The 2014 Best Of TV Awards Semi-Finals are now Closed. The Finals for the 5th annual BOTVA's will begin in early 2015. But 1st we need candidates to compete in the finals. There are 8 challengers who made the finals last year that also have made the finals this year. Included in that bunch is last years runner up Benedict Cumberbatch and 3rd place challenger Colin O'Donoghue. Two finalists were not even nominees last year, Tom Hiddleston & Chris Pratt. Last years 4th place finisher, Misha Collins, missed the finals by 11 votes. With 3 different winners in the 3 years of this award, Sexiest Actress might be on the verge of going 4 for 4 if the semi-finals are a sign of what the finals will bring. Despite the strong penalties against Zoie Palmer and Anna Silk for the ineligible vote penalties of the nomination round, both of them managed to finish 1st & 2nd in this category. However, they still will have penalties against them in the finals. At least going into the finals.... they look the the pair to beat for the award. The last 2 Sexiest Actress winners Jennifer Lawrence & Stana Katic are again in the finals in 3rd & 4th. However, the first ever winner Erica Durance, did not make the finals this year. Like the men, 8 of last years finalists made this years finals. The highest ranked finalist last year to not make it this year was Olivia Wilde, as she did not even make the semi-finals this year. The finals for these categories will take place in January 2015 HERE.

 Best Of TV Awards 2013 - Sexiest Actress Winner Jennifer Lawrence The Best Of TV Awards 2013 winner in the category of Sexiest Actress is Jennifer Lawrence. The Academy Award winning Hunger Games hottie won this year with 1,114 votes, after finishing 6th last year. Runner up for a 3rd time in a row, to 3 different winners, Zoie Palmer from "Lost Girl" with 1075 votes. Palmer held the lead for most of the vote, but lost the lead with about 48 hrs to go, breifly got it back, only to lose it with about 16 hours left & never got it back. In 3rd Anna Silk also of "Lost Girl" was well back with 702 votes. This was her 2nd consecutive 3rd place finish. Rounding out the top 5 were Jennifer Morrison of "Once Upon A Time" & Emily Bett Rickards "Arrow". In 6th was last years champion Stana Katic from "Castle". 7th was Olivia Wilde, 8th Nina Dobrev of "The Vampire Diaries", 9th Kat Dennings from "2 Broke Girls", 10th Kaley Cuoco "The Big Bang Theory & in last was Anna Torv of "Fringe" in her 3rd finals. There was a staggering 17 lead changes on day 1. Lawrence & Palmer had 5 each, Emily Bett Rickards had 3 leads, Anna Silk, Anna Torv, Stana Katic & Kat Dennings also had the leads breifly the 1st day. Eventually the top 2 would seperate from the rest of the pacl, Palmer & Lawrence would switch the leads another 9 times over the final 6 days of voting. Jennifer Lawrence set a new record for votes in this category with 1114, Zoie Palmer also broke the previous record held by Erica Durance of 909 in 2011. Best Program Category leader was a finalist for best New Program last year. The Canadian sci-fi cop from the future show "Continuum" beat out former 2X champ "Supernatural" 488 to 446 votes. Not too far back in 3rd is 2X finalist contender "Lost Girl" at 431 votes. Rounding out the top 5, 1st time finalist "Doctor Who" & 2011 best New Program winner "Once Upon A Time". The rest of the finalists are - "Game Of Thrones", "Haven", 3X finalist "Fringe" & the defending champion "The Walking Dead" who limped in to the finals in the last spot. Missing the finals - "Grimm" & 2010 finalist "Warehouse 13" were well back at 60 & 61 votes behind. Best Actor category, after a 1 year anomoly last year that saw a member of The Walking Dead win, seems to once again be going all Supernatural's way. The 2010 Best Actor & 2011 winner of this category Jensen Ackles finds himself in a battle with his co-star, Misha Collins. Collins narrowly beating the 2X champ by just 3 votes 610 to 607. Back in 3rd is "Continuum" leading man Victor Webster at 385 votes. Rounding out the top 5. the 3x finalist Jared Padalecki "Supernatural" & Robert Carlyle "Once Upon A Time". The rest of the finalists are - Kris Holden-Ried "Lost Girl", Stephen Lobo "Continuum", Eric Balfour "Haven", defending champion Norman Reedus "The Walking Dead", Peter Dinklage "Game Of Thrones" & Tom Mison "Sleepy Hollow". The Best Director category in only its 2nd year & so far its been almost all Supernatural running away with it. Winning last years & runner up, they look poised to try & do that again this year with 4 finalists. Philip Sgriccia "Sacrifice" (Supernatural) led with 137 votes, just 9 ahead of last years runner up, back for another crack at it with 2 finalists Guy Norman Bee "Devil May Care" at 128 votes & "Taxi Driver" (Supernatural) in 4th with 113. Sandwiched in between the pair of finalists from Bee is Jeannot Szwarc "LARP And The Real Girl" (Supernatural) at 123 votes. Rounding out the top 5 is a non-SPN challenger John Fawcett "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" (Orphan Black) Other finalists are - David Barrett "Sacrifice" (Arrow), Joel Wyman "An Enemy Of Fate" (Fringe), Brad Falchuk "The Quarterback" (Glee) & Shawn Piller "Fallout" (Haven). The Best Couple category is again looking like it will be "Lost Girl" VS the rest. The 2011 winners & 2012 runner-ups are again coming out swinging in the early rounds. The 1st ever same sex couple to get nominated in the awards, Bo & Dr. Lauren Lewis "Lost Girl" grabbed 871 votes in round 2, more than the next 3 combined. Well back in 2nd was Rumplestiltskins Storybrooke alias Mr. Gold & Belle from "Once Upon A Time" at 334, the 2012 champs crime fighting duo Richard Castle & Kate Beckett from "Castle" were 3rd with 260. In 4th was easily the most awkward couple on TV Dr. Sheldon Cooper & Amy Farrah Fowler of "The Big Bang Theory". Rounding out the top 5 are the real lie soon to be parents TV characters Prince Charming & Snow White from "Once Upon A Time". On the mens side. 1/2 of last years top 10 list didnt make the finals this year. While a "Supernatural" star did top the polls again, this time it wasnt 2X winner Jensen Ackles. In fact Mr. Ackles finished 2nd with 616 votes, well behind his castmate Misha Collins at 721 votes. In 3rd is 2012 5th place finalist & 2011 9th place finalist Gale Harold at 427 votes. The final part of the "Supernatural" trio Jared Padalecki nabbed 4th with 397 votes and the man best known as "Sherlock Holmes" Benedict Cumberbatch came in 5th with 349 votes. The rest of the finalists are Mads Mikkelsen from "Hannibal", "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth, "Arrow" star Stephen Amell, the iconic Johnny Depp, Colin O'Donoghue from "Once Upon A Time" Tom Mison of "Sleepy Hollow" & "Captain America" Chris Evans. Missing the finals were Ian Somerhalder by 19 votes & Chris Pine by 20. A bit further further back were last years finalists Kris Holden-Ried 61 votes back, and Tom Welling a distant 116 votes back. The ladies also had some new blood in the finals. Last years 6th place finalist Jennifer Lawrence from "The Hunger Games" franchise led the way with 495 votes narrowly nudging the 2 time runner-up Zoie Palmer of "Lost Girl" with 486, rounding out the top 3 is another "Lost Girl" Anna Silk who will make the finals for her 3rd time in a row with 302 votes. Newcomer to the finals is "Arrow" star Emily Bett Rickards with 235 & former 2X finlist Olivia Wilde with 184 round out the top 5. A minimum of 3, maximimum of 7 appearances is what is required. Perfect example is the leader going into the finals, "Hawaii Five-O" star Michelle Borth. Potentially a full timer down the road, she has yet to get enough credits to be completely considered one (at the time of the nominations). Runner ups were 2 "Supernatural" girls Rachel Miner & Liane Balaban. 4th goes to "Dexter" bad girl Yvonne Strahovski and the final spot goes to "Fringe" short term actress Georgina Haig. Two Once Upon A Time cast were narrowly edged out as Barbara Hershey & Jamie Chung just missed the list.
