THIS POST MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 314 OF ARROW TITLED "THE RETURN" If you have not seen this episode yet and do not want to read or view any material about the episode, please do not read the article or view the photos below.. . . . last warning . . As you likely saw from my other blog post about episode 314 yesterday, I have more photos of Arrow shooting scenes for "The Return", a couple months ago. If you follow me on twitter, you surely saw when I tweeted about this scene back when it was filmed. The scene has 1 of the many "returns" from this episode in it, as Tommy Merlyn is back in flashbacks. In the scene we see Tommy Merlyn (Colin Donnell) "run into" Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) outside CNRI in 2010. The scene felt like it may have been Tommy asking Laurel out for the 1st time. The body language of the scene felt like Laurel knew of Tommy, but wasn't so familiar with him that she even acknowledged him when he walked by her on the street. Whatever Tommy says, Laurel buys it though it seems...as they leave together. Also on the set this night was a non-Arrow member, 1 of the producers of the upcoming Fifty Shades Of Grey movie, Katies boyfriend Dana Brunetti. Arrow airs Wednesday nights on The CW in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada.

 This blog post contains possible spoilers for episode 313 of Arrow titled "Canaries". If you have not seen this episode yet and do not want to see or view spoilers till then DO NOT continue reading this post or viewing the photos below. . . . last warning . . A few weeks ago, before the Winter break, I caught Arrow shooting some scenes in downtown Vancouver for episode 313 "Canaries". As you may have already seen from my previous blog post, there was some night scenes done on a roof. This is for the scenes done in the daytime with returning Guest Star Peter Stormare as Werner Zytyl (Count Vertigo) and Katie Cassidy (Laurel Lance). The scene starts with Vertigo getting escorted out of a courthouse by an armed U.S. Marshall (if someone knows the actors name, please provide so I can credit him) in Starling City and the media catches him on the steps & he decides to have an impromptu press conference demanding the Arrow show up. Out of no where Laurel Lance barges her way thru the scrum of reporters to get to the side of Vertigo when all of a sudden the Marshal escorting Vertigo snaps & starts shooting at the reporters. Tonight on the mid-season premiere Arrow we see Laurel take her first major steps towards becoming the Black Canary. In this scene Laurel decides that shes had enough of this and goes over & 1 punch KO's the gunman while hes firing all over the place. As all of this is going on, Vertigo takes off, leaving Laurel confused and looking around for him while the shooter is laid out on the pavement in front of her. After this scene was shot, they did a couple short close up scenes of the media scrum, except this time some of them are wearing some really well done Halloween masks. I assume this is what the U.S. Marshall that opens fire was seeing. As I alluded to earlier, I posted a previous blog with another shoot from that same day with different actors. Based on the parts I know of this episode, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that scene is also an hallucination of someone like the Marshall was seeing. But, we will have to wait & see I suppose. Arrow returns January 21, 2015 on The CW in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada.                                       Arrow season 3 is under way in Vancouver, BC, Canada FINALLY! The 1st public shoot (that anyone seems to have known of) was on Friday right in downtown Vancouver as the production took over Terry Fox Plaza at B.C. Place to film scenes that involved Oliver Queen walking along with Laurel Lance The pair did a scene where they are walking from the stadium in the blazing heat we had here, eventually they stop and talk to a 3rd character, alive and seemingly well... Quentin Lance.                                A bit later they did scenes where Laurel talks to Quentin in front of the media. In these scenes, you see Quentin dressed up in a little different Police attire.... as he is now Captain Lance. After those scenes, Paul Blackthorne wrapped his work on those scenes. Short time later Katie Cassidy also wrapped.              This left Stephen Amell there to film scenes that involved another cast member...which I will get to in my next blog post.
I managed to get autographs from all 3 of them at different times. This included a good 15-20 minute chat that Stephen had with those of us that were there. Glad to see he is still cool. Arrow returns this fall on The CW in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada. for their 3rd season starting October 8, 2014. I managed to catch up to the cast a couple times while they were here. First up was at their non-studio studio in South Burnaby that they use for a variety of scenes. On set that day I saw Katrina Law there in her Nyssa al Ghul outfit after she had shot some scenes. Of course, the CW has already promoted this, so this isn't a shocker, or a spoiler for anyone. But was cool at the time to see her. Also there at that time were Paul Blackthorne, Caity Lotz & Katie Cassidy. As they were leaving. Colton Haynes seemed to be starting his shooting day. While I was there I found out quite a few spoilers for the finale, most of which I cant really talk about since I have adopted a policy that I wont post a spoiler if I did not in fact witness it myself. Needless to say though, from what I found out, the final 2 episodes is another action packed roller coaster ride like the last few have been. I will have 1 more finale filled blog soon. The CW vigilante action show ARROW shot scenes for episode 217 "Birds Of Prey" with several cast3/3/2014 THIS BLOG CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 17 OF SEASON 2 Of "ARROW". If you do not want to see/read any spoilers prior to the episode. Please do not read the article or view the photos below. . . . LAST CHANCE . . A very cold early February night, I caught the cast of Arrow filming scenes for episode 17 of season 2, "Birds Of Prey" on Homer Street. Both interior & exterior shoots were done, including scenes in a court room & outside in a courtyard upstairs that I couldnt see in the early part of the day. As night time came, they moved to outside to shoot in the -4C chilly Vancouver air. They did a scene in an alley that I was unable to see because of all the crew huddled around that I THINK consisted of Caity Lotz and Stephen Amell, both in their alter ego attires. Interestingly, as open as Degouw was about letting me photograph her in her mask, Caity was the exact opposite,  The 1st scene was 1 of Oliver walking up to a gaggle of cops, special forces personnel out on the street in front of the "Starling City Courthouse". Paul Blackthorne as Quentin Lance was also in the scene. Because of the terrible vantage point for the scene, I never could see much of what it entailed, just that Oliver is on the phone & walks around a police cruiser. The 2nd scene after that I saw was with 2 ladies that you never expected to probably be sharing a scene. Jessica DeGouw, who I saw earlier in the day in her Huntress uniform & even posed for a photo in her mask had traded it in for a cop uniform. She was forcibly escorting Katie Cassidy (Laurel) at gunpoint out of my view in the scene, pressumably into a police cruiser, or away from the crowd of cops who seemed oblivious to this going on. I also saw Caity Lotz on set this day in her Black Canary mask but she didn't want to be photographed in it, so I didn't....so its going to be a masktravaganza episode it seems. I managed to get autographs on this day from Stephen, Katie, Caity & Jessica. I think that's a season 2 record for people I got on an Arrow set. Arrow is airing new episodes every Wednesday on the CW in the U.S. & CTV in Canada. Birds Of Prey episode is currently scheduled to air March 26th, 2014.  Arrow shot some scenes in East Vancouver 1 evening a couple months ago at Heritage Hall (which has been used by lots of film crews... including Arrow). Arrow is also up for several of our Best Of TV Awards 2013                            This past weekend the cast for the CW action drama hit "Arrow" headed down to San Diego for their 2nd Comic-Con. I managed to catch the entire cast that went either going down, or returning this year. On the way down to the Con I ran into the man that is Slade Wilson, Manu Bennett (1st time ever meeting him) & The Hood, Stephen Amell. Both were in great moods. While Manu was signing for us, the 2 people ahead of him in line asked him "are you famous or something"..... as if people are gonna get autographs from a random person. He politely answered them & posted for a photo with 1 of the graphers & their dog. He even picked up the dog & held him in the photo. Cool guy. Stephen was his typical cool laidback self. He was eager to give credit to his shoes maker when someone asked them about them. They actually looked really cool, and I'm not one to usually get impressed by shoes, or art. He tweeted about them shortly after with a photo of his Arrow themed footwear here https://twitter.com/amellywood/status/358189903256883202 I missed hacker extraordinaire Felicity Smoak ( aka - Emily Bett Rickards) by a couple minutes & got in just in time to seeJohn Diggle (aka- David Ramsey). However, never really interacted with him as I was busy looking for EBR at the time. Added bonus, I also got Celina Jade the day her castmates were headed to Sa On the return, with a larger crowd awaiting them, they were all great again. This time I did run into Emily, and after a weekend of signing everywhere she probably went down there, still signed a few for the people who asked her. Got Colton Haynes later in the evening while 1 of the members of the show "Supernatural" peered over the crowds shoulder to see who we were getting. I also got Katie Cassidy, however, due to her coming in on a very busy flight that had lots of people, not just Arrow cast, never got a chance to take pics of her & her obscenely overpaid NHL boyfriend, Jason Garrison. Stephen returned with his cousing, Robbie Amell, who is filming his new CW show "Tomorrow People" here. The Arrow panel had a sizzle reel which of course confirmed Black Canary will be coming this season. Caity Lotz has started filming her scenes as the super hero, but of course, they filmed scenes for the sizzle reel prior to her coming in with her stunt double, who I have been told by some fans, also did stunt work for Anna Torv on "Fringe". Lots of new baddies are expected for this season. Michael Jai White & Kevin Alejandro have been chosen for recurring roles. Arrow will air on Wednesday nights on The CW this fall starting October 9th.           |
