As I promised back on the earlier blog posts from this day of filming, I had some more pics of Joshua Jackson filming, as well as Observer Michael Kopsa & another Observer who I didnt catch the name of.
The 1st scene I saw was, Captain Windmark and the other Observer get out of a car & walk down a street. No interactions seemed to go on.
A little later, a scene with Peter Bishop walking thru a covered sidewalk. Hes on the phone to someone, and stops and looks around, before proceeding to who knows where.
Later on, a scene where Captain Windmark and the other Observer cross paths with a loyalist who bumps into Windmark, immediately apologizes & hastily picks up whatever he dropped to get out of Windmarks way, while off in the distance, Peter is walking along ahead of them. Are they following him? Or just a coincidence?
Lastly, a few photos of Joshua & Michael chatting between takes, as well as the 2 of them, and the other Observer watching videos on Joshuas phone. I imagine it has to be a youtube clip of Dawsons Creek or a Mighty Ducks movie, or clips from Pacey-Con.
Anyways... here is the last batch of photos from the day of filming for episodse 508.
Back in early October, I saw scenes being filmed for episode 507 of Fringe.
At the time, I didnt really know much of what I saw being filmed the afternoon that I saw Peter Bishop sitting around in an old car. It seemed a bit curious, but a pretty unspectacular scene overall. However, after seeing the promo for next weeks episode
As well as the 2 previous episodes, I now know why I saw Peter Bishop with his collar popped on his leather jacket, sitting in a car with an Observers breifcase.
The question now for Fringe fans is, will the final 6 episodes see Peter turn into 1 of the soulless monsters they are trying to destroy, or will his humanity be saved?
Heres some pics from that days filming that took place on West Hastings street.
As I stated in my last blog post, I caught up to Fringe quite afew times in late September.
A few days after catching them twice in a few days for ep 506, I caught them again only a few days later for 507.
On set this particular day was Anna Torv (Olivia Dunham), John Noble (Dr. Walter Bishop), Jasika Nicole (Astrid Farnsworth) & the rarely seen Blair Brown (Nina Sharp). This was the 1st time I had seen Blair Brown in over a year anywhere, and only the 2nd time EVER (the other being in 2009) that I had seen her on a Fringe set.
The scenes seem to consist of the now silver haired Nina of 2036 rolling down a dock in her scooter, the landscape is covered in Observer posters hanging from lamp posts as Astrid, Walter & Olivia notice. Olivia goes over to her & chats with her, while the other 2 stay back. A little later they did other scenes where Nina was going onto a walkway in her scooter.
After the set of scenes that the 4 of them wrapped, I was happy to be able to get autographs from three of the 4, especially Blair, who like I said, I rarely see. The only denial was from Jasika Nicole, who in the last year has gone from amazingly pleasant to cocky & borderline rude. In the span of a minute, she denied 3 different people, 2 of which were people she was meeting for the 1st time. In the last year, this has been her usual response when asked for autographs "not today", the 1 and only time I DID see her sign this year was a day where a bunch of out of town fans were at the set during a Fringe Fan event that was going on here. Every other time, in the last year, she has gone out of her way to ignore, or deny, requests. She is going to be in for a shock when the show finally ends, and her ability to land a new job doesnt happen immediately. Guess she thinks shes made it now & doesnt have to sign, which is odd, as her more experienced cast mates are all great with interacting with fans.
There hasnt been a lot of Blair this season so far, as the story has focused mostly on the teams search for Walters plan to defeat the Observers. Just like Philip Broyles, who we only recently saw finally meet up with the team, Nina has been mostly relegated to guest star status this year.
Here are the photos from this days shoot, back in September.
Fringe photos - late Sept of John Noble filming ep 506 "Through The Looking Glass and What Walter Found There" & a few Joshua Jackson & Anna Torv pics
THIS BLOG CONTAINS DESCRIPTIONS & PHOTOS FOR SCENES FILMED FOR EPISODE 506 OF FRINGE. If you do not want to read or see possible spoilers for this episode... DO NOT CONTINUE READING OR VIEWING THE PHOTOS BELOW!
Back in September I caught Fringe out & about a few times late in the month.
My 1st such finding I caught them in the gastown area filming inside a building. On set that day, I saw John Noble, Jasika Nicole, Joshua Jackson, Anna Torv & guest star Zak Santiago. Unfortunately, the only shots from this set are of the cast outside the building during breaks. At the time, I did not know what episode it was for, but finding the set 4 days later, I now know, it was for 506.
A few days later the Fringe crew was in the West End of the downtown core on Davie Street. The location happened to be just around the corner from the spot that I last season broke the news of Joshua Jackson 1st being at set.
This time, the mad scientist extraordinairre was front & centre of the scenes being shot, as I found Dr. Walter Bishop (John Noble) doing scenes where he seems to be walking thru NYC doing, who knows what.
1st scene had him walking by an area where homeless people seemed to be camping with a fire in a garbage tin going to keep them warm.
A bit later I caught another scene where Walter is walking along videotaping himself. He starts the scene off wiping off his lips after eating something (maybe a doughnut?) and then proceeds to walk along talking into the camera, as if dictating a message to someone thru a video.
These scenes were definitely for episode 506 "Through The Looking Glass and What Walter Found There".
Below are photos from both sets. The 1st batch from the latter shoot, the 2nd batch from the earlier shoot.
Last week I found the Fringe set in downtown Vancouver.
As you have likely already seen from my previous blog post, Peter seems to have found some trouble in the episode they were filming.
Today, I show you that being an Observer is SERIOUS BUSINESS! *stern face*. Below I have photos of Captain Windmark (Michael Kopsa) and another Observer who I sincerely did not catch the name of the character, or the actor ( feel free to correct me on either) showing that there is absolutely no fun & games with being an Observer.
Loyalists, you way want to look away...this may be uncomfortable for you to see.
Just look how serious & rigid these monsters are.
THIS BLOG MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR A SEASON 5 EPISODE OF "FRINGE". Do not continue reading or viewing photos if you do not want to see any spoilers.
Last week I saw several scenes being filmed for the FOX hit sci-fi show FRINGE.
While I do have some other photos from the day to post from a different set of scenes, I felt the 1st batch to put up, HAD to be the set below.
Oddly enough, I didnt know what I was filming at the time. I was across the street, and in the pouring rain, I didnt really notice the finer details of what I shot till later when I got home & looked at the pics on my computer.
First, here is what I SAW in the scene. Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson) is walking up a street, I see him stagger some, either he is groggy or drunk (what? Your telling me its not conceivable Peter would have a few too many 1 night with the weight that he has on his shoulders?) into an alley. Thats all the scene is. At the time, I really didnt think much of it......
THEN I SAW MY PHOTOS. The scene Joshua was doing, where he is stumbling along, makes that much more sense when you realize Peter has blood on him. His head has a cut, his hand, soaked in blood, and he is carrying a knife.
The question now is, who did Peter get into an altercation with? Was this a native on native killing? Or did Peter finally take down 1 of the Observers?
Guess we will have to wait awhile. They were filming episode 9 at the time of this shoot (some said it was 8.. but I was lead to believe its 9). Anyways, here are the photos from the scene.
As ALWAYS. DO NOT EDIT THE PHOTOS. If you post them to your site, facebook, tumblr, livejournals etc withut the tags still attached, I will have them removed.
Fringe was out at UBC back in Mid-August to film scnes for season 5. It was the 2nd time in about 4 days I had come across their set.
1st thing I noticed was the Observer posters on the clock tower. As I got closer I saw a police state looking check point guarded building which is believed to be Harvard University as I was told by those there.
I never actually saw any filming with cast that day, but I did run into Anna Torv (Olivia), John Noble (Walter & Jasika Nicole (Astro..err..Astrid) after their days were wrapped.
On set, I saw Georgina Haig (Etta) & Joshua Jackson (Peter) arrive to a later shoot. Georgina and Joshua both had markings under their eyes like those of loyalists, Joshua was even dressed up as 1 of The Observers loyalist soldiers.
Tonight, season 5, episode 2 airs on FOX. Check your local listings for the time in your area.
A short video of Fringe filming episode 501 - Joshua Jackson as Peter Bishop & young Etta (and a little quick shot of Anna Torv as Olivia Dunham)
THIS BLOG POST MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR FRINGE EPISODE 501. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO SEE OR READ ABOUT ANY POSSIBLE SPOILERS....DO NOT CONTINUE.
So back in July, the production for the 5th & final season of Fringe started. Their first location of the season was in the very popular Stanley Park as I reported in my earlier blog post http://canadagraphs.weebly.com/7/post/2012/07/fringe-shoots-some-polivia-scenes-for-season-5-episode-1-on-1st-day-of-filming.html
By the time I got to set they were working on a scene involving Anna Torv (Olivia Dunham), Joshua Jackson (Peter Bishop) & "Abigail" (young Etta, I have yet to confirm if the name I heard is correct as no listing of her seems to be anywhere yet - NOTE Abagail Hardwick is her name) doing a scene where Peter sees Observers coming across the field & he yells out to Etta to come to him.
Obviously, you have seen the far better camera work & dramatically edited version in the Fringe trailers put out by FOX so far to promote the season. But I took 1 shot as well. Below is that video. I apologize if you dont like my camera work. I'm not afterall, a professional cameraman or using a real video camera.

Fringe Season 5 gets back to work after unexpected hiatus - Josh Jackson, Jasika Nicole, Georgina Haig and JOHN NOBLE seen on set.
A couple weeks ago, I ran into Fringe on location, shooting the 1st episode since they took an unplanned 2 week hiatus to let John Noble overcome a sleeping disorder he had.
This location was at the Terminal City Ironworks building, which practically every production has used at some point.
It was also the day that the 1st ever Fringe fan event www.thefringeevent.com was starting, so many of the fans who had flown in for it, also made it to the set...and I can say, might have been the most well behaved bunch of fans I've ever encountered on a set.
I managed to get autographs throughout the day from Josh Jackson, Jasika Nicole, Georgina Haig & John Noble on this day.
John Noble, took the time to chat with the fans & assured us all that he was finally ok & ready to get back to work. He also answered my question about the fan made "get well soon" video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuazM2QLqV0 that was done for him by fans. He said he saw it, and was impressed by the outpouring of support.
Jasika also chatted with the group for a bit.
I saw Josh before the group formed, so I am not sure if he later came over & chatted with them, but he was his typical friendly self when I saw him. Georgina was seemingly shocked someone wanted her autograph, but still came over to sign & was pleasant in the interaction.
As far as the scene, not much I can say since it was all done indoors. Josh, Jasika seemed to have earlier scenes, and John & Georgina seemed to join in a couple hours later.
Heres a few pics of the cast on set that day... I will have a few more from another shoot a few days later eventually, but with a big travel week for me coming up next week, I have a lot of work to do right now prepping for that...so it might not be for a couple weeks or a month.
Recently, going thru old files on my external hard drive, I found a series of short videos I shot back in Season 2 of FRINGE.
The scenes in these videos are for episode 210 "Grey Matters".
The first 2 videos are of Lance Reddick & Anna Torv (Philip Broyles & Anna Torv) doing a scene in Victory Square.
The second set of videos is from scenes where Joshua Jackson & Anna Torv (Peter Bishop & Olivia Dunham) race to a location looking for Walter.
This is the blog for the TV show Fringe. It discusses scenes that I saw filmed, as well as interactions with the cast. Any posts pre-July 2012 can be found in the "Random bloggings" section.
