Arrow has 2 of the top 3, including John Behring for "Unthinkable" as the top vote getter, narrowly beating out 2012 winner Jensen Ackles for "Soul Survivor" on Supernatural. Douglas Aarniokoski on "Seeing Red" rounds out the bookends of the Arrow Supernatural Arrow trio. Amanda Tapping managed 2 finalist spots with her 2 part Continuum episodes. Besides 2012 winner Ackles, Pamela Fryman "How Your Mother Met Me" is the only other previous contender for Best Director, making the semi-finals last year. Last years winning show Glee, had no finalists this year as their 2 semi-finalist contenders did not advance. The Best Episode category, aka - "favorite Supernatural episode" in the years past could be a hard one to predict. Supernatural is well represented in the finals. SEVEN finalists for the 3X Winning show, Arrow and Lost Girl managed 5, while Castle has 4. While it would SEEM to be a safe bet with Arrow & Supernatural dominating the top 8 spots that they are a shoe in to win, theres then the fact that in the finals the amount of challengers you can vote for will be limited to 2 or 3. Vote splitting is always a problem when a show shoves too many of its challengers into a finals. Perhaps The Flash or Murdoch Mysteries with their 1 singular nominee will win because their fans will not be split on who to vote for. Also, an error occurred in listing for a couple days of this category. One of the Arrow finalists, The Secret Origins Of Felicity Smoak was mistakenly listed as Draw Back Your Bow for awhile, so if you voted for DBYB & wonder where it is.... is was changed to TSOOFS during the round after the error was noticed. Lost Girl goes into the finals as the favorite in Stunts ahead of Arrow in 2nd, Supernatural in 3rd and Game Of Thrones in 4th. Best Writing also had Lost Girl lead the way in the semi-finals. Hannibal was close behind in 2nd, Castle 3rd, Supernatural 4th and Game Of Thrones, Sherlock & Arrow all tightly bunched in 5th thru 7th. The TARDIS from Doctor Who won this round in its 1st ever year of being nominated, despite being on the air throughout the existence of the BOTVA's. Only 2 of last years finalists, The Impala and last years runner up Rumplestiltskin's Dagger made the finals this year. In fact, Bear from Person of Interest is the ONLY other semi-finalist from last year to even make it this year. On the talk show host side. Nothing much changes. Ellen Degeneres again looks poised for a 3rd consecutive title as she handily won the semi-finals, as she has in the previous years. All of last years finalists made this years finals as well. Also making it are newcomer John Oliver, and retiring legend David Letterman, who did not even make the semi-finals last year. A long time force in the BOTVA's has been Supernatural. Winner of 10 awards this year, giving them 30 total awards in the 4 years of the awards. Supernatural, a story about two brothers Sam & Dean & doing the "family business". Killing demons & hunting things took a different approach this year, the Winchesters found themselves more often this past year working with demons and the King Of Hell, while killing a prophet, seeing their angelic friend become human, then an angel again & Sam getting possessed by an angel & the king of hell. Yep, just another year for them. SPN took 692 votes this year to give them a comfortable lead over runner ups "Lost Girl" at 582 votes. In 3rd was another CW show "Arrow" missed the runner up spot narrowly with 574 votes. In 4th was "Doctor Who" in 5th "Once Upon A Time" in 6th "Castle" in 7th "Game Of Thrones" in 8th "Continuum" in 9th "The Big Bang Theory" in 10th "Orphan Black" in 11th "Hannibal" in 12th "Hawaii Five-O" in 13th "The Walking Dead" in 14th "Sleepy Hollow" & in 15th "Fringe". Arrow & Game Of Thrones held leads on day 1, along with Supernatural. Day 2 & 3 SPN kept the lead, gave it to Lost Girl momentarily on day 3, before reclaiming itDay 5 saw SPN & Lost Girl change leads 4 times. Day 6 Lost Girl had the lead & SPN eventually took over & pulled away as they pushed a single digit lead to a 50+ vote lead in less than 8 hrs. This was the 10th award for Supernatural this year, setting a new record for wins in 1 year. Previous record held by Supernatural in 2012 with 9. Winning their 3rd honour in 4 years in this category, the sci-fi hit for The CW dominated the category again, after a 1 year hiatus as champs. "Supernatural" pulled in 680 votes, by far the least of their 4 years, but still enough to win in what was an unusually lower than usual voted on category. In 2nd was "Lost Girl" with 520 total votes. In 3rd is the British hit "Doctor Who" with 516 votes. In 4th "Haven". In 5th "Game Of Thrones". In 6th "Once Upon A Time". In 7th "Continuum". In 8th "The Walking Dead". In 9th "Fringe". Day 1 had Supernatural in the lead shortly, then Haven. Haven held on for Days 2 & part of 3, before Lost Girl passed them, then later in the day Supernatural passed them all & never gave up the lead again. The Favorite TV Program category is in its 2nd year, and the defending champ miiiight have some competition this year. "Continuum" a sci-fi drama about a cop from the future stuck in 2013 Vancouver, Canada chasing a group of escape prisoners from 2077 was the leader in semi-final voting with 458 votes. Defending champ "Supernatural" the world saving brother hunters came in 2nd with 425 votes. In 3rd is last years 3rd place finalist "Lost Girl" with 395. Rounding out the top 5 are "Once Upon A Time" & "Doctor Who". The rest of the finalists - "Arrow", "Game Of Thrones", "The Big Bang Theory", "Fringe", "Castle", "The Walking Dead", "Orphan Black", "Sleepy Hollow", "Hawaii Five-O" & "Hannibal". Missing the finals - "Agents Of SHIELD" by 17 votes, "Person of Interest" by 23 votes. Only finalist from last year not in this years finals is "Dexter" which did not even make the semi-finals. Best Program Category leader was a finalist for best New Program last year. The Canadian sci-fi cop from the future show "Continuum" beat out former 2X champ "Supernatural" 488 to 446 votes. Not too far back in 3rd is 2X finalist contender "Lost Girl" at 431 votes. Rounding out the top 5, 1st time finalist "Doctor Who" & 2011 best New Program winner "Once Upon A Time". The rest of the finalists are - "Game Of Thrones", "Haven", 3X finalist "Fringe" & the defending champion "The Walking Dead" who limped in to the finals in the last spot. Missing the finals - "Grimm" & 2010 finalist "Warehouse 13" were well back at 60 & 61 votes behind. Best Actor category, after a 1 year anomoly last year that saw a member of The Walking Dead win, seems to once again be going all Supernatural's way. The 2010 Best Actor & 2011 winner of this category Jensen Ackles finds himself in a battle with his co-star, Misha Collins. Collins narrowly beating the 2X champ by just 3 votes 610 to 607. Back in 3rd is "Continuum" leading man Victor Webster at 385 votes. Rounding out the top 5. the 3x finalist Jared Padalecki "Supernatural" & Robert Carlyle "Once Upon A Time". The rest of the finalists are - Kris Holden-Ried "Lost Girl", Stephen Lobo "Continuum", Eric Balfour "Haven", defending champion Norman Reedus "The Walking Dead", Peter Dinklage "Game Of Thrones" & Tom Mison "Sleepy Hollow". Best Actress category, the defending champion is OUT. Hows that for a tough category to crack? Finalist last year Zoie Palmer "Lost Girl" who plays Dr. Lauren Lewis, a regular finalist on our awards & season end contests, led voting in the semi-finals with 462 votes. In 2nd was BOTVA finalist newcomer "Continuum" lead actress Rachel Nichols at 437. Another "Lost Girl" finalist in 3rd as former 2X finalist Anna Silk had 344 votes. Rounding out the top 5 - Emilia Clarke "Game Of Thrones" & finalist last year Ksenia Solo "Lost Girl" The rest of the finalists - Lots of newcomers Tatiana Maslany "Orphan Black", Emily Rose "Haven" & Emilie de Ravin "Once Upon A Time" & Lexa Doig "Continuum" all in for their 1st time & finalist last year Lana Parrilla "Once Upon A Time" .
