If you are confused on how many you can post, ASK FIRST, and I will let you know. This is a different type of blog for me. This is on content I had shot back in 2017, but because of the fact there wasnt much there at the time, and a lot of content from the crossover that took place around that time, this got forgotten. I caught up with Supergirl back then filming a couple scenes. First was Mehcad Brooks shooting a scene outside a building that they dressed to be a Catco office. I can honestly say I dont recall what the scene was. But theres a couple photos there for you from that location. Later they shot a scene down the street with Mehcad as James Olsen, with Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor. They seemed to be on a date when they cross paths with Adrian Pasdar, playing the role of Morgan Edge. The trio have a conversation, before parting ways. Not much to add to this set at this time, as it is older content that I had forgotten about. But here it is for you. I have some behind the scene videos from various (not this set) Supergirl scenes on my YOUTUBE CHANNEL. So check in there for those. See first look photos & videos on my Patreon page for as little as $1 a month for photos, and $5 for videos. THIS BLOG POST IS FOR "SUPERGIRL" SEASON 3 EPISODE 8 "CRISIS ON EARTH X" AND MAY CONTAIN POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR THE EPISODE. If you have not seen the episode, and do not want to see or read possible spoilers about it prior to seeing it, do not continue reading the article or viewing the photos below. . . . last warning . . The 2017 Arrowverse crossover episodes, all titled "Crisis On Earth X" have been filming through most of October in Vancouver, and last week I caught up with the Supergirl crew shooting part of their segment of the 4 episode event. On this day, they shot a variety of scenes. In the morning they shot a scene on a roof with a Earth X character named "Overgirl" that I missed due to their scheduling and other commitments I had. When I got there in the early afternoon they were prepping to shoot a scene out in front of the the St. Andrews Wesley Church. The scene sees Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers and Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers having a chat when Legends Of Tomorrow star Caity Lotz as Sara Lance arrives, says a few words to Alex, before going into the church, leaving Kara to tease & grill Alex about the clear flirtatious conversation the pair seemingly had. Its been strongly rumoured the 2 characters may be hooking up in the episode after the very publicly posted departure of Floriana Lima as Maggie Sawyer leaves Alex's love life with a vacancy, much to the growing fanbase of fans who like Maggie & Alex together. After they shot this scene, all 3 actresses wrapped their day there, and left, making way for the production to prepare for their final scenes of the day, on the other side of the church that didnt even have any Supergirl cast in it, as The Flash and Arrow stars were on hand for the shoot, Many of you may already have seen the youtube video I posted of their rehearsal of this scene where Melissa goes a bit off script near the end. Back in August, I found the Supergirl set shooting some scenes in a park in the Coal Harbour area of downtown Vancouver. On set that day when I got there was Katie McGrath, Odette Annable and Mehcad Brooks. The trio were shooting a scene at a stage area set up to look like a press conference. Behind the stage was a large LCorp sign, and scattered throughout the crowd of extras were signs demanding justice/vengeance against LCorp. Directed by Arrowverse regular director, famed comic book legend, and actor Kevin Smith, the scene saw Katie as Lena Luthor step up to the podium with Mehcad as James Olsen and Odette as Reign beside her. Lena then gave a speech where she tells the crowd that she sees their signs, and is going to step down as the head of LCorp, but before the crowd has even a moment to revel in the statement, gun shots ring out and James dives to push Lena to safety, while Reign moves off in the other direction. A bit later we see another scene being shot. This time, Supergirl herself..... errr I mean mild mannered reporter Kara Danvers, is on set. Melissa Benoist joined the trio for the later scenes.
In the later scenes, we see Kara standing up in the middle of the crowd while everyone goes fleeing for safety. Meanwhile up on the stage, we find out that James got shot in the arm. they also filmed a quick scene of a girl in a hoodie being apprehended (I'm assuming the shooter?) in the middle of the crowd. During breaks in the latter half of the shooting day, the cast were preoccupied with meeting with a couple little girls from the Make A Wish foundation. While I decided it was not the best time to photograph cast, some of the other photographers there did. I couldnt resist though, a shot of them snapping the clapper board with Melissa during one take. The cast were nothing short of exceptional in how much patience & time they took with the kids. While everyone that goes to sets would expect nothing less from the other 3, I think most of us were all at the least a little surprised to see the usually impossible to get an interaction with Melissa spending so much time with them. It was nice to see her being nice to someone at the set for a change. The girls also got to call rolling once, and got to hang out with Melissa to watch while the others did a scene Melissa wasnt in at that point. Throughout the day, director Kevin Smith went around to crew, and at least twice to the fans watching and handed out Tim Hortons Timbits (for those not from Canada, basically, donut holes). The cast & crew shot scenes for the season 3 in a couple spots in the area around the Vancouver Train Station/Greyhound Bus station in August. In the daytime, they shot a scene in the park across the street from the station with Floriana Lima and Carlos Bernard. Lime of course as Maggie Sawyer, while Bernard was playing the part of her father on the show. The first scene they shot was 1 where Maggie gives her father an old photo, before she walks away on him, leaving him to ponder what she gave/said to him. Later in the day they moved across the street to shoot a scene where the paid were having a bit of a heated debate. The jist of it was Maggie telling him how things have been for her since he left, and he essentially replied with a tone of, its been hard for everyone. In an odd moment, Bernards character makes reference to the Donald Trump claim that he is going to build a wall. Whether the Supergirl world President Olivia Marsdin has the same ideas we dont know yet. Perhaps the writers didnt think that through when they made the very political statement in their script.... or perhaps, they have found a way of making it relevant to the shows storylines? We will have to wait & see. Later that night, they moved around the corner from there to shoot a scene at a warehouse with Melissa Benoist and David Harewood doing a couple quick scenes, including one where the pair are sitting in a car together, and drive out of a garage. For whatever reason Supergirl is wearing a scarf in the scene. Why they are going for a drive, who knows? But the last shot they did of the night seemed to be one of the viewpoint of the car, looking off into the distance in the sky.... so perhaps they see something up there.... or the car can fly. In either case, it was a scene there wasnt much luck seeing as they had it mostly covered up by the building on 1 side, and the fenced off lot on the other side..... so the few photos you see below really is all I saw of it that night.
