THIS POST IS FOR "THE FLASH" SEASON 3, EITHER EPISODE 309 OR 310. If you have not seen this episode & do not want to see or read possible spoilers, do not continue reading or viewing the photos below.
The Flash shot a scene in October in Victory Square that could be for episode 309 or 310 (I sort of forgot now which ep they were on). The scene is pretty epic in a lot of ways.... but, knowing how the show is, and considering 1 of the cast in the scene had just recently let it drop at a convention that she had recently read the script for an episode several weeks after this episode, its kind of 1 of those anti-climactic spoilers that will be ruined by a convenient writing switch to completely erase the impact of the scene.
In this particular scene, A stunt actor in a CGI motion capture suit that is supposed to be Savitar faces off with Grant Gustin as Barry Allen as The Flash. Savitar is holding Candice Patton as Iris West at the top of a staircase in Victory Square, while Barry stands at the bottom. Eventually Savitar make some motion that leaves the limp lifeless body of Iris West falling before Barry catches her as she falls. I know a few people asked on twitter about how I know he kills her. Well, plain & simple. Things I have seen and heard on set that night. Thats all I can say on it right now.
Obviously, as anyone knows. There is NO WAY the writers are killing off Iris West. In fact the actress said at a convention panel just days afterwards that she had already read the scripts for episode 14 which would imply shes still around (of course, whos to say shes not an Iris from a different Earth now.) Several things could be happening in this scene. It could be a dream. It could be a different earth. It could even be that she is actually killed and Barry has to do that unspeakable act of going and resetting time...... again. We will just have to wait & see how it unfolds.
Now this scene is unusual for several reasons.
First, no actual actor was on set for the part of Savitar, just a stunt stand in guy the first time.
Second, they shot this entire scene over again a few weeks later, but there was a slight difference in the fact other cast were also on set that were not around for the original scene that I shot in October.
Third, they DID have an actor on set as Savitar for the 2nd time they did this shoot, former Twilight star Daniel Cudmore was in the Savitar outfit.
Fourth, doing such a public scene for such a notable moment is rare.
As a fan on set that night told me when I told him what the scene was they were shooting, he replied "oh yeah, they do that in the comics". But even with that knowledge, I'm shocked they would shoot it in a public location (granted they tried to do it as late as possible & tried covering it up as much as possible.... the 1st time.).
Whether this is in the mid-season finale tomorrow night, or the mid-season premiere, I cant be too sure.
The Flash airs Tuesday nights on The CW in The U.S. and on CTV in Canada.

The Flash shoots scenes for episode 309 with Grant Gustin, John Wesley Shipp and Star Wars legend Mark Hamill
THIS BLOG POST IS ABOUT "THE FLASH" EPISODE 309. If you have not seen this episode & dont want to see possible spoilers from the episode, do not continue reading or viewing the photos.
The next episode of The Flash will be the 9th episode of the 3rd season..... which means the shows 3rd annual appearance of Mark Hamill. This seasons appearance by the Star Wars legend & 1990s The Flash guest star will see his James Jesse character looking a little bit different than usual.
The Flash shot scenes for this episode with Hamill on set in downtown in Vancouver. Also on set was Grant Gustin as the shows lead character, Barry Allen aka The Flash. But also on set this time was John Wesley Shipp as Jay Garrick aka The Flash on earth 3. More importantly, he was ALSO in the 1990s version of The Flash.... as the shows version of The Flash.
Despite some exceptionally aggressive efforts from the crew to block the scene from being seen by the public on the VERY public & busy corner of Burrard they chose to shoot it on.. I still managed a few shots. On this day we saw James Jesse shoot scenes with purple hair & his face painted up, he was walking out of a bank with bags (probably full of money). Then he drops the bags, and pulls out a tommy gun and seemingly shoots it at someone/somewhere that was off camera. Eventually they did a scene where Jay comes in and apprehends James. A little while later they did a scene where James is taken away to a Police van while Jay stands around and eventually is joined by Barry. A scene with the two Flashes just chatting was next.
Just before they went on lunch break, director Kevin Smith showed up on set to say hi to some of the cast & crew that he had worked with in the past. Smith was in town working on Supergirl at the time.
I know a lot of blogging sites, and even a "news" site commented on this shoot. The big question being "is Mark Hamill playing "the Joker" in this episode?" Of course James Jesse is better known to Flash fans as "The Trickster" but it was clear from his entire ensemble, he didnt look like the regular Trickster we are used to. Since Hamill is also known as "the voice of The Joker" to many for his work voicing the iconic DC character in a a plethora of projects going back to the early 90s, a lot of fans jumped to this assumption. However I dont think The Flash writers would have gotten the ok to use that characters name with the character currently being in use by the movie portion of DC. A more probable role is "the Jokester" who IS another DC character with some similiarities to the iconic Joker, and even is from Earth 3 and has purple hair. Speaking of that hair... Mark Hamill didnt cheap out & have the wardrobe department concoct a wig for him, he actually dyed his hair purple as I found out the next day when I caught up to Mr. Hamill leaving town & noticed the purpleish locks poking out from under his togue while he was signing autographs for some of us.
The Flash airs on Tuesday nights oN The CW in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada. This episode will be on next week December 6, 2016.

The Flash shoots scenes for their season 3 cross over episode with cast of Legends Of Tomorrow and Arrow also on set.
THIS BLOG POST IS FOR "THE FLASH" SEASON 3 EPISODE 8. If you have not seen the episode, and do not want to see or read about any spoilers, please do not continue reading or viewing the photos below.
The 3rd annual all-DC Comics programs on The CW Cross Over event is about to happen. This time, 4 shows join the mix, as Supergirl joins on with last years additions to the party Legends Of Tomorrow. Of course they will team up with the original 2 from the first cross over, The Flash & The CW's pioneer of this superhero themed show push, Arrow.
On a night in October, I managed to catch The Flash filming scenes outside B.C. Place (aka - the exterior of S.T.A.R. Labs) for their portion of the cross over. On set was a variety of characters from 3 of the 4 shows. From Legends Of Tomorrow was Mick Rory (Heatwave) & Sara Lance (White Canary). From Arrow was Oliver Queen (The Green Arrow), John Diggle (Spartan) & Thea Queen (Speedy) and from The Flash was Barry Allen (The Flash) and Wally West (Kid Flash).
While I was told that ALL the actors of these characters were going to be on set the night of this shoot, I cant confirm ever seeing some of them. I saw Grant Gustin, Stephen Amell and Keiynan Lonsdale at various points. But whether or not Caity Lotz, Dominic Purcell, David Ramsey & Willa Holland ever were on set the night I was there is unknown. I certainly didnt stay for the whole shoot, as it was dark, cold and the only vantage point was from a bridge sidewalk nowhere near anything. MOST of the scenes I saw shot consisted of the stunt team doing work, with Grant, Stephen and Keiynan coming in for the required close up scenes.
There seemed to be a lot going on, and frankly I didnt make a lot of sense of what I saw. I know at one point the Green Arrow & The Flash are tossed thru the air, and another time Kid Flash gets tossed thru the air. But what exactly caused all the chaos, I dont know.
The 4 show Cross Over event starts Monday November 28th on Supergirl, followed by The Flash on Tuesday, Arrow on Wednesday & finishing on Legends Of Tomorrow in Thursday December 1st, all on The CW.

THIS BLOG POST CONTAINS POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR "THE FLASH" SEASON 3 EPISODE 3. If you have not seen this episode yet & do not want to read or see anything about the episode. Please do not continue reading the article or viewing the photos below.
The Flash filmed a scene for season 3 in Yaletown on August 3rd with Grant Gustin and Candice Patton.
The scene was pretty simple. Grant, as Barry Allen was making every effort to woo Candice, as Iris West, his adoptive sister lets not forget, to date him.
Seemingly the scene sees Barry waiting for Iris to come out for a date. With him, he has two massive floral displays, one in the shape of a heart, the other spelling out his adoptive sisters name.
During the rehearsals after 1 take, Grant laughingly said "I guess now we're going out now". Which got a mixture of laughs and groans from the crowd watching the filming. But during the actual filming, both him and Candice put on their game faces and worked their way thru the awkward pseudo incestual moment that the writers insist isn't supposed to be weird.
During breaks as the crew worked to set up different angles to film it from, Grant would hang out with fans at one point, and chat with crew on other breaks. While Candice sped back to the cast tent and away from the public as usual.
There were scenes shot earlier that day in the same area that featured guest star Joey King, but I missed them by mere minutes as showed up just as Ms. king left.
The Flash, season 3 debuts TONIGHT October 4, 2016 on The CW in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada.

Those who are familiar with my blog or my twitter account are more than aware I generally have a disliking for 1 of the people in this set and try as much as I can to not post photos of them on this blog.... but, a couple fortunate moments fell in place for those looking for more pics of her. 1- I wanted a blog to post the day that The Flash season 3 arrived and 2- The only two sets I had of The Flash since my big season premiere spoiler blog post had said actress in it..... so here I find myself. So, enjoy.
The Flash films scenes for episode 301 in Vancouver - Grant Gustin, Keiynan Lonsdale & Todd Lasance on set
THIS POST CONTAINS PHOTOS AND SCENE DESCRIPTIONS FOR EPISODE 301 OF "THE FLASH".

Better late than never, right?
Sorry for the delay in posting this, I had some delays with Comic-Con week, as well as a gag order from 1 of my sources on announcing what I can confirm now about the new character till a specific date. Thus the later than expected post of this.
The Flash started filming season 3 earlier this month in studio. The 1st location shoot for the show was in downtown Vancouver on Tuesday, the 12th.
Of course, we all saw the first promo photos of Keiynan Lonsdale in his Kid Flash outfit earlier in the day, and there was a reason for that. The production knew they were going to be filming in a very public spot with Keiynan suited up.
What they DIDNT either A- Anticipate, or B - care about, was divulging the 2nd suited up speedster also on set that day.
Todd Lasance (Spartacus, The Vampire Diaries) was on set as a mysterious 2nd speedster in a black suit. I have heard 2 different names used for him on set "Rival Flash" and "Enemy Flash" were used to describe him. What his OFFICIAL character name will be, is currently not known by me. But there has been a massive amount of speculation online, most of it pointing towards Black Flash, which isn't a very bad guess based on the colour scheme.
Of course, with Flashpoint taking place, who knows what we were really seeing there. All we do know is other speedsters are here.... including Kid Flash.
This was the 2nd location of the day. The first one had Grant Gustin & another actress doing a scene. The first scene of the day at this location had Grant Gustin dressed as Barry Allen and Keiynan as Kid Flash doing a scene where Kid Flash is falling from the sky, and Barry is trying to help him with his "tornado arm" thing hes done before. Whether it worked or not, I don't know. Because Barry had to race over to a dumpster to find Kid Flash laying in there unconscious. Barry then removes the mask to discover Wally West is Kid Flash.
A later scene had those two, with Todd Lasance where it seems Lonsdale & Lasance are facing off in a battle while Barry seemingly watches from the sidelines.
During the day I got autographs from Grant Gustin after rehearsals earlier in the day. After they wrapped for the night, I got Keiynan Lonsdale on some brand new Kid Flash photos that were just released that day. So all in all for me, a great day.
The Flash returns this season on The CW in October.

The Flash shot scenes for their season 2 finale in an allley they have used in the past in downtown Vancouver in mid-April.
This time, instead of The Flash VS The Flash scenes happening that I saw last time I was there, we had Grant Gustin as The Flash VS Teddy Sears as Zoom, along with their stunt team.
The scene showed the speedsters in an altercation, and, it seemed that this time maybe Barry was getting the better of Hunter Zolomon for once. The distance from the scene that onlookers were kept at made it hard for me to get too many decent pics with my camera, so I apologize for the fuzziness/blurryness of some of them.
Both actors came over and greeted fans at different times. Grant coming over first, and meeting with the considerably large crowd for such a seemingly inaccessible to public shoot. Most of the crowd left after that, but the few faithful fans that waited it out got to meet Teddy Sears about an hour later, as he came over and met with fans before going back to do his last scene of the night. I managed to get a couple autographs from Grant, but missed Teddy as he got called back to work... but I managed to catch up to him the next day as he was leaving town after wrapping the season and he apologized for not getting to me the night before.
The Flash will air its season finale Tuesday May 24th, 2016 on The CW in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada.

The Flash shoots scenes for episode 222 in Vancouver with Grant Gustin, Carlos Valdes, Keiynan Lonsdale, Katie Cassidy and others.
THIS POST CONTAINS POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 222 OF "THE FLASH". If you have not yet seen the episode and do not want to read or see possible spoilers from the episode, do not continue reading or viewing the photos.
The Flash shot scenes for episode 222 in downtown Vancouver a few weeks ago.
They used a couple of locations on this night, most notable a building on Melville Street that they have used before (as as Arrow and others.). Later they moved out to the VERY open and public shoot on Burrard Street.
The opening scene. The Melville location had a couple of recognizable names on location. Carlos Valdes was there, along with former Arrow star Katie Cassidy who was dressed a bit differently from her Black Canary days, as she was there to portray the role of "Black Siren" the E2 version of Laurel Lance.
The scene was done inside, so we cant tell you what happened... but everyone that was there managed to meet the pair when they wrapped the scene.
After that, the production moved to the alley behind the building with a scene that had two actresses (which i confused for pretty much everyone on the DC roster at 1 point or another while I was staring at them from a block away, thought girl in red might be Katie Cassidy, then Willa Holland, thought the other girl might be candice Patton, then Malese Jow.) that at this time I dont know who/what role they were playing, seem to be getting chased by a cloaked villain at the end of the alley. At this time I cant say much on what the scene entailed as I suspect a lot of VFX was going to be added in later. If anyone has any insight as to who the two actresses are, or the villian, please let me know so I can credit them properly.
While that alley scene was going on, several of us met Grant Gustin as he left his holding area which was right near the first set, to go to the next location.
In the late shoot.. over on Burrard Street saw Katie Cassidy out in full Black Siren garb facing off with Grant Gustin dressed as The Flash, and with a little assistance from Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West. I can confirm that Siren & The Flash had a face to face sizing up, and that from all accounts of the scene I saw their stunt personnel play out, it looks like E2 Laurel was getting the best of Barry, and seemed to use something similar to the Canary cry device Black Canary had on Arrow.
I know a lot of people are wondering if we will see Laurel on The Flash full time now that she is dead on Arrow. My feeling was this was a 1 off telling of E2 Laurel. Maybe I'll be wrong, but currently nothing has suggested other than that yet.
The Flash airs Tuesdays on The CW in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada, and this episode will air TOMORROW NIGHT, May 17, 2016.
