How fitting, last few days of the filming in Vancouver, BC for Twilight sequel New Moon & I got nothing on one of the biggest nights. The Twilight filming started off terrible for me, and is ending terrible it seems. After getting shutout for over a week, going on two at the start of filming, I really managed to redeem myself thru the middle & later part of the shoot. But in the past few days, with the exception of the Blue Water night, I have again been in a slump...partially due to weather, partially due to Taylor Lautners new found attitude.
There has been a variety of notable Twilight cast get togethers in town. KStews 19th bday, 100 Monkeys Shows, Sam Bradley Concert, Sages concerts, Cast meeting the director night. Then last night, maybe the biggest of the bunch hypewise, Robert Pattinson having his 23rd birthday.
There were plenty of people around. KStew was still here, Ashley was still here, Jamie Campbell Bower was still here. Sam Bradley was apparently there as well (although I havent seen a pic of him there yet). Even Robs parents were at his bday festivities at Glowbal.
So there was lots of oppourtunity to get SOMETHING useful still.
But outside of a 3 second video I got of Ashley Greene & Jamie going into the establishment, I didnt even so much as see the tops of their heads. Quite a letdown after the last few home run interactions.
It was partially expected someone fron our group had to fail. There were two doors to cover. It was a 50-50 chance of getting the right door. I just happened to be on the wrong door. Oddly enough, they chose to go out the front door to the papparazzi who had the top end, high quality cameras, instead of taking the back door, where 4 novice to outright rookie photographers & 1 semi-pap with lower quality & slower equipment were waiting.
To make matters worse, it was pouring all night & even this morning, my shoes werent dry. It had a lot of hype & hope, and turned out to be fairly anti-cliactic. I couldnt get autographs because of the weather, and I saw about 2-3 seconds of 2 cast members arriving, and that was all.
With filming nearly completed, this was probably the last great chance to get a good shot at most of the cast in 1 spot, and will likely be my last big celeb hounding venture till the Toronto Film Fest (or the next Twilight movie Eclipse is filmed).
