SPOILER BELOW...DO NOT CONTINUE IF YOU WANT TO AVOID SPOILERS!!!
All summer there has been 1 question constantly asked by Fringe fans and even their marketing personnel. "Where is Peter Bishop?". It has had 4 incredibly popular & much talked about commercials (including the most recent that just came out yesterday). Its spawned hashtags on twitter #whereispeter and #whereispeterbishop and all in all, it has been the central topic of discussion amongst casual and avid Fringe fans. Yesterday I went to the set of Fringe for the 2nd day in a row. I wasnt going there with any type of big plans. Just see a bit more filming, maybe take a few more pics to fill out the blog that I posted before this 1 and perhaps get John Noble to sign. My entire purpose for being there changed however later in the evening when a Ford Flex pulled up at the set and dropped off a cast member that no one, including the crew had seen yet this season... JOSHUA JACKSON! The man who plays the much talked about Peter Bishop character had not filmed a second of Season 4 prior to his arrival. The crew greeted him as if he was their long lost best friend they hadnt seen in 6 years. Hugs & handshakes everywhere. Josh then acknowledged the fans who had encroached in to the side of the street they were all on and said to us that he would come over to see us in "1/2 an hour". He then proceeded to go into the building they were filming in & start singing "Happy Birthday to you" to someone. At the time, I wondered if he was here just to say Happy Birthday to someone since all we had been told by crew & websites was that Josh's character, Peter Bishop, who you fans recall was "killed off" at the end of season 3 in a storyline that rocked the Fringe fans, was not expected back till late September to film. About 15 minutes later Josh came out & walked over to the crowd of 10-15 fans across the street. Most who were from around the globe including the U.K, Australia, Austria, Switzerland and elsewhere. He gave out photos with, signed autographs, and assured those of us there that he was in fact, filming scenes today. I asked him "so when do you get back to work on this show?" he replied "right now". I asked him if he wanted to give us any spoilers, which was greeted with a smart ass "you're joking, right?' look. Josh spent 10-15 minutes with the fans. He recalled in fairly vivid detail meeting 1 fan who was meeting him for her 2nd time. She said to him "you dont remember me" and then Josh recalled their last encounter to a near word for word tee...even though it had been a year or 2 prior. She was impressed, and Josh had this look of "how good is that eh?" as the group marveled at his memory. Eventually the crew told him he had to go...afterall, he DID have work he was there for. He then joked "1st day back to work and I'm already late". Then he went off to film his 1st scenes of season 4. A little later we noticed Josh & John Noble walking around from a corner, they stopped to chat to a couple women, and the pair of actors took the time to play around with the 1 ladies dog. John kept making reference to how he was going to have to get his make up re-done because the dog kept licking him, while Joshua listened to the woman closely while she pitched a charity event that was coming up the next month which is taking place here in Vancouver with a list of TV stars already confirmed to shopw up for it. The interest thing we noticed about Josh, was the tags he was wearing all over his shirt. I counted at least 5 of them, perhaps there was more. The suggestion amongst the group is they are motion sensor tags, like what you see when sports video games try to capture players real life movements. This lead to speculation on what Josh's scene really could be. Was he actually there, or just a vision? Guess we all will have to wait to find out. Earlier in the day Anna Torv was also seen on set. But I never saw her while I was there. It was suggested she was inside filming, but we never saw confirmation of it as we never saw her come in or leave in the time I was there. Fringe season 4 is currently shooting episode 4. The season starts Friday September 23rd on FOX. IF YOU POST THESE PHOTOS ELSEWHERE - DONT UNTAG THEM. THEY WILL BE PULLED OFF BY WHATEVER SITE HOSTS YOUR SITE, BLOG, PAGE. Photos can be PURCHASED unedited for blog/site/personal use.

Since January 24, 2011 my site has hosted a league and playoff tournament to find out my readers favorite Male & Female TV characters.
After almost 6 months, over 29000 playoff votes counted, over 28000 regular season votes counted, plus thosands more that were discarded for various reasons....we have some champions. 144 characters, 80 male, 64 female characters started out with hopes & dreams back then. Early on, it became clear there was 8 or 10 characters whose fans had become quite determined to push their favorites to the top. I guess its no surprise, considering my site talks primarily about Vancouver based shows, most of those characters were from Vancouver shows. Smallville had 4 characters in Clark Kent, Lois Lane, Oliver Queen & Chloe Sullivan who early on emerged as serious contenders. A twitter campaign by Olivers 1st round opponent thwarted his chance to go far. Clark Kent had an indominable regular season, but once the playoff format of no multiple voting was in place, his support tailed some. Still Clark pushed thru to the mens finals, before finally falling. Chloe managed to hold on till the elite 8 of the womens tourney before she finally gave way to her castmate, Lois Lane....the eventual winner of the womens division & the only undefeated contestant in either side of the tournament. Supernatural super hunter Dean Winchester looked unstopable early, while the shows other characters like Sam Winchester, Bobby Singer, Castiel & Crowley all started slow, but gained momentum as things rolled along in the regular season. In the playoffs Castiel went out early, losing to eventual finalist Clark Kent in round 2. Crowley would meet the same fate in round 3, losing to Clark Kent. Bobby Singer came within 1 game of knocking off his buddy Dean Winchester in round 3, but eventually gave way to the man who would eventually go on to win the Mens title, Dean. Fringe lead female character Agent Olivia Dunham looked poised to also take a run at the title in the regular season, as was agent Astrid Farnsworth who won her division in the regular season. Astrid could not continue the success in the playoffs, bowing out in the sweet 16 round of the womens division. The shows male counterparts Peter & Walter Bishop both had strong regular seasons, playoff success didnt follow them as much, with each bowing out before their own division finals. Agent Olivia Dunham pushed thru to the womens final, before eventually being swept by womens champion Lois Lame. Sanctuary lead character Dr. Helen Magnus had a slow start & only barely got into the playoffs with a losing record none the less...but once there, she proved to be a formidable opponent as her fanbase caught on to the game & pushed her to the final 4 of the womens tournament before losing to eventual champ Lois Lane. Stargate Universe had many challengers in the playoffs. But playoff success was limited for the SGU crew. With all the contestants, including 3 regular season division champs in Eli Wallace, Dr. Dale Volker & Vanessa James, from the now cancelled show bowing out by the sweet 16 draw of each side. There was some success for shows not from the 604. The Big Bang Theory had 3 male playoff contestants, with Dr. Sheldon Cooper, Raj Koothrappali & Howard Wolowitz all making it. None however found a terribly successful playoff formula. However, lead female Penny made it to the final 4 on the womens side & even had a 2-0 series lead before falling to Agent Olivia Dunham. How I Met Your Mother had 3 division champs in the regular season. Robin Scherbatsky, & Lily Aldrin on the womens side. Both however fell in the womens sweet 16 round. On the mens side, Legen..wait for it...DARY ladies man Barney Stinson made it to the mens final 4 before falling to Clark Kent. The Simpsons mastermind Homer Simpson made the mens final 4 finals before bowing out to eventual champion Dean Winchester. Several other challengers like Richard Castle from Castle, Dr. Gregory House of House, Daphne Powell from No Ordinary Family, Penelope Garcia of Criminal Minds, Seeley Booth from Bones & Turanga Leela from Futurama also flirted with some playoff success before leaving in the elite 8 rounds of their respective genders. In the end. Dean Winchester from Supernatural won the mens tournament over Clark Kent of Smallville, while Clarks main squeeze, Lois Lane defeated Agent Olivia Dunham from Fringe for the womens title. So congratulations to your 2011 favorite TV character winners Mens- DEAN WINCHESTER (Jensen Ackles) "Supernatural" Womens- LOIS LANE (Erica Durance) Smallville Over the past 2 seasons of Fringe I have taken a lot of sets of photos...but for 1 reason or another, sometimes, they dont immediately make it to my blogs.
So, over the past couple seasons I have a few pics, some I couldnt post because of computer problems which resulted in them getting buried under newer sets from other projects, some I was asked not to post immediately, such as the Josh Jackson pics with Diane Kruger. Others, simply I didnt think there was enough pics to make a good blog at the time. Even a couple more, I didnt realize had Seth Gabel in the pic at the time, as it was well before Lincoln Lee became a more central character. Theres also the pic I took of AN Observer, which turned out to not be THE Observer (Michael Cerveris). At the time the idea that there was more than 1 Observer had not been shown yet, so I wasnt aware there were multiple other Observers...till 2 mins later when 2 other Oberservers walked by me that day. Theres even a couple photos with that I just cropped me or my friends out of, like the Jasika Nicole, Anna Torv & John Noble posed pics. So enjoy Fringe fans. Season 4 starts filming in Vancouver on July 14th.... hopefully this occupies you till then. Season 3 of FOX sci-fi hit "Fringe" has ended with the episode "The Day We Died" & the show, as it often does, created as many or more questions than it answered. If you have not watched the season finale yet, I suggest no longer reading this blog till you have as spoilers are posted in here.
The episode starts with a scene where we see Peter in the future, apparently in the year 2026. This of course was possible after Peter enters the doomsday machine in the episode prior with Olivias assistance & is (so far unexplained) launched into the future to see what the actions of the past create. In this episode we see many characters older, this includes Olivia Dunham's niece, all grown up (played by Emily Meade) & following in her aunts footsteps as a rookie FBI agent. Broyles has moved on to become a Senator. Astrid is now a field agent with the FBI. While Peter, is now a member of our worlds seemingly created Fringe division. A group called "End of Dayers" is trying to speed up the process of destroying the world as a terrorist simply known as Moreau (played by Brad Dourif) attacks places based on "soft spots" that will create more vortexes. In 2026, our world is still alive, but barely. The alternate universe was destroyed in the battle between the worlds. One notable survivor from "over there" was Walternate however, who apparently came over to our world prior to his worlds destruction. All the key members of our world still appear to be alive in 2026, but with Walternate's world destroyed, he is on a quest to destroy our world & make his son Peter suffer as he has, by taking away what he cares for more than anything, his now wife Olivia. While the FBI & Fringe division work on trying to stop more attacks by the terrorist group, Walternate lures Peter to their old home. Once there Peter discusses with Walternate all thats happened & hopes to convince him to stop. When Peter realizes rationalizing wont work, he tells his father he wants him to come with him or he will arrest him. It is then that Walternate shows his son it was all a trick. Walternates image was nothing but a holographic projection. Meanwhile in Central Park, Walternate is actually there & is about to take the next step in his plan, getting revenge thru killing Olivia. Walternate eventually succeeds in killing Olivia in the future & a funeral is held for her, where all the members you expect to see in our world are at the service. The loss of Olivia hurts deep for Peter, and it is left to Walter to figure out how to avoid the inevetable destruction of our universe. Walter realizes that the doomsday device was created by himself as a warning sign, so Peter could see what the future would bring if the current path was followed. Walter theorized he went back in time & planted it to be found in the future. Its implied the lore of "The First People" was infact created by him & other trusted members of the group. With the knowledge of this now in Peters mind, he returns to the present with 1 goal, to merge the two worlds together, with 1 sole purpose....to avoid the destruction of both worlds. When he comes to, he finds Olivia, alive & well, and realizes he must merge the two worlds to work together. As Walter & Walternate, as well as Olivia & Faulivia face each other in our world, Peter explains they must work together, then vanishes. Neither side shows even a shred of concern that Peter has vanished into thin air, despite all 4 parties there clearly having deep ties to him. Outside the Statue Of Liberty, a group of Observers is seem staring at a bright greet SOL & explaining that they should not remember Peter, as he never actually existed. With that, the season ends & many questions for next season are created. The most glaring is- Does this mean the end for Peter Bishop (aka- Josh Jackson) on the show?? Of course, fans will theorize all summer about the meaning of all this & whether or not Jackson will or wont return to the show. An article that you can read in full here http://bit.ly/l9Kwrd with executive producers Jeff Pinkner & JH Wyman clearly states Josh will be back to reprise the role of Peter Bishop...how that will play out, clearly was not stated however. Some other questions I think need answering are... If Peter doesnt exist & seemingly never did, does Fauxlivias baby no longer exist either?? Can Walter & Walternate work together? Will Olivia or Fauxlivia ever remember Peter somehow? With the mission seemingly accomplished to save the worlds, what can a new season have in store?? How will they write Peter back in? With the knowledge now that time travel is theoretically possible in this world, will this lead to other time travel based storylines down the road & how will that affect current world situations? While I generally dislike the idea of leaving major characters "in limbo" for cliffhangers, thie fact the producers came right out & went "dont panic, Josh is still on salary" quells that considerably. Usually these concerns are over contract squabbles, this seems to simply be more of a logistics issue. When you are dealign with a show where simple logic is continually bent, warped or downright discarded, this is nothing more than a minor blip for bringing him back. Reality is he will be back, just when & how is the question. Only thing known about the 4th season so far, is that Josh Jackson is eventually going to return. Outside of that fact, nothing is easy to predict. Which is just the way the writers for the hit show like it, keepign the audience guessing.....and for the rest of the summer & perhaps well into next year, they certainly will do just that. Earlier this month, the cult FOX TV hit "Fringe" filmed some of their last scenes in downtown Vancouver for season 3.
I am sure if you are any type of fan you have seen or heard about the very epic spoilers that came out from filming a bit before that & I am not at this time going to speculate on what I think they mean... but I do have theories. Instead, I am simply going to post the photos from this evening of filming & give what few details I could put together from it. There was two sets of scenes this evening. Some inside the historic Oprheum Theatre (you may recognize it as the place that season 2 ended in). The scenes were from what I heard from extras & crew were to do with an explosion/bomb going off at the symphony. On set for those scenes (may not actually be in all or any scenes... were just seen on set) Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson, Emily Meade & Brad Dourif....as well as many extras in some very well done make up/special fx. The scenes appear to be set in the alt-world, as I saw several members in "Fringe unit" gear. The later scene, which the public did see included a landscape of scattered debris, including part of the Orpheum sign laying on the ground burning as burned out cars filled the street, Torv & Jackson arrive & walk up towards the disaster zone. Josh was wearing an army style jacket with the name plate "Bishop" on it & a "Fringe" badge around his neck. My impression of the way both characters were dressed is this is to potray them in the future at some point as both Torv & Jackson had different hairsyles than the way they usually have them when playing Agent Olivia Dunham (or Fauxlivia either) and Peter Bishop. I am not certain....but I did notice a telling spoiler in the pics I took. I wont speculate on it anymore till I have a chance to confirm what I saw. I tried avoiding posting pics involving this potential spoiler. Anyways, below is a few pics from the day Well, as I said, there was more Fringe pics to add.
SPOILERS INCLUDED.- If you dont want to know any details of the episode...DO NOT READ ON!!!!!! I had promised a photog not to post any pics from this set for a day.... Soooo, now that the day is passed...I can do them. I know some of you have seen a couple pics from off in the distance of this scene already...but here are some more, probably more close up pics...with some details of the scene. So, below, pics of Olivia & Peter KISSING. Here is what I know of yesterdays shots. First scenes earlier in the day were of our world Olivia, in the alternate world. She still has her reddish brown locks over there. Not much I can say about it other than she was at a park. Not sure what the scene was about, except, it was alternate world scenes. The later scenes were in our world. There they started with scenes of Walter & Olivternate, who is sporting the trademark blonde locks of Torv's, sitting on some steps while Walter ate. There was then a scene with Olivternate, Peter & Walter infront of steps. Peter starts at the top of the stairs & walks down to meet up with the pair who are already at the bottom. Some dialogue is exchanged, and Walter leaves with his little bagged lunch. This leads up to the big scene of the night. With Walter gone, Olivternate & Peter share a fairly lengthy soft kiss probably 2-4 seconds long, at the base of the steps & walk away arms wrapped around each other. Funny side story- last year, that was the same place I first found Fringe filming...and wouldnt you know it. A kiss was had there too. At that time, it was Nina Sharp kissing Agent Broyles on the cheek. I guess thats the official Fringe make out place. ok, so now you know what we all know.....heres a few pics of the main scene. Last year I was pretty pumped when I heard the popular FOX TV sci-fi show Fringe was moving its production for season 2 out here to Vancouver. I had just gotten into the show weeks earlier & was thrilled about the news that 1 of my new favorite shows was going to be coming here.
Of course I went out & hounded the cast a few times, getting all the regular cast (Torv, Jackson, Noble, Lance Reddick, Blair Brown & Jasika Nicole) over the span of the season. I was pretty excited to get all of them, as well as special guest star Leonard Nimoy on multiple occasions. One person I missed however, was Kirk Acevedo. That brings me to season 3. Yesterday I caught the Fringe crew & cast out at 2 different locations a few blocks apart. First was a scene in a park where Agent Olivia Dunham was sporting her reddish brown alternate world locks for a scene. I was asked by the crew not to shoot the scene, so I didnt. Instead opting to take a few shots of Anna while she was walking back from a take. A couple hours later, it was over to the vancouver Art Gallery for their 2nd shoot of the day. This one was in the real world, as "Olivternate" who is sporting Torvs natural blonde hair, shot scenes with Peter & Walter (Jackson & Noble). I am not going to say what was shot in the scenes specifically. I will be doing another blog later this week with another set of photos that will give more details. I held back on posting some pics, as a courtesy to another photog who was submitting specific pics from the scene to his agency. So I told him I would hold off posting those for 24-48 hrs, so you'll just have to wait for the rest of the set. For now however, here is the Fringe cast on set yesterday...with a special surprise appearance by Kirk Acevedo, who wasnt shooting. He just happened to be there at the time. I managed to get him to sign 2 items as well...inching me 1 step closer to completing a cast signed item. Now I just need Mark Valley. All toll, I got 12 autographs from the cast yesterday....which topped off a pretty good day that I had prior to that with other non-Fringe related celebs. ADDED JULY 15TH- I have had a few questions about the baby seen here, as it is also seen in other photos where Joshua is holding the child as well. I can assure you all, the baby IS NOT in the scenes. It is merely a newborn of a cast/crew member that the cast & crew were fascinated with. |
