2014 Best Youth Actress winner, is also back for a 2nd time for her Guest Star work on "Arrow". The 2013 Best Action/Drama Actor winner John Barrowman is in the finals with his work on "The Flash". Bob Newhart "The Big Bang Theory" is in his 2nd consecutive finals for Guest Star. The Final round of the 2015 Best Of TV Awards will be under way with some categories soon. Each voting round will last 3 to 6 days.. The 2015 Best Of TV Awards are about to start the Finals soon. The 6th annual BOTVA's are still closing out some polls for the run off round before we advance to the finals. We've already shattered the previous record for votes in the first round combined. With over 487,000 votes. The 2015 BOTVA's all time record of 575,000 votes in a year looks sure to fall as we passed the 560,000 vote mark in the semi-finals & nearly broke the 570,000 mark. Here are the complete results (BOLD nominees have qualified for the Finals) SEXIEST ACTRESS Emily Bett Rickards 1081 Amy Acker 736 Sarah Shahi 521 Zoie Palmer 294 Anna Silk 245 Scarlett Johansson 165 Lana Parrilla 154 Gillian Anderson 152 Jennifer Lawrence 148 Hayley Atwell 127 Stana Katic 121 Katrina Law 82 Jennifer Morrison 79 Yvonne Strahovski 72 Elizabeth Henstridge 61 Anna Torv 55 Jenna Coleman 50 Kat Dennings 49 Jamie Chung 48 Grace Park 47 Rose McIver 43 Katie Holmes 35 Jennifer Love Hewitt 34 Saoirse Ronan 30 Molly Quinn 23 Melissa Rauch 20 Aly Michalka 19 Deborah Ann Woll 19 Sarah Silverman 15 Charity Wakefield 12 Sexiest Actor Stephen Amell 780 Mads Mikkelsen 203 Jim Caviezel 196 Jared Padalecki 180 Chris Hemsworth 146 Chris Evans 129 Jensen Ackles 122 Alex O'Loughlin 95 Chris Pratt 92 Kris Holden-Ried 90 Tom Hiddleston 98 Tom Hardy 82 Benedict Cumberbatch 78 Colin O'Donoghue 78 Grant Gustin 78 Johnny Depp 78 Ian Somerhalder 74 Liam Hemsworth 74 John Barrowman 71 Josh Dallas 70 Nathan Fillion 70 Shemar Moore 70 Idris Elba 53 Hugh Dancy 48 Misha Collins 41 Chris Pine 40 Joshua Jackson 38 Jamie Dornan 37 Tom Cruise 37 Norman Reedus 34 Timothy Omundson 33 Vincent D'Onofrio 30 Philip Winchester 24 Joel Kinnaman 21 Best Non-Human Character or Prop BEAR "Person of Interest" 396 THE MACHINE "Person Of Interest" 361 THE IMPALA "Supernatural" 302 LAZARUS PIT "Arrow" 255 ATOM SUIT "Arrow" 198 THE TARDIS "Doctor Who" 183 THE FLASH SUIT "The Flash" 130 RUMPLESTILTSKINS DAGGER "Once Upon A Time" 116 S.T.A.R. Labs "The Flash" 97 Daryl's crossbow "The Walking Dead" 84 Michonnes Katana "The Walking Dead' 82 Sonic Screwdriver "Doctor Who" 65 The Sexiest Actress category will see 14 of the 16 finalists from last year in this years final again. Only finalists last year to miss the mark this year were two of my faves, Molly Quinn & Jennifer Love Hewitt. Despite the finalists list expanding from 16 to 20. Newcomers to the finals this year will include Amy Acker, Sarah Shahi, Gillian Anderson, Hayley Atwell, Elizabeth Henstridge, Grace Park.
The last 3 winners, Emily Bett Rickards, Jennifer Lawrence and Stana Katic are all in this years finals. Along with 4 time top 3 finalist Zoie Palmer. In a rare occurance in these awards, pretty much all the leaders in the nomination round were near the top in the semi-finals. The top 4 in this round, Rickards, Acker, Shahi, Palmer, were also the top 4 in the opening round. As well, Anderson, Silk and Parrilla in the opening round all finished in the top 8 & did so here as well. This is nothing short of rare for these awards, as the opening round often sees 1 or 2 hopefuls being propped up by a couple enthusiastic supporters fall by the wayside in round 2 when the voting is limited to 1 each. Last years winner Emily Bett Rickards had sizable leads in the 1st & 2nd rounds & would seem like a good bet to repeat this year. The Sexiest Actor Category was not so predictable. While last years winner Stephen Amell did lead the semi-final voting, he was an adequate 8th in the opening round. The Nomination round vote leader Mads Mikkelsen continued with trying to make an impact by coming in 2nd in the semi-finals. His co-star, who finished 2nd in round 1, didnt even qualify for the finals. Strange to say the least, its usually not till the finals that fandoms abandon a 2nd choice when voting is streamlined to only 1 or 2 picks. Another top 5 opening round vote getter didnt make the finals, Vincent D'Onofrio, as the power of the small handful of voters he had in the first round couldnt get enough of their fans to follow suit in round 2. Jim Caviezel, Jared Padalecki & Chris Hemsworth round out the top 5 in the semi-finals. Only Caviezel was a top 5 name after round one of voting. Three time winner Jensen Ackles qualified for the finals in 7th, the lowest hes ever come into the finals at. The Best Non-Human Character or Prop category looks poised to potentially have a new winner. The four time winner, The Impala from "Supernatural" seems to have some stiff competition this year. The "Person Of Interest" dog Bear has led the voting in both rounds, with another POI candidate second in both, The Machine. While The Impala did improve from the 1st round to the 2nd round by going from a 5th place showing up to a 3rd place showing & was less than 100 votes behind the leader, this is clearly the first ever sign of any challenge to the defending 4X champions crown. Interestingly the 3rd place finisher in round 1, did not even make the finals, finishing 2nd to last. While the last place qualifier in round 1 finished in the top 5 this round. Jensen Ackles "Supernatural" For the 4th time in 5 years Jensen Ackles "Supernatural" wins Best Sci-Fi or fantasy Actor honours. This time Ackles, who brings to life sharp tongued, sometimes demon, sometimes hunter, all the time bad ass (except when he has Ghost sickness) Dean Winchester on "Supernatural" beat out newcomer Grant Gustin "The Flash" by 85 votes to win. In 3rd was another newcomer Peter Capaldi "Doctor Who" with 680 votes. In 4th is Clark Gregg "Agents Of SHIELD" in his 1st year in the finals. In 5th is the 2013 3rd place finalist Peter Dinklage "Game Of Thrones". The 6th place finalist is the 2012 Winner in this category Norman Reedus "The Walking Dead". Just two votes back in 7th was last years 4th place finsher Robert Carlyle "Once Upon A Time". In 8th Colin O’Donoghue "Once Upon A Time" in his 1st finals. In 9th is Eric Balfour "Haven" with 273 votes, considering the heavy twitter traffic his fans had for him, this is a suprisingly low finish. In 10th is Jared Padalecki "Supernatural" marking the lowest finish for him, last year was 6th. In 11th was last years 5th place finalist Misha Collins. In 12th is Nikolaj Coster-Waldau "Game Of Thrones" with 97 votes. Early on in voting Balfour & Gustin held leads before giving way to Ackles on day 1 & he never relinquished the lead again. 1st JENSEN ACKLES "Supernatural" 878

Osric Chau "Supernatural"
For the 3rd consecutive year a Supernatural Guest Star wins this award. Osric Chau, the 2013 Recurring Actor Award winner nabs the 2014 honour for Best Guest Star. Only a 31 vote margin of victory over another SPN familiar face, Kim Rhodes in 2nd, Rhodes held the lead several times as her and Chau leapfrogged each other a few times in the last 3 days before Chau took enough of a lead to not be caught. This is the smallest margin of victory in this category to date. In 3rd was "Agent Of SHIELD" guest Star Lucy Lawless. Another Supernatural guest star, Rob Benedict nabbed 4th ahead of Person of Interest guest star Winston Duke in 5th, Duke held the lead for much of the 1st two days of voting before slowing down considerably. Shockingly, considering the dominance she has had in all her other categories so far this year, Emily Bett Rickards finished a mediocre 6th in the guest star category for her spot on "The Flash" just ahead of Stephen Amell for the same episode. In 8th was "Once Upon A Time" guest star Rose McGowanjust ahead of 9th place Cliff Simon from "Castle" and rounding out the top 10 was a rare 3 way tie with Colin O'Donnell "Arrow", Hugh Dillon "Continuum" & Bob Newhart "The Big Bang Theory" all tying for the spot. Deon Richmond "Psych" nabbed 13th ahead of Natalie Dormer "Elementary" in 14th. Grant Gustin "Arrow" took 15th ahead of Robert Knepper 16th, Michael Rowe 17th & Charlotte Ross back in 18th also all from "Arrow. 1st OSRIC CHAU "Supernatural" 433 2nd KIM RHODES "Supernatural" 402 3rd LUCY LAWLESS "Agents Of SHIELD" 304 4th Rob Benedict "Supernatural" 259 5th Winston Duke "Person of Interest" 224 6th Emily Bett Rickards "The Flash" 194 7th Stephen Amell "The Flash" 103 8th Rose McGowan "Once Upon A Time" 87 9th Cliff Simon "Castle" 82 10th (tie) Colin Donnell "Arrow" 79 10th (tie) Hugh Dillon "Continuum" 79 10th (10th) Bob Newhart "The Big Bang Theory" 79 13th Deon Richmond "Psych" 65 14th Natalie Dormer "Elementary" 63 15th Grant Gustin "Arrow" 58 16th Robert Knepper "Arrow" 55 17th Michael Rowe "Arrow" 41 18th Charlotte Ross "Arrow" 29 The 2014 Best Of TV Awards Semi-Finals are now Closed. This year he looks poised for another victory barring another Norman Reedus tweet style like in 2012 from 1 of the challengers. This year, the main challenger appears to be rookie sci-fi or fantasy drama star Grant Gustin from The Flash. With only 7 of last years 12 finalists back this year in the finals (although the entire top 6 is back), there is some new blood. Led of course by semi-finals runner up Grant Gustin, 4th place Clark Gregg of Agents Of SHIELD who was a semi-finalist last year, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau from Game Of Thrones who seemingly replaced Kit Harington as the GoT 2nd challengers this year to Peter Dinklage. Another newcomer, Peter Capaldi from Doctor Who also makes it, and finally Colin O'Donoghue, a semi-finalist last year makes the finals this year. Last years runner up, Eric Balfour from haven is back, as are Peter Dinklage, Robert Carlyle & Misha Collins. Dinklage managed to place 3rd, but the other 2 barely scraped into the finals, in 10th & 11th, just ahead of the 2012 winner Reedus who slipped into the final spot by a mere 9 votes. The Sci-Fi or Fantasy Actress category will more than likely have a new Winner this year. Last years winner Zoie Palmer is ineligible for the category this year because of the schedule that her show Lost Girl had this season. The 2012 winner Jennifer Morrison from Once Upon A Time is in the finals, but came in 5th, and was 2nd from her own show behind Lana Parrilla, and along with Ginnifer Goodwin makes 3 finalists for her show, and likely will cause a vote split to water down her chances of reclaiming the title. Tatiana Maslany from orphan Black comes in as the odds on favorite after her opening round 3rd place standing, she managed to win the semi-final vote. A 1st time finalist Lena Headey from Game Of Thrones finished 2nd in the semi-final vote ahead of another 1st time finalist Ming-Na Wen for Agents Of SHIELD. Last years runner up Emilia Clarke from Game Of Thrones came in 7th, while last years 3rd place finalist Emily Rose of Haven came in 4th. Agents Of SHIELD nabbed 2 other finalist spots with Chloe Bennet & Elizabeth Henstridge, giving them as many finalists as Once Upon A Time. Melissa McBride of The Walking Dead and Jenna Coleman from Doctor Who tied for the last 2 spots. Notable ommisions this year are Rachel Nichols from Continuum who finished 6th last year, Emilie de Ravin from Once Upon A Time who finished 8th & Lexa Doig from Continuum who finished 10th. All who made the semi-finals, but missed making the finals by varying margins. The Sci-Fi or Fantasy program category looks like it could be a battle for Supernatural to try & take its 4th title in the category. The semi-final vote went to Game Of Thrones with 336, a bit behind them was Supernatural still well in the mix at 308. Once Upon A Time managed a 3rd place showing. Last years runner up Lost Girl limped in at 9th, while the 3rd place finalist last year Doctor Who was 5th. Newcomers to the finals this year include Agents Of SHIELD in 4th, Orphan Black in 7th & The Vampire Diaries re-entering the finals for the 1st time since 2010 when it was entered as a Drama before the guidelines of the categories were more solidified, snuck in at 10th place. Only absentees from last year were the now retired Fringe, and Continuum. The Finals for these categories will take place in January 2015 HERE The 2014 Best Of TV Awards Semi-Finals are now Closed.
