The cast & crew of Arrow was shooting scenes for episode 720 last month in East Vancouver at a church. As most of you already know from the photo set I posted back when it was shot HERE there was several cast there, including a returning cast member that we had only seen this year so far in flash forward scenes. Of course, all the current day heroes were on set. Stephen Amell as Green Arrow, David Ramsey as Spartan, Rick Gonzalez as Wild Dog, and Juliana Harkavy as Black Canary were on set. Joining them was Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak..... but ALSO with the team was Colton Haynes as Arsenal. This is 1 quick clip of the gang going into the "Star City Metro subway system" and them coming back out. First time this season (assuming he doesn't show up prior) that we will see Roy Harper in modern day scenes, let alone dressed up as Arsenal. Of course, at the time of the set, fans of Felicity were thrilled to see her out & about, because they were happy to see the writers weren't going have her be "house ridden" on screen because of her characters pregnancy. But now.... looks like this might be one of the last hurrahs for her character out in the field. Arrow season 8 will be the final season. Arrow season 7 returns from their hiatus on April 15th, 2019 on The CW in the U.S. (I'd link to their page on the site, as I used to... but it is LITERALLY pointless now, because they just put up a big black screen saying you cant watch unless your American. Morons made that decision, literal, morons.) For other behind the scene blog posts of Arrow go HERE For Arrow autographs gallery go HERE

THIS BLOG POST IS FOR "ARROW" SEASON 7 EPISODE 20 titled "Confessions". If you have not seen the episode, and do not want to see or read possible spoilers about it prior to seeing it, do not continue reading the article or viewing the photos below. . . . last warning . . PLEASE NOTE - New Photo limits are in place for website use/social media posts. PLEASE MAKE YOURSELF FAMILIAR WITH THE NEW GUIDELINES POSTED HERE. I will not be responsible for your ignorance. If I file a takedown notice on you, it really is on you for not educating yourself. If you are confused on how many you can post, ASK FIRST, and I will let you know. Last night I caught Arrow out and about in East Vancouver on a rare out of the downtown location for me to check out. With the sad announcement recently that Arrow is ending next season, and the all too rare chances to see Arrow on location in the past couple years since they have built up their studio sets so much. I felt I should take the chance and check it out. Below are photos & video (video will be up at a later date) of the scene being shot. There was not a lot going on in the scenes I saw. The first scene MIGHT have included cast, but if they were there, they were so deeply tucked in to the area the camera was aiming that you could not see them. It mostly seemed to consist of Star City Emergency personnel handling some type of situation at the Star City Metro (after the 100s of times our skytrain has gone by in the background of their scenes, they finally acknowledge they have their own service) as onlookers and media waited to see what happened. A bit later, they did a scene where The Vigilante Task Force, also known as Team Arrow shows up and goes inside the Metro building. Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, David Ramsey as John Diggle/ Spartan, Juliana Harkavy as Dinah Drake/ Black Canary and Rick Gonzalez as Rene Ramirez/ Wild Dog were all there in their full costumes. As well Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak was along with the gang on this adventure. But at you surely noticed in the intro photo above, there was ONE MORE costumed hero.... Colton Haynes, as Roy Harper/ Arsenal was with the team. Everyone has been waiting for his return to the present day scenes, and now we have confirmation he will be back eventually in present day. The question now is..... where is Thea? Also, snagged a couple quick pics for the Olicity fans out there of Stephen and Emily talking between scenes. There might be a few more photos later, as well, a video to post. But for now, here is your 1st look at Colton Hayes as Arsenal back on Arrow set. For other behind the scene blog posts of Arrow go HERE For Arrow autographs gallery go HERE Better late than never I suppose. I do suck at keeping up on uploading videos, soooo its no shock that heres some never before seen video from me on the set of Arrow from March 2014. In the scene we see Colton Haynes playing the part of Mirakuru influenced Roy Harper as he takes out a couple of SCPD officers. Arrow starts work on season 4 (sadly without Colton as a regular) next week. Arrow returns this fall to The CW in the U.S. and CTV in Canada. Here are some photos I posted back when I shot this scene with Colton and Bex Taylor-Klaus. Better late than never? Right? well, this year I have often fallen behind on getting blog posts up in time. Another example... this post. Arrow shot scenes for episode 318 awhile ago in downtown Vancouver and did so with the blatant knowledge they were giving up a huge spoiler to those who witnessed it. One of the things I LOVE about Arrow so far is their complete disregard for the public seeing their potential spoilers. While other productions in town treat insignificant filler scenes like they are filming the climactic scene in an Oscar Award winning movie and react to those scenes being posted publicly by onlookers by curling up into the fetal position in a corner and wetting themselves while crying, the writers and producers of Arrow seem to accept and, at times, revel in the fact the public comes to see their big scenes. On this particular spoiler riddled scene, which aired in last weeks episode 318 "Public Enemy", Paul Blackthorne as Captain Quentin Lance was shooting a scene with Colton Haynes, but instead of being dressed as Roy Harper or Arsenal, he was dressed as.... The Arrow. Of course, knowing now what the scene was for, it makes sense. But at the time, seeing this scene shot, everyone was pretty much standing around going "what the fuck is going on?". i'll admit, not having of course seen the episodes that would lead up to this scene yet play out (it was filmed BEFORE the arc of Captain Lance hating Team Arrow again) I thought this was some type of "trick" scene that the captain was in on.... but nope, it certainly was not. Arrow is off this week, but returns next Wednesday with a new episode on The CW in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada You can of course see more of my Arrow blog posts of the past HERE. This post contains filming information for Arrow episode 317 "Suicidal Tendencies". IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THIS EPISODE AND DO NOT WANT TO VIEW POTENTIAL SPOILERS, DO NOT CONTINUE READING OR VIEWING THE PHOTOS BELOW. . . . last warning . . Arrow was filming scenes a couple months ago for episode 317 "Suicidal Tendencies" in East Vancouver at a hall they have used several times for several things. This time, the hall was not a hospital, or hall of records, but a wedding hall. As I tweeted back when the shooting happened, the cast were shooting a scene for a wedding, and although my joke that it was Ray & Felicity wedding was met with some anger by overly sensitive Olicity fans, the true happy couple was eventually sleuthed out by the fanbase. David Ramsey and Audrey Marie Anderson as John Diggle & Lyla Michaels were shooting scenes where the couple gets re-married. Of course Dig & Lyla had a few friends at their joyous event of note. Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, Willa Holland as Thea Queen and Colton Haynes as Roy Harper and Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance were also all at the event. Very little of the actual filming could be seen from outside. Only things I can confirm are things that are already known on the internet. It was a Dig & Lyla wedding, and Felicity catches the bouquet. Outside of that, no dialogue was heard, and very little of the scene could even be seen thru the 2 pglass doors, dozens of extras and equipment. Of course, what would a Suicide Squad themeed episode be without a member of Amanda Wallers bunch? A scene was done outside after the reception scene with Dig & Lyla walking to a limo and getting in. Waiting for them on the inside was Michael Rowe as Floyd Lawton, aka - Deadshot. What takes place inside the limo, who knows? Perhaps the SS was playing security detail for the wedding? Or, Lyla or Dig was being called away to a job. Will have to wait till next week to see. This was what I call the "beginning of the end" of the Arrow set being a place where you could go & meet the case easily. There was no less than 20 people throughout the day at the set, and at 1 point, 19 people were there at the same time. Sure enough, it encouraged many of the cast to start sneaking out the back doors when they were on a break instead of coming out the front doors as they did when there was only 5 or 8 of us. This was of course part of what I call a "perfect storm" of circumstances. The 4 big productions in town were all on location that day (Flash, Once Upon A Time & Supernatural along with Arrow), as fans went to the other locations & found them to be either inaccessible, or boring, they all flocked to the Arrow set where they were hearing about how many cast were there & how accessible they were. It was clearly obvious that 1/2 of the people at the Arrow set that day were not even fans of the show, but just wanted to meet "someone famous". I miss the days where there was just 2 or 3, and sometimes just me, at the set. Arrow airs Wednesday nights on The CW in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada. THIS POST CONTAINTS POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 313 OF "ARROW" TITLED "CANARIES". If you have not seen this episode yet, and do not want to know anything prior to viewing it. DO NOT read the article or view the photos. Leave now. . . . last warning . . . It has been QUITE AWHILE since the last time I caught Arrow out shooting anywhere. In fact, the 1st episode of the season, is the last time I have seen them actually filming. I've been to a few sets, but none that were outside. Earlier this month I ran into The CW hit vigilante action show "Arrow" downtown shooting a couple of scenes for episode 313, titled "Canaries". I planned on eventually doing these blogs over the holidays, however...after the shocking finale to episode 309 "The Climb" for the mid-season finale, I felt a need to rush this particular set out fast. A scene was shot on a rooftop of a "bad guy" (some of us at the set nicknamed him "knock off Jesse Pinkman".. if anyone knows the actors name, feel free to let me know so I can properly credit him.) getting chased by 2 men in costumes. Colton Haynes and his stunt guy Curtis Bracconier were dressed as the Roy Harper alias Arsenal, along with ANOTHER masked vigilante..... STEPHEN AMELL and his stunt man Simon Burnett as the Oliver Queen alias ARROW. We all knew that Oliver Queen would some how survive his fall off the mountain top. The bigger question though was....how long would he be "missing"? Some internet sites have suggested the show would be Amellless for up to 4 episodes, while others suggest it will be just 1 episode. Well, unless Roy Harper is hallucinating his mentor running along side him. It appears Arrow is back in Starling City by episode 313 or sooner. After the shooting wrapped. I had a chance to meet Stephen again, and he apologized to the several fans waiting out there for not coming down on his lunch break. He said "my wardrobe had a bit of a spoiler on it..." which instantly made me go home and look at my pics. Only immediate difference I could see is what appears to be 6 spots on his shoulder that are in the shape of an arrow funny enough...but I THINK they are some type of arrows, or arrow heads? In any case.... looks like someone gave Oliver a Christmas present. Of course, the change to his outfit wasn't the big shocker from this. That is OF COURSE the fact that at least in some way shape or form in episode 313, if not sooner, we will see The Arrow back in Starling City. Arrow is currently up for several awards in our year end Best Of TV Awards going on right now. You can vote HERE. Arrow will return from its holiday hiatus January on The CW in the U.S. & CTV in Canada. Arrow films a scene with several cast for the Season 2 Finale episode "Unthinkable" SPOILER INSIDE!5/6/2014 THIS POST MAY CONTAIN NOTABLE SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 223 OF "ARROW" TITLED "UNTHINKABLE". If you have not seen this episode & do not want to read or view any potential spoilers for the episode prior to seeing it. Please DO NOT continue reading this article, or viewing the photos. . . . last warning . . Besides being my favorite Vancouver shot show right now, and POSSIBLY my favorite show on all of TV, Arrow is also 1 of my all time favorites to shoot. Mostly because, you never know what you might see when you go there. The cast & crew for Arrow shot a major fight scene for the finale titled "Unthinkable" in a tunnel under the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge in mid-April. The scene involved them closing down a road to all traffic for about a mile on 1 side (no idea for how far on the other side). Thankfully, foot traffic was still allowed thru. I found the set & after scanning the area with my camera, figured out where the main cast for the scene were generally starting from. There was 2 spoilers I saw that night. The 1st I noticed right away. (and has since been officially posted by Arrow) It seems Nyssa al Ghul is fighting along side "Team Arrow" and it looks like she has a few friends with her. A handful of "League Of Assassins" dressed actors were with Nyssa & Team Arrow members Oliver, Sara & Roy. They got into a fight with the Deathstroke mask wearing Army Slade Wilson has made while bystanders ran around in a panic & cars burned. Katrina Law, Caity Lotz & Colton Haynes joined Stephen Amell for these fight scenes in the tunnel, along with their doubles, who thankfully were easy to tell apart from the cast for the most part. The other spoiler, I didnt notice right away thanks to the ultra grainy pics I took (night time + 500 ft away + $500 camera = grainy pics). I didnt notice it on my small 2 inch camera screen, but when I got home to look at them on my computer, it became quite clear, Roy Harper HAS A MASK ....AND A BOW. It seems clear that Roy has taken the step from angry hoodlum to Team Arrow masked member. Only question is, will he be referred to as Red Arrow, or Arsenal? Also, when/how will he get to this point? After all it was JUST episode 2x20 where Roy was in a RoyRage destructive frame of mind. Can he be turned into someone that the team can trust by its side AND given a weapon in a mere month? Apparently so. But considering the absurd Luarel shooting a bow scene they put out for episode 2x22, I suppose this is more believable than that. This was the Second Time this season I photographed someone in a new mask & didn't know it right away. The angle in the tunnel made it not optimal for actually SEEING any of the fight details. With the exception of when someone would step up on a car, they were too low down to see over top of the cast, crew & equipment surrounding the area. So the only time I could get many shots was at the top of the scene, when they were above my sightlines. Since a lot of people have asked me via emails & on twitter what else I know about the finale. I will simply say this. I do know a few things, some BIG things. But, my policy is, if I do not actually see it myself, I am not going to report it as fact. For that reason the no less than 6 spoilers I am aware of over the final 2 episodes that I didn't see, I wont comment on. So please quit asking. All I will say is, as you would expect from ARROW, its going to be a wild ride. Also a reminder, please feel free to use my photos elsewhere, long as you DO NOT remove the watermarks & credit it back to this post. Arrow airs Wednesday nights on The CW in the U.S. & CTV in Canada. The finale is scheduled for May 14, 2014. |
