The majority of the primary cast from the Syfy hit show "Eureka" went down to the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con last weekend.
In total, Colin Ferguson, Salli Richardson-Whitfield and Neil Grayston went to the event that has become a major promotion tool for TV & movies alike.
The first person we saw was Ferguson. Now earlier that day, Colin had made an angry tweet directed at someone...assumed to be at the Comic-Con event, where he said "Dear Guys who want 8 signatures... dont call me an asshole when I only give you 4. It actually hurts my feelings." so we, autograph hounds, who ourselves are occasionally in the position of having many items for someone, obviously discussed the comment & were at the time on Fergusons side. Seemed VERY reasonable to do 4 items for someone. Unfortunately, Ferguson lost most everyones support when he arrived in Vancouver and of the THREE people who even asked him he sternly & with a touch of attitude said "I'll do one". One of the hounds even joked with him about the tweet, which Ferguson replied with "yeah...I'm still just going to do 1". Now whether Colin was taking his previous frustration out on the next people to ask for autographs, or, he was truly so put out by the previous encounter that hes now got this "fuck the fans" attitude, he alienated some people who have supported & promoted his show that is filmed right here in Vancouver. he handled the situation quite poorly, and certainly went away from the evening as the loser in the PR game.
Neil Grayston was also with him & was just fine. Willingly signing multiples and said this seasons filming has gone fine so far.
Sally Richardson-Whitfield also was accomodating to those who asked.
Stars from the locally shot show Eureka went down to Comic-con this week to promote the show, which has quietly made it into its 5th season.
While I didnt see Neil Grayston or James Callis return (or didnt notice them) I did breifly catch Colin Ferguson & Sally Richardson-Whitfield upon returning.
Both of them took the time to stop, sign & chat with fans. Sally went above & beyond what was asked, as she signed while holding one of her children, not once hiding behind that as an excuse not to sign...and to think, I have seen 225 lb pro athletes say they cant sign because their hands are full with a coffee & a newspaper.
Anyways, a few shots of the stars returning.
Also, check out my polls section for the vote on the best Vancouver based TV show, which Eureka is in.
I occasionally argue with inanimate objects, but I usually win. So its all good.
