The show would go on for only 4 seasons, and 53 episodes despite being seen by most fans of the superhero shows that The CW would air, as the best quality of all the shows. It sadly was a victim of bad timing. The Sale of The CW, along with the sale of WB, all around the same time was too much for the show to handle, and it was ended much MUCH earlier than expected. Below are some photos I took on the set. If you are a regular to my blogs, you have probably seen some, or all of them. If you are a newcomer to my blogs, I took photos of their filming from the pilot episode, right through to the final episode. I have divided the photos into different groups, to make sure they didnt just all go in as a jumbled mess. First off, Mr. Clark Kent, aka, Superman. The 1st two photos of this set are probably my 2 favorite of all the photos I took of the show. One shows him giving the peace sign during the COVID restrictions era of the 1st season. At first, I thought he must be waving at some crew member around where I was, but I looked saw no one even close to me.... so I do think he saw me, across a park, and gave the peace sign. The 2nd photo, is another classic. He was at set, with a camera for some reason (it wasnt used in the scene, so I guess he was just randomly taking photos of something that day). He saw me with my camera, and he wanted me to take a photo of him taking a photo of me.... I hastily lifted my camera up, my settings werent perfect, as I wasnt expecting to take a photo so close, but it still went pretty well. The others are through out the run of the show, including the very 1st set I ever photographed him on (unfortunately, from the distance of about 3 football fields away...... at dark.... in weird lighting.... so it wasnt the greatest (shot 5). Of course, the show wasnt all about Clark Kent, it had many other characters. Lois Lane of course, along with their sons, Jordan and Jonathan. There was John Henry Irons as Steel, and Natalie Irons as Starlight. There was a plethora of villains as well, and I did manage a few photos of them over the years too.... although I never photographed Lex Luthor on set. I did get to break the scoop of what Michael Bishop would look like as Jonathan Kent after the recast with the 1st photos of him on set, I also got to be the 1st person to photograph Jordan Elsass as Bizarro Jonathan. I got to see the downtown Smallville set 3 times over the years, but only once when something was filming for me to see. There were lots of other sets I was at where there were multiple cast members there.... and even got to photograph the actor for Lex Luthor one set, when he was directing. Last but not least, I got to meet the cast. In some cases, several times. Every single one of them were class acts. I got to get photos with most of them, many of those photos, coming when I was meeting them as they were going into, or coming out of, the series wrap party. But none of them are cooler than when I got a photo with Tyler Hoechlin in the Superman suit on the season 3 finale set.
You can find 100s more photos that you see in this blog in the rest of this blog section. They are in chronological order by most recent set, the series finale (sorry, there isnt a way to reverse the order that I have found). Huge thanks to the cast of the show. Always class acts when I interacted with them. While I did have a couple issues with a couple different crew members over the year (especially in the first season), the majority of this crew was great to interact with. I do miss this show. It ended too early. You can see them in the tags on the right side of the screen, or HERE You can see the set videos I took on my youtube channel (these ARE in chronological order from the pilot to the finale) HERE

If you are confused on how many you can post, ASK FIRST, and I will let you know. Early this year, I took a gamble and went on a 2 hour bus trip out to Cloverdale, which is at the far end of the region Vancouver is in. I just had a hunch they might be filming Superman & Lois out there after someone had told me they saw the crew out there a couple days earlier. Since it was the week of the season, and series finale filming, I had to try. My hunch paid off, as I caught the very final "public" (even though it was on Private Property, it was still visible from public property) shoot for the series in mid April, at their "downtown Smallville" set they built for the show for episode 4x10. Titled "It Went By So Fast", directed by Gregory Smith. On this day, they were filming what appeared to be a large battle in the streets of downtown Smallville. On set was Tyler Hoechlin in his Superman costume, Bitsie Tulloch as Lois Lane, Alex Garfin as Jordan Kent, Michael Bishop as Jonathan Kent, Wole Parks as John Henry Irons, and Emmanuelle Chriqui as Lana Lang. I also saw who I believe to be Paul Lazenby (Atom Man) on the set, but could not see where he fit into the filming, although I did see him at one point rehearsing with Tyler for something, but never saw it being filmed. We see Superman donning several scratches on his face, and looking like hes in a battle. We also see Lana looking like she has been through something, as her jeans are all dirtied up. UNFORTUNATELY much of the filming that took place was just mere metres out of my line of sight. Mostly all I saw was Superman marching towards something, or someone in 1 scene. Later, Lois, Lana & John walk towards where Superman just left. We then see a scene with the Kent boys in the middle of the road, and the three prior names move towards them. Part of the town seems to be on fire (with the use of some orange plastic & lighting mainly...but there were some real flames), a downed helicopter was also in the middle of the street. One thing I photographed that was not in the shot for the scenes I was there for, was a mural they had put up this seasons at some point of Steel & his daughter on a wall that used to have a slogan "We grow it in Smallville" on it. If you are a fan of The Last Of Us as well, you will be able to see this set again in season 2 of the series, as they filmed a few days at the downtown Smallville set (just obviously edited the building names to fit their show instead) after Superman & Lois wrapped. Several days later, I caught up to the cast at the series wrap party. I managed a few autographs, which are now for sale on my Superman & Lois Autographs gallery HERE. I also managed a few photos with them, as well as some of the tickets for the event after it had wrapped & were no longer useful, which are posted below, along with a few other photos with I got over the shows run. If you are confused on how many you can post, ASK FIRST, and I will let you know. Early this month, the cast & crew of Superman & Lois were filming in downtown Vancouver for scenes of the penultimate episode of the entire series. This was the ONLY known downtown shoot in the entire final season....and they were only there for 4 hours of filming, which in the filming world, is practically nothing, as a usual day sees 8-12 hours of filming. That is 100% a budget decision. Downtown is the most expensive area of the Lower Mainland to rent. On this day, they were filming a scene just off of West Georgia, at a place thats been used for The Flash a couple times, and was less than 200 feet from where we first saw Tyler Hoechlin as Superman way back in season 2 of Supergirl. This time however, it was not the Man Of Steel out & about, it was his better half, Bitsie Tulloch as Lois Lane doing a scene with new cast member Yvonne Chapman as Amanda McCoy, an ally of Lex Luthor. The scene is set in Metropolis, and sees Lois confront Amanda outside of Luthorcorp. (I missed getting a photo of the Luthorcorp logo, but it was out there somewhere.) The scene has the pair talk for less than a minute, and that was it. Thats all they filmed for the entirety of season 4 in downtown Vancouver....and then they packed up and left forever. I WILL have some episode 4x10, the series finale, set photos & videos coming up in a couple weeks. I also have a few pics of the wrap party of the cast leaving, I may do a blog for that too....but we'll see. Video will beup on my YOUTUBE CHANNEL in the near future. UPDATED NOVEMBER 18, 2024 - Cast member name, and character name Last month, the cast & crew of Superman & Lois were filming scenes in a park in south Delta. The episode is being directed by none other than Lex Luthor himself, Michael Cudlitz. The scenes shot on this day included stunt doubles only (which I didnt find out till after they wrapped when I waited for who I THOUGHT was going to be Wole Parks & Tayler Buck to leave the cast tent...but was their stunt double instead.). On set were the doubles for John Henry Irons & Natalie in their Steel costumes, along with an actor that is in the burning car. *actor is Nikolai Wetschl, and he is playing Milton Fine, aka Brainiac. The scene had an overturned car that had somehow crashed on a road. It was on fire for the scene, and they had Steel come in, rip the door off the car, grab the person in the car, and fly them off to safety, where Natalie was standing. I was out there for several hours on this day, and they quite literally did this same shot, the whole time, with practical cameras, and drones. No other scenes were shot. Video is up on my YOUTUBE CHANNEL. So check in there for some video content. You can find the direct link to this episodes scenes HERE. Earlier this month, the cast & crew of Superman & Lois were filming scenes at the firehall in downtown Cloverdale, B.C., after a short shoot at their downtown set about 10 blocks away in the morning & early afternoon. The episode is being directed by Gregory Smith. The scenes shot on this day included Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent, Erik Valdez as Kyle Cushing, and Sofia Hasmik as Chrissy Beppo. The first scene had Kyle & Chrissy doing a scene where they are sharing a meal on a park bench outside the fire hall. They had a long conversation, unfortunately I didnt really hear any of the dialogue. The scene had Chrissy lean into Kyle at the end, and Kyle giving her a kiss on the top of her head. Sofia was then wrapped, and they started preparing for the other shot they would do there that day. A bit later, the crew all moved into the fire truck bay. There they had a scene where Clark & Kyle have a conversation. Again, a lengthy conversation that I could not hear. During it, Kyle asks the rest of the people in the firehall to leave for a moment so they can chat in private. At the end of the chat, you see Clark looking at a barbecue that has a "for sale" sign on it. Unfortunately, because of the way the scene is designed, Clark was never facing me for it, so I got very little in the way of shots of him facing me. Video is up on my YOUTUBE CHANNEL. If you are confused on how many you can post, ASK FIRST, and I will let you know. Earlier this month, the cast & crew of Superman & Lois were filming scenes at the 200 Granville Plaza. the episode is being directed by Gregory Smith. The scenes shot on this day included Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent, and Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane. In a daytime scene, and in a later scene Tyler was Superman. When I first showed up to set that day, I took a look around while they were setting up the first shot, and found a couple set pieces, including one for "Centennial Station" at "Centennial Plaza", on the Centennial Station sign, had a bunch of transit routes on it, which I found funny they all were just labelled "Station #__", instead of a specific location like most city routes would be. But the lines the routes were on, all had specific names. There were some generic ones like "Waterfront, Centennial, Riverfront, Central, Southview, & East Side", but there were 4 other lines on the map, with "Siegel, Shuster, O'Neil, Maggin", which happen to be the surnames of Joe Shuster, one of the co-creators of Superman Jerry Siegel, the other co-creator of Superman Dennis O'Neil, a long time writer for DC Comics Elliot S. Maggin, another long time DC Comics writer. Also seen on set, was 1 sign for a "G.A.N.G. Busters" initiative. I didnt think a lot about it, till someone told me theres a character of the picture on that sign, by the name of.... you guessed it "Gangbuster". At the first location, under neath, & across the street of the night scene location, Clark & Lois are walking along a street in Metropolis, with reporter badges on. One thing I over heard to give context on the scene, is they are there investigating a murder. A bit later, they moved above where they started to a walk way, and Clark & Lois have a short talk, before the pair leave arm in arm. A bit later, they moved across the street to the 200 Granville location for the night scene. This location has been used in the Arrowverse a few times in the past, including Supergirl season 3 premiere, The Flash season 5 finale, as well as The Flash season 4 finale. In this scene, they had Superman there, and he was looking a little different. Despite the fact it didnt rain more than a brief sprinkle the entire night, they had his hair looking very damp. The scene has a bunch of extras standing around in an area called "Centennial Square", Superman then shows up, by landing on the ground. Everyone looks at him, as he assures them everything will be okay. At 1 point, the director told the onlookers to look at him as if it was the 1st time they saw him, which I found weird since he used to live in Metropolis full time in the past. Before he can do much more than tell them everything will be fine, something is in the sky, crashing towards the earth, and he leaps off to take it on....and thats all there really was. After that Tyler wrapped. Weird part was, when they wrapped, there was 30 or so onlookers watching them film. As soon as they called wrap, EVERYONE in unison, with the exception of me and another fan, left, like as if they were under some type of mind control. It was wild. This gave me and that fan the opportunity, with a suddenly much smaller crowd, to get a photo with Tyler in the costume. He took a bunch of photos with crew members first, and said some good byes to many of them. I asked him if he had heard anything on if they have been told a date to return for season 4, and he said not yet, but assumes it will be about the same time of year as season 3 started. Then he left, for the final time that season. After Tyler wrapped, the crew moved down to the street below where they were filming, to do another scene that had no cast in it. This is where I think the most interesting stuff of the evening happened, even though there was nothing to see, because of what was HEARD, and what I saw at 1 point off set. They shot a scene with a bunch of extras walking around, then suddenly stopping to look at the centre of an intersection. The directors comments directing how the crowd should react is the key point for this part of the post. He tells the fans "you see Superman crawl out of the hole, he looks injured"., the next part of the scene, he then tells them "something else is coming out of the hole, its a monster", the last part is he tells the crowd to follow a green laser pointer on a wall up into the air, to represent these two characters going up high into the air. At one point, they filmed 1 singular take of a tripod set up right in the middle of the intersection. I am unsure if it is supposed to represent something, or if its a piece of tech they use for a specific look. But they only shot it once. The rest of the time was spent on these extras, and 1 bit of filming of looking down a road at traffic driving. NOW, why does this part of the evening mean something. Its what I happened to read earlier in the evening. On the storyboard, I saw 1 panel that had 1 specific line & a drawing interpretation "his spikes grow", with a rough drawing of a monster with jagged spikes growing out of him (I almost never show photos I ever get of any information I see that isnt ON set [aka - in front of the camera], but you clearly by now if you are a regular know my track record on things I see at a set). That is all I will say on the matter. IF you do not get the connection of the two parts there, I suppose you can just wait till the dozens of theory videos come out. But I suspect, after the reaction I got telling that story to two people, a lot of people will jump to this theory (once again) upon reading this. Video will come later on my YOUTUBE CHANNEL. So check in there for those later on in a few weeks. Some of the videos will be on the Patreon page for video tier members in the next couple weeks. Earlier this season, the cast & crew of Superman & Lois were filming scenes at the Vancouver Art Gallery. the episode is being directed by Elizabeth Henstridge. The scenes shot on this day included Tyler Hoechlin as Superman, and Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane. Also on set was a currently unidentified actress, playing an unknown character. In the scene, the unidentified character is standing up on a ledge, then Lois comes in and talks to her, and she gets off the ledge, and seems to give Lois a hug or something. Then Superman shows up, talks to Lois, and they have a talk, that I was told by crew was "very emotional scene", before the pair hug. Also, before theres any confusion... the pics of him with something in his ear is NOT part of the scenes. Thats him listening to whatever he listens to in between takes before he has to shoot. I had kind of forgot about this set till this past week. So here it is, better late than never, right? Video will come later on my YOUTUBE CHANNEL.
