The 4th annual "Best Of TV Awards" will be taking place soon, but first, we need to know who you think should be nominated.

ALL FINALISTS FROM 2012 that are still eligible this year in their category are already automatically nominated.
All finalists from 2012 who have too many or too few credits to meet the requirements of the category this year, may have been re-assigned to the category they now qualify for.
All 2013 Peoples Choice, Golden Globes & Emmy Awards finalists have also been automatically nominated in their category of choice, or, if credit requirements are not met, re-assigned to the proper category.

Guidelines for nominations
Best Actor/Actress categories - Minimum 8 appearances in 2013 (for actors/actresses of new shows, please nominate them in Recurring or Guest Star category, if by the time of voting they have met the requirements, they will be promoted to the Actor/Actress categories) on the show they are being nominated for.
Best Recurring categories - (formerly "supporting") Minimum 3 - Maximum 7 episodes in 2013 (nominees may be upgraded to the main category if they get past 7 episodes between the time of their nomination & the voting starts) on the show they are being nominated for.
Best Guest Star category - Minimum 1 - Maximum 2 episodes in 2013 (nominees may be promoted to Recurring, or even to main categories if their episode totals exceed 2 after the time of their nomination 7 before the time of voting) on the show they are being nominated for.
Best Show categories - For shows who aired PRIOR to 2013 (even if only 1 episode) and still airing IN 2013 (even if only 1 episode)
Best New Show Category - Premiere date was in the year 2013. Shows not yet aired, but have a definitive 2013 airing date can be nominated.
Favorite categories - Any show or actor on TV in 2013 can be eligible in their assigned categories.
Best Talk Show Host - Any person who interviews guests for a talk show format. Day time or Night time.
Best Director - For directing an episode in the year 2013 that aired prior to the start of the voting process.
Best Episode - For an episode with an original airing date in the year 2013 that aired prior to the start of the voting process.
Best Couple - Must have shared some romantic element (married, dating, 1 night hook up, a kiss with clear romantic tone) on the show in the year of 2013.
Sexiest actor/actress - Any actor or actress, on TV or in Movies over the age of 18.
Best Non-Human Character or Prop - Any character or prop NOT PLAYED by a human.
Best Youth Actor/Actress - Minimum 3 episodes on a TV program in the year 2013, under the age of 20 years at the start of the 2013 calendar year.
Best Newcomer - Actor/actress who has never had a recurring or lead TV role, or lead movie role prior to a role they started in 2013 that they have played at least 3 episodes of. 

To be eligible, a show, character, actor or other, must have met the guidelines for inclusion in the year 2013 ONLY. No shows that ended in 2012 or prior are eligible for any nominations.

The Best Director of 2012 as voted by you the fans was.. JENSEN ACKLES "Heartache" (Supernatural).

One small drawback from polls open to the public...they become popularity contests. While I will say, I enjoyed the episode Jensen Ackles directed, I would say hes an adequate TV director for now. None the less, he is this years winner. This win gives him 7 awards here in 3 years. He apparently can win awards he probably should not even be nominated for. Got to feel bad for Guy Norman Bee getting beat by someone he himself has directed.

Jensen beat runner up another "Supernatural" director Guy Normal Bee by 343 votes, and was 141 votes ahead of 3rd. The 3rd & 4th went to "Fringe" directors, Joe Chappelle & Jon Cassar were 12 votes apart. Ernest R. Dickerson from "The Walking Dead' came in 5th ahead of David Crabtree of "Psych" to round out the finalists.

This was the 1st ever Director award handed out. The top 2 in this category were both write in nominees, I cant recall a category previously in the 2 years prior where that has happened before.

The Non-Human Category still seems to confuse some people, as the nomination round saw lots of votes wasted on characters that were clearly played BY humans (making them void). In the semi-finals, with no write in voting allowed, a more clear path emerged for the contenders. With a small delegation of fans from Person Of Interest fan boards finding these awards, they made their mysterious all knowing device that spies on everyone "The Machine" the runaway leader in voting, beating out former champ "The Impala" from Supernatural. Last years runner up also dipped 1 spot as Gene the cow from "Fringe" came in 3rd. Newcomer to the finalists "The Blueberry" from Psych, and rounding out your 2012 BOTVA Finalists the cleverly named monkey from Community "Annies Boobs".

Best Episode category had the same 2 shows that were the leaders after the nomination round leading the semi-finals. USA Network comedy-crime drama Psych episode "Heeeeere's Lassie" was top again with The CW Networks Supernatural episode "The Girl With The Dungeon And Dragons Tattoo" coming in 2nd. Another Supernatural episode was 3rd "Survival Of The Fittest" while Castle nabbed a 4th spot with "Undead Again", edging out 2 Fringe episodes in 5th & 6th "The End Of All Things" & "Brave New World Pt 1&2". "Before The Dying Fire" From The Walking Dead, "Linchpin" Castle, "Are You...?" Dexter, and "Santabarbaratown" Psych round out the rest of the finalists. Not making the list were the 3rd & 4th ranked shows from the nominations round, both from rookie CW Network show, Arrow.

The Best Director category has been taken over by the Supernatural fans, as they pushed through the shows star Jensen Ackles in the nomination round with write in votes since he directed an episode, as well regular director there Guy Norman Bee in 2nd. Jon Cassar & Joe Chappelle, both from Fringe episodes nabbed 3rd & 4th. David Crabtree for an episode from Psych, and Ernest R. Dickerson for an episode from The Walking Dead are the other finalists.

I dont usually speak up on voting decisions...but I am going to here. Jensen Ackles is a COMPETENT director from what I've seen..but Best? No. There are categories on here for favorite character, sexiest actor/actress, even the Best Actor/actress categories are more open to debate, but Jensen Ackles as best director would be a farce and you all know it...anfy of you saying otherwise are crazy. Did you legitimately watch the episode he directed & think "wow, that episode was put together far better than any other I've seen this year"?? No, you didnt. in the finals, try voting on the product you saw, and not the name attached to it.

The other 4 spots in the finals were taken by couples that have had merged nicknames by their fanbases, Richard Castle & Kate Beckett, more affectionately known as "Caskett" by the Castle fans came in 2nd, "POlivia" the Fringe couple of Peter Bishop & Olivia Dunham were 3rd, the real life couple James Roday & Maggie Lawson characters Shawn Spencer & Juliet O'Hara aka "Shules" from Psych nabbed 4th ahead of The Big Bang Theory super brained odd couple "ShAmy" Sheldon Cooper & Amy Farrah Fowler. Slightly shocking to me was that the Once Upon A Time couple of Snow & Charming didnt make the finals & more shockingly The Vampire Diaries "Delena" didnt even seem to register a pulse.

The Director category had an astonishing THREE write in nominees make it to the semi-finals.
