Once a candidate has been nominated once, no more nominations are required.... so please don't nominate people already listed above The Best New TV Program of 2012 as voted by you the fans was.. ARROW (CW).
From the beginning this was really a 2 horse race. Arrow won the nomination round, Elementary won the semi-finals, with Arrow of course taking the finals. No other show finshed 1st or 2nd in any of the rounds. Seems this year was all about characters people already knew facing off as The CW version of The Green Arrow faced off with the Americanized version of Sherlock Holmes. The 2 shows really have been stand alone top of the class in a fairly thin rookie class. While I have watched & enjoyed all 5 of the finalists, these 2 really are the ones that have stepped up their game & its no coincidence you fans agreed. If there was 1 ommission in my own opinion from the list, it was The Newsroom, which failed to make it to the finals. It was kind of cool to see 2 based in Vancouver shows make the finals. Continuum, based in 2012 with "flashbacks..errr flashforwards...what do you call it?) to 2077 & the dinosaur roaming thru our city sci-fi hit take on the British version of the show "Primeval" Primeval: New World both garnered enough support to get into the finals book ending a cancelled ABC action/drama show "Last Resort" Arrow beat runner up Elementary by 67 votes, 3rd place Continuum was 177 votes back, ahead of 4th place Last Resort by just 4 votes. Rounding out the finalists Primeval: New World finished 56 votes back For the second year in a row a Vancouver made show won the Best New Show honours. This is the 1st win for the CW network in the category (AMC & ABC previously winning). Final vote totals Arrow (CW) 374 Elementary (CBS) 307 Continuum (Showcase) 130 Last Resort (ABC) 126 Primeval: New World (Space) 70 Best Of TV Awards 2012 Finalsts For - Best Comedy, Action/drama, sci-fi/fantasy and New Program12/31/2012 Here are the results for the Semi-finals categories of the Canadagraphs BEST OF TV AWARDS 2012.
This set of categories dealt with Bes tcomedy, sci-fi/fantasy, action/drama & New Program, . FINALISTS are in BOLD text. The Best Comedy show category looks to be potentially a 3peat for the gang from CBS nerdy comedy The Big Bang Theory. CBS "How I Met Your Mother" last years runner up comes in 3rd, USA Network fake-psychic crime dramedy "Psych" comes in 4th after finishing 5th last year. CBS crime drama remake "Hawaii Five-O" went from 3rd to 2nd in voting this round. The 2011 winners in this category ABC crime drama "Castle" nabbed 3rd, also 1 spot up from their nomination round spot of 4th.
