LAST WARNING.

So here are some more pics from the filming I saw for Ep 417. For those who already saw the other set of Fauxlivia shots with her big machine gun ( http://canadagraphs.weebly.com/1/post/2012/04/fringe-filming-episode-417-everything-in-its-right-place-fauxlivia-with-a-big-gun.html ) here is a few other photos from the scene they shot.

The scene seems to start with both Lincolns & Fauxlivia getting a prisoner into a Fringe Dept transportation vehicle in the Alt-universe. Before they have a chance to do this however, some gunfire takes place, Alt-Lincoln protects the "prisoner" while Olivia & our world Lincoln engage in firing back at the mystery person(s).

Fauxlivia ges running to grab a big machine gun while Lincoln covers her. I really wish my camera picked up the smaller details, because I took pics of Lincoln firing off several shots in a row & although they were blanks, there was still smoke/something that comes off the gun as they shoot. Sadly, my camera didnt pick up these details... or the 10+ shots I took during the 10 or so shots he took were perfectly timed to miss them all.

Below is pics from various stages of the filming. Not neccesarily int he order the scene was shot.... as well, a few candid photos of Seth & Anna on breaks.

I apologize for some of them not being crisp & clear, lighting on this day was terrible for those of us having to stand back & shoot...even though it was daylight.

This episode of Fringe airs Friday April, 6, 2012 at 9 PM on FOX.

REMINDER - Do not post photos on your site/blog/tumblr page etc without properly linking the article and DO NOT remove the tags. Seemed to be a little rash of fringe fans/sites doing this recently. If you want them untagged, they are for sale... as are autographs in the gallery on the left side.

Better late than never, right?

Sorry Glee fans, sometimes things dont get posted immedately & eventually get buried under new, fresh stuff.

Such is the case with the pics of Cory Monteith I took in May, 2011 while he was in Vancouver with his band Bonnie Dune.

So, here they are.... only 10 months later....

This past summer, I was in Toronto at the Toronto International Film Festival. The list of celebs I planned to find was long, and it included a girl that was getting big hype for her role in a movie that was going to be released in 2012, The Hunger Games. That girl - Jennifer Lawrence. However, Ms. Lawrence cancelled her appearance...and thus my 1st effort to meet any of the cast from the movie was thwarted.

Fast forward about 2 1/2 months & I am at the airport 1 night for someone, and am told by a buddy "hey, will you help me with someone when they come in, I assure you have nothing for him". Ok, seems reasonable enough.

Eventually, a very fit blonde actor strolled thru, it was another cast member from The Hunger Games, Alexander Ludwig.

Ludwig plays Cato in the series. He is a vampire who sparkles in the sunligh.... wait, I am getting my phenomenons mixed up. Cato is actually a physically strong, fearsome and possibly crazy competitor who Katniss eventually kills.

These shots were from back in November, 2011 before the hype machine had really started to peak. He was friendly, accomodating & happy to be noticed it seemed. Alex was returning from his schooling in USC for a break to see his family & friends before returning to finish his studies in theatre.

Earlier this month the Queen of Daytime TV came to Vancouver for a talk on the Power Of Women tour.

Ellen Degeneres, the NBC talk show host rolled into Vancouver and brought along her wife Portia DeRossi as well.

The pair were incredibly personable & friendly with the professionals and casual onlookers that arrived at their boutique hotel shortly before Ellen was to go on stage at Rogers Centre for the Power Of Women tour.

Ellen signed autographs for most of the people asking, but was being aggressively rushed thru by the tours security, even though both her & Portia didnt seem at all phased by the attention.

The night before the show I managed to get 1 autographs from Ellen. The next day I got her to sign again, along with getting 1 from Portia as well.

Below is a few pics from the day of the show as the pair left the hotel to head to the show.

On June 28, 2011 a couple things happened in my life.

One was less than interesting, as it was my birthday. Which I really am indifferent to, and frankly want to ignore...especially since I woke up with a slight scratchy feeling in my throat that day, and its since progressed into some type of cold/fever... which I am currently pushing thru to get this blog done.

On the bright side. I also uncovered the official location of the Dead Like Me restaraunt "Der Waffle Haus".

Yeah I know, lots of fans had the impression it was all in studio...and for episodes 2 thru the duration of its run, it was. A soundstage that MGM ran. But for the pilot episode, it was a different place. An on location place.

When I originally realized this, several years ago (not when it first came on air... I joined in after its 2 season run was already done) I picked up on some details immediately. 1- There was a KFC across the street. 2- Trolley buses go by there...something that most of Vancouver & its outskirts DONT have.  Theres probably a dozen or so trolley bus routes in Vancouver. 3- It was on a major street. Something that was at least 2 lanes across each direction.

For a couple years, I had given up finding it. I had googled all the KFCs in Vancouver and none of them seemed to stand out as a possible match. Yesterday, I was again drawn into this mystery by a simple notification from facebook telling me the Dead Like Me page on there had been updated.  Like several others I was drawn in to talking about the show again in the various posts on the board.

A post about where Georgia got torpedoed by the toilet seat drew me in. I responded to tell those in the thread where that spot was...then follow up posts had people asking about the location of Der Waffle haus. As usual, the simple answer that it was a studio location was brought up, once again, I knew that was infact false for the pilot.

I was determined, like I have been several times prior....to prove the Der Waffle Haus was an On Location spot somewhere. I re-watched the pilot, especially the parts where they were in the DWH. The night scene verified my old assumptions of there being a KFC close & a trolley bus going by. It was however, when I watched the daytime scene where they had "banana bonanzas all around" I clued in.... I'VE BEEN THERE! In fact, I for awhile, was a semi-regular there. How I didnt notice a hotel in the background on the day shoot in my previous attempts I dunno.  The original KFC that was tip 1 back then has long since been closed & re-opened as a Starbucks. I was 99.9% sure this was the locale....now only to prove it.

I hopped on the bus (a trolley bus funny enough) & took the 10-12 min bus ride thru East Vancouver to my destination. As soon as I got off the bus, I knew it....now, to get some photo proof. I walked inside, and sat down. My lack of immediate material to guide me made me sit 1 booth off from where I assumed  If only I had the common sense to watch a clip on youtube on the blackberry I had in my pocket before sitting down.

The booths still had the blue seats you see in the pilot. Where the daytime scene is done is almost right inside the door. In the pilot it was behind a wall...which till a couple yrs ago, actually used to still be there...but has since then been taken down. There was 2 sets of booths, I picked the wrong set lol. As I perused a menu I was already familiar with, I asked the waitress if anyone had been working here over 7 yrs, she said she had. I asked her if they filmed anything in here back then, she said "we've had several things done here". My 1st hope for solid confirmation was dashed. I proceeded in photographing different angles & things, like the Starbucks, the hotel across the street, a trolley bus going by & of course, 1 of the booths...which I thought at the time was THEIR booth for the daytime scene...but as it turns out, was not, but shows a part of it to the side where Roxy & Georgia would have sat.

I walked around mostly empty restaraunt after my meal looking for where the night scene was shot...as it turns out, I wasnt even close. Like the daytime shoot, I missed the night time shoot table by 1 table. I will likely go back when I am feeling better & get shots of the proper locations....but for now, the mystery thats befuddled an entire fanbase for years, where is "Der Waffle Haus" has been found.

I welcome you to the diner "Tom & Jerry's" at the corner of Hastings St & Kaslo St in Vancouver... just 1 block west of the entrance for the PNE.

I used to eat here a fair bit when the prices were cheap. For quite awhile, its had the same name...certainly been T&Js since before DLM shot there. Its changed gimmicks several times over the years, not that long ago, it was an "everything on the menu under $10" place, and for its price...was adequate. Then, they started pushing the prices up. Now the menu has gone up anywhere from 20-70% on some items, but the quality hasnt matched the raise in price.

For nostalgia. Sure, go there just to say you have been. The staff is friendly enough. The food just isnt up to the average price of $15 that it now has. Sadly, they dont have a banana bonanza on the menu....maybe if enough people go in & order it, it will exist.

I spent a LOT of hours digging this info up over the years. Its sad that it actually was a place I have frequeneted probably 50+ times over the years since then. I used to do occasional google searches to see if someone else had a clue, and no one ever got it...yet everyone asked about it. It was my own personal birthday gift to myself....and hopefully, some of you die hard fans will enjoy it too.

A bit of vid of Peter taking lots of time out of his day to make some fans happy.

One of the many reasons he is on my top 10 nicest celebs list.

Till about 6-8 months ago, I had never heard the name Ted Casablancas, or "Ted C" as others refer to him as. Now, I hear it far too much.

For  those who somehow dont know who he is. He is a celebrity blogger for a website called "e online", and one of his staple topics to discuss is Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart. Fair enough, they are hot news & thusly, you would be a fool to not discuss them when its relevant, or factual.

The man better known to his friends & family as Bruce Bibby writes stories that he claims "sources" have given him the details on. He will try any angle to get sources too. I should know. An assistant for him named Taryn contacted me once looking for info to confirm details on a story thru imdb. I told her straight out that anything I already have posted on the site she contacted me thru is public knowledge, but that there was nothing more to add privately. It was the last I heard from her. Guess not giving juicy details factual, or exaggerated, didnt sit well with them.

Which brings me to my point. Who are their "sources"?? I can vouch that they do infact look for sources. But I cant vouch for the sources they do have. In fact, I question some of their claims & call others outright lies.

The blog that has brought up my ire currently is his new insanity filled rambling claiming that he chatted with a Summit source who says the cast is hating it up here in Vancouver because they are stalked relentlessly.

Someone is lying here. Its either Mr. Casabibby. Or its "Summit source".  One or the other is lying. Has the cast had considerable attention here at times? Sure, compared to you or I. But compared to if it were filmed ANYWHERE else, no. They coulda filmed it in the middle of Northern Saskatchewan. There would only be moderately less attention than its drawn here. In fact, small towns are worse on average. Theres nowhere for cast to hide & everyone in the town is aware they are there, as opposed to bigger cities where only a fraction are aware. After seeing what Mr. Pattinson endured in New York City its undeniable they have it far easier here than in NYC & certainly in pap heavy Los Angeles (where the majority of the paps for this film came from).

Perhaps Ted is spot on? I mean his credibility cant possibly be questioned TOO much. I mean this is after all the same person who came to Vancouver on a fact finding mission & JUST HAPPENED to go to a restaurant where Ashley Greene had left her coat the night before & overheard two servers talking about it at a place that they allegedly all go to all the time together. He clearly would NEVER  exaggerate anything for a few blog hits. Nope, not at all.

Back to the insane bedlam these poor cast members have to endure in the horribly dangerous streets of Vancouver.... Just tonight, I saw 2 Eclipse cast members. Outside of us (5 of us, only 3 with items) wanting autographs as they were leaving, I would wager heavily they didnt even so much as have 1 other person ask them the rest of their night for anything. That means, they endured a total of probably 45 seconds of dealing with fans/paps/hounds. Sure, if was Rob or Kristen, there would be more demands on their time. But as has been attested to by twitter, and news stories, the pair has gone out MANY times in Vancouver, nearly unnoticed. It would NEVER happen in LA or NYC. They would undoubtedly be on 24/7 watch. Thats just how they do it.

Early on in the production, the claims of large crowds was valid. The first month of filming, I can verify that crowds sometimes reached 40+ people waiting around the hotel that Summit foolishly booked the entire cast in (doubt they make THAT mistake again). It was a perfect storm. Entire cast in 1 location + great weather = large crowds. Once they moved the cast minus Rob, Kristen & Taylor to a new locale, the crowds died out...conveniently, as school started as well. Now, there is NO ONE waiting at their hotel & often no more than 2-4 people at the rest of the casts residence. Hardly rabid crowds of fans & paps that the blog claims are tracking them down. When Rob was in NYC for Remember Me, I recall hearing countless reports of crowds far larger than that waiting at his hotel & places to unwind there. Kristen had some attention while she filmed The Runaways in LA as well. Infact, Vancouver has been, well, quiet. For the mostpart.

They have been here around 3 months. Out of that 3 months, LESS THAN TWO WEEKS did the paparrazzi tally reach double digits. Sure, for a few days it was bedlam with 25 or so paps there & 20+ fans around. No denying that. Even 1 specific cast member who braved it & went out one day told us they were told not to go out if they didnt have to because there was so many people. But, that only lasted for so long. By week 3, the pap total was back under 10, the fan total was on weekdays down to 3-5 & weekends maybe 10-15. By the start of September, when school was back in & summer vacations were over. The pap total was dwindling more & some days you could walk by the hotel & see no one waiting.

These days, theres nothing more than the regular hounds & paps out. The same regulars the cast freely wandered by without concern during New Moon production...but because of hysteria set on them by whoever (maybe Summit?) they opt to hole up in their places of residence still, despite crowds usually numbering in totals that could be counted on 1 hand.

I have walked by the Taylor, Rob & Kristen hotel several times in the past few weeks. With the exception of ONE time that I saw 2 girls hanging out there who were clearly fans, I dont recall seeing ANYONE who I clearly without question was sure were there for the purpose of seeing cast members. The place is a ghost town.

Rob & Kristen go out often now. Its just rarely known because no one is there detailing every moment. We as a whole, have better things to do. Is Rob & Kristen worth chasing? Sure. Reality is though, there is smaller fish, who are easier to catch in town. With hockey season on, more than 1/2 the autograph community has dropped Twilight hounding all together, and the few of us that still do, only do it as secondary stuff when hockey isnt on. Theres also other productions going on with Supernatural, Fringe, Smallville, A-Team, Sucker Punch & various other productions in town that are far more accomodating. So people opt for those instead. Rob & Kristen, for the mostpart, go unnoticed now compared to 2 months ago.

This article Ted wrote is either complete bullshit that he made up so that he had something Twilight related to blog about. OR. Its on information thats 2 months old. Two months ago, some of these claims were valid. Now?? Its not. Maybe Teddy boy should have verified the info.

With the exception of a couple events where the regulars expect the cast to be, rarely do people spend their nights waiting around for the cast to go out anymore. Last couple weekends I havent even left my house, because there was no hot tips to check out. Its not worth the time to most, especially in this weather, to sit outside for 2-10 hours on a hope of seeing them.

The absolutely outrageously ridiclous suggestion by Mr. Bibblanca that the production for Breaking Dawn will leave Vancouver, Canada for Portland, Oregon (where things will obviously be worse...and if they DONT realize it still, Summit is run by morons) because of the attention they are getting here is to say the least, stupid. BD wont leave Vancouver for Portland because of a desire for privacy, because we all know it will be much worse. They are going to leave because of MONEY, the only thing Summit has & ever will care about. If it is in Portland, things will be 10Xs worse, its simple logistics, smaller town + growing hype + no borders for a larger section of fans to cross + closer to LA = MUCH smaller fishbowl for the fishes....and Summit (should) knows this.... and so should Ted. Apparently, Ted doesnt. Which really, seems to be the problem with him quite often. His sources, at least for Twilight, are crap.

Here is the 2nd video from their performance at the Rickshaw.
This was their improvised song, about Acorns.

Dont know why, but uploading these videos from the show has been painfully tiresome & challenging.

Here is 1 of the 2 I have.

FIRST- BE WARNED!!! I have a massive head cold, and a mild headache...so excuse me if I get some details out of order, or forget something you thought was notable etc etc.

Its not everyday the poorest postal code in Canada gets a notable celebrity playing a show it the area. Last night was that rare exception.

Of course 100 Monkeys were at the Rickshaw Theatre last night & played to a fairly packed show. Funny side story. I pass this theatre almost daily & till I heard Jackson Rathbone & his bandmates Ben Graupner, Jerad Anderson & Ben Johnson would be playing there I mistook it for a usually abandoned building. I have seen it open maybe 5 times ever & It doesnt even have a name displayed anywhere. I was more suprised when I got inside & saw not only was it a 2 level theatre style venue with seats, but that it had a standing & seating room of around a 1,000...but I'm getting ahead of myself here.

I showed up around 6 PM & waited at the back for Jackson to arrive. Shortly after being there I heard a soundcheck & was aware the band was, at least, partially there already. Some of the band members came out & left to go get food. No Jackson though.

About an hr or so later they returned & saw 2 fans & myself back there. When they arrived Ben (I believe Graupner) chatted breifly with us, remembered both the pair of fans & myself from their previous tour of the Vancouver area.  The couple asked if he could get them tickets, and he happily obliged. He then asked me if I wanted to go, I said, I'll certainly go. A few minutes later the manager (without his trademark Banana suit...currently looking for a new banana suit as the old one was deemed no good anymore :( ) came out with 3 tickets & it was official, I was going to the show.

I had about 45 mins to an hr to kill, so I went home (a whole 4 blocks away) & dumped some stuff off & recharged my phone some. When I got back I saw the same couple still in the alley. They said Jackson hadnt arrived yet. So I waited with them. It was much darker now than when I left and rats were in abundance in the alleyways...and I'm not talking about L.A. Rats or the local rats. Eventually sometime in the first bands set a security guy came & said Jackson was already in. This would later be verified by a fan who went inside & said she saw him in the upstairs room that was sort of a "backstage" area for them...despite being infront of the stage up 2 levels. I headed inside after getting the disappointing news.

The show had 2 opening bands. Neither I heard (well, actually I heard part of the middle band, but I was focussed at that time on other things...which it turns out was foolish.) By the time the 100 Monkeys were set to take the stage I was already sweaty. It was ridiculously hot in the theatre & everyone was at the very least a bit sweaty. At this time its probably a good time to point out, of all the Twilight based events I have gone to, tonights crowd had the highest percentage of hot women I have seen at one yet. There was still some stereotypical Twinocerouses lurking about, but for the mostpart, the most aesthetically enjoyable crowd I have seen at one of these Twilight hotspot events.

I have to say, I never actually noticed what time the 100 Monkeys got on stage, but it turned into probably an hr to hr & 1/2 set. The band all took turns playing different instruments, Jackson played guitar, bass, drums & keyboards at different times. The other bandmates did as well. In typical Monkeys fashion, they did an improvised song...about Acorns tonight. They kept a good pace & were certainly giving a strong effort. They did a song right before their encore thanking all their fans for being there, which was kind of cool. Of course they squeezed in talking about Spencer Bell at the show & told everyone there if they didnt know who he was, to google him. I knew about this already as they told me last time that they would like me to make a donation for Jackson signing all our stuff to the http://www.spencerbellmemorial.ning.com website. I actually promised I would at the time & so far have failed to step up, last night was a good reminder.

If I dont talk about cast members at the show I am sure I will hear it from some random fan....so here it is. Nikki Reed & her bf Paris Latsis were seen in the overlooking private box at the side of the stage. Elizabeth Reaser was there as well.  The one that blew me away & unfortunately I didnt know till after the show. Stephanie Meyer was also there.
Nikki & Elizabeth left only a few songs into the set. I didnt notice when Stephanie left, since I was unaware she was even there.

When the show ended I instantly headed for outside. 1- to find Jackson & the band. 2- to get fresh cool air. It was sweltering in there.

Outside 30 or so fans waited around the back, while 10-20 waited out front. Band equipment was making its way out for ever. It was then that I learned Stephanie Meyer was in there....I then noticed later, she was in some of my pics. If I had only known sooner. Eventually band members from 100 Monkeys started to leave & then I saw the flashes go off...it was Jackson. He spent little to no time leaving & was hurried into a minivan, and quickly wisked away. Jackson didnt interact with fans, which is VERY rare. I was shocked.

A good show. I took lots of pics & videos. Vids will be uploaded in a little while.
