THIS BLOG CONTAINS NOTABLE SPOILERS FOR SEASON 3 OF "CONTINUUM". Do not continue reading, or viewing the photos below if you do not want to know major spoilers about the show prior to its airing.
Not long before Christmas hiatus, I caught the crew & some of the cast of the Canadian sci-fi cop from the future hit drama Continuum out filming scenes for season 3 (I believe episode 4 or 5 judging by the time of the month I caught up to them). I actually had come across them a few times over the past couple weeks, but this was the 1 & only chance to actually SEE the filming.
The scene that was being shot caught me off guard, and made me instantly excited to see where season 3 could go. So what did I see that had me so curious about where they could be going with this upcoming season?? Well, its the return of a character. Yes, a character returning changed how I was looking at season 3, and probably will for you too.
Imagine my confusion when I showed up to see Stephen Lobo as Matthew Kellogg shooting scenes with a young gorgeous redheaded Magda Apanowicz as Emily Hartwell.
So Alec obviously succeeded in going back in time to save Emily as she is quite fine. But, did Alec get "his" Emily back?? I ask this, because the scene she did with Kellogg suggested very much she knows very little of her past. She looked at Kellogg, a man she SHOULD have known from her past life as if he was a stranger. They then talked for a bit, and in the end, Kellogg leaves while Emily curls up into a ball on the rainy streets of Vancouver & breaks down crying.
When filming was done. I asked Stephen if he minded signing for me, he said sure. Since it was raining pretty good out, I asked if he could take inside the building they were using as the holding area for the actors in between scenes, he did & gave them to me shortly after. I then wished him a happy holidays as I had learned it was his last day of filming for 2013 (the show still had a few more days though)
So when Alec went back in time, did he delete Emily & him ever knowing each other as well? or do you think they meet under different circumstances & she just doesnt know Kellogg?
In other news, I finally met Victor Webster a few weeks ago. After trying for him 3 or 4 times over the 1st couple seasons, I actually met him AFTER I had decided there was little chance of seeing anyone at the set I was at (in the snow) and had walked away & as I was coming back around the back end of the block they were on, who should I run into walking back to set from his break? Victor. Great guy. Took the time to sign in the snow for me. Funnier yet, after not running into him for 2 seasons, I saw him twice in a month as he left with Rachel Nichols one day at a set in the final week while I was getting Rachel to sign some, he saw me said hello agian & got into the van.
Continuum returns for its 3rd season March 16th on Showcase.
THIS POST CONTAINS A MAJOR NOTABLE SPOILER FOR THE SEASON 8 EXPECTED FINALE OF "PSYCH". If you do not want to be spoiled, please avoid reading the article, or viewing the photos below.
In my last set of original Psych set photos ever, I bring you a few sneaky photos I took of a key moment in not just this episode, but the series.
I have told you for awhile I had more photos, albeit quite grainy from being over 2 blocks away, from the day they filmed down near English Bay for the episode "The Break Up", which I have heard from multiple people will be the series finale (although no one at USA/NBC is claiming such yet). Some people have already run to the speculation of what the photos are, and well, they were right.
The scene in question is a game changer for the characters & I believe is a key piece to wrapping up the series. The scene is with Shawn & Juliet, and the often childish, only thinking of himself Shawn makes a very adult decision. He asks Juliet to marry him. But will she say yes?
It was only a season earlier that Jules found out Shawn lied about how he solved crimes. Will she be able to overlook that major problem & accept his proposal?
Well, the answer is YES. Juliet said yes, but before they get married.....they'll need the ring...which got stolen by some thief right after she says yes. This leads to Shawn & Gus chasing after the suspect in a student driver car.
Ohh, right. Guess I should explain why they arent in the blueberry (if you havent read my previous blogs).
Gus no longer has the Blueberry as he no longer has his job & thus, no longer has the company car.
Back to the proposal. I dont know what all was said. My angle was pretty far away to get these shots of a scene they tried quite hard to prevent prying eyes from seeing on the public street. But I do know the question was asked, and I do know the response.
With all the character changes they have gone thru in this 8th & final season, it will be a very very interesting season for Psych.

Almost Human films scenes with Karl Urban, Michael Ealy & 2 guest stars - Gina Carano and John Larroquette
Almost Human filmed some scenes right near my house one day a few weeks ago.
In this set of scenes, most of the filming was indoors, but I did catch 1 short exterior scene that had a surprising guest star in it.
Former MMA fighter turned actress Gina Carano was doing a scene where she storms into a building in full gear with a gun.
As the day went on, I saw Karl Urban & Michael Ealy at different points, along with recently announced recurring guest star, 5X Emmy Award winning actor John Larroquette.
Like I said, there was not a lot to see outside of the 1 exterior scene, but heres a few pics from the set.
Since this could be quite possibly the last blog I will do about Almost Human, as its ratings suggest a cancellation is highly probable, let me just say I quite liked the show. While the cast were less receptive to autograph requests than their Wyman/Abrams pre-decessors Fringe were, they still were willing to sign when asked, didnt object to being photographed on set, and the crew was, respectful & professional in how they dealt with the public. From a public relations standpoint here in Vancouver, they did as much as they could to win over fans. Fingers crossed this wont be my last blog about them. If it is, thanks for reading it...whoever you are.
Almost Human returns to its Monday Nights starting tonight on FOX in the U.S. & Global in Canada.
Short videos of PSYCH filming scenes for "Shawn & Gus Truck Things Up" in season 8 with James, Dule & Timothy
Here is a couple quick videos from the set of "Psych" during season 8 filming of the food truck festival episode "Shawn & Gus Truck Things Up"
In this scene, Shawn & Gus (James Roday & Dule Hill) had just finished talking to Henry (Corbin Bernsen) [seen briefly in the 1st video] before they hurry over to Carlton "Lassie" Lassiter (Timothy Omundson) and proceed to talk with him
I saw a lot of the filming in this courtyard, I will have a couple more short videos at a later date from this set. Till then, here are these, and you can see another video HERE and of course lots of still photos, including some NOTABLE SPOILERS HERE and HERE
Psych returns for its 8th & final season (even though they wont say it...again, yet.) Jaunary 8, 2014 on USA.
Almost Human filmed a couple scenes at a downtown eastside diner called "The Ovaltine" on Hastings Street for an upcoming episode a few weeks ago.
In the scene I saw shot, John Kennex (Karl Urban) & Dorian (Michael Ealy) leaving the restaurant & get into their cruiser.
The on screen chemistry these two have shown so far has been phenomenal. So it should be no shock I found they really seemed to flow well during the takes too. Karl even mockingly commanding Michael to " get in the "expletive* car", even though they clearly werent seeming to be recording audio for these takes as the filming was done thru the restaurant inside point of view.
The Robot with human emotions DRN aka "Dorian" played by Ealy has been the star of the show so far. Kennex, played by Urban has been no slouch either. Whoever did the casting on this show really hit a home run with these 2 leading the show.
Almost Human is airing on Monday nights in the U.S. on FOX. In Canada On Global TV. They will return for the 2nd half of their short 13 episode 1st season on January 6th.
I found Almost Human filming some scenes (it was their 3rd location of the day) in historic Chinatown several weeks ago for tonights 6th episode of their 1st season.
In this scene, the LAPD were on the scene of some event, and Minka Kelly (Valerie Stahl) was there investigating. There didnt be a lot to the scene. She comes by, looks at the scene for a moment, then goes over to a car, gets in & talks to someone through a comm device & thats where the scene seems to end.
This was the 1st time I had seen Minka on set since they filmed the pilot episode back in March. It was also the first time I met Minka. I asked her to sign for me at the end of her shoot, and she did so. She, and the rest of the Almost Human team have some big shoes to fill as far as fan friendliness goes from Vancouver TV shows, especially from their creators pre-decessor "Fringe" who set the bar pretty high. PR is such a big part of television, hopefully this cast is up to the challenge eventually.
Almost Human is airing on Monday nights on FOX in the U.S. & Global in Canada.
Psych films a scene for the season 8 food truck episode "Shawn & Gus Truck Things Up" this past August
With the "Psych The Musical" episode less than 3 weeks away, felt it was time to drop a little bit of the backlog of Psych blog tidbits I've got left.
Today, a little short video of James Roday & Dule Hill as Shawn Spencer & Burton Guster, filming a scene for a season 8 episode of Psych where they investigate a murder at a food truck festival.
Its short, and really not much happens in it. But, its something to get you a little more excited about the upcoming Musical episode & of course, season 8, likely the final season, to come in early 2014.
