Yesterday I re-arranged my day on the news (that I already knew but had since forgotten) that Paris Hilton was in town for a couple days to shoot an episode of the TV show Supernatural.
So I put everything I had planned on doing asid e7 instead went out for her.
I have never been a fan of her, thought she was a witless bimbo & an attention whore. While these assumptions may still be right, one thing she actually is.....is NICE.
While the massive majority of celebs would have scurried away like vermin when a spotlight is shot on them, she ate it up & happily signed autographs, posed for pictures & let the paps get some shots......for a whole city block. Sure its attention, and its what she wants. I get it. But I also respect that she is truly happy being a celebrity. Something others dont seem to respect or appreciate.
I really wanted to hate her, but I cant now. I dont "like" her, but I no longer detest her as I did before. She actually gained a bit of respect from me for not shreiking in horror at the idea of having to pose for photos, sign autographs or the paps lighting her up like a Christmas tree. At its peak, I think 30+ people followed after her down the block, and she was fine with it.
Yesterday, she likely gained a few new fans. They will go home & tell their friends how nice & patient she was.
If only every celebrity took this type of approach to fans and those doing a job.
Pics to be added when I have a bit more time....maybe tonight?
I occasionally argue with inanimate objects, but I usually win. So its all good.
