The Flash shoots scenes for episode 305 "Monster" with Jesse L. Martin and guest star Danielle Nicolat, with Candice Patton
THIS BLOG IS FOR EPISODE 305 OF "THE FLASH". If you have not seen this episode yet, and do not want to see any possible spoilers from it. Do not continue reading, or viewing photos.
Back in August I caught The Flash shooting in New Westminster for episode 5 "Monster" with the shows director of photograph Kim Miles as director.
In the scene I saw, Jesse L. Martin as Detective Joe West, Danielle Nicolet as Police Chief Cecile Horton and Candice Patton as Iris West were on set shooting. The scene wasnt terribly complex to follow. It starts off with Joe and the Chief sitting down on a bench talking. The tone of the chat didnt really tell me much about whether it was a professional chat or a personal chat between the two. But what was clear was after the Cecile leaves when Iris shows up with a bag of Big Belly Burger (apparently the ONLY restaurant in the entire DC Universe) is that Iris did not seem impressed with her dads choice of conversation partners which makes me believe this chat wasnt so much professional, and a bit more personal as the daughter storms off in a huff.
In whats becoming an all too familiar pattern when 1 certain cast member is on set for a scene, the crew tried pretty hard to prevent people from being able to see much of the scene by putting up extra things to block the view & where they couldn't block it out, they had crew members stand holding umbrellas in the middle of a sunny August day... but as usual, I still managed to get my fair share of photos.
Before this scene, they shot across the street at the brand new Anvil Centre. Unfortunately that shooting was inside, so I cant tell you what was going on in there.
The Flash is on Tuesday nights on The CW in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada. This episode is currently scheduled to air November 1, 2016

THIS BLOG POST CONTAINS POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR "THE FLASH" SEASON 3 EPISODE 3. If you have not seen this episode yet & do not want to read or see anything about the episode. Please do not continue reading the article or viewing the photos below.
The Flash filmed a scene for season 3 in Yaletown on August 3rd with Grant Gustin and Candice Patton.
The scene was pretty simple. Grant, as Barry Allen was making every effort to woo Candice, as Iris West, his adoptive sister lets not forget, to date him.
Seemingly the scene sees Barry waiting for Iris to come out for a date. With him, he has two massive floral displays, one in the shape of a heart, the other spelling out his adoptive sisters name.
During the rehearsals after 1 take, Grant laughingly said "I guess now we're going out now". Which got a mixture of laughs and groans from the crowd watching the filming. But during the actual filming, both him and Candice put on their game faces and worked their way thru the awkward pseudo incestual moment that the writers insist isn't supposed to be weird.
During breaks as the crew worked to set up different angles to film it from, Grant would hang out with fans at one point, and chat with crew on other breaks. While Candice sped back to the cast tent and away from the public as usual.
There were scenes shot earlier that day in the same area that featured guest star Joey King, but I missed them by mere minutes as showed up just as Ms. king left.
The Flash, season 3 debuts TONIGHT October 4, 2016 on The CW in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada.

Those who are familiar with my blog or my twitter account are more than aware I generally have a disliking for 1 of the people in this set and try as much as I can to not post photos of them on this blog.... but, a couple fortunate moments fell in place for those looking for more pics of her. 1- I wanted a blog to post the day that The Flash season 3 arrived and 2- The only two sets I had of The Flash since my big season premiere spoiler blog post had said actress in it..... so here I find myself. So, enjoy.
The Flash films scenes for episode 301 in Vancouver - Grant Gustin, Keiynan Lonsdale & Todd Lasance on set
THIS POST CONTAINS PHOTOS AND SCENE DESCRIPTIONS FOR EPISODE 301 OF "THE FLASH".
If you do not want to see or read any potential spoilers to that episode before seeing it. Do not continue reading this article or viewing the photos below.
Better late than never, right?
Sorry for the delay in posting this, I had some delays with Comic-Con week, as well as a gag order from 1 of my sources on announcing what I can confirm now about the new character till a specific date. Thus the later than expected post of this.
The Flash started filming season 3 earlier this month in studio. The 1st location shoot for the show was in downtown Vancouver on Tuesday, the 12th.
Of course, we all saw the first promo photos of Keiynan Lonsdale in his Kid Flash outfit earlier in the day, and there was a reason for that. The production knew they were going to be filming in a very public spot with Keiynan suited up.
What they DIDNT either A- Anticipate, or B - care about, was divulging the 2nd suited up speedster also on set that day.
Todd Lasance (Spartacus, The Vampire Diaries) was on set as a mysterious 2nd speedster in a black suit. I have heard 2 different names used for him on set "Rival Flash" and "Enemy Flash" were used to describe him. What his OFFICIAL character name will be, is currently not known by me. But there has been a massive amount of speculation online, most of it pointing towards Black Flash, which isn't a very bad guess based on the colour scheme.
Of course, with Flashpoint taking place, who knows what we were really seeing there. All we do know is other speedsters are here.... including Kid Flash.
This was the 2nd location of the day. The first one had Grant Gustin & another actress doing a scene. The first scene of the day at this location had Grant Gustin dressed as Barry Allen and Keiynan as Kid Flash doing a scene where Kid Flash is falling from the sky, and Barry is trying to help him with his "tornado arm" thing hes done before. Whether it worked or not, I don't know. Because Barry had to race over to a dumpster to find Kid Flash laying in there unconscious. Barry then removes the mask to discover Wally West is Kid Flash.
A later scene had those two, with Todd Lasance where it seems Lonsdale & Lasance are facing off in a battle while Barry seemingly watches from the sidelines.
During the day I got autographs from Grant Gustin after rehearsals earlier in the day. After they wrapped for the night, I got Keiynan Lonsdale on some brand new Kid Flash photos that were just released that day. So all in all for me, a great day.
The Flash returns this season on The CW in October.

THIS POST CONTAINS POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 223 OF "THE FLASH". If you have not yet seen the episode and do not want to read or see possible spoilers from the episode, do not continue reading or viewing the photos.
The Flash shot scenes for their season 2 finale in an allley they have used in the past in downtown Vancouver in mid-April.
This time, instead of The Flash VS The Flash scenes happening that I saw last time I was there, we had Grant Gustin as The Flash VS Teddy Sears as Zoom, along with their stunt team.
The scene showed the speedsters in an altercation, and, it seemed that this time maybe Barry was getting the better of Hunter Zolomon for once. The distance from the scene that onlookers were kept at made it hard for me to get too many decent pics with my camera, so I apologize for the fuzziness/blurryness of some of them.
Both actors came over and greeted fans at different times. Grant coming over first, and meeting with the considerably large crowd for such a seemingly inaccessible to public shoot. Most of the crowd left after that, but the few faithful fans that waited it out got to meet Teddy Sears about an hour later, as he came over and met with fans before going back to do his last scene of the night. I managed to get a couple autographs from Grant, but missed Teddy as he got called back to work... but I managed to catch up to him the next day as he was leaving town after wrapping the season and he apologized for not getting to me the night before.
The Flash will air its season finale Tuesday May 24th, 2016 on The CW in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada.

The Flash shoots scenes for episode 222 in Vancouver with Grant Gustin, Carlos Valdes, Keiynan Lonsdale, Katie Cassidy and others.
THIS POST CONTAINS POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 222 OF "THE FLASH". If you have not yet seen the episode and do not want to read or see possible spoilers from the episode, do not continue reading or viewing the photos.
The Flash shot scenes for episode 222 in downtown Vancouver a few weeks ago.
They used a couple of locations on this night, most notable a building on Melville Street that they have used before (as as Arrow and others.). Later they moved out to the VERY open and public shoot on Burrard Street.
The opening scene. The Melville location had a couple of recognizable names on location. Carlos Valdes was there, along with former Arrow star Katie Cassidy who was dressed a bit differently from her Black Canary days, as she was there to portray the role of "Black Siren" the E2 version of Laurel Lance.
The scene was done inside, so we cant tell you what happened... but everyone that was there managed to meet the pair when they wrapped the scene.
After that, the production moved to the alley behind the building with a scene that had two actresses (which i confused for pretty much everyone on the DC roster at 1 point or another while I was staring at them from a block away, thought girl in red might be Katie Cassidy, then Willa Holland, thought the other girl might be candice Patton, then Malese Jow.) that at this time I dont know who/what role they were playing, seem to be getting chased by a cloaked villain at the end of the alley. At this time I cant say much on what the scene entailed as I suspect a lot of VFX was going to be added in later. If anyone has any insight as to who the two actresses are, or the villian, please let me know so I can credit them properly.
While that alley scene was going on, several of us met Grant Gustin as he left his holding area which was right near the first set, to go to the next location.
In the late shoot.. over on Burrard Street saw Katie Cassidy out in full Black Siren garb facing off with Grant Gustin dressed as The Flash, and with a little assistance from Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West. I can confirm that Siren & The Flash had a face to face sizing up, and that from all accounts of the scene I saw their stunt personnel play out, it looks like E2 Laurel was getting the best of Barry, and seemed to use something similar to the Canary cry device Black Canary had on Arrow.
I know a lot of people are wondering if we will see Laurel on The Flash full time now that she is dead on Arrow. My feeling was this was a 1 off telling of E2 Laurel. Maybe I'll be wrong, but currently nothing has suggested other than that yet.
The Flash airs Tuesdays on The CW in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada, and this episode will air TOMORROW NIGHT, May 17, 2016.

This post may include minor/major spoilers for episode 14 (and maybe 13) of The Flash. If you do not want to see/read any thing about the episodes prior to them airing, do not continue looking at the photos or reading the article.
Shortly before Vancouver productions went on their Winter breaks, I caught the cast & crew of The Flash filming scenes for episodes 14 & possibly 13.
At the time, the first location I came across didn't make a lot of sense to me as I didn't really have an idea who the character they were filming might be. I asked twitter at the time and got lots of answers, including 1 person who was right... but never said how they knew.
As it turned out the mystery man was Adam Fells aka Geomancer. The actor portraying him is Adam Stafford, which explained some of my confusion when the twitter user told me the correct character. I had said "someone named Adam" which anyone whos spent time on a set knows that's the ACTORS name, not the character, so when the user told me it was Adam Fells/Geomancer, I was hesitant to go with it since I thought they were confusing my comment with the CHARACTER name and not understanding that was the actors name.... turns out it was both.
A week later The Flash was all around the downtown core shooting a bunch of scenes. Lots of recognizable cast were on set during these shoots, but while I did miss scenes of Carlos Valdes & Jesse L Martin on set earlier and Teddy Sears in his Flash outfit, I DID manage to catch what was at the time the largest spoilers of the night.
Scenes were shot after it got dark with 3 cast. Grant Gustin, dressed in a very non-Earth 1 Barry Allen style, almost as if he was a professor instead of the sometimes awkward scientist we see week in & out. He filmed a scene first where we see a stunt double at the other end of the court making motions at him, and he runs over to a statue of Jay Garrick and grabs the helmet off it and directs it at the woman. At the time, not a lot could be put together from that. The coolest part seemed to be the Jay Garrick statue and Grants new attire.
Of course, a bit later the two BIG reveals showed up. Danielle Panabaker arrived on set, not as Earth 1 Caitlin Snow, but Earth 2 version of her known as Killer Frost. This was the first time publicly Danielle had been seen in this outfit, and it wasn't till she was on set shooting that many even were aware as the crew tried quite hard to protect any sight of the public seeing her at first....then once they did, they asked quite often to please not take photos (which some did, and some of course did not). After awhile, the shock of that spoiler had settled in and the crew became less vigilant of trying to prevent people from photographing it.
The last spoiler of the night came when she was joined on set by Robbie Amell dressed as the Earth 2 Ronnie Raymond version Deathstorm. Again, crew tried preventing people from photographing it, and at the end of the night Robbie even asked some of the fans to not tell anyone he was there that it was a big secret.
The scene they shot essentially had Killer Frost & Deathstorm trying to eliminate Barry Allen as he zipped around the courtyard. Deathstorm even tells Killer frost at one point "hes a speedster babe, watch out".
Unfortunately, there was VERY LITTLE chance to get a photo of the villainous duo together. The only shot I did get of them didn't turn out too great as you can see below.

The Flash airs Tuesday nights on The CW in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada. Tonight (date of this blog post) is episode 13, episode 14 will be a week later.
The Flash filmed scenes for episode 209 with Grant Gustin, Liam McIntyre, and Mark Hamill as Santa Claus....seriously.
A couple months ago, I caught the cast & crew of The Flash shooting right downtown at Robson Square.
By the set decoration it was clear, they were filming a Christmas time themed episode.
No shocker, in Central City even Santa Claus isn't a nice guy. But who is Santa in Central City? Why the Trickster of course. Star Wars icon Mark Hamill was in town to reprise his role, along with Spartacus star Liam McIntyre reprising his role as Weather Wizard.
The pair shot a scene with Grant Gustin as The Flash. In the scene Gustin is hold what looks like an oversized Sonic Screwdriver, which the Weather Wizard coaxes out of the Scarlet Speedster before blasting The Flash to who knows where while The Trickster sits by reveling in the events.
Getting a Mark Hamill guest spot just a week & 1/2 before Star Wars VII The Force Awakens hits theatres cant be a bad feather in the cap of the comic book hero series.
A video of the scene has been added below the photos.
During the shows lunch break that evening, a considerably larger than usual crowd was gathering around the stars trailers. Mostly, in hopes of catching Star Wars icon Mark Hamill.
As Mr. Hamill walked to his trailer, I caught up to him before he got close to the crowd and he happily signed my Star Wars photo, featured here on my new Instagram account.
As he got near the trailers, the crowd noticed & stopped him. Mark stopped, took the time to make sure everyone got him....then went to grab his lunch. After getting his lunch he went inside, ate, came back out, and signed MORE items for the waiting crowd and took more photos.
Spartacus star Liam McIntyre also stopped for fans. He at one point walked past the mass of people standing around Mr. Hamill and just had a look of interest and maybe a bit of admiration for the way the year old handled all of the attention.
