The 2015 Best Of TV Awards Winner for Sexiest Actor is Stephen Amell.
A repeat winner, Stephen Amell takes home his 2nd BOTVA Award. The star of Arrow has spread his wings a bit since last year, being a semi-regular guest star on The Flash and will be in the upcoming feature film Teanage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 as Casey Jones. Oh and is undefeated as a WWE wrestler.
After last years shocking upset of the former 3X champion Jensen Ackles by Stephen, Amell repeats as this years sexiest actor. Just like last year the 3 time winner came in 2nd, although this time narrowly doing so. In 3rd was Mads Mikkelsen in his 3rd consecutive finals beating out his previous 5th & 6th place finishes in the years prior. Jared Padalecki in his 5th consecutive finals finishes 4th, his best finish since a 3rd in 2011. Newcomer to the Sexiest Actor BOTVA appearance managed a tie for 5th. Nathan Fillion in his 3rd finals, and 2nd consecutive managed to tie for 5th, a slight drop from his 3rd last year. Jim Caviezel also finished tied for 5th in his 1st ever finals.
Colin O'Donoghue in his 3rd consecutive finals moved up 1 spot from last year to finish 7th. Kris Holden-Ried in his 4th finals slips from 4th down to 8th this year. Alex O'Loughlin nabs 9th in his 1st ever BOTVA finals appearance in the category. John Barrowman in his 1st BOTVA finals in this category took 10th by 3 votes.
Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hiddleston, Johnny depp, Chris Evans, Chris Pratt & Shemar Moore all return this year to the finals list. Chris Hemsworth returns for the first time since 2013 after missing last year. While newcomers to the BOTVA finals in this category Grant Gustin, Tom Hardy, Ian Somerhalder, Josh Dallas and Liam Hemsworth all make their mark for the 1st time.

The Sexiest Actress category will see 14 of the 16 finalists from last year in this years final again. Only finalists last year to miss the mark this year were two of my faves, Molly Quinn & Jennifer Love Hewitt. Despite the finalists list expanding from 16 to 20. Newcomers to the finals this year will include Amy Acker, Sarah Shahi, Gillian Anderson, Hayley Atwell, Elizabeth Henstridge, Grace Park.
The last 3 winners, Emily Bett Rickards, Jennifer Lawrence and Stana Katic are all in this years finals. Along with 4 time top 3 finalist Zoie Palmer. In a rare occurance in these awards, pretty much all the leaders in the nomination round were near the top in the semi-finals. The top 4 in this round, Rickards, Acker, Shahi, Palmer, were also the top 4 in the opening round. As well, Anderson, Silk and Parrilla in the opening round all finished in the top 8 & did so here as well. This is nothing short of rare for these awards, as the opening round often sees 1 or 2 hopefuls being propped up by a couple enthusiastic supporters fall by the wayside in round 2 when the voting is limited to 1 each.
Last years winner Emily Bett Rickards had sizable leads in the 1st & 2nd rounds & would seem like a good bet to repeat this year.
The Sexiest Actor Category was not so predictable. While last years winner Stephen Amell did lead the semi-final voting, he was an adequate 8th in the opening round. The Nomination round vote leader Mads Mikkelsen continued with trying to make an impact by coming in 2nd in the semi-finals. His co-star, who finished 2nd in round 1, didnt even qualify for the finals. Strange to say the least, its usually not till the finals that fandoms abandon a 2nd choice when voting is streamlined to only 1 or 2 picks. Another top 5 opening round vote getter didnt make the finals, Vincent D'Onofrio, as the power of the small handful of voters he had in the first round couldnt get enough of their fans to follow suit in round 2. Jim Caviezel, Jared Padalecki & Chris Hemsworth round out the top 5 in the semi-finals. Only Caviezel was a top 5 name after round one of voting. Three time winner Jensen Ackles qualified for the finals in 7th, the lowest hes ever come into the finals at.
The Best Non-Human Character or Prop category looks poised to potentially have a new winner. The four time winner, The Impala from "Supernatural" seems to have some stiff competition this year. The "Person Of Interest" dog Bear has led the voting in both rounds, with another POI candidate second in both, The Machine. While The Impala did improve from the 1st round to the 2nd round by going from a 5th place showing up to a 3rd place showing & was less than 100 votes behind the leader, this is clearly the first ever sign of any challenge to the defending 4X champions crown. Interestingly the 3rd place finisher in round 1, did not even make the finals, finishing 2nd to last. While the last place qualifier in round 1 finished in the top 5 this round.
The Final round of the 2015 Best Of TV Awards will be under way with some categories soon. Each voting round will last 3 to 6 days..

The Winner of the 2014 Best Of TV Award for Best Recurring Actor is.... Tahmoh Penikett "Supernatural"
You have to hand it to Supernatural fans. While other shows like Castle & Arrow have dominated voting in their respective categories some years for the Best Program, actor & actress in their categories, their lack of support of recurring & guest stars on their shows is quite evident by the combined ZERO top 3 finishes in any of those categories. "Supernatural" on the other hand celebrates its 4th Recurring Actor Award with Tahmoh Penikett winning this year with 698 votes.
In 2nd was Kris Holden-Ried "Lost Girl" as the show was forced to compete for the awards offered to those with 3 to 7 appearance in the year due to the odd schedule the show had. The same for 3rd place finalist "Sherlock" star Benedict Cumberbatch who had the lead for about a day at the beginning before Penikett passed him.
In 4th was Travis Aaron Wade "Supernatural" well ahead of 5th place finisher "Arrow" actor Brandon Routh. A tie for 6th between "Person of Interest" star Enrico Colantoni & "Supernatural" star Curtis Armstrong. 8th was "Once Upon A Time" star Michael raymond James. In 9th was the other "Sherlock" star Martin Freeman. 10th place tie between David Nykl & J.R. Ramirez both of "Arrow" ahead of 12th place Kevin Alejandro also from "Arrow"

The Winner of the 2014 Best Of TV Award for Sexiest Actor is.... Stephen Amell
The 3 time winner Jensen Ackles has been dethroned by another CW stud. Stephen Amell from Arrow wins this years Sexiest Actor with 1,365 votes & a 479 vote margin of victory, breaking both previous records held by Ackles for total votes in 2011- 1087 and largest margin of victory in 2012- 270. The 3X winner made the list still in an unfamiliar place for him, 2nd, with 886 votes, his lowest total in the 4 years of this award.
In 3rd was the 2012 runner up to Ackles, who somehow wasnt even in the finals at all last year, Nathan Fillion with 660 votes. Coming in 4th was another 2012 finalist that did not make it in 2013, Kris Holden-Ried, 9th in 2012, made 4th this year with 560 votes after not making the finals last year.
Finalists from last year that finished in the finals this year as well include, Mads Mikkelsen (5th last year) in 6th this year with 451 votes. Last years 3rd place finalist Colin O'Donoghue comes in 8th this year with 186. Benedict Cumberbatch, the 2013 runner up slips to 9th with 155. Johnny Depp who was 8th last year, 1 of only three men to make every final finished 10th with 154. Jared Padalecki, the 2 time 3rd place finalist, who was tied with this years winner Stephen Amell last year in 6th, finished in 11th.
Chris Evans in 5th with 483 votes returned to the finals for the first time since 2011 where he finished 11th.
The highest ranked newcomer to the finals was Ian Somerhalder finished 7th with 214. Tom Hiddleston in 12th with 134, Shemar Moore in 13th with 125, Chris Pratt in 14th with 91, Jamie Dornan in 15th with 63 and Hugh Dancy in 16th with 57

the Recurring Actor category has historically been the "favorite Supernatural Recurring actor" category as 3 different SPN actors have won the title, this year seems like nothing will change there. Tahmoh Penikett & Travis Aaron Wade look like they are in a race to see who will will. Of course, if Sherlock fans ever catch on in the finals, dont count out Benedict Cumberbatch, who because of the shortened seasons of Sherlock finds himself in this category without any complaints from his fans. Brandon Routh from Arrow, Curtis Armstrong from Supernatural and Kris Holden-Ried from Lost Girl all seem like they are within striking distance of making a run at the award as well.
The Recurring Actress category. Historically known as the "favorite Supernatural Recurring actress" category with 3 seperate winners from the show in the past taking the award may be that again. But unlike on the mens side of the category, there does seem to be someone from outside the show looking to play upset. Katrina Law from Arrow finds herself sandwiched between last years 3rd place finalist Alaina Huffman & Erica Carroll from Supernatural in the top 3. 4th place in the finals went to Gillian Anderson from Hannibal, and she finds herself going into the finals again as a 4th place contender. Last years 5th place finalist Bex Taylor-Klaus from Arrow sneaks into the finals by just 7 votes, making it 3 repeat finalists in this category this year. Anna Silk & Ksenia Solo from Lost Girl made the finals, however last years Best Sci-Fi or Fantasy Actress Zoie Palmer did not because of the voting penalties.
I am going to take a moment here to talk about the voting penalties. I had 1 specific person whine A LOT about this. She went thru the trouble of making a long winded excuse why its unfair to Lost Girl specifically and post it on the blog post about the penalties, then when she was proven wrong with my reply, she took back to twitter (where she had badgered me with dozens of tweets PRIOR to the blog post) to bitch & whine about how unfair it is. She then posted a 22 paragraph rant on tumblr, and was again proven wrong with my 37 paragraph reply, and chose to delete my reply from her posts replies. I have no doubt that if this psycho had spent the same time SUPPORTING her favorites, instead of trying to coerce me to ignore the penalties that the shows fans earned, then perhaps the person most impacted by this, Zoie Palmer, would have made the finals of this category. I am quite confident this particular fanbase was capable of scrounging up 60 or so votes, they certainly do most times. To be honest, I thought even with the penalty levied against her, this was still going to be a cakewalk for the actress. Instead, her fans threw a temper tantrum, told people others they werent supporting these awards (like a person with a few 100 twitter followers is a vital endorsement... I dont even think with my 6000 followers I am a vital endorsement of ANYTHING). This 1 particular psycho spent HOURS trying to coerce, bully and defame me to change my mind. As you can see by the results, I did not. Perhaps her, and her supporters, and the fans of THIS SHOW SPECIFICALLY will understand in the future to read rules, and follow them. Instead of, as she put it "ASSUME" things would be how they want them to be. I openly stated I hope these penalties affect at least 1 of the shows candidates from making a finals just to make sure they understand the severity of their punishment... well, they paid for it big time. Choosing the category that they likely valued the most next to best couple to boycott cost them the chance to see their favorite win back to back years in different categories, to be the 1st non-SPN winner of the category. History could have been made. Instead, they whined. Just like Breaking Bad fans did when the show wasnt eligble for the Emmys 1 year, and Fringe fans did last year when their leads were ineligible for the main actor/actress categories, just as Sherlock fans did this year.....wait, correction. I never heard a peep out of ANY of those fanbases over those. Ok, stepping off my soapbox now.
The Finals for these categories will take place in January 2015 HERE

Defending 3X champion Jensen Ackles looks like he could be in a battle this year with Mads Mikkelsen & Kris Holden-Ried both outvoting him in the semi-finals. There are 8 challengers who made the finals last year that also have made the finals this year. Included in that bunch is last years runner up Benedict Cumberbatch and 3rd place challenger Colin O'Donoghue. Two finalists were not even nominees last year, Tom Hiddleston & Chris Pratt. Last years 4th place finisher, Misha Collins, missed the finals by 11 votes.
With 3 different winners in the 3 years of this award, Sexiest Actress might be on the verge of going 4 for 4 if the semi-finals are a sign of what the finals will bring. Despite the strong penalties against Zoie Palmer and Anna Silk for the ineligible vote penalties of the nomination round, both of them managed to finish 1st & 2nd in this category. However, they still will have penalties against them in the finals. At least going into the finals.... they look the the pair to beat for the award. The last 2 Sexiest Actress winners Jennifer Lawrence & Stana Katic are again in the finals in 3rd & 4th. However, the first ever winner Erica Durance, did not make the finals this year. Like the men, 8 of last years finalists made this years finals. The highest ranked finalist last year to not make it this year was Olivia Wilde, as she did not even make the semi-finals this year.
The finals for these categories will take place in January 2015 HERE.
