So yesterday there was a Supernatural shoot not far from my house...so I went and squeezed in a couple hours at the set.
There was not a lot to shoto (with my $500 semi decent camera...you really need the $1000+ type stuff to shoot from that far away and have great shots every time) because the crew decided to put up screens at a variety of angles & made set personnel stand around the outskirts of the scene to minimize angles for both the pros & fans alike to see, let alone shoot, what was going on... which wasnt even anything season spoiling.
It appeared to be a scene where where Sam & Dean walk out of a hotel (earlier they were shot going in...but I didnt get anything off that scene) and Dean walks away on Sam. Not exactly season spoiler, like I said...but the crew acted like they were protecting the ending to Casablanca....and as much as I love Supernatural, the greatest episode of this show isnt fit to even be accidentally put in the same class as an iconic movie. This brings me to a point where I am going to ramble on on a moderately related, but not too likely interesting to most of you, topic.
When one crew member takes it upon themselves to start a personal brigade against photographers or fans from seeing or shooting something. It isnt winning over anyone for the show. TV is all about eyeballs on the TV sets. TV industry is a VERY PR heavy industry. It relies heavily on fans being happy...and trying to shun them, and prevent them from seeing whats going on, all to inconvenience 4 people that 1 person on the crew doesnt like, is absurd. You did more harm than good by your over the top antics. I've been told "its distracting to the actors"... and while I did watch an actor once have a bit of a fit over such a thing.. the vast majority are oblivious to people photographing it....since they are 100 ft away. Also, NO, they are not "in the shot". Unless your camera can see around corners with some magic futuristic camera that can bend around solid objects, that too is BS.
As for you Clif. Since I know you are fascinated with what I say & do...you will read this at some point. Yes, I am aware you dont like me. I even know why. I am even ok with it...I didnt at anytime think you & I were going to be hanging out together trading cupcake recipes. YET, the 1 and only time you asked me not to bug the guys, I respected your request...and yet, you STILL feel the need to take a pot shot on twitter at me. Seemed uncalled for, and unprofessional. ESPECIALLY, considering, like I said, the 1 and only time you asked me to not do something, I did as you asked. I have both publicly in person, and on twitter, invited you to discuss your problem with me the proper way, man to man...which I think for YOU would be ideal...but you opt not to accept that proposal, then wait a year and take a shot at me on twitter out of the blue. Seems random, and not terribly wise for you to do.
Anyways, I didnt get a lot in the way of photos. Infact, most of what you are seeing here was screencaps off a video a friend gave me to see if I could do anything with....but, hey, its free and I suppose, its better than nothing...right?
Some pics of the Supernatural cast from last season that never got posted. Jensen, Jared, Misha & Mark
Last season I shot a few pics of different Supernatural cast that either didnt make it to the blog because of time, my own personal opinion on quality, the tragic death of my old computer, or my personal temper tantrum over people untagging my photos...in any case.... here are some of those pics.
Yes, I am aware some of the group pics are grainy. They are free. So, really, complain to someone else.
A few pics of Jensen Ackles, a solo of Mark Sheppardand a few of Jensen & Jared, along with a group shout of J2, Misha & Mark Sheppard returning together one night.
You can follow these castmates on twitter at

Last April Supernatural was shooting part of their season finale in downtown Vancouver. I got a bit of video of them shooting it before crew asked quite nicely "dont post any spoilers please"..... so I have patiently waited. The season is now in the bag.
So, SPOILER FREE to the majority of the world, a very short (and frankly, non-descript scene) scene of Jared Padalecki (Sam Winchester) & Erica Cerra (Robin) walking into a hotel together.
If the video wont work for you here, I apologize. You can see it on youtube, but with tags for this site, here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5Sc3_-s65E
The last week of filming for season 6 of Supernatural came at the end of March/early April. The last known on location shoot was in downtown Vancouver & had all the SPN regulars accounted for during the day.
On March 31st, till shortly after midnight on April 1st, the Winchesters were busy taking care of business, with help from Bobby & Castiel in the alleys of Vancouver. Although multiple scenes were shot during the day, only really were the night shots, which only had Jared in them, viewable to the public. The rest of the scenes were done in sections that were blocked from regular public viewing.
All that is known about these final scenes, is that Sam strolls up to a hotel entrance with a girl (unknown name) & goes inside. Nothing more that I can say about the scene at this time.
In any case, some pics from the set of the Season 6 finale of Supernatural. Lotsof Jim Beaver & Jared Padalecki, a few of Misha Collins & 1 partial shot of Jensen Ackles.
VERY short video of Supernatural stars Jared Padalecki (Sam) & Mitch Pileggi (Grampa) running into an alley for a scene.
Much to my surprise...I actually was videotaping 1 time instead of shooting. Its not long, and it doesnt tell much...but heres a short "spoiler" video from a scene for season 6 of Supernatural.
Sorta wish I had known I had video mode on at the time...I probably missed a couple seconds off the start.
There wasnt a lot in the way of photos for me to post, because frankly, it was too dark to shoot the good stuff in the evening, and in the day they were in doors mostly.
But, heres a few of Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester) heading in to set in the daytime. Then some of Jared Padalecki (Sam Winchester) in the evening shoot, with a slight appearance off to the side by Mitch Pileggi (Grampa Campbell).
I added a few of Jared that seem blurry because I thought it was funny what he was doing. He was doing some type of arm stretches I guess prepping for the scene, and it was pretty weird to see, and looked even weirder in the photos.
They were filming scenes for an episode spoofing Twilight. I took shots of some of the other cast in the scene, but none really turned out well enough to bother posting.
Two firsts happened today.
I got autographs from Misha Collins. I have met him twice, before I was a fan of the show & didnt know who he was yet. So I never had anything for him to sign those times. Now I did, and he happily did them all & I got a picture with him. Of all the cast they have had come in & go out on this show, he is probably my 2nd favorite cast member behind Jensen. So this was pretty exciting for me. The interaction was breif, as he was just on his way to set as we got him, but he took time to sign for 2 of us, on multiple items, did a photo with & even chatted breifly with us. I asked him what he thought of this character when he first saw the idea for him, he said it looked fun.
I got shots of scenes of Supernatural. I have met the cast on multiple occasions each...but never have I got pics of them on set, and definitely never in a scene. The fact that 3 of the 4 most notable cast members on the show were there for it was extra nice. So often I go to sets where only 1 or 2 of the main cast are there, so having most of the main cast in 1 spot was nice. Although it was impossible to really shoot them all in 1 frame, without looking like ants...still great to get them all at 1 scene.
Below are the pics from todays shoot.... the next few paragraphs will have possible (not entirely confirmed in some cases) spoilers...so DO NOT read on if you want a spoiler free life.....
Are you ready??
Ok. So all I know is the Winchester boys are together for this scene and were looking down out of a 3rd story window that was broken after a scene that was shot where someone jumped out the window.
Below was Castiel laying ontop of a green screen type object. he gets up from the screen and stares up towards where the boys would be looking down from.
Reports I heard from those on the set prior to me showing up is 2 stunt persons did a jump out the window earlier onto a car (the car shown caved in in my pics). I dont know for certain if Castiels character was 1 of the 2 who jumped, but judging by the scene he was shooting when I got there, this may be the case.
The other individual, (show in the suit in the pics) was also apparently in the jumping scene according to those on the scene before I got there. I do not know if he was a stunt double, or the actor in the scene.
All in all, all thats really know is...someone jumped out a window, the Winchesters looked down at whoever it was as the hit a car...Castiel may or may not have been 1 of them, as he was filming a scene getting up from the spot where the fall happened.
I occasionally argue with inanimate objects, but I usually win. So its all good.
