You may NOT make 3 posts of just 1 part. Please make note of this rare bonus permission. The Flash was shooting scenes for episode 521 late yesterday at the back of the Law Courts in downtown Vancouver. A location they have used in the past (albeit slightly different part) as they were there for episode 209 when Mark Hamill used to still slip in for a year appearance. This was their 2nd night there in a row. You can find night 1 details and photos HERE. On this night the crew and a large portion of the cast shot several scenes that mostly seemed like continuations of the scene shot the night before with a couple small changes. The scenes shot this night included much of the same cast as the night before, but 1 addition, and 1 subtraction from the previous days work. A daytime scene was shot with Tom Cavanagh as Sherloque Wells and Kimberly Williams Paisley as Renee Adler (photos of this scene will be added later). It had Sherloque running hastily down a street to catch up to Renee who was sitting on a bench. The pair talk for a couple minutes, with Sherloque at one point trying to seem to drag her away, before Renee pauses that idea, and the pair talk. During the talk, Sherloque shows Renee something, and the look on her face was 1 of "what? seriously?" but what was it that had a meta-human so amazed? Sherloque seemed to be showing her an extrapolator. Was he giving it to her? or, was he showing it to her to tell her he could come and see her at any time? Is Sherloque saying his last good byes to Earth 1? The pair moved to a scene up on the upper courtyard of the law building after that, which gave me time to go home and get a quick nap before the night scenes. Once the night shoots started, they had 3 cast come in to shoot some scenes. Sometimes they were by themselves, sometimes with just 2 of them, and a few times with all 3 of them. Grant Gustin as The Flash, Jessica Parker Kennedy as XS and Sarah Carter as Cicada (or Shecada as many are calling her now). In the scene, it seems Flash & XS try to attack her with 1 of their lightning throws, and Shecada just stands there unfazed by it. She then does her classic jump away while Flash & XS seem to cower from the action. A couple interesting observations of Shecada in this scene was first of all, no respirator. Secondly, looks like she went and got her hair done. Now sporting tight braids on the side of her head. She also seems to be donning an almost all leather suit now. Lastly, she was carrying around a device that looked to me like the type of claw you see on 1 of those machines in malls where you can "win" a stuffed animal if you can pick it up with this 3 pronged "claw". What was it for? She never seemed to use it for anything really. Just carried it around. UPDATE: 4:15 PM, March 23, 2018 - Photos of Sherloque & Renee night scene, as well as Vibe and Elongated Man scene & Shecada scene added below. UPDATE: 12:00 PM, March 24, 2018 - Photos of Sherloque and Renee from daytime scene added at the bottom. The Flash airs on The CW in the U.S. on Tuesdays. If you want to see my past behind the scene shots for The Flash go HERE If you want to see my autograph gallery for The Flash go HERE Some more solo Shecada scenes were done of her walking down the same stair case that Sherloque and Renee were just looking up at. I dont like to assume things, but the angle of it all strongly suggests its Shecada that Sherloque and Renee were fending off. There was then a scene shot with Carlos Valdes as Vibe and Hartley Sawyer as Elongated Man. The pair breach in to the area where everything has been going on, walk down the stairs, and are confronted with something. Vibe points a gun type device at the mystery item/person, before the two seem to be knocked down. After Carlos and Hartley wrapped, they went back to shooting more scenes with Shecada. But the angle was mostly covered by equipment and crew, so I gave up on seeing what else there might have been. Much like the first night, each cast member stopped to meet with some fans (although a couple of them were far more hurried in leaving than the day before). I managed more autographs form the cast this night, as Tom, Carlos, Hartley, Jessica & Kimberly all signed for me at various times of the day and night. I brought up the fact that Carlos had to endure so many people asking him about his plans with the show at the Fan Expo, and his reaction was mostly what I would call awkward embarrassment. He seemingly laughed it off. I told him whatever he does next, I wish him luck, and he replied with a very sincere "thanks man" before he left. I think he was just relieved to not be asked again. This rumour has clearly made the rounds so much, I even had a crew member ask me the first night if it was true he was leaving. As promised when I posted this blog post initially, here are photos from the daytime scene between Tom Canvagh and Kimberly Williams Paisley.

A location they have used in the past (albeit slightly different part) as they were there for episode 209 when Mark Hamill used to still slip in for a year appearance. On this night the crew and a large portion of the cast mostly shot a 3 part scene. The scene entailed Grant Gustin as Barry Allen and.... Jessica Parker Kennedy as Nora West-Allen, who has seemingly been allowed out of her time out corner after how the last episode ended. Seems she is back working with the team. The pair were doing some CSI type inspecting of a bench when Hartley Sawyer as Ralph Dibny and Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon show up to discuss things with them. A few moments later Candice Patton as Iris West Allen shows up, Ralph and Cisco split to leave the West Allen fam to have a chat. What about? Hard to say, but it seemed far less contentious than the last time I saw a couple of these family members speaking on the set of 518. A little later in the evening a scene was shot with Tom Cavanagh as Sherloque Wells and Kimberly Williams Paisley as Renee Adler (just a question of which one). I couldnt really see what that scene entailed because of the angle. After each cast member wrapped, they all stopped to interact with the larger than usual crowd of fans & lookie loos passing by. Some only briefly, while others spent several minutes interacting with everyone there. It is not uncommon for a couple cast to stop once in a while, but it is rare that every cast member when theres half a dozen of them there to do so. Usually theres someone whos "gotta go" for some reason. I will have MANY MORE photos from this set to post later, but I could not do them all right now, so I had a poll on twitter to see if people wanted the earlier photos from them doing rehearsals, or later photos of the scene being shot first. I will add the additional photos over the weekend. UPDATED: March 26, 11:15 AM - More photos below of the cast shooting the scene in their on screenw ardrobes. The Flash was shooting scenes for episode 517, directed by Rob Greenlea, on Cambie Street, across from Victory Square (Flash fans probably know Victory Square better as the place Savitar kills Iris) in the early part of the day. The crew then moved in to an alley just off Hamilton Street on the other side of the square in downtown Vancouver. The daytime scenes were interesting, although a casual passer by might not have known why (to be honest, I did not either right away). A scene was shot in the morning with the stunt team showing a couple going up to an ATM before it explodes on them, sending the pair flying thru the air. This scene really seemed to have no importance when you see it JUST as the way they filmed it. But later, when they moved to shooting a scene in a minivan you realize why this scene is so interesting. The couple gets out of the minivan, heads to the ATM, and after the accident, a small girl in the minivan screams...... if you have been watching this season much then you are probably already connecting the dots. The young girl in the minivan is of course Islie Hirvonen, better known as Grace Gibbons, the niece of Cicada. It is then clear that what we were watching is the scene where Grace sees her parents get killed. But why? how? Thats a mystery we will have to wait and see. I did not really photograph the couple because I thought they were going to have more work to do, and was waiting for a better angle to appear. Instead, the production re-set with a close tight view of the minivan to capture Graces reaction. I managed to snag 1 photo of Islie after she completed her shooting, and was waiting to get picked up to go back to the trailers. Shortly after this scene ended, a different scene at the ATM took place with a mystery woman in a hoodie. This woman went up, and used the ATM without consequences. Was this to show that not everyone had a problem with the machine? Or, was this woman the reason the machine became a problem for Graces parents? They then filmed scenes where a leaf blower was shooting money through the air. After that short scene, they started filming with main cast. Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon and Jessica Parker Kennedy as Nora West-Allen shot scenes outside the same ATM machine where the trio seem to be investigating the machine. Cisco at one point seems to vibe the machine, and seems mortified by what he sees. After a couple hours of filming that scene, they wrapped that location, with Jessica & Grant getting wrapped for the day. I managed to get a few Grant Gustin autographs as he left the set, I asked him how he liked working in the Green Arrow costume compared to his own. He said he loved it (he has benn pretty open about how much he dislikes the way his own suit feels), said it was like "working in pyjamas". I then got Carlos Valdes shortly after, as Carlos was walking over to the next location, his day was not done. I tried asking him about the rumour he might be leaving the show, and his reply to it was simply "I'm not the writers", suggesting that it isnt up to him, as much as if the writers decide he is done. The crew went on lunch break after having Carlos and Hartley Sawyer do a quick run through of the scene they were going to do after lunch. After the lunch break, the sun was gone, and it was time to shoot some night scenes. Carlos and Hartley came back from lunch, but they were not dressed in the attire they did the run through in. Instead Hartley was now dressed as Elongated Man, and Carlos was dressed as........ VIBE. Yes, you read that right, by episode 17, Cisco is able to go out dressed as Vibe again. So I am guessing Cicada finds out the truth by then. The pair shoot a scene in an alley where they seem to notice something off to the side of them, and then go towards it. Also, a scene was shot where it appears that Cisco creates a portal and they go thru it. During one unusually longer than usual break between takes, Carlos started dancing in the alley, and it went on for several minutes, while Hartley joined in occasionally a couple times for a few seconds. After Hartley left, I called it a night. So I dont know what might have been filmed after that. Carlos still seemed to be there. Could there be a Vibe VS Cicada scene? Or perhapswe see Vibe doing some solo work? We will all just have to wait and see I guess. The Flash airs on The CW in the U.S. on Tuesdays. The Flash 100th episode celebration party - With most of the cast - and lots of Arrowverse friends.11/18/2018 So, while little is known yet about the 100th episode of The Flash besides the press release for it. The show did celebrate its 100th episode on Saturday night with a party at 1 of Vancouver's best known venues, the Commodore Ballroom. It actually was a busy weekend for the Commodore hosting milestone events for The CW, as Supernatural had their party the night before for their 300th episode. The event was a celebration of their accomplishment, along with a chance to give press people a few tidbits of info for the event. The Flash cast in attendance included Grant Gustin, Tom Cavanagh, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Candice Patton, Hartley Sawyer, Danielle Nicolet, Patrick Sabongui, Jessica Parker Kennedy and Chris Klein. Of course Jesse L Martin was noticeably missing, as he still is recuperating from surgery on a back issue. But the cast of The Flash was not all that showed up, as all 4 Arrowverse shows were represented quite heavily at the party. Arrow had Stephen Amell, Cassandra Amell, David Ramsey, Juliana Harkavy, Rick Gonzalez and Kirk Acevedo there. Legends Of Tomorrow brought Brandon Routh, Courtney Ford, Jes Macallan, Tala Ashe, Adam Tsekhman and Ramona Young. Supergirl was represented by Melissa Benoist, Katie McGrath, Nicole Maines, Mehcad Brooks, David Harewood, Jesse Rath, and former cast member Chris Wood . A handful of former guest stars were there, along with Elseworlds newcomer LaMonica Garrett. Probably my favorite parts of the evening was a couple things. First, the rent-a-goon "security" team they hired who clearly had never done a celebrity event in their life, and were over reacting to every single person coming in like they thought they were protecting President Obama or something..... and still failed at doing so. Not once, but on 3 different occasions early in the evening, they decided to get confrontational with me about being on a public sidewalk. As I told the first group "its going to be a long night for you" which they tried then telling me no one was going to sign autographs. They lost their will to live pretty quickly, and by the time the celebs were leaving, they weren't even bothering to acknowledge some of them with a half hearted "human chain" that they so intensely created for everyone on the way in, just adding to the annoyance of the celebs who did want to sign when they had to reach over outstretched arms holding hands with another outstretched arm. They were so poorly informed on how to act, and who they were there to "protect" that they were creating human chains for random crew members, and failing to do so when actual actors from the show were leaving. Candice Patton had no one but the people she left with protecting her. Same for Carlos Valdes. No moment more encapsulated the evening of incompetence than when they "protected" Hayes Robbins, the husband of The Flash star Danielle Panabaker, but not Danielle herself. All in all, not the best team. I wouldnt hire them to protect a pie from a child. For the record, the "no autographs" I was promised, was Juuuuuuuust a tad short of accurate. I got every single cast member of The Flash except for Jessica Parker Kennedy, Danielle Nicolet and Chris Klein. The last two, who I did not even have something for. I also got 6 of the other Arrowverse cast. In fact, not one single person that signed that I needed, did they end up stopping me from getting. Usually when a staff tells me I'm not getting anything, they at least succeed on preventing me from getting SOMEONE at some point. I cant recall a team ever failing at every single venture. It was quite something to behold. Second, was the variety of crew, and also 1 actor, who joked that I should be inside, because as 1 of them put it "I think you have spent more time on the set than some of us". I have done several cast parties over the years, and for the most part, crew are always very welcoming to me at these events. It really repeats the point I try to make to people all the time when they think the crews hate us. While I am sure there are some, from every show (because when you have a group of 200+ people working on something.... not everyone is going to be happy about the same things), the vast majority dont have a problem with us, and understand we all have a job to do. As for who hung with who? Obviously the interior of the party was a mystery to me. But as they arrived & left, MOST cast arrived & left on their own. But there were a couple exceptions. Much of The Flash cast were in early, as they had press to do inside before the party. I know that for cast Grant, Hartley, Carlos and Danielle were the last to leave, all leaving around 11:45-11:55ish. While Candice was the first to leave much earlier, and Jessica a little while after. The Arrow cast were some of the latest to arrive, with Stephen, being the first of the cast, and not till after 8. Rick and David arrived together, with Kirk very shortly after them, and Juliana shortly after him. The Legends Of Tomorrow cast was a bit of a mystery to me. They seemed pretty scattered on when they arrived, and left. The only thing I do recall from their cast was Ramona Young was the last one to arrive. For Supergirl, Melissa was the first to leave from any of the shows, even before some people had even got there. While Katie & Nicole seemed to leave with their guests together. The Flash airs on The CW in the U.S. on Tuesdays. It shows the next day on Netflix in Canada and other countries. The 100th episode will air live on December 4, 2018. If you have not seen the episode, and do not want to see or read possible spoilers about it prior to seeing it, do not continue reading the article or viewing the photos below. . . . last warning . . As I said in my last blog post there was going to be some shots from night scenes they shot on those days. Unlike the daytime scenes, everything was pretty much different for the night shoot. The only constant being director Tom Cavanagh on set. To start off, No one from the West family was on set for them, and Grant Gustin was now dressed as The Flash instead of Barry Allen. Also, Carlos Valdes was on set as Vibe. But the big "oooh aaahhh" of this article was, this was the first chance people had to see "Machete" star Danny Trejo as Breacher, as well, Hartley Sawyer was on set as the Elongated Man. The scenes seemed to be dominated by Trejo, as his character was first throwing around The Flash & Elongated Man while they seemed to be in a heated altercation. Later on, they still had Elongated Man where he was for much of the shoot.... on the ground, but instead, Vibe was suddenly in and facing off with Breacher, and seemingly made Breacher stand down. There was also a scene they shot a couple takes of with a man dressed like a detective looking like he was trying to shoot at Elongated Man and presumably The Flash saves him as in the next angle, hes standing there holding Elongated Man and the shooter no longer has a gun. The cast & crew of The Flash got their season off to a start with filming in early July in downtown Vancouver in & around an area known as Cathedral Square. In the early part of the day, a scene was shot with Carlos Valdes as Vibe, Keiynan Lonsdale as Kid Flash, Jesse L Martin as Joe West and returning guest star Britnie Oldford as Peek-a-boo shooting a scene I got there in time for the very last take of it, so I didnt really get to see much of that filming. After a break, they resumed filming further down the alley. This time, a scene involving Keiynan, but he wasnt dressed as Wally west, or Kid Flash, but he was dressed in the Barry Allen Flash uniform. In this scene he was taking on a samurai looking creature that I have seen referred to as a Samuroid in most places. The pair seem to get into a fight that sees the Samuroid throw Wally..err Kid Flash...uhhh I mean .... Flash? by using his samurai sword as a catapult. During breaks, Keiynan tried to stay cool by using a portable fan, and kept himself alert by doing little sprints in the alley after takes.
