The Best Of TV Awards 2013 winner in the category of Favorite TV Program is Supernatural (CW). A long time force in the BOTVA's has been Supernatural. Winner of 10 awards this year, giving them 30 total awards in the 4 years of the awards. Supernatural, a story about two brothers Sam & Dean & doing the "family business". Killing demons & hunting things took a different approach this year, the Winchesters found themselves more often this past year working with demons and the King Of Hell, while killing a prophet, seeing their angelic friend become human, then an angel again & Sam getting possessed by an angel & the king of hell. Yep, just another year for them. SPN took 692 votes this year to give them a comfortable lead over runner ups "Lost Girl" at 582 votes. In 3rd was another CW show "Arrow" missed the runner up spot narrowly with 574 votes. In 4th was "Doctor Who" in 5th "Once Upon A Time" in 6th "Castle" in 7th "Game Of Thrones" in 8th "Continuum" in 9th "The Big Bang Theory" in 10th "Orphan Black" in 11th "Hannibal" in 12th "Hawaii Five-O" in 13th "The Walking Dead" in 14th "Sleepy Hollow" & in 15th "Fringe". Arrow & Game Of Thrones held leads on day 1, along with Supernatural. Day 2 & 3 SPN kept the lead, gave it to Lost Girl momentarily on day 3, before reclaiming itDay 5 saw SPN & Lost Girl change leads 4 times. Day 6 Lost Girl had the lead & SPN eventually took over & pulled away as they pushed a single digit lead to a 50+ vote lead in less than 8 hrs. This was the 10th award for Supernatural this year, setting a new record for wins in 1 year. Previous record held by Supernatural in 2012 with 9. The Best Of TV Awards 2013 winner in the category of Best Sci-Fi or Fantasy Actress is Zoie Palmer "Lost Girl". The fanbase for "Lost Girl" has show over the years here they are a passionate bunch. Constantly contenders for show & actress awards, Finally, they have their 1st major award here, as Zoie Palmer takes the 2013 Best Sci-Fi or Fantasy Actress award. With the 2012 winner Jennifer Morrison missing the finals, and the runner up Anna Torv not eligible for the award, Palmer, 4th in 2012, was suddenly a serious consideration for 2013 & narrowly won, beating out "Game Of Thrones" Emilia Clarke by 3 votes, 505 to 502. In 3rd was Emily Rose "Haven" which I would consider the 2013 break-out show for making an impact here, with 493 votes. In 4th was Lana Parrilla "Once Upon A Time". In 5th Tatiana Maslany "Orphan Black". In 6th Rachel Nichols "Continuum". In 7th Emilie de Ravin "Once Upon A Time". In 8th Anna Silk "Lost Girl". In 9th Ksenia Solo "Lost Girl". In 10th Lexa Doig "Continuum". Day 1 Emily Rose took a quick & large lead & held on to it thru most of the voting. Day 5 Zoie Palmer took the lead. Day 7 Palmer & Emilia Clarke shared the lead 6 times between them before Palmer managed to hold on in the end. Zoie Palmer win by just 3 votes is the smallest in category history. Previous record was 212 in 2012 by Jennifer Morrison. Probably the most contested award this year, the New Program category eventually found its winner in the rookie drama about con-woman Sarah Manning (Tatiana Maslany) & her clones. The drama drew rave reviews this year & even saw Maslany nominated for major awards for her portrayal of various versions of the same person. Orphan Black won with 433 votes. Runner up, "Hannibal" had 405 votes. In 3rd was "Sleepy Hollow" with 399 votes. In 4th "Almost Human". In 5th "Marvel Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D". In 6th "The Blacklist". In 7th "The Originals". In 8th "The Tomorrow People". In 9th "Under The Dome". In 10th "Dracula". Day 1 had over 40 lead changes. mainly among the top 4, but The Originals & Agents of SHIELD also held the lead on day 1. Day 2 was Sleepy Hollow & Hannibal with the leads. Day 3 was Orphan Black & Sleepy Hollow. Day 4 saw all 3 of the top 3 lead again. Day 5 was Hannibal & Orphan Black. Day 6 saw Orphan Black open a small lead & never relinquished the lead again, but did get down to as low as 5 vote lead on the final day before a final push to close it out strong. Just like the ladies of Supernatural, the recurring men have dominated this category. Winning the 3rd consecutive Best recurring actor (formerly "Supporting actor") honour, this time the winner would be Osric Chau with 731 votes. Well back in 2nd was the current record holder for acting awards finals appearances John Noble (1 with Sleepy Hollow) in his 4th & final attempt to win an award for "Fringe" with 301 votes. In 3rd Nikolaj Coster-Waldau "Game Of Thrones" was able to take the spot with 258 votes. Joshua Jackson "Fringe" was 4th. Adam Copeland "Haven" & Raphael Sbarge "Once Upon A Time" were tied for 5th. The director of probably the most talked about episode of Glee in recent years, Brad Falchuk won the honour of Best Director with his work on "The Quarterback", an episode that was surely a challenge for not just the cast, but the crew too as they paid tribute to 1 of their shows biggest stars after the death of Cory Monteith. Falchuk won with 496 votes. Runner up was Philip Sgriccia for the (Supernatural) season finale "Sacrifice" with 450 votes. In 3rd was David Barrett for his work on (Arrow) finale "Sacrifice" with 429 votes. Rounding out the top 5 were Guy Norman Bee "Devil May Care" (Supernatural) who was a runner up last year on a different Supernatural episode came in 4th. Defending champ "Supernatural" the world saving brother hunters came in 2nd with 425 votes. In 3rd is last years 3rd place finalist "Lost Girl" with 395. Not too far back in 3rd is 2X finalist contender "Lost Girl" at 431 votes. Rounding out the top 5, 1st time finalist "Doctor Who" & 2011 best New Program winner "Once Upon A Time". The rest of the finalists are - "Game Of Thrones", "Haven", 3X finalist "Fringe" & the defending champion "The Walking Dead" who limped in to the finals in the last spot. Missing the finals - "Grimm" & 2010 finalist "Warehouse 13" were well back at 60 & 61 votes behind. Best Actor category, after a 1 year anomoly last year that saw a member of The Walking Dead win, seems to once again be going all Supernatural's way. The 2010 Best Actor & 2011 winner of this category Jensen Ackles finds himself in a battle with his co-star, Misha Collins. Collins narrowly beating the 2X champ by just 3 votes 610 to 607.
