Xavier Samuel this summer impresed me with his casual non-challant attitude to his new found fame. Lots of new stars fall into the fame pit & get egos. He didnt, and may even have become more personable as it went on. The first time I met him I wasnt sure about him, but as time went on, I learned hes a good guy. He also went out a lot with various cast members. Most common sidekicks were Bryce Dallas Howard & Ashley Greene. Heres a few pics from his time out & about with them.

After fighting off the general of all colds lately, I finally put in some quality time hounding yesterday & had reasonably decent results. After a quick stop off to get a few Canucks in the late morning/early afternoon, it was off to go for Eclipse. First stop was to get a few BooBoo Stewart autographs at the former ground zero of the Eclipse cast. Since the mass exodus of the cast earlier this month from there, its been relatively a ghost town. However, it seems cast members who are here for breif stints still go there...this included Booboo. When I showed up he was sitting outside, hanging with 2 people, sipping away on a Subway drink while his friends were eating. Eventually they got up to leave & my friends & I grabbed a few autographs & a I took a few pics. Hewas incredibly pleasant & seemed thrilled with the attention. After that I headed to the still practically unknown destination of the current Eclipse cast. Although still in the downtown core, we opted to drive over there. Things seemed dead for awhile, then eventually there were small signs of life. First person sighted was Chaske Spencer. My friend hurried over to get him before he went in the door. I showed up a few seconds later & snapped a few pics of him before he headed inside. He told us about the long nights of shooting where they werent getting back till 7 AM. He said he was going upstairs to catch a nap...cant blame him. It was clearly a short nap though, as I would see him more later. At the same time we saw Chaske, another celebrity was spotted going to a store nearby. Current Smallville villian & best known as Mason on Dead Like Me, Callum Blue was out doing a bit of shopping. I was going to snap a few pics of him as he left, but he came out & spotted me & started up a conversation....so I would have felt like a real dick taking shots then. We chatted for a minute as he walked back to his residence, not far from where the Twilighters now reside. Sometime after that, and before the next encounter I saw a handful of the 100 Monkeys leave for their show they had last night at Neptoon Records. There was a bit of a lull after that. We would eventually see Chaske again going out with a friend. A little while after that from a distance one of the hounds noticed Xavier Samuel & 2 girls leaving in the opposite direction. We hurried after them, eventually catching up to him just before he was about to go & see a film. He stopped & signed a few autographs, and posted for a couple pics before heading inside. Upon returning there was an excitement that things were picking up. As it turned out, it was not really the case. A bit of a lull happened again, but when it was finally broken it was hectic. Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon & Bronson Pelletier came out together & headed towards the club area. I stopped Bronson first, then Kiowa. Both who seemed fine with being stopped. Alex kept going forward. I caught up to him & asked him to sign as well, he gave me a less than impressed look & signed 1 with what seemed like a pained look on his face. I had heard he was not too receptive to autographs, clearly they were right. I then pushed my luck & asked if the 3 of them would mind posing for a pick. I got an enthusiastic reply from 2 of them & they posed long enough for me to get 1 good pics. I'll give you 3 guesses who wasnt the overly enthused one. After that they went on their way & I returned to wait for more. Shortly after that, Chaske was on his way back...again. I got him to sign a couple photos & he went inside. As the evening wore on, I was getting itchy to go & check out the 100 Monkeys show. So I finally decided to take off & go to the venue. On my way to the bus to take me there I developed a mild leg cramp & decided I was going to stop off at home first, which was a slight detour from my route, but still close enough I could get to the venue in 20 mins if anything happened. As it turned out, that was actually the end of my day. I laid down to wait for the cramp to subside, but it never did & eventually I just fell asleep.....but all in all, a fairly decent day, so no regrets on bailing early.                     So as I just reported yesterday, Rob is getting the itch to go out. He considered it last night & opted not to.
Tonight, he committed. A cast dinner (minus most or all of the human kids & Kristen Stewart) had a dinner tonight at Boneta Restaurant (which I have passed a thousand times on my way home, and always thought it could be a celeb hang out). The evening waspainfully dull. For hours we were staked out at the hotel with no sightings outside of Robs security guard going out to do laundry & have a jog. Rob had returned from his day of shooting scenes at Como Lake School pretty early & we were all convinced he was going to go out tonight for sure. The night dragged on, eventually it was around 9 PM when the first sign of life happened. Taylor Lautner left. A car trailed & found him at a restaurant just down the street, as it turned out he didnt eat there apparently. Just got dropped off there. Shortly after that the driver who followed returned & within minutes a cab with Kellan Lutz, Xavier Samuel, Ashley Greene & who we believe was Peter Facinelli left. We followed. They ended up at Boneta & soon we were hoping for a Rob & Kristen sighting. News would come to us shortly after that Taylor never went into that restaurant, but instead scooted across the street to grab Nikki Reed & Elizabeth Reaser & left. They were followed from ther,e but lost shortly after....ironically, close to Boneta. As it turns out, they got to Boneta before we did with the other cab. No one really knows when, but Billy Burke also showed up. Then it happened, and it was both sad & funny. With 4-6 LA paps, 2-3 Vancouver paps, 3 autograph hounds all just "hanging out" waiting for some of the cast to leave, who comes from across the street walking...ROB. Heres the kicker, NO ONE noticed him till he was literally passing them. With all those cameras in tow NO ONE was fast enough to snap off anything. He literally got in scott free. But where was Kristen was the next question. Kristen Stewart never came to the dinner. The ASSUMPTION (no proven fact, but strongly assumed) she went to dinner with her manager & brother, who recently got into town. An hour- hour & 1/2 would linger on, which included a multi person argument between the un-educated staff of Boneta & the wily veterans of legal loopholes, the paps. I videotaped much of it incase there was a need for it. In the end, outside of some unflattering comments & some light pushing, nothing was made & a truce was bartered between the manager of the place & the paps. I've seen how these "truces" usually work. Place theya re at says "we'll do the best we can to accomodate you". We agree & give them their space, and they try as hard as they can to fuck us over by sneaking them out back or side doors etc. With the exception of one nutjob who came out with Rob waving his hand going "no,no,no" they actually did what they said they would. They let us know they were about to leave, and didnt try to impeed our views, shots or anything. Quite civil in teh end. One cab showed up. I cant even recall everyone that got in. Just that I remember seeing Billy Burke & I THINK Ashley Greene & Nikki Reed leave. It left. A few more minutes would go by before the next cab was ready. It was showtime. Rob was going to come out the front door with 10 or so paps, 3 autograph houdns & a light dusting of onlookers. He came out, head slightly down, hoodie up, beelined for the cab & was in. Elizabeth Reaser and I THINK Xavier Samuel got in with him. From there they left & headed back to their hotels never to be heard from again. In the end it wasnt overly succesful for me or other autograph hounds. No autographs were had (except 1 Taylor...who left after everyone rushed out after Rob). Most of the paps there got something to satisfy their hunger & likely went away happy with the efforts. Like I said yesterday, Rob is dipping his toes into the pool a little longer each time. I expect more interactions to come. Hopefully next time I will have some actual luck. Friday was no picnic for me. It was my first day without a camera and I basically bitterly sulked about it. I am trying to remember going out Friday, but I cant. I dont think I did. If I did, it certainly wasnt for long.
As it turns out from talking with a few people, it might have been a good day to be there. Turns out Rob & Kristen went out in the evening and NONE of the paps were there to see it. They were scattered about going for either Zac Efron or various wild goose chases. Even fans didnt see them leave. All that is known is that they were seen around 6-6:30 heading in the direction of the hotel by 1 fan, and another fan got a picture with Kristen at a starbucks. Besides the incredible miracle walk of K& R, there was little else that day. The typical sightings of Ashley, Xavier etc. It frankly sounded like, outside of that miracle walk by them, the day was a dull & boring repeat of most other days. Saturday I headed out early afternoon. I hadnt been there too long when Ashley was spotted going out. I went in for an autographand she signed 1. She then went on her way & I was excited, because Saturdays are usually productive & it seemed like a good start. From there the day dragged on..and on...and on. About 3 hrs went by before a Twilight cast member would be seen......it was Ashley AGAIN, this time she dragged Xavier Samuel with her. They came out of the front of the hotel. Walked around the building, back thru the massive courtyard, and back into the hotel. A total of 4 mins spent outside before they decided to go back in. Quite random, but it gave me enough time to snap off a few photos of them with the camera I have been lent by one of the local autograph hounds. People were suddenly revitalized, we were thinking a Saturday night would be alright. We were wrong. That would be the last cast member seen. Not even ONE single cast member was spotted going out for dinner, to grab a few drinks, party, anything all night. They were covered off till after 11 PM and no action. I find it amazing, and suspicious. But the fact is, everyone went home that night without anything. Sunday I spent VERY LITTLE time there. less than 3 hours. I heard reports of Bryce going out earlier in the day with Xavier. when I got there. One of the local hounds/paps here had what he thought was a big tip on where Jodelle Ferland was, who I needed & didnt think I would have a better chance....so I went where I was told she was. After waiting 15 mins with the tipster, his GF went in and came out & said it wasnt her. He showed me the pics he took, she was right. He had me come down there for some kid. Jodelle is 15, the kid he shot was no more than 10 or 11. I was glad he let me know when he saw someone he thought I might need, but obviously annoyed it was a failed venture. Back to the hotel I would head. When I got back it turned out the guys were planning an evening dinner somewhere, and I really didnt feel like going to it since I had other plans tentatively planned. Just before I left, guess who was seen coming back into the hotel from Subway. Ashley Greene. Oh Ashley, why do you do this to us?? I trhink there needs to be a rule with Ashley now. She can only come out if she brings a different cast member with her each time. If this were to happen I am sure everyone would have seen everyone in the cast by now. Anyways, a horribly bad weekend. Pics will be uploaded when I have more motivation. Was a bit busy this weekend, so I didnt get a chance to post my pics from Friday. Got Peter Facinelli going to the corner store. Got Xavier Samuel walking from 1 tower to the other. Heres a few from my sets of them. As usual, if you post them elsewhere, please link the credits to my site.             After multiple epic fails, yesterday I would consider a small win.
It was the first time in a week & 1/2 that I actually interacted with a cast member. Got autographs, photos and video even. To top it off, I managed TWO in only a couple hours. Of course, there was severe fail mixed in & I am going to have to demote 1 certain cast member from my top 10 nicest celebs list now. But that aside...heres a small rundown of yesterday. I got to the hotel around 7:30-8:00 AM. Shortly after a fan tha tI have seen a few times now came over & told me Ashley was out walking her dog. I knew she didnt use the front door, since she never does...but I wasnt about to go and scope out a side door just for her yet. very shortly after that the first few paps showed up. Unlike the New Moon shoot where there were just the locals & the sporadicl out of towner who would be in for a few days & leave, this film there is no less than 6, and I have heard by next week 10+ regular staffer paps up here who have been sent here by the company & told to stay till they get what they want. Shortly after another local arrived & it wasnt too much longer before there was 6-8 paps & hounds lurking about, chit chatting & swapping stories. But no action. After a delicious breakfast consisting of a beef dip at the new favorite hangout of the regulars, the Deli-O restaraunt, I went back to being bored & would occasionally roam for a bit, but nothing much was happening. My time line is off by this point, so excuse me while I check twitter to see what time I tweeted about it...ok, about 2:15-2:30 the first sign of life. Kellan Lutz came back from somewhere in a van, and hastily ran into the hotel, head down, ignoring pleas from fans & regulars alike. This is a new Kellan thats emerged for this shoot. A bit, grumpy & unfriendly Kellan. Perhaps he his bitter over a recent relationship break up, I dunno. But his new attitude stinks & his fans were in agreement. Luckily for the fans, they were rewarded quickly there after. Peter Facinelli made what is likely to be HIS last jaunt outside the hotel on foot. He merely walked over to 7-11 & it took him 15 minutes to get there & back. Fans stopped him for autographs, photos, photos with their kids, and he even spoke some. I asked him about the Jennie fiasco from the day earlier (unfortunately I didnt have my camera running at that moment. DUMB DUMB DUMB) he said confidently that its been sorted out, that she was taken out of context. He seemed fine talking about it, not put out or annoyed. Taking it all in stride. He joked about how if he had known he was going to be seen by so many people he would have taken a shower first. He was very friendly, very accomodating & made the exact opposite impression on the fans that Mr. Lutz made minutes before. After that, there was about a 2 hr lul, till the next chance to get someone. Xavier Samuel, one of the newcomers to the cast walked thru the courtyard from 1 tower to the other. A couple fans spotted him, rushed onto the grounds & interacted with him. As he came thru the driveway, I called him over to sign, and he made the 70-100 yard walk over to do it. Of course, fans swarmed in from every direction & he went from having to sign 2 items for me, to signing and taking pics for probably 3-5 mins. After that, action literally dried right up. No sightings not even any "I think I saw" type sightings. It was just plain dead. After a long day that was including 12 hrs of waiting & 2- 3 hours of being up before it, I chose to go home early that night. No sense burning myself out & because I was barely keeping my eyes open. I got home around 7:15-7:30 and didnt even spend the time getting fully changed, and went to sleep. 9:20 PM my phone rang, it was a call from one of the guys telling me the cast had a party at a restaraunt that I had never heard of. Considering I only got about 2 hrs of sleep, I was suprisingly alert & re-energized when I got up & set out to find the Miku Sushi restaraunt. I had a little trouble since I had never heard of it, but was directed to where it was on the phone & showed up to see 6-8 paps out on the sidewalk, and would later find 4-6 hounds & paps, including a new pap I hadnt seen till then on the back side of the restaraunt. Sporadic sighings for breif moments were seen inside the restaraunt that was set in away from the street and for the mostpart, they had the evening to themselves. There were still some opportunities to get a couple pics here & there, but zero chance for an autograph or a fan encounter. The security of the tower the restaraunt was at called the cops, and a squad showed up. 5 cops in total, and later on, more would show up. On a Friday night in downtown Vancouver, FIVE of Vancouvers police officers were being wasted to tell the paps to stay off the property....which they were when the cops showed up. The two old useless wannabe rent-a-cops who patrolled the place with the grace of Barney Fife had so little confidence in themselves they felt the need to waste 5+ of the cities real cops to babysit grown adults who were actually following the rules already. Pathetic. They came ove,r gave the whole lecture about public property. Then proceeded to go into the restaraunt & basically stand at the door till they were asked to help escort cast mates away. Around 10:45 the first cast left. Kellan Lutz & what was believed to be Ashley Grene, left the restaraunt, into the enclosed private foyer of the building, 200 feet away, behind a locked door & glass....WITH A POLICE ESCORT. I am sure the cops had to be talking later about how pathetic the security at this place were. A police escort was requested for Kellan & Ashley in a private LOCKED building to get from 1 door, to an elevator. WOW. The pair was taken int the underground SECURED & LOCKED gated underground parking garage where a cab was waiting to wisk them away. When it left, I was the only one that went over to where it was leaving from & they both acted like I had 45 cameras pointe at them, doing the whole "protect our identity at all costs" thing that celebs who think too much of themselves & shamed criminals do leaving the courthouse. Shortly after that, the cops left. I envision this coversation happening. Cop 1 "did we seriously escort someone to their vehicle inside a locked building into a locked parking garage?" Cop 2 "I think so, but obviously we must be mistaken. There HAD to be some threat we didnt see" Cop 3 "Nope, you missed nothing. These guys are fucking retards." Cop 4 "so should we bail?" Cop 5 " Bail? Yes, but after we beat these retards with out batons" (other 4 cops ponder the option for a moment) (they get back upstairs) Cop 1 (to the building security) "so we've decided in lieu of beating you with our batons we are just going to leave & ridicule you for the rest of the night in private. Ok?" Witless Security guard "b...b....b...bu..buu.but" Cop 2 "no please. Dont speak another word." (cops leave, fade to black) Shortly after that, the hapless security morons went about, taking the patrons of their establishment into the elevators without incident, since its in a locked building and all...and soon, 5-7 main cast members were being transported out of the restaraunt by 3 cabs & the rush back to the hotel was on. Once back to the hotel, they pulled into the front, with 4-6 cars full of paps & hounds in tow, Robs cab circled the lot twice, before finally taking it downstairs into the underground parking lot, which was opened up just for him & rushed inside. Night over. I then went home & resumed the sleep I had interruped. Even though it was a horribly pointless event, I am glad I didnt miss it, as the absurdity of the slack jawwed yokels they had "securing" the cast inside the locked building was entertainment enough. Bryce Dallas Howard...and other Twilight Eclipse castmates arriving in Vancouver for pre-production8/8/2009 On Monday Bryce Dallas Howard, the controvertial replacement in the Twilight Saga series 3rd installment "Eclipse" for the character "Victoria" (previously played by Rachelle Lefevre) was seen arriving at YVR in Vancouver with several castmates in tow. While the likes of Klenna Lutz, Nikki Reed, Elizabeth Reaser, Ashley Greene & other newcomer Xavier Samuel got by the group of fans & paps mostly un-noticed, Bryce was front & centre for them all. Not a lot is said in the video & its not overly fascinating...but it is from her arrival, the first time she was seen in Vancouver for this film. BRYCE DALLAS HOWARD first arriving in Vancouver with Twilight Eclipse castmates Kellan Lutz, Xavier Samuel, Ashley Greene, Elizabeth Reaser and Nikki Reed Castmates for the upcoming Twilight Saga:Eclipse movie arriving in vancouver. Bryce Dallas Howard, the new controversial replacement for the character Victoria is seen for the first time in vancouver. Her castmates, Nikki Reed, Ashley Greene, Elizabeth Reaser, Kellan Lutz & Xavier Samuel seem to slip by as most people stop to try & get an autograph or comment from Bryce. |
