APOLOGIES IF YOU CAME THE OTHER DAY AND DID NOT SEE A VIDEO - I had to remove it temporarily, as Youtube had deemed it not ad friendly, due to me talking about COVID-19 in it. I had to remove that whole piece, now its OK'ed.... so I can put it back up. Since I had to remove that part, I will add a breakdown of what I said in here. So, watch the video, then read on below, or vice-a-versa. If you have been paying attention to the Supergirl fandom for a while, you might have heard rumblings for a few months about the possibility that Supergirl would only be 20 episodes in season 5. Well, till recently, they were just rumours. But now, confirmation has come in the way of their production schedule being reduced by almost a month. While the decision for this change was surely done a while ago, it is now just public knowledge, as these things usually are not made public till late in a production (usually its for a time extension. Not too common it is a reduction). Will the new Superman & Lois have any impact on it? Did Melissa Benoist get a new role on a different project? Has the threat of COVID-19 caused things to wrap early (had to remove that part.... so its right here in the next paragraph)? Since the new pandemic COVID-19 (more commonly known as the "coronavirus" which is misleading a bit, since theres many strains of Coronavirus, but COVID-19 is this specific strain) has become such a notable thing. Especially here in Vancouver where 9 cases of it have been reported in the last month, and right across the border from us in Washington State they have had 9 deaths from it. People are wondering if the panic about this virus is to blame for the quick end. No. Plain and simply, it is not. This was planned long before this was even a thing anyone had heard of. On top of that, the likelyhood ANY current crews would stop for it is low. The cause for concern would have to skyrocket, and quick, for that to happen as most projects have 4 to 5 weeks left of filming. Now COULD it have an impact come next seasons filming? Maybe. If things get notably worse between here and late June, there absolutely could be enough concern to delay filming till the pandemic has become greatly minimized. But that is an issue they will not think about till closer to the time of filming for that. As for this season, barring it hitting a specific crew hard (not talking 1 or 2 cases, but enough that work cant be done), it is very unlikely they would halt production this close to the end of season. In the video below, I break down the most likely reason, and debunk some of the most discussed rumours that have popped up about it.

THIS BLOG POST IS FOR SUPERGIRL SEASON 5 EPISODE 16 TITLED "ALEX IN WONDERLAND", AND IT MAY CONTAIN POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR THE EPISODE.
If you have not seen the episode, and do not want to see or read possible spoilers about it prior to seeing it, do not continue reading the article or viewing the photos below. . . . last warning . . If I file a takedown notice on you, it really is on you for not educating yourself. If you are confused on how many you can post, ASK FIRST, and I will let you know. I caught up with Supergirl shooting in Surrey at Guildford Mall for episode 516. The director is Tawnia McKiernan. (you may know her name from 4 other Supergirl episodes in the past, including last weeks episode "The Bottle Episode). This was a rare venture for me, as I dont usually go all the way out to Surrey for anything. But a combination of boredom, and an instagram post from Chyler Leigh got me curious enough to go out and check it out. Unfortunately, I missed the scenes Chyler did in her new costume. I saw her double later dressed in some of the outfit, but not the whole thing. What I did see though, and the context of the scene that was mentioned over & over again by the crew as they let the man on stage who at this time I only know by his character name of "Rock Starman" (is there any more of a music name than that??) know what is going on. The scene has Rock performing on a stage, when suddenly a dragon comes in (obviously to be CGIed in later) and "Supergirl" comes in and saves the day. After its realized the threat has been thwarted, Rock gives an acknowledgement towards Supergirl and continues playing. Not long after that scene, they did a scene with a mob of people rushing to the stage to cheer..... then, they wrapped. The location of this concert was at a place called "Obsidian North Platinum" in a location called "Virtual National City Mall", so was this concert for top tier members of Obsidian? I did find out a couple things, obviously the most important info being the episode number, and episode title. An episode focused on Alex being Supergirl makes some sense when you realize that Melissa Benoist is directing episode 17, and would be busy with prep for that episode right now. Now HOW she ends up that way.... we will have to wait and see. Below are some photos form the set. But here also is a video of a scene with Alex coming in that a twitter user caught there.
Here are some of the photos I took from the set below. If anyone knows the name of the man playing "Rock Starman" feel free to let me know, and I will credit him accordingly.

UPDATE: December 4, 2019 - Video added at the bottom of the two exterior Lena scenes, and the exterior Supergirl scenes. I caught up with Supergirl shooting in downtown Vancouver yesterday at a place called Hornby Plaza for episode 513.... which just happens to also be the shows 100th episode. Frequent Supergirl director Jessie Warn is directing it. For the first shoot of the morning, they did a walk & talk scene with Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor, along with a couple returning guest stars. First up was Sam Witwer as Ben Lockwood who calls out to Lena after she comes out of L-Corp with a security guard. Lena invites Ben to walk with her & they have a chat. They stop in front of a black panel van (because I guess they had to make things easy) where the talk continues. When Lena decides to leave, her bodyguard actually blocks her path for leaving, she then looks at Ben and he implies with body language for her to get into the van. A bit after that another part of the scene was shot where Ben is still standing just behind her, but now another guest star Robert Baker as Otis Graves is now in front of her where the guard was. Otis covers Lenas head with a black bag, and they proceed to put Lena into the van. After that scene wrapped, they moved into the middle of Hornby Plaza to shoot a scene with a pile of people holding signs outside of the courthouse. Along with them was Chad Lowe as Thomas Coville, and a woman playing a reporter. She asks Thomas why he thinks Lena did not give up Supergirls ID. After that scene, it was the one that was big enough it even had the paps out for once. Melissa Benoist showed up to set to play Kara Danvers/Supergirl for a scene. This of course was her first public shoot since her 14 minute Instagram video the other day where she disclosed that she has been a victim of domestic violence in the past. She showed up to shoot her scene already in wardrobe. She was dressed as Kara in a dark floral printed shirt, with a beige jacket over it. The scene sees her make her way through a crowd up to a stage with a few microphones in front of it. She then talks for about 30 seconds or so, which at the end of it, she takes a huge sigh, proclaims she is Supergirl and rips open her shirt to reveal her Supergirl attire under neath. Of course, you can speculate on if this is real, or a dream. I would find it hard to believe she would do this in the real world.... but who really knows? Yet. Later they moved the production over to the Vancouver Trade & Convention Centre to do a couple scenes in there. I didnt stick around for those scenes as it was indoors, and, by that point I was very tired and very sore from being in the pouring rain all day. So I took a break. But I DO know the only two main cast on set for it were Melissa & Katie... and it was a courtroom scene. After that scene, they moved back to the plaza for a night scene. The night scene had Katie as Lena again on set, this time with returning guest star Odette Annable as Samantha Arias. The scene had the pair walking along and talking. Eventually, they stop, talk some more, while the pair hold hands, then they share a hug at the end of the take. A little while later the crew wrapped for the night, and the cast left, but not before stopping for the very damp fans that were still there. There will also be some video added later on. Possibly today, but definitely this week. So check back for that. It will cover several scenes. And lastly. Supergirl films scenes for episode 508 with Melissa Benoist, David Harewood and Mitch Pileggi9/25/2019 THIS BLOG POST IS FOR SUPERGIRL SEASON 5 EPISODE 8 TITLED "The Wrath of Rama Kahn", AND MAY CONTAIN POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR THE EPISODE. I caught up with Supergirl shooting in North Vancouver yesterday at a place called "The Shipyards" near Lonsdale Quay for episode 508, directed by Marcus Stokes. There was some scenes early in the day that I will do a separate blog on later on with Julie Gonzalo, Mitch Pileggi and an unknown woman. This post will focus on the scenes shot later in the morning & through the afternoon. Melissa Benoist as Supergirl was on set publicly in her costume for the first time since her recent wedding to former Supergirl actor Chris Wood. She seemed to be in all sorts of good moods through out the early part of the day. David Harewood as J'onn J'onzz and Mitch Pileggi as Rama Kahn joined Melissa on set for these scenes. The scenes the trio shot were taking place in the "National City Tar Pits". The scene had the two heroes show up at one end of a dinosaur exhibit, Supergirl holding a gun from Luthor Corp. After arriving J'onn and Supergirl looked at each other a bit confused as if they werent sure what the problem was, then a couple moments later an earthquake happens, sending the non-aliens there to the ground. At the other end, Rama Kahn was standing there, seemingly waiting for the confrontation with the heroes. Supergirl yells out his name at him, and he replies to her with her name and references to an apparent prior interaction they had elsewhere. After the conversation between the two, the heroes decide to run at Rama (why cant they fly at him? Why are they running at regular human speed?). A bit later, they did another scene with the trio. Rama now standing further back in the exhibit, J'onn on the outer edge of the exhibit, and Supergirl in the middle, still with her "sonic cannon" (what I heard it being called by a crew member) gun near a crater that was now on the ground. Rama "throws sand" at J'onn which irritates him enough that he leaves where he was standing and moves over to where Supergirl is. The two heroes then have a chat which ends with J'onn leaving, and Supergirl seemingly being left to take on the big bad by herself. She also did a scene where she seems to shoot the gun in the direction of Rama Kahn. Whether it had any impact is unknown. At the beginning of her shooting day, Melissa showed up and surprised a group of school children that had stopped to watch the filming. She came over, high fiving them all, and even telling them a little bit of what she was going to do in the scene. A bit later, as any of you who follow her instagram already knew, Melissa decided to have some fun with some of the props on display. Melissa got up onto one of the dinos and had photos of her riding it like a bull, then went over and got a photo of her hugging a t-rex leg. Eventually my camera ran out of battery, and I decided it was a good time to call it a day. This is the last episode before they start shooing the 5 part Arrowverse cross over Crisis On Infinite Earths, so it will be interesting to see if anything happening in these scenes are connected to the mega-event. At the bottom of the page is video from the scenes. Supergirl VIDEOS - Episode 503 scene, and ep 501 Katie McGrath and Nicole Maines meeting fans8/15/2019 THIS BLOG POST IS FOR SUPERGIRL SEASON 5 EPISODE 3, TITLED "BLURRED LINES" AND MAY CONTAIN POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR THE EPISODE. If you have not seen the episode, and do not want to see or read possible spoilers about it prior to seeing it, do not continue reading the article or viewing the photos below. . . . last warning . . A reminder... DO NOT attempt to post the video to your own social media accounts or website. If you want to show your followers the video, you can do so by linking to this blog posts directly, or posting the original youtube link. Re-uploading it ANYWHERE and not simply linking to the original post will have it removed, and depending on the platform, could have your account suspended or terminated. In July, I caught up with Supergirl a few times out and about filming. Here are some videos from two different sets. First, was Katie McGrath and Nicole Maines meeting fans at the set of episode 501 at the Orpheum Theatre. Apologies on the 1 Katie video, for whatever reason, my camera was unclear what to focus on throughout the entire clip. So it does get blurry at times. You probably recognize the videos from the day that Nicole Maines posted on her social media about going to Five Guys Burgers in full wardrobe. At the end is some video of episode 503 being shot with Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers, Staz Nair as William Dey, and Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen. If you are watching & wondering whats wrong with the audio. DONT. Audio is removed to prevent any possible copyright issues on Youtube. On my site, it isnt a problem, but for YT, it can be an issue if some song is playing in the background as a vehicle goes by & suddenly some intern at a record company that thinks your stealing from the boss who doesnt pay them files a claim against you. Sooo, no audio for YT videos. You can find photos from the scene in the video HERE, as well as earlier on that day scenes with Chyler Leigh, Azie Tesfai, along with Melissa and Mehcad HERE When I have a few more minutes this weekend, there will also be video up of the Melissa, Mehcad and Staz scene, I will add the video in here when it is done. I caught up with the cast and crew of Supergirl filming in a couple places a couple weeks ago on back to back days. To start was some shooting in the downtown Eastside. They did scenes at two different spots there. First, in a firehall museum. I saw 2 cast and another person who I believe was in the scene go in & out of there, but dont know what the scene entailed. Melissa Benoist was dressed as Kara Danvers, Mehcad Brooks was dressed as James Olsen, and a 3rd person I saw go in & out who honestly, seemed to be barely clothed under a robe they had him wearing in & out of the museum. After that scene wrapped, they moved across the street to a bench at the front of a building. There they did a night scene with newcomer Staz Nair as William Dey, who at the time I did not know anything about. He shot a scene with an older bald man. The older man crosses the street, sits down next to William, talks to him, before handing him something, then getting up and leaving, before William does the same a couple moments later. The next day, I saw Staz again on set, with Melissa and Mehcad shooting a scene at a building in downtown Vancouver. Everyone seemed to be dressed the same as the day before, so I wonder if this was a continuation of any of those scenes, or set ups for them. This time however, the 3 of them were all in the scene together. It starts with William walking out of a building that they had Catco signs up around, before he is stopped by Kara. William then attempts to leave, when Kara invades his space and physically stops him from leaving. Eventually William does leave, just as James comes out and talks to Kara. Kara looks in the direction of where William was headed with an irked look on her face before James & Kara walk along in that same direction. What was the conversation about? Who knows. We will have to wait and see, but it was clear Kara was not impressed with any of it. During one break, Farley was brought over to the set by the driver to hang out with Melissa. Melissa picked him up for a couple moments and was carrying him. One last thing, I had some random person message me privately asking if Staz character was wearing a wedding ring. Apparently this is a big issue...... so let me just state, you can clearly see in a couple of the photos he is in fact wearing one. So whatever reason this mattered, theres your answer. His character appears to be married. You can find photos form a scene earlier on the 2nd day with Chyler Leigh, Azie Tesfai, along with Melissa and Mehcad HERE When I have a few more minutes this weekend, there will also be video up of the Melissa, Mehcad and Staz scene, I will add the video in here when it is done. I caught up with the cast and crew of Supergirl filming down near the Vancouver Trade & Convention Centre a few days ago. At this location, they had the walk thru courtyard between Hastings and Pender street set up with props for National City things. The episode is being directed by veteran director Eric Dean Seaton. In this scene Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers, Azie Tesfai as Kelly Olsen, and Mehcad Brooks, who recently announced he will be leaving this season, as James Olsen, were shooting a scene where they are out for a walk together. Because of the tight space of this area, it was kind of tough to piece together everything that was going on in the scene, but it seemed that Kara & Alex were walking together, when they were joined by Kelly and James. The group then walked together for a bit while chatting before they stop, then the Olsens go one way, while the Danvers go another. During the scene, at some point Kara has a some donuts as you can see from some of the photos. I remember one of the times when I was walking past the set, I noticed a stand selling things like donuts there, but never really paid it much attention at the time as I they had not filmed the part of the scene with the donuts yet. So I just thought it was another background prop. Before this scene, they did a scene inside of the Mink Chocolate Cafe that seemed to only have Kara from the main cast in it. No clue what was in there as it was all indoors. After this shoot, they moved down the street for another scene, which I will do another blog on this week with Melissa, Mehcad and newcomer to the show Staz Nair which includes a pretty interesting scene between the newcomer and Kara.
