If I see you posting most or all the photos, I will have them removed. I caught up with the Once Upon A Time cast and crew in Steveston early last month. As you may have seen in my earlier blog posts on this final shoot in the shows long time home of Steveston, there were other scenes shot throughout the two days they were there. You can find those HERE and HERE You can also see Lana Parrilla give a goodbye speech to the fans HERE In this particular scene we find one of only two characters to be a regular from the start to the end, Lana Parrilla doing a scene with Rebecca Mader to film the very final scene the show would ever film in Steveston that had any cast. The scene saw Regina and Zelena having a chat in Reginas car, before the paid drive off together. There wasnt much to tell from the scene obviously since we were held a couple hundred feet back. After the shoot, both stars came over to a patient & growing crowd of die hard fans at around 9 PM on their final night of on location shooting & met with every single fan there till no one was left. I patiently waited in the area I had used for much of the 7 years to meet cast at the side of Grannys. Once they were done with the fans, they came towards me. Lana came by first, and "hi John" to me as she got close, and calmly signed all the photos I had for her there as she often would. I thanked her for her years here, and wished her luck on whatever project she gets next and she said thanks and got into her transportation vehicle as Rebecca walked towards me. She as well signed what I had for her, making her the last cast member I would get while they were filming in Vancouver. With that, this is a wrap for me too on new photos of the Once Upon A Time set. Perhaps I might sometime down the road do a couple "look back" posts with some old photos, but for now, with the exception of a couple videos from the finale to still post, this is it for me. While there has been more than a few problematic fans over the years that give temporary sour impressions of the fans of the show, for the most part, I found most of you to be good people. While I am thrilled the show is done, I also will miss it. It is the longest show I have ever covered from Pilot (a little look back at that with Jennifer Morrison and Jared Gilmore) to Finale. Once Upon A Time is airing the final season on ABC right now, every Friday night till the series finale on May 18, 2018. If I see you posting most or all the photos, I will have them removed. I caught up with the Once Upon A Time cast and crew in Steveston earlier this month. As I reported in my first blog post on this weeks shoots, I had lost a few photos from those days... but thankfully, not all of them. In this set, we see Rebecca Mader as Zelena interacting with season 7 stars Rose Reynolds and Tiera Skovbye as Alice & Margot in Storybrooke. Why are the two girls from Seattle in Storybrooke? Guess we'll have to wait & see. The scene had the pair come up to Zelena as she was about to get into Reginas car. They then have a lengthy talk (about what? I dont know). During a break, I ran into Rose in the little area that for 7 seasons I obtained a LOT of autographs from, the side of Grannys Diner where the show would pick up & drop off cast over the years. After having failed on no less than 3 previous attempts to get Rose for various reasons, the security team told her I was over there, and she walked over with Tiera and introduced herself and signed my items for me. Tiera then stood there waiting to sign for me, and I had to tell her that I didnt have my items for her, because she does doubler duty in this town and I still had her in my other shows folder for Riverdale. Tiera then told me "shes going to hold this over me forever" as she looked at Rose before the pair left to go back to set. This wouldnt be my last autograph at the Once Upon A Time set, but it was the last cast member I would get for the first time. After filming the scenes, Rose & Tiera went over to meet fans & take photos & sign autographs while Rebecca left to get ready for hers, and the shows final scene in Steveston with the cast of the show ever. I will have a blog post on that in the coming days. Plus video of some of the scenes, including this one. During one of the takes Lana Parrilla showed up to set. She stayed around for one take, then left back to the trailers to get ready for her own scene later that evening.
I could not help but just stare at her jacket. I definitely know I wouldnt be able to pull it off. But the Evil Queen can pretty much get away with whatever she wants. SO MUCH GOLD! I also ran into Emma Swans VW Bug just parked. It was sitting near the productions craft services area. Windows blacked out. That was the closest anyone would get to seeing Emma in Storybrooke that day. Once Upon A Time is airing the final season on ABC right now, every Friday night till the series finale on May 18, 2018. I caught up with the Once Upon A Time cast and crew in Steveston last week. When I have more time this week, there will be more blog posts about this weeks final scenes being shot in Steveston. But till then.... here is the first of the last sets of Once Upon A Time. In this shoot, there was a little mixture of season 1 to 6 recurring cast, along with some season 7 cast. We find a variety of the frequent recurring season 1 to 6 cast outside Granny's Diner in Storybrooke. Raphael Sbarge as Dr. Archie Hopper with Pongo, Beverley Elliott as Granny, Lee Arenberg as Leroy, Faustino Di Bauda as Walter & David Paul Grove as Doc are out there. Eventually we see Leroy step off the curb and a few moments later, he drops a tray of bagged lunches as season 7 cast members Rose Reynolds as Allice / Tilly and Tiera Skovbye as Margot / Robin show up in a food truck and hastily jump out to check and see if Leroy is okay. He replies with a line about how his lunches arent as he angrily yells at the two young girls. A little while later, after some lengthy dialogue, we see the girls shriek and run away around the side of the truck, as the dwarves all chase them around the truck. After filming that scene, some of the cast joined Rebecca Mader and Lana Parrilla outside the shell of the Mr. Golds shop they put up for filming since the original Mr. Golds refused to allow them to use it anymore a couple years ago (but still likes cashing in on the tourism of it by using a Mr. Gold stand up poster outside it....sleazy) with the Mayor of Richmond, and a few others to officially call it "Once Upon A Time Day" in Richmond. Lana gave a wave to the fans before leaving, telling them she would be back later.... which she absolutely was (if you havent seen the thank you video I posted earlier... that was from later on in this day, you can see it HERE). Unfortunately, I lost an entire days worth of shots, as well as a handful of photos on this day. But I still have photos, so I still have some posts to do..... as well, there will be a couple video clips coming up too But here is the first set of photos form the finale shoot of Once Upon A Time. I caught up with the Once Upon A Time cast and crew in downtown Vancouver just a couple3 days after the crew had learned the show was not coming back for another season. As you can expect, some of the crew were still fresh in the disappointment. On set this day, I caught Rose Reynolds (Alice/Tilly), who in a random anomaly has been at every set I have been to for OUAT ins eason 7. This time she was doing a scene with newcomer to the show Tiera Skovbye (better known as Polly from "Riverdale"). While I dont know much of her character outside of the fact it is a daughter to "Kelly" (played by Rebecca Mader), i Was told by a couple of fans at the set that these two are apparently a couple on the show. It certainly seemed that assumption was a reasonable one as the two walked down the street together with candy apples (I mistakenly thought they were ice cream cones at first when I tweeted about it). I got there in time to see them do this scene 2 or 3 times, before they wrapped and move inside for the rest of the day where the paid shot more scenes. Once Upon A Time season 7 does some filming with Robert Carlyle and Rose Reynolds in Vancouver9/24/2017 THIS POST CONTAINS POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR "ONCE UPON A TIME" SEASON 7. IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THIS EPISODE YET, AND DO NOT WANT TO SEE OR READ POSSIBLE SPOILERS, DO NOT CONTINUE READING THE ARTICLE BELOW OR VIEWING THE PHOTOS AT THE BOTTOM. . . . last warning . . What an off season it was for Once Upon A Time. Never in my history of covering shows has so much happened to one show in the casting department. Gone as regulars are the shows longtime cast of Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison, Josh Dallas, Jared Gilmore, Emilie de Ravin & Rebecca Mader. Coming in to fill all those holes? Andrew J West, Danai Ramirez, Gabrielle Anwar, Adelaide Kane, Rose Reynolds & maybe a few others? With only regulars Colin O'Donoghue, Lana Parrilla and Robert Carlyle holding together the shows past with its present, it has been on them to keep the dwindling fandom interested in coming back for the re-invention of the series that sees them move from a fictional town in Maine, to a fictional region of a real city in Washington State. I caught up with OUAT filming a scene for 1 of the earlier episodes a couple months ago in a niehgbourhood of Vancouver I used to live in. Earlier in the day they had a much more public shoot about a 5 minute drive from where I found them that had many more fans at it than the locale I was at where I was the ONLY person in attendance. On set this day was Robert Carlyle, as his new persona, which if you are to believe the fandom, is a detective by the name Mr. Weaver (I was unable to confirm his job, but his name IS confirmed.... this is just what I have been told from multiple sources. No official statement has stated this yet.). Gone is the old fancy suits of Mr. Gold and the scaly golden skin of Rumplestiltskin, now Bobby finds himself playing a character dressed in more casual attire, on this day, dressed in jeans & dark camouflage jacket. He was doing a scene with show newcomer, Rose Reynolds. While we have heard tidbits about the returning cast, we have heard little about the new cast. Reynolds is believed to be playing two characters, Alice, inspired by the Alice In Wonderland stories. As well as Tilly, who it is believed is in reference to 1 of Alices sisters. On this day, the scene they shot had Bobby walking across a quiet street in Hyperion Heights, the new fictional area they are all in thats supposedly part of Seattle. various extras were dressed like they were going to a costume party. Bobby comes up on a pair in the middle of the street, stops them by tapping 1 on the shoulder, when they turn around, a small interaction happens, before Bobby grabs the mask of the 1 actor and snaps it back at his face, before cutting between them & walking towards his final objective. He gets to a large weird looking art structure that looks somewhat like a tree, but is shaped like a creature with eyes, a mouth and hands. In the tree/artwork, we find Roses character casually playing with a rubix cube thats missing most of its coloured squares. The pair talk for a few moments, Rose then tosses the rubix cube to Bobby before she leaps up and states shes now "10 feet tall" in a very childish, almost juvenile tone. A bit more conversation goes on, before she hops out of the tree/artwork and down onto the ground where they talk more, before Rose grabs Bobbys hand and tels him to come with her as she starts to run away. Bobby casually lets go of her hand as she runs & skips up the street away from him while he casually walks in the same direction. They did this scene for a couple hours before I finally left. I dont know if there was anything different shot after their lunch break. THIS POST CONTAINS POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR THE SEASON 6 FINALE OF ONCE UPON A TIME "THE FINAL BATTLE". If you have not seen this episode and do not want to see or read any potential spoilers prior to viewing the episode, do not continue on with this article & bookmark it to view after. . . . last warning . . . Once Upon A Time shot scenes for their season 6 finale "The Final Battle", and depending how things go, possibly the series finale, in Steveston at the end of March. Much of the main cast was there during the multiple day shoot. The only notable exceptions being Robert Carlyle and Emilie de Ravin. This blog post will focus on the shoot they did on the 29th, which focused on Jennifer Morrison and Jared Gilmore., as well as a scene a bit later that you may have seen my youtube video of, with Colin O'Donoghue and Jennifer Morrison doing a driving scene. There was also a night scene with the majority of the cast, including those named earlier, as well as Lana Parrilla, Rebecca Mader, Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Dallas amd Giles Matthey, but there was little to shoot that night (a blog with more info on this shoot will come later). The Once Upon A Time season (and possibly series?) Finale of Once Upon A Time will have a 2 hour episode this Sunday on ABC in the U.S. and CTV in Canada. If you do not want to see or read any potential spoilers before seeing the episode, do not continue reading or viewing this post. . . . last warning . . Once Upon A Time shot scenes for 1 of their final episodes of the season, episode 621, in Steveston in March with Robert Carlyle, Jared Gilmore, Jaime Murray, Beverley Elliott, Raphael Sbarge & Lee Arenberg on set during the day. An early scene saw Jared Gilmore, the co-Best Youth Actor Winner in the Best Of TV Awards this year as Henry Mills walking down the middle of Main Street (Moncton Street in Steveston) in Storybrooke with his story book, and no one seems to be around. Later scenes saw Beverley Elliott as Granny, Lee Arenberg as Leroy and Raphael Sbarge Dr. Hopper also on set, along with Jaime Murray as the Black Fairy & Robert Carlyle as Mr. Gold. The most interesting thing of the day, at some point Henry ends up so seriously injured, that he is being taken into an ambulance with a neckbrace on, and the Black Fairy is carrying the story book. I guess thats what you get for walking down the middle of Main Street. Later in the day, a scene was shot with Gold & Black Fairy sitting in Reginas car talking. She shows him a file on something, and he then gets out of the car and leaves, with a worried look on his face. Near the end of the day one of the shows creators, Adam Horowitz was on set talking with Robert Carlyle for a while on two separate occasions. At the end of the second talk, Robert gave him a hug, and left Adam as he went inside the actors holding area. Lots of people were assuming it was a talk about either trying to sign Robert back up, or a good bye chat. Neither of these cases can anyone confirm, since they were not in the talk, and anyone claiming to know otherwise, not named Robert carlyle or Adam Horowitz, is full of it.
