So Take note this scene COULD be for episode 809. UPDATED TITLE - This scene WAS IN FACT for 809 Yesterday I caught Arrow filming in a place fans are somewhat familiar with. Arrow had a rare location shoot for their 10th, and final episode of season 8. THEIR FINAL SEASON. This shoot was in Crab Park in Vancouver. Of course, this was more than just any ordinary shoot too. This would officially be the LAST day of filming for the 8th, and final season of the show that would launch an entire universe, known as the Arrowverse, and essentially help launch the superhero genre of shows that now populate so many parts of the TV & streaming world. On this night, I first found the crew back where they were just two nights earlier. In the far corner of Crab Park, a place they had been at other times throughout the past. For this night, they were doing scenes where the recently unveiled Oliver Queen statue is in Star City. As opposed to that nights shoot, there was little to no cast here on this evenings shoot. The only cast i am 100% certain of is Katherine McNamara was there as Mia Smoak shooting scenes. It SEEMS a guy is with her in the scene. It COULD be Ben Lewis as William Clayton, but in the photos I have of the scene, and my vision make me unsure of that. During the evening, I also saw a woman with darker hair, and a dark jacket on set. I am unsure if it is a character, or simply a stand in for Mia. I watched her do enough takes that I felt like they actually were filming scenes of this woman however. But I could not come up with a clear identity if it was. Later they seemed to shoot a scene where Mia & the man stand near the statue, and are looking in its general direction. A bit later, they shot a scene where just Mia seemed to be in the scene, and she walks toward the statue at a hurried pace. Shortly after that, a round of applause went out as crews often do when a cast member wraps. It was the end of the night for Katherine (and if any other cast were there, them too). I made an eager effort to go and try to get near the statue to get a pic of it before they took it down, but they were fast. They had the actual statue removed in mere seconds, and if there was any plates on the bottom piece, they too seemed to be removed by the time I made it in there just a few moments later. As crew were leaving the location I got 1 final autograph ever from someone on an Arrow set, as Katherine McNamara signed for me as she left for the final time. EVERYTHING BELOW HERE IS FOR EPISODE 10. DO NOT CONTINUE IF YOU ARE HERE JUST TO SEE EPISODE 9 PHOTOS, AND DO NOT WANT TO SEE EPISODE 10 PHOTOS OR READ ABOUT IT. After the crew wrapped the statue location, they moved out to the street. This was the scenes I was expecting when I went down there that night. But I got a bit more than I expected. I went there thinking I would see a car leaving or coming into Star City past the "entering/leaving Star City" signs they have used in this location many times. I joked with someone the other day that for a city as large as Star City, they do seem to only have 1 way in & out, as they always use the same road. They first did a scene with a motorbike being ridden by a darker haired woman. It was not an actor, it was a stunt team driver. But her hair would have been done to depict whoever it was supposed to be. So it sort of limits the choices down to very few. At first i thought maybe Dinah Drake? But then after talking with someone, they suggested maybe Thea Queen? In either case, since there was no scene with an actual actor, and the stunt person never had the helmet off in the shoot, its hard to know certainly who it is. After that scene was shot, they did one with a Tesla driving up & down the street a couple times. I didnt know when I was shooting it, and only noticed when I got home & saw it on my computer screen. But if you look closely, the license plate looks futuristic..... so is this a scene for "future Star City"? They did a few takes of this car driving up & down the street, before director James Bamford, and the cast & crew of Arrow officially, WRAPPED (sorry Marc Guggenheim that no one told you when it actually was wrapping). There was 1 constant throughout the two scenes that I guess I sort of didnt really point out, and it is frankly why I titled this whole blog as "major spoiler". They drive by a street sign. That sign reads "Oliver Queen Memorial Drive". Unlike the statue, the signed stayed up for about 5 minutes after they wrapped, so I was able to gee a couple photos of it, before a crew member went across the street, pulled it down and started disassembling it.... and just like that, there was evidence they had even filmed a scene with that sign there. When I have a bit of time, I will work on a wrap up blog post about the entire filming of the show from my first encounter with them during episode 2 of season 1, to this very final night of filming. I also have another set of photos from this episode from 2 nights earlier at the same location for a different scene HERE Arrow season 8 will conclude in January on The CW in the U.S. If you want to see Crisis On Infinite Earths shooting, I have a blog sections specifically for that event HERE For other behind the scene blog posts of Arrow go HERE For Arrow autographs gallery go HERE

THIS BLOG POST IS FOR "ARROW" SEASON 8 EPISODE 10. TITLED "FADEOUT"
If you have not seen the episode, and do not want to see or read possible spoilers about it prior to seeing it, do not continue reading the article or viewing the photos below. . . . last warning . . Yesterday I caught Arrow filming in a place fans are somewhat familiar with. Arrow had a rare location shoot for their 10th, and final episode of season 8. THEIR FINAL SEASON. This shoot was in Crab Park in Vancouver. This is of course a location better know to Olicity fans for this scene.
But on this day, they were filming a little bit further in the park. Closer to the pier that juts out from the shore of the park.
Very little is known to those outside of the set, as it was in a location that was difficult to get a good view on. I know, I spent 2+ hours walking around looking for the best vantage point. I can confirm Juliana Harkavy was there, as she posted an IG Story showing the exact opposite view I had. Outside of that, who knows? All I do know is, there was so many trailers there for cast, I lost track of how many there were. I would say easily 20, possibly 30?... which is A LOT for a film set of any size. James Bamford is directing the episode, which is titled "Fadeout" and he tweeted this, and I can definitely say "I" have never been to a set with so many cast trailers.
I never specifically saw any cast that I could definitely ID, as it was dark, and I was looking from a considerable distance at even the closest of locations I found (I added a photo in from the vantage point that gave me the best look... you can see JUST how far I really had to look).... if you can ID someone from the photos I provide, good on you. I concede I have pretty bad eyes, so maybe theres one you can pick out that I cant... but I doubt it.
The one thing you CAN make out however, is that during the filming there is something under a blanket for much of the evening. During the 4 hours they shot there, about 3 1/2 hours of it, that blanket you see wrapped around something in a couple of the photos was up. But for breif moments throughout the evening, the blanket would be removed for a scene, and we would see that under it was..... a statue of The Green Arrow. The base that it sat on was several feet high itself, so it towered above the cast & crew on hand for the scene. Of course, when they wrapped, it was taken away. So when I went by a bit after that to try and get a closer look. No luck. Sadly, nothing more to report on the set at this time. Like I said, I was filming from far away (approximately 2 football fields away.... might have been the longest shoot I've ever attempted), and it was dark, and really fucking cold where I was standing to shoot it. So, now you can start speculating on WHO was there. When I have a bit of time, I will work on a wrap up blog post about the entire filming of the show from my first encounter with them during episode 2 of season 1, to this very final week of filming. There is more photos (better quality) of the statue from a shoot two nights later in this blog post along with another notable spoiler. Yesterday I caught Arrow filming in a new studio that is literally known as "The Fortress". I hd been there a couple times in the past, but was unaware of why shows were using it so much,as I assumed it was just some business building that they were using for a day. But instead, it is 1 of the new crop of little 1 off studios across the Lower Mainland that has popped up in the past few years. This former bank has the structural integrity to withstand some of the film industries more tougher stunts to pull off, as I was told yesterday while there, they have even crashed a helicopter into the roof of it. On this day, the Arrow cast and crew were using it for scenes for their 1st episode of their last season. Obviously because of the fact everything was shot inside this structure, nothing about the specific scenes is known. But some things are known about who was there. Through out the morning & early afternoon, and late evening (I left for a few hours after lunch break) a variety of cast were seen by myself. Stephen Amell was walking to & from the set in half of his Green Arrow costume, and stopped to meet fans several times throughout the day. I also saw Rick Gonzalez at lunch, and briefly got to meet Katherime McNamara for my first time at a set. But the "I wasnt expecting to see you so soon" moment of the day came as former Arrow star, turned Chicago Med star, now back for quick drop in on Arrow, Colin Donnell. An article had come out just a couple hours before seeing him saying he would be back, and lo & behold there he was. But Tommy Merlyn looked a little different than the one we used to know, sporting a full beard. Oh that reminds me, 1 other thing I saw that I can not quite put my finger on what it means yet is... during lunch 2 stunt men in Green Arrow attire came out, 1 looking like how Oliver did, the other, had a big fake black beard on. make of that what you want. I have theories, but I wont post theories here. We also saw a blond girl go in at one point that seemed to be wearing a mask. The person that was there with me when they went in thought it could be Katie Cassidy, and I was unable to confirm if it was her or not, but you can try to judge for yourself by the pics I added below. That said, I did hear two people for the cast referenced by crew while I was there. Katie Cassidy being one, the other was "Josh" who could be Josh Segarra, as he was also announced as returning in the same article as Colin was mentioned in. When I returned later. Some fans were now there, and they pieced together to us what they had seen while we were gone. The only actors they had seen while we were gone were Stephen again, aaaaaaand John Barrowman? Now I was not there to confirm if what they say tey saw is a fact, but the fan I was talking to was well versed in his Arrowverse knowledge, so I feel confident he was not mistaken. Could the returns for Colin, Josh and others be Crisis On Infinite Earths related? I guess we will have to wait and see. At the end of the evening, we saw 3 cast leave as Andrea Sixtos, Joseph David Jones and Katherine McNamara all left together, and shortly behind them we saw the director of the episode, James Bamford also leave. If you do not want to see or read any potential spoilers prior to seeing the episode please leave now. . . . last warning . . Arrow will be airing episode 414 "Code Of Silence" tomorrow. The episode was directed by the shows stunt co-ordinator James Bamford, for his 2nd go at director this season. Shortly after the show returned from their Winter break I caught them downtown Vancouver shooting scenes for this episode at the historic Vogue Theatre. While the majority of the shooting was indoors throughout the day, there were a couple scenes shot out on the busy Granville Street on a cold January night. Several fans waited in the dingy & dirty alley behind the theatre to see the cast. The only cast member who was willing to meet them that night was Stephen Amell. He took the time to meet with each person there and do photos with & sign autographs before heading back in to film more. While others were seen leaving & arriving, none of them stopped to meet the small crowd of fans. The first scene shot had the big spoiler that I posted a few weeks ago... which of course everyone knows about now since its aired on TV. Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak in a wheelchair. She filmed scenes with Paul Blackthorne as Quentin Lance and Charlotte Ross as Donna Smoak in front of the Vogue, which was apparently the theatre for a "Star City Mayoral Debate" between newcomer Ruve Adams (aka - Ms. Damian Darhk) and Oliver Queen (aka - The Green Arrow) After that scene wrapped, the crew took a while to set up for their next shoot, which took place on the awning of the Vogue. Katie Cassidy and her stunt double dressed up as the Black Canary spent time up on the roof shooting scenes where they watch Janet Kidder as Ruve Adams leave in a towncar, and then after that watched as a supply truck drives off. It appears when shes watching them leave that shes speaking to someone (probably on 1 of the com devices Team Arrow uses often). Arrow airs Wednesday nights on The CW in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada.
