The Flash was on location for season 7 shooting at the Vancouver Concention Centre in downtown Vancouver for a couple days. Along with a shoot on top of a parkade 3 blocks away later on the 2nd day. While there was not much to see on the 1st day (I found the set, but between the rain soaked glass, and the position of props & crew, it was impossible to tell what was being shot), I did get a shot of a few crates with Black Hole logos on them. As well as some type of beam type machine, which I dont yet know what it is for. On the 2nd day, there was a lot more to see however. In the morning, a scene was shot right outside the convention centre with Candice Patton as Iris West Allen, along with Victoria Park as Kamilla Hwang. If you werent paying really close attention while there you might have missed that this was in the mirrorverse, as the garbage bins, and dog walking signs there were printed in reverse.... even down to the spray cans Kamilla uses to spray paint (in the proper direction) a message to Iris had the labels on in reverse. The scene had Kamilla finishing up her message to Iris, when Iris shows up at that spot, sees her, and walks over to her gives her a hug, and the pair talk for about a minute, before walking off together. Where the pair were heading after this is unknown, as the scene ends about 20 steps later. This scene is for episode 7X02, as you may be able to see by the clapperboard. It is directed by Alexandra LaRoche, who has directed 5 other The Flash episodes in the past, as well as 8 other Arrowverse episodes from Legends Of Tomorrow, Arrow & Supergirl. As with all the other sets I have been to so far, the covid-19 guidelines in place by our government seemed to be getting met, as all the crew were masked up, equipment and crew stations were well spread out, and in between takes the cast were also wearing their masks. If you want to see more photos (without some watermarks) from this set, you can find them on Just Jared HERE, as a photographer I know came down to shoot the set after I let him know they were there. After that scene wrapped, the production moved back inside the convention centre to resume filming interior scenes. Thankfully, this taxpayer built, city block long, building comes with a LOT of glass on it. Making it easy to see whats going on inside.... long as you know where to look. In this particular case, on a level generally used for large convention hall events. I do not know if this scene is for episode 2, or 1, as I did not think till well after the fact to check and find out. It wasnt till I got home & saw a photo I had taken which made me suspicious that they were shooting parts of 2 episodes on the same day (this is NOT that rare of an occurrence, probably happens a dozen or so times a season). Without going into painstaking detail how I got the info, and what that info was, lets just say, what I saw made me think there were scenes for 2 episodes being shot on this day. On set for this scene was Grant Gustin as The Flash, Efrat Dor as Mirror Mistress, and their stunt doubles. The first scene I saw shot there was pretty simple. It had The Flash standing about 100 feet away from Mirror Mistress, and he simply goes running at her. After they shot that scene, I left for a while as I wanted to get some other work done, and it looked like they were going to keep re-doing that scene. I came back about an hour & 1/2 later and things had changed slightly, now they had Grants double up on a rolling cart. He was prepping a scene that Grant himself would do a bit later, where he goes charging towards Mirror Mistress in a horisontal fashio, with his arm shoved forward. Considering Grants love of Superman, I wonder how much he wanted to put both arms out & pretend he was being Superman for the scene, as it very much looked like the way you would expect the Man Of Steel to fly through the air, except with out 1 arm extended. In the scene, The Flash flies towards Mirror Mistress, before she bobs & weaves his lunge, and The Flash goes flying by her, not making impact with her, as she looks on with an unimpressed look. After the wrapped that scene, I moved over to the 1 other shoot I knew they had. UNFORTUNATELY, I did not know exactly where it was till I had put in considerable time trying to figure it out. it was on top of a parkade that has been used a few times for other shows in the past. With no good sight lines, I eventually gave up. But not before I came across the 1 & only set of cast trailers out there. The trailer was for Danielle Panabaker, as it has the Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost tag on the door. While I never saw her there, the fact it was the only active trailer at the set made it pretty clear she was going to be in that scene on the roof. What was she doing there? Guess we'll have to wait & see. UPDATE: October 26, 2020, 1:15 PM - Video of the scenes has been added at the bottom of this post. THE FLASH - Episode 607 - Danielle Panabaker, Hartley Sawyer and Sendhil Ramamurthy on set9/20/2019 ![]() THIS BLOG POST IS FOR A "THE FLASH" SEASON 6 EPISODE 07, TITLED "The Last Temptation Of Barry Allen Part 1" AND MAY CONTAIN POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR THE SEASON. If you have not seen the episode, and do not want to see or read possible spoilers about it prior to seeing it, do not continue reading the article or viewing the photos below. . . . last warning . . The Flash was on location for the 7th episode of the season on Thursday in downtown Vancouver. The episode is being directed by Chad Lowe. This location was literally the laneway over from where they shot last week. This dtime though, it was a night time scene. Also, the cast was a bit different for this shoot. Hartley Sawyer as Elongated Man, Danielle Panabaker as Killer Frost and Sendhil Ramamurthy as Ramsey Rosso, or maybe even Bloodwork as you will see below. When the cast showed up, fans wished Danielle Panabaker a Happy Birthday which brought a huge smile out across her face. Sendhil tried VERY HARD to keep his make up job hidden, but dumb luck was on my side, and I just happened to not be where everyone else was when and had a partial view of his face. As you can see in the photos below, he looked far different than he did in the daytime photos on this previous set last week. The first scene had Elongated Man and Ramsey/Bloodwork in a major fight battle. Both characters at different points seemed to have the upper hand. But eventually, Ramsey/Bloodwork gets the permanent upper hand with some action that seemed like he was doing a hand motion suggesting he was controlling Elongated Man in some way, before EM falls to the ground.... then Bloodwork is "knocked away". A bit later, Killer Frost finally came in to replace Bloodwork on set for a scene. The scene has Killer Frost rush up to Elongated Man as he laid on the ground after his big fight, looking to be in serious peril, and the reaction of Killer Frosts body language SEEMED like she was suggesting he wasn't doing well, and maybe even didnt survive. Would The Flash actually write out a major character just before Crisis??? Seems pretty unlikely. The last scene of the evening had Elongated Man & Bloodwork competing again.... but I didnt take any photos of it. When the evening ended, Danielle came out, at 2 AM, after a day on set in a pretty cold night compared to what we have had lately, and, after having to work on her Birthday, carrying 2 containers of flowers from the cast, and walkking Eliot, and stopped to meet with all the fans. I dont usually point out things like this too much, but it really impressed me the effort she takes to keep fans for the show. Not to be outdone, Hartley stopped on two different occasions through out the evening for lengthy meet & greets. Right now, I would call these two the best ambassadors the show has. No disrespect to Grant or Tom, but these two go above & beyond. AGAIN, REMINDER - Please adhere to the photo limits in the blog post posted linked in the red text paragraph above. The Flash was on location for the 6th episode of the season Friday, Monday & today at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Vancouver. The theatre has been home to many scenes over the years. In fact this season Supergirl & Legends Of Tomorrow have also used the theatre. This time, it was in Midway City, and this time, an Art Pavilion. Just like this shoot last week where we caught Grant Gustin and Hartley Sawyer sitting in a car outside of the Midway City Art Pavilion, this time, we found the pair on the inside of the Pavilion, still in Midway City. With a title like License To Elongate, and a lot of well dressed people at the event, I am getting a James Bond inspired episode centred around Ralph Dibny feel. But I cant confirm that. Just how it felt with the title, and the event they were at, and the way they were dressed. There were other actors on set with the pair. Carlo Rota, Alexa Barajas Plante & Rebecca Roberts were also shooting some of the scenes throughout the 3 day shoot. I know almost nothing about their characters at this time, except that Alexa was wearing the red mask that I saw someone wearing at last weeks set (I am guessing it was a stunt double for her as it was definitely not the same actress I saw then). UPDATE 6:53 PM, September 10, 2019 - Alexa is playing a character named "Ultraviolet". Over the 3 days at the theatre, a variety of background, and episode specific actors were seen. But the only main cast on set were Danielle Panabaker, who is directing the episode, Grant & Hartley. All of the filming was inside the threatre, so no other details are currently known about the shoot. On the second day, we were all greeted by a monsoon type downpour for about half an hour. Vancouver is no stranger to rain. We arent even a stranger to intense rains. But when we get intense rains, they usually wash out of the system in 1-3 minutes, but this just kept going for 15-30 minutes. At one point Grant had gone to his trailer for a break before the storm hit, and when he came back he had to navigate the increasing river of water that was now flowing down the street. Two hours later, the roads barely looked like it had rained, except for a couple small puddles. Good thing the production wasn't shooting exteriors that day, they would have had to stop for probably more than an hour, as they would not have had just to wait out the storm, but to make sure equipment was working. Could have been a costly storm if they had been outside for it. Strange part was, there was no sign in the weather forecast yesterday of any type of massive rainstorm, just a few scattered showers. During the 3 days, each cast member, including the director, took time to meet with some of the fans. Danielle stopped going into, and coming out of the set on the first day, even at 2 AM after a 14 hour work day to sign & take photos. One last tidbit I picked up while being there. Michelle Harrison, who plays Nora Allen, will be back. Whether it is for episode 6, or 7, I can not say. But one of those two eps, she is coming back for. The Flash was on location for the 6th episode of the season Thursday & Friday at the Pacific Central Train Station (aka - the train station we first meet Barry Allen getting out of in Arrow in Starling City). This time, Barry Allen was again there, but like last time, it was not in Central City again. This time, it was in Midway City, and this time, an Art Pavilion. For the first day & 1/2, the cast & crew were filming in an inaccessible to the public part of a basement in the station. During the time I was there over those two days, I saw Grant Gustin, Hartley Sawyer & Danielle Panabaker from the main cast going in, or coming out of there at some point. Along with a couple guest stars. One was Carlo Rota. Another I saw on the 2nd day showed up looking like a businessman of some type I never caught a name of. There was also 1 woman on the first day, a young attractive Asian woman, in all black leather, with a metal mask that was red. I dont know what her role was, but I did not see her the 2nd day unfortunately, so I never got anymore info than seeing her leave the 1st day. After the interior filming wrapped on the 2nd day, the crew and cast, along with the episodes director Danielle Panabaker, headed outside to shoot some night scenes. Of course, I had my hopes up that I might finally see The Flash in his season 6 uniform, but much to mine, and likely most of your disappointment, no such luck. Instead Grant & Hartley filmed a scene inside a car as Barry Allen & Ralph Dibny staking out an event at the Midway City Art Pavilion inside an only 1970s style car. Since the only vantage point to see this scene was the equivalent of about 3/4 of a football field away, shots for it are a bit fuzzy at best. Also should be noted, there was no way I could see what they were saying, or the tone of the scene. I did see the pair exchanging some laughs on occasion, but it was uncertain to me if they were during filming, or between scenes. The only thing I do know about the scene is at the end of it, Ralph gets out of the car and walks around to the back of it. Later on in the evening there was going to be a stunt shot with some men holding out guns that were going to get flung thru the air. I saw the stunts team practicing the scene in the daytime. But that was going to be filmed much later, so I didnt stick around to see it. UPDATE: (July 11, 2019 at 9:30 AM) Video added at the bottom of some scenes. The Flash was again on location for this first episode of the season. After my post about filming in the first week HERE. I did not expect to catch up to them again so soon. This time there were shooting scenes for episode 601 yesterday in a part of downtown Vancouver known as Coal Harbour... I posted a short blog on 1 portion of it several hours ago, for the Danielle Panabaker as Killer Frost new costume reveal HERE. But that was not all that happened that day. The day started out with the crew and stunt team for The Flash doing work on a scene where a man is seemingly blown away, then, pulled back through the air. A bit later, they also did a stunt where they made a car move across a street upside down while people were running. In between the stunt scenes, they had 1 short scene in the morning where Hartley Sawyer as Elongated Man did a scene with a man dressed like the stunt guy from earlier where he grabs him, spins him around, before the guy gets a scared look on his face, and runs away, while Hartley runs in the opposite direction. Before they went to their lunch break they did 1 more scene with just 100s of extras running away from something. After their lunch break, more filming went on in this location. Jesse L. Martin was the first cast member to show up after the break, and he had his newly minted Captain Joe West look going as he first did a scene where he just looked on at something as people ran around in a panic. Then shortly after he did a scene with Danielle. I was confused by the scene, as Danielle was in her KF attire, but the way the scene looked, it almost looked like she was trying to attack Joe. But I'm assuming I just missed something that maybe was going on behind him. A bit later, Jesse wrapped that location. They then had Danielle & Hartley shooting a scene together where the pair seem to be facing some daunting task, and somehow overcome it, which leads to a moment only Ralph Dibny and Caitlin Snow could engage in really as Elongated Man hughs Killer Frost for a moment before stopping and awkwardly making a motion like "sorry I didnt mean to do that", before having the moment reciprocated with Killer Frost giving Elongated Man a hug back. You may NOT make 3 posts of just 1 part. Please make note of this rare bonus permission. The Flash was shooting scenes for episode 601 yesterday in a quiet North Burnaby neighbourhood. The scene had Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, Jesse L Martin as Joe West, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Candice Patton as Iris West Allen, Danielle Nicolet as Cecille Horton, Victoria Park as Kamilla Hwang, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand *drum roll* Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon shooting a scene that takes place in a back yard. Judging by the attire of those there, it would seem they were shooting a hanging out in the backyard enjoying the day type of scene. The scene description on the film notice called it a "family bbq". Only thing I know of the scene is the attire most were wearing, and that at some point I heard the classic Flash air guns go off. Was Barry taking off to, or returning from, a situation, or did he just head off real quick to grab some steaks for the bbq? Barry, Joe & Iris were in full "summer time" attire mode, as Grant was wearing a Hawaiin shirt, Jesse had on a casual shirt, and Candice was wearing a floral orange/brown and white pattern summer dress. During 1 break, and after they wrapped, I had a chance to chat with a few of the cast. Some briefer than others. But mostly everyone seemed to be in a great mood. I asked Grant about his costume for this season, he confirmed there will be a chin strap/cowl for the army of haters out there for the season 5 suit. I asked him straight up if he was getting a new suit, he said "yeah, its mostly the same though..." then I asked specifically about the chinstrap/cowl situation, and he said there will be 1 this year. I then told him how it was many peoples largest complaint last year, and he turned around and in a really joking manner waved his arms and said "everyones so petty". Jesse told me that his back is all good. Also, Carlos was right about what he said to me at the end of last season when he said "and I'll see you", he sure did and waved at me to say hi as I was moving towards getting someone else. I felt bad that I didnt have a moment to at least say "good to see you back" to him. When I asked Danielle Panabaker if she had a chance to try out the new Killer Frost outfit yet, she just smirked and said "you'll just have to wait & see". Only notable cast that I did not see there, and they did not have a trailer there were Tom Cavanagh and Hartley Sawyer.
