Your May Madness V Champion for Favorite TV Character is PERSON OF INTEREST (CBS) Round 6 of May Madness was completed yesterday. For the 2nd time in the tournaments 5 year run, a canceled TV show won the championship. This time, by beating another canceled show. Person of Interest, the 2015 Best Of TV Awards winner for Best Action or Drama Program, added to its impressive list of awards & honours in the past year with a win over ABC sci-fi series & 2015 Best Of TV Awards Best Sci-Fi or Fantasy program winner, Forever. Much like the favorite Character final, this match up was very close early on, with only a 6 vote difference around 900 votes in. Then, Person of Interest pulled away. This was similar to what happened with both shows in the last 2 rounds, as Forever came out red hot in those rounds, while POI was a slow burn that turned into a 4 alarm fire down the stretch. A very telling stat, and 1 I have in the past tried to tell many fan bases, the lack of non twitter/facebook support for Forever. Almost 90% of votes for Forever came from voters coming to the site from a twitter or facebook post, while only 58% for POI came that way. Person of Interest essentially won, because they pushed their voting campaign to other corners of the internet. Person of Interest features Jim Caviziel, Michael Emerson, Amy Acker, Kevin Chapman and Sarah Shahi. Created by Jonathan Nolan. Person Of Interest defeated Greys Anatomy, Hawaii Five-0, Criminal Minds, Sherlock, Brooklyn Nine-Nine to get to the finals. This years runner up, Forever has had a pretty impressive 2016.... for a show that hasnt had an episode air in 2016 & likely never will. The winner of the 2016 Best Sci-Fi or Fantasy Program, Forever has felt the love from their fans, who still, despite the show ending many months ago, still are holding on hope someone will pick up the show. Forever features Ioan Gruffudd, Alana De La Garza, Judd Hirsch, Joel David Moore, Donnie Keshawarz. Created by Matthew Miller. Forever defeated Pretty Little Liars, The Librarians, Supernatural, Agents Of SHIELD, & The Flash to get to the finals. POI, despite their cancelation, will be eligible for next years May Madness tournament as Person of Interest is still airing episodes currently, Forever, this is likely the end of the line for this show, , as it is currently not developing new episodes after a cancellation many months ago, despite its fans online voices. Your May Madness V Champion for Favorite TV Character is SAMANTHA GROVES/ROOT "Person Of Interest" (portrayed by Amy Acker) Round 6 of May Madness was completed earlier today. For the 1st time in the tournaments 5 year run, we have a repeat champion. While Dr. Lauren Lewis "Lost Girl" is the first ever 2 time champion, Samantha Groves, better known as Root, becomes the first ever repeat champion. Its been "Roots year" at this site. With her win in last years May Madness, Root/Amy Acker, has gone on to also win several BOTVAs, including Best Actress in an Action/Drama series, and now her 2nd consecutive May Madness title. Root defeated Audrey Jensen "Scream", William Murdoch "Murdoch Mysteries", Spencer Reid "Criminal Minds", John Reese "Person Of Interest", Oliver Queen/ Green Arrow "Arrow" to get to the finals. This years runner up, Henry Morgan "Forever" has himself had a pretty impressive 2016.... for a character that is from a show that hasnt had an episode air in 2016 & likely never will. Portrayed by Ioan Gruffudd, the winner of the 2016 Best Actor in a Sci-Fi or Fantasy Program, Henry Morgan has felt the love from the Forever fans, who still, despite the show ending many months ago, still are holding on hope someone will pick up the show. Henry Morgan defeated Melinda May "Agents Of SHIELD, Nathan Wuornos "Haven", Arya Stark "Game Of Thrones", Lexa The Commander "The 100", 2013 champion Dean Winchester to get to the finals. Root will be eligible for next years May Madness tournament as Person Of Interest is still airing episodes currently despite its cancellation. However, for Henry Morgan, this is likely the end of the line for this character, and the show, as it is currently not developing new episodes after a cancellation many months ago, despite its fans online voices. Voting on Round 6 (the Championship Finals) is currently under way. You can vote HERE http://canadagraphs.weebly.com/may-madness-championships.html The Round 4 results for Favorite TV Character were a bit of a mixed bag. Oddly enough a challenger that got eliminated had the 2nd highest vote total. This seemed to come around from fans of Forever, as there seemed to be a high amount of votes cast for both John Reese and Lucifer Morningstar. A clear attempt to possibly try to vote out potential threats to their challenger. 82% of Henry Morgan votes voted Reese, while 59% voted Lucifer, far & away higher than any other stat from any other character. In both instances, their efforts came reasonably close to happening....but in the end, just not enough. Both of the #1 seeds left advanced to the 5th round. The higher ranked seeds went 4-0 Samantha Groves/Root "Person Of Interest" with 404 votes had the most votes in round 4. Lexa The Commander "The 100" with 84 votes had the least in round 4. Group 1 (1) Samantha Groves/Root "Person of Interest" 404-378 (14) John Reese "Person Of Interest" Group 2 (4) Oliver Queen "Arrow" 209-193 (11) Lucifer Morningstar "Lucifer" Group 3 (1) Dean Winchester "Supernatural" 199-97 (3) Castiel "Supernatural" Group 4 (2) Henry Morgan "Forever" 207-84 (4) Lexa The Commander Round 5 results seemed almost predictable. The margins of victory however, maybe not as much. As the clear two favorites since around the sweet 16 round trampled their round 5 opponents for the finals match up that I think both fandoms probably were expecting for a couple rounds. One of the two #1 seeds advanced, while 2013 winner Dean Winchester "Supernatural" failed to make the finals, the 2015 winner & defending champion Samantha Groves/Root "Person Of Interest" did manage to make the finals and becomes the 1st character with a chance to win back to back titles.. The higher ranked seeds went 1-1 Henry Morgan "Forever" with 542 votes had the most votes in round 5. Dean Winchester "Supernatural" with 136 votes had the least in round 5. Group A (1) Samantha Groves/Root "Person of Interest" 434-156 (4) Oliver Queen "Arrow" Group B (2) Henry Morgan "Forever" 542-136 (1) Dean Winchester "Supernatural" Round 4 & 5 of May Madness is completed and round 6, the Final Championship match is under way now.

Forever & Person of Interest still looked destined for a collision course with each other in the finals. Group 1 (2) Forever 225-45 (9) Agents Of SHIELD Group 2 (4) The Flash 185-124 (3) Arrow Group 3 (3) Brooklyn Nine-Nine 239-126 (16) Luther Group 4 (1) Person of Interest 398-193 (7) Sherlock The only #1 seed left, Person Of Interest, advanced to the 5th round. The higher ranked seeds went 3-1 this round. Person Of Interest with 398 votes had the most in round 4. Agents Of SHIELD with 45 had the least votes this round. Round 5 results for Favorite TV Show was pretty much how I think everyone that had watched the last couple rounds expected it to turn out. A showdown between the two canceled series, Person of Interest (CBS) and Forever (ABC) seemed like the probable outcome since the sweet 16 round when the two shows clearly had elevated themselves above the others in vote totals and social media impact. Early on however, POI wasn't the runaway winner they ended up being in their match up, as 1/2 a day in they only had a slim 11 vote lead for awhile, but then eventually their fans got the message around to several other sites & the numbers started rolling. Forever however, was the opposite, opening up a 454 vote lead in the first 1/2 a day, and ending with a 469 vote win. Last years seemingly improbable finalist Brooklyn Nine-Nine (FOX) made it to the final 4 this year before it got mowed down by 1 of the two juggernauts, Person Of Interest. While The Flash got slaughtered by Forever. This result sets up the first ever final between two canceled series, as well, the first ever final between the shows that the two character finalists also come from. Group A (2) Forever 562-93 (4) The Flash Group B (1) Person of Interest 511-65 (3) Brooklyn Nine-Nine The only #1 seed left, Person Of Interest, advanced to the final round. The higher ranked seeds went 2-0 this round. Forever with 562 votes had the most in round 5, for the 3rd time in the tournament, they had the most votes. Brooklyn Nine-Nine, last years runner up, with 65 had the least votes this round. Round 3 of May Madness was completed a few days ago. Voting on Round 4 (the elite 8) and round 5 (the final 4) are also complete. The finals of May Madness are currently under way, and will end soon. Both of the #1 seeds left failed advanced to the 4th round. The higher ranked seeds went 6.2 Henry Morgan "Forever" with 624 votes had the most votes in round 3. Sherlock Holmes "Sherlock" with 289 votes had the most in round 2. Oddly Sherlock Holmes "Elementary" had the most in round one.... and BOTH of them lost in the 3rd round. Arya Stark "Game Of Thrones" with 65 votes had the lowest vote total this round. Odd stat, a Stark child had the lowest vote total two rounds in a row. Group 1 (1) Samantha Groves/Root "Person of Interest" 387-232 (13) Spencer Reid "Criminal Minds" (14) John Reese "Person Of Interest" 303-278 (10) Sherlock Holmes "Sherlock" Group 2 (4) Oliver Queen "Arrow" 268-182 (16) Sherlock Holmes "Elementary" (11) Lucifer Morningstar "Lucifer" 242-190 (10) Emma Swan "Once Upon A Time" Group 3 (1) Dean Winchester "Supernatural" 276-168 (5) Sheldon Cooper "The Big Bang Theory" (3) Castiel "Supernatural" 166-102 (7) Charlie Bradbury "Supernatural" Group 4 (2) Henry Morgan "Forever" 624-65 (6) Arya Stark "Game Of Thrones" (4) Lexa The Commander "The 100" 308-138 (9) Alexis Castle "Castle" Round 3 of May Madness is completed as is round 4 & 5. The highest seed in each group that was left going into round 3 managed to get into round 4, including last years runner up Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which is putting in a mildly surprising run again. The only #1 seed left, Person Of Interest, advanced to the 4th round. The higher ranked seeds went 6-2 this round. Forever with 761 votes had the most in round 3, for the 2nd consecutive round they had the most votes. Galavant with 104 had the least votes this round. Round 2 results included a few obvious winners, and definitely a couple upsets to me, and frankly, I'll say to the majority of the internet. One inter-show match results shocked me so much, I went over the details of the votes TWICE because I still didnt believe the results the first time thru.
