Last year I was pretty pumped when I heard the popular FOX TV sci-fi show Fringe was moving its production for season 2 out here to Vancouver. I had just gotten into the show weeks earlier & was thrilled about the news that 1 of my new favorite shows was going to be coming here.
Of course I went out & hounded the cast a few times, getting all the regular cast (Torv, Jackson, Noble, Lance Reddick, Blair Brown & Jasika Nicole) over the span of the season. I was pretty excited to get all of them, as well as special guest star Leonard Nimoy on multiple occasions. One person I missed however, was Kirk Acevedo. That brings me to season 3.
Yesterday I caught the Fringe crew & cast out at 2 different locations a few blocks apart.
First was a scene in a park where Agent Olivia Dunham was sporting her reddish brown alternate world locks for a scene. I was asked by the crew not to shoot the scene, so I didnt. Instead opting to take a few shots of Anna while she was walking back from a take.
A couple hours later, it was over to the vancouver Art Gallery for their 2nd shoot of the day. This one was in the real world, as "Olivternate" who is sporting Torvs natural blonde hair, shot scenes with Peter & Walter (Jackson & Noble).
I am not going to say what was shot in the scenes specifically. I will be doing another blog later this week with another set of photos that will give more details. I held back on posting some pics, as a courtesy to another photog who was submitting specific pics from the scene to his agency. So I told him I would hold off posting those for 24-48 hrs, so you'll just have to wait for the rest of the set.
For now however, here is the Fringe cast on set yesterday...with a special surprise appearance by Kirk Acevedo, who wasnt shooting. He just happened to be there at the time. I managed to get him to sign 2 items as well...inching me 1 step closer to completing a cast signed item. Now I just need Mark Valley.
All toll, I got 12 autographs from the cast yesterday....which topped off a pretty good day that I had prior to that with other non-Fringe related celebs.
ADDED JULY 15TH- I have had a few questions about the baby seen here, as it is also seen in other photos where Joshua is holding the child as well. I can assure you all, the baby IS NOT in the scenes. It is merely a newborn of a cast/crew member that the cast & crew were fascinated with.
Anna was in both scenes that I saw being done that day. So there was plenty of time to shoot her. It was a breath of fresh air going for this show after enduring the paranoid ridiculousness of the Twilight cast & crew of the past while. I was allowed to shoot the scenes and them on their time between scenes without even so much as a stern finger wagging. As opposed to the Eclipse set which puts up ridiculous amounts of screens in hopes of blocking people from even seeing a glimpse of the action, let alone shooting it.
Below is a variety of pics from the earlier scene with Lance, and her later scene with Joshua, as well as a few of her just hanging out, knitting. For some reason, I dont think of young & attractive females as knitters. So it seemed odd to me. So I took some pics of it.
Funny enough, the 1 pic I asked her if I could take it, was one of the least sharp ones of the bunch, the last pic. I got her to sign a few photos for myself, as well my friend got a couple & her brother, who was the one that got us into the show got 1 for himself. I asked Anna how Mark was doing (aka- "John Scott" in season 1 & her real life husband). She said fine & reminded me of something I knew, but had forgotten...he has a new show of his own thats being shot here, Human Target. So I will have to take a venture out to find that set someday.
It took me forever to trim this down to the pile I chose. I could have theoretically posted a 100 pics of her, but a lot of them would have been even more repetitive than some of them seem now. Ideally, I like to go with 10-20 pics in a blog, but sometimes you just cant fit it into that range. So here it is.
The Anna Torv collection. 44 pics.
Yesterday the new hit TV show "Fringe" was filming not far from my house & I went there eagerly hoping to see some action. It has become one of my new favorite shows, so I get a bit excited when I find them.
I showed up & instantly scoured the area to figure out where exactly they were shooting & who would be there. I was told Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson & Lance Reddick had scenes there today. That was good enough for me. Time to settle in for a few hrs of repetitive scene watching.
The first scene involved Agent Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) & Agent Philip Broyles (Lance Reddick) walking thru a park/town square set up & talking.
Below is a few pics of them preparing for this scene, and shooting it. Included is 1 cameo from Joshua Jackson who arrived to film his scene while the other two were still finishing up their scene. You can see him standing there smoking a cigar while they are completing their work in the background.
Lance wrapped his day shortly after that & left. Just before leaving though my friend & I stopped him & got him to sign a few items & I got a photo with him (I had got 1 previously at a different set, but the shadows from the trees wrecked it, so I wanted another one).
More of Joshua & Anna coming up in the other blogs.
