THIS VIDEO IS OF A SCENE FOR THE SEASON 6 (POSSIBLY SERIES) FINALE OF ONCE UPON A TIME "THE LAST BATTLE". Here is an almost 2 minute video of the cast of Once Upon A time rehearsing a take of a scene where Giles Matthey & Jennifer Morrison eventually get into a sword fight. I was so amused with the how slow and purposeful they went thru each action that I just had to post this. I am sure the final product will go a BIT faster. On hand were Josh Dallas, Ginnifer Goodwin that you see at the start of the video, as well as Colin O/'Donoghue in the video, with other cast off screen during the shoot. The Once Upon A Time season (and possibly series?) Finale of Once Upon A Time will have a 2 hour episode this Sunday on ABC in the U.S. and CTV in Canada. THIS BLOG POST IS FOR EPISODE 601 OF "ONCE UPON A TIME". If you have not seen this episode and do not want to read or view possible spoiler photos from it prior to seeing it, please do not continue reading or viewing the photos below. . . . last warning . . Once Upon A Time shot several scenes in Steveston on their first Steveston location day of Season 6. The day started with a scene in an area of the small little village that they had, to the best of my knowledge, never filmed at prior. Lana Parrilla and Ginnifer Goodwin shot a scene before the rest of the cast arrived for filming. The scene was in the park at the far end of the village earlier in the day before they moved to the regular area of Steveston that they used where the pair were joined by a lot more cast. Josh Dallas, Jennifer Morrison, Colin O'Donoghue, Jared Gilmore, Raphael Sbarge, Hank Harris and Beverley Elliott joined the pair in doing a scene around Grannys Diner. View of the scene was pretty limited, all I can tell you about it is the group (not sure if it was all of them or not) go running up to Grannys led by Jared, as he gets to the edge of the gate of the courtyard outside of Grannys he turns back to the group & yells "Mom" or "Moms" and Jen & Lana arrive, with the rest of the crowd shortly after, they then go into the courtyard at Grannys as a group.                            After this scene, some of the cast wrapped for the day, while others prepared to get ready for more scenes later. Colin, Raphael, Beverley & Hank came over to the large crowd of 100+ people & took photos & signed autographs till they were overwhelmed by the continually more aggressive crowds this show has managed over the past couple years. Once Upon A Time shoots scenes for episode 505 "Dreamcatcher" with several cast - part II10/11/2015 Part 2 (pt 1 is here) of our look at Once Upon A Time in Steveston for episode 505 sees several cast, including Lana Parrilla, Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Dallas, Colin O'Donoghue, Sean Maguire, Emilie de Ravin, Joana Metrass, Liam Garrigan and Jared Gilmore shooting a scene together. The scene has Emilie as Belle coming from 1 direction along Main Street in Storybrooke, while the group of 8, with Colin as Hook, Lana as Regina, Josh & Ginny & Snow & Charming in a front group, while Liam as King Arthur, Joana as Guinivere, Sean as Robin and Jared as Henry trail a few steps behind in a 2nd group. The scene consist of the 8 listening to Belle tell them something about Rumple. Eventually the group all leaves, in small groups, Robin 1st, then Regina and Henry, then Snow & Charming etc, leaving Belle standing there. Between takes, there was some goofing around by some of the cast at times, namely Josh and Colin. Much of the cast spent their breaks just hanging out, sharing laughs with each other. Ive seen this cast be very tight knit over the years, but over the last year it felt like they had maybe split off a bit more into little cliques. But this day, I felt the old cast that all hung out together on set was back. Once Upon A Time shoots scenes for season 5 premiere with several cast members through out the day.8/13/2015 Once Upon A Time season 5 started filming last month. The small village of Steveston in South Richmond was again transformed into Storybrooke for a day of filming for episode 1. The first scene I came across in downtown Steveston for the 1st day of shooting for Once Upon A Time season 5 in the town involved an odd sight. Granny's diner had been transformed into a beer garden. whether this is a temporary situation, or permanent was not yet known. More off, was Gabe Khouth as Sneezy wearing an Emma Swan style red jacket & driving the Sheriffs car. He shows up to what appears to be a ribbon cutting ceremony with several other dwarves in attendance including Faustino DiBauda, Mig Macario and maybe others.. I couldn't see the whole scene from where I was, but there was at least 3 or 4 of the dwarves there. Most notably missing was Lee Arenberg.        After that scene, the production moved 1/2 block down to an intersection. In the intersection they set up a scene with several cast members including Rebecca Mader, Sean Maguire, Lana Parrilla, Josh Dallas, Ginnifer Goodwin, Colin O'Donoghue, Emilie de Ravin and Jared Gilmore. In the scene, we see Lana as Regina Mills marching towards Rebecca and Sean as Zelena and Robin Hood. Regina is flanked by several of the locals, Hook, Mary & Dacid, Belle and Henry all follow her to the middle of the street. It seems that Zelena has robin captive somehow and demands a wand from Regina for the release of Robin. Regina does whats asked of her, and gives Zelana a wand. Robin is then let go & instantly taken in by Regina to their side of the battle. Zelena proudly waves the wand around, attempting perhaps to create magic or a spell? But its appears to be a fake. Zelena realizes it wont work, but before she can react, Regina moves in & puts a cuff around her arm and seemingly stops Zelena dead in her tracks. Once the cast did a couple rehearsals of it, they went back to their trailers & got into wardrobe for the actual filming.                      A little while later, the group returned to film the scene in their full wardrobes for the day. By that point, the crowds swelled well over 150 and at times, over 200 people, as the combination of the 1st shoot of the season and nice weather drew a larger than usual crowd. No surprise with the size of the crowd, none of the main cast came over to meet any fans at all this day. while the main cast is becoming less & less receptive of coming over in the past year or so, its rare that NONE of them do. Guess the absurdly large crowd was just too much for any of them to consider. It was a relatively new camera at the time and I still was learning some of the settings, and apparently had something set on it that was not optimal. In early April, Once Upon A Time wrapped their 4th season. One of their last days of filming was on location in Steveston, which is their often used location for part of downtown Storybrooke. On this day they shot a couple scenes through out the day. starting in the early morning. A scene was shot which had several of the cast members laying on the ground including Jennifer Morrison, Lana Parrilla, Timothy Webber and possibly Sean Maguire from what I could see. There may have been more that were out of view from me. Also in the scene was Jared Gilmore, but he seemed to be standing through it all. What happened in the scene, I don't really know. Out of context, it really didn't make much sense to me, or others watching. Scenes often don't, but some of the time you can piece together what the general idea is...this was not one of those times. After they shot that scene, the actors for the night scenes came out, did a quick read thru/rehearsal for the scene before heading back to their trailers to wait for night fall.        After they wrapped the daytime scene, they took a long break as they waited for the sun to set to shoot night scenes in the middle of downtown Steveston. The night scenes consisted of Sean Maguire, Lana Parrilla, Colin O'Donogue, Jennifer Morrison, Josh Dallas and Ginnifer Goodwin shooting scenes in the middle of the street. The scene appears to have some type of magic involved as the Regina Mills is frozen in the middle of the road, restrained by some unseen force. Robin Hood tries to rescue her, but is sent away by the "force". Eventually Emma comes in with Rumplestiltstins dagger and does her best He-Man impersonation which seemingly releases Regina from the mystery grip, and causes Emma to apparently vanish. Captain Hook looks on while Emma holds the dagger up and seemingly tries to convince her to not do whatever it is shes doing. Off to the side Snow White & Prince Charming stand in shock & horror as they watch all of this take place. With this shoot being their last run in Steveston for the season most of the cast were quite good about coming over at 1 point or another to meet fans & sign autographs. Lana, Jennifer, Colin, Josh and Sean all met with the fans at different times throughout the night. Once Upon A Time is nominated for May Madness, which is going on right now. The 4th season of the hit ABC fantasy drama "Once Upon A Time" has begun filming in and around Vancouver, BC, Canada. Last week I caught the cast & crew out working in Steveston, or as you know it "Storybrooke" for a 2 day shoot. There was several scenes filmed over those 2 days, and I got a LOT of pics, so I am having to divide up things into 5 blog posts on it...yes FIVE. There was just that much stuff. So there will be blog posts on Jennifer Morrison & Colin O'Donoghue working together POSTED HERE. There is a blog post solely on the night shoots POSTED HERE. There will be a blog post on Ginnifer Goodwin & Josh Dallas working together along with a variety of other cast. There will be a blog post solely committed to the 2 Dwarves I saw filming over those days, and anyone that crossed paths with them in the scenes. Finally, there will be a blog post solely on the newest character for season 4, from the hit movie "Frozen" Queen Elisa, played by "Fringe" alum Georgina Haig. After a quick opinion poll on twitter, you guys decided you wanted to this set next, so here it is.    The Prince Charming ( Josh Dallas ) and Snow White ( Ginnifer Goodwin ) scenes that were shot primarily were with the pair, and a new baby (did they use the new parents own baby for the scenes?? I think they may have judging by their reactions to the baby in question for the scene during breaks) walking along with Emma (Jennifer Morrison ) and Henry Mills ( Jared Gilmore ) just before Captain Hook ( Colin O'Donoghue ) comes along to snag some time with Emma. This was the 1st time Josh Dallas and Ginnifer Goodwin were seen on set since the arrival of their own child this past off season. The pair seemed generally good and lots of cast and crew seemed eager to welcome the happy couple to work suggesting it might have been the 1st time many of them had seen the pair on set.                          The next day Josh Dallas filmed some scenes where he goes for a run after Emma and Hook after they see *spoilers...gonna have to wait till my blog on the 2 dwarves*. The pair also shot a night scene with several other cast members that are posted in my night shoot blog. Lets start off with a bit of baby time. The night scenes gave Josh Dallas and Ginnifer Goodwin a chance to shoot scenes with a baby (is it their own baby filling in for the role?). During breaks Ginnifer Goodwin would interact with some of the cast carrying the baby. I nabbed a couple pics of her interacting with Sean Maguire, while holding the baby.          The night shoots were hard to get much out of. The crew was being unreasonable, abusing their "power" (they have little to none...but the Richmond RCMP let them act like they did) so they had the fans actually standing SO FAR AWAY from where they were filming, there was literally nothing at all to be seen of the scene, from any of the angles where they were making everyone stand. Of course, I am not much for just accepting such absurd demands. So I did wander around, till I found a spot that helped me at least see part of the scene for awhile and helped me manage to get some shots of the scene. It was scenes with Marian (Christie Laing) out in Grannys Diners front yard yelling about what a monster Regina ( Lana Parrilla) is to a group of onlookers that included the Evil Queen herself. Robin Hood (Sean Maguire), Roland ( Raphael Alejandro) Captain Hook (Colin O'Donoghue), David & Mary (Josh Dallas and Ginnifer Goodwin ..as well as a baby), Emma (Jennifer Morrison), Henry (Jared Gilmore), Leroy & Walter (Lee Arenberg and Faustino Di Bauda) were all on set for these scenes at various points.                    A later scene saw Regina storm off throught the main street of Storybrooke after the altercation ended. What was the Evil Queens reaction to the verbal attack? Not too sure. The only audio that anyone could pick up was when Marian was yelling. All the scenes in the courtyard were partially or fully blocking most of the cast with crew, equipment and shrubbery. So there was not a lot that you could see at once. The 1st night, no cast came over to meet fans. Much to the chagrin of the couple dozen die hards that waited till 12:30 AM. But Lana Parrilla (on her birthday) did tell them she would be back there tomorrow. Sure enough, next night the majority of those that waited (some did not, because they waited near the barricades where they thought the security people would bring her over to) got to meet Lana when she stood around in front of the set and met with fans before security rushed her off while she was still talking and holding a fans hand.
