THIS POST CONTAINS POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR "ONCE UPON A TIME" EPISODE 619. If you have not seen this episode & want to avoid possible spoilers form it, do not continue reading the article or viewing the photos below . . . last warning . . Once Upon A Time shot 4 scenes in Steveston on Tuesday. One of them for episode 619, directed by BAFTA award winning director Alrick Riley, consisted of 3 cast, with the majority of focus on two... even though it was the other cast member that's going to generate the most buzz probably. This is the 2nd of the 3 blog posts I am doing on this day shooting. The first HERE with Colin O'Donoghue for episode 620, and this one HERE (still not posted, will link when completed) with Lana Parrilla and Jaime Murray for 619. I think I should apologize to Rumbelle fans from the get go, because I know I haven't had anything for them in quite a long time, and finally I get some shots for them and wellllllll, this post is probably going to be upstaged by something. Robert Carlyle & Emilie de Ravin filmed most of this scene outside Mr. Golds. The scene sees Gold come out first, clearly annoyed/angry with something and he makes a waving motion as if hes casting something away. Belle follows outside to confront him & the two have a talk that starts off with them clearly not in a good mood, but eventually the pair calm down, hold hands, before they are interrupted by Jennifer Morrison as Emma Swan calling them back inside Golds shop. All three cast seemed in pretty good spirits on the set. Frequently Robert & Emilie were together going over lines in or around the door way of the fake storefront. I feel like there is something else I was supposed to mention. What was that again? I cant seem to put my finger on it. Wait, hold on, I think I am remembeRING. They did several takes of this scene with Emma in it, but for the most part it was a ho hum scene to me. That was till I saw tumblr & twitter chatter after the fact inquiring about Emmas wardrobe change. I then had to go thru all my photos to take a look... For ONE (maybe two?) takes there was a change in the stuff Emma Swan was wearing. It seems her outfit is slightly heavier now.... she was wearing an engagement ring for at least 1 of the takes. Now why she wasnt wearing it for the other takes is probably 1 of a few reasons. Most likely, depending what the camera angles were, it wasnt needed for the earlier takes. Same reason sometimes you see characters wearing their boots for a scene instead of the fancy shoes you might see in the scene when it airs, because for that set of takes, they werent going to be on camera.... so they didnt need to wear them. Probably the case with this ring as well, since earlier takes she definitely didnt have it on. Anyways... heres the only pics I got of it.... had I known of course that this was a thing, I would have tried getting closer up shots. As it is, I took these shots of the 3 actors grouped together, so I had to crop in tighter than I thought I would be when I shot these frames. Eventually Jennifer wrapped her scene. A little while later Robert & Emilie wrapped theirs after shooting the conversation part of the scene a few more times. Robert & Emilie then came over & met with the fans, and spent a substantial amount of time doing so. In fact the next scene, with Colin O'Donoghue had already started doing rehearsals behind them by the time Emilie was done with her part of the meet & greet. You can catch Once Upon A Time on Sunday nights on ABC in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada. You can see my other behind the scene OUAT blogs from the past HERE and my autograph gallery HERE

THIS POST CONTAINS PHOTOS & SCENE DESCRIPTION FOR EPISODE 517 "Her Handsome Hero" OF "ONCE UPON A TIME". If you do not want to read or view photos of this episode prior to seeing it, do not continue reading or viewing the photos. . . . last warning . . Once Upon A Time filmed in Steveston in mid-January for episode 517 "Her Handsome Hero" most of the day. In the day they shot a scene with Robert Carlyle (Mr. Gold/Rumplestiltskin), Emilie de Ravin (Belle French) and newcomer Wes Brown (Gaston). In the scene Belle rushes out of Mr. Golds shop, annoyed & angry at something. Gold chases after her before he is distracted by an arrow (no arrow shot on set) whizzing by him. Belle and Gold look across the street to see Gaston (previously portrayed by Sage Brocklebank, now by Wes Brown) staring back at them. Gaston takes another shot at Gold, to no avail as Gold grabs the arrow out of mid air and then proceeds to move towards Gaston, talking about the arrow. Gold is angered and goes to use magic against his attacker when Belle steps in and stops it. The scene ended, and the crew moved on to set up the next scene as the cast left for the day. There is another blog post with scenes from this days shoot with Colin O'Donoghue and Jennifer Morrison during a night scene. You will be able to find it in my OUAT Blog section here. You can also view past blog posts there. Once Upon A Time airs Sunday nights on ABC in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada. this episode will air April 10, 2016. In the mid-season finale for the ABC fantasy drama Once Upon A Time, we saw a massive shocker, Rumplestiltskin kills himself along with his father aka - Peter Pan, to save the people of Storybrooke from Pans curse. What this means for the character Robert Carlyle portrays is still uncertain. I suspect he'll be back after a few episodes away (not insider knowledge, just my personal feeling), but for now it is RIP Mr. Gold/Rumple. At the time they filmed the scene in which he stabs Peter Pan thru the back & in turn himself too, I didnt know he was killing himself along with Pan, I just saw him shove the knife into Pan (aka - Robbie Kay ) and assumed he was killing him. I got to the set late on this day, and missed the earlier scenes with Regina out in the middle of the street. By the time I got there, they were filming the scene below from the angle of just the left side of the group as it was just Michael Raymond-James as Baelfire & Emilie de Ravin as Belle who were also on set with Robert & Robbie. Something that has been an issue in season 3 has been how unpleasant the rude & unprofessional new security team has been. Instead of the old team they had, who although at times frustrated some regulars, would at least reason with the regulars & minimize the efforts some of us would go to to take shots. This new team (btw- they got FIVE guys to do the job that 2 were doing last year....and not very well lol) thinks heavy handed aggressiveness will work...well, it doesnt, all it does is drive us to be more creative in doing what we do.... for example, I stood 2 blocks away to get photos they didnt want me getting from the other side of the set (which had a LOT more stuff in the way & it would have been in their best interests to just let people shoot from there.....then maybe the plethora of spoiler pics some posted on twitter earlier wouldnt have come up so much). But they will learn eventually....or maybe they wont? In either case, people will get their shots, they just might be more creative in making it happen. Because of my position (2 blocks away) you can see some of my photos are pretty grainy & I am sorry if you feel disappointed in these FREE photos I offer you. For those appreciative of whatever is offered, here it, photos from my vantage point of Pan & Rumple meeting their fates. Once Upon A Time season 3 has gone on their Winter Hiatus & returns March 9, 2014 (later than usual in an effort to avoid competing with the Olympics) on ABC. This past weekend the cast for the ABC fantasy hit "Once Upon A Time" headed down to San Diego for their 3rd Comic-Con.
I managed to catch the cast either going down, or returning this year. While I was glad to see Robert Carlyle was back to being the happy to see us Bobby I remember from season 1 (he had soured a lot in S2 & I was afraid what S3 might bring) I was quite displeased to see the already unfriendly Emilie deRavin, who at least in the past would begrudgingly stop to sign if you could catch up to her speed walking self, now just outright refuses, even when she has to wait 45 seconds for her driver. The rest of the cast was great going to & returning from Comic-Con. The casts super-couple Josh Dallas & Ginnifer Goodwin chatted with us & other fans going there & returning. Jennifer Morrison donned her trademark ball cap pulled down low to avoid being seen, but still happily signed & chatted when she was recognized. We caught Lana Parrilla heading down to SDCC, but missed her returning. While we managed to get both Colin O'Donoghue & Michael Raymond-James going to & returning. Most of the cast told us how they loved doing these events, but one who I wont name, did state that they were not too pleased to be doing it, it isn't their thing, but is doing it because its expected. I admire that honesty, because you know theres dozens of others that were sent to San Diego to promote things that also didnt want to, but lie & say "oh yeah, I love doing that". Another person we saw coming in while we were there, but didnt know at the time who it was, Meta Golding (who will be in the next Hunger Games Movie) who is believed to be a newcomer to the cast, I have yet to learn what role she is getting. If anyone knows, please feel free to update me. Here are the photos of the cast interacting with the fans as they depart & return from the SDCC this past weekend. . . . . last warning . . Late last week I made the trek out to Steveston to catch some filming of the ABC hit "Once Upon A Time" as they were working on the season finale right now. When I got there, I found them not in downtown Steveston as I assumed they would be, but out at Garry Point Park, a couple blocks west of there. Cleverly wedged in amongst a pile of trees in a little garden, they filmed a couple scenes there, including the 1 I managed to get a few pics of. In this particular scene I saw Henry (Jared Gilmore) playing on a rope while Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle) watched. Off camera Emma (Jennifer Morrison ), David (Josh Dallas) & Mary (Ginnifer Goodwin) waited for their cues. Because of the conveniently placed garden rocks & trees, you lose the group for a few seconds, before eventually catching Emma & Henry talking infront of a rock, leading to Henry tightly hugging Emma in what appeared to be a very saddening moment as both characters showed sadness on their faces. Also in the scene was Beverly Elliot...somewhere. I never saw her in the scene, but heard them calling out her cue. I saw at the set, so I know she was there, just didnt see her in the scene. During the day, several of the stars met with fans, including Jared Gilmore, Josh Dallas, Robert Carlyle & Beverly Elliott. As well Ginnifer Goodwin & Josh Dallas stopped for a couple fans during a short break at the food tent, despite being needed back at set immediately. Once Upon A Time wraps season 2 production April 6th. NOTE - I know recently some OUAT fan sites & tumblr boards have been aggressively attacked with threats of legal action from a new photographer about using his photos without his permission & some of you are probably gunshy about ever doing it again. You may use these photos, as with ALL my photos on TWO CONDITIONS. 1- Dont remove the watermarks. 2- give credit, by sourcing this blog post, or my twitter profile http://twitter.com/canadagraphs as the source. 3- if you want them untagged, I do sell them without marks. Be advised, many of the photos have been cropped in to show just the material that is relevant. THIS BLOG IS ABOUT FILMING FOR EPISODE 219 OF "ONCE UPON A TIME" The post containts photos of filming, as well as scene description & speculation.
IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW/SEE ANYTHING PRIOR TO THE EPISODE AIRING.... DO NOT CONTINUE READING OR VIEWING THE PHOTOS! . . . Last warning . . Last week I made the trek out to Steveston to see the ABC hit fantasy show"Once Upon A Time" do a bit of filming. Since the last time I saw them, in downtown Vancouver a month or so ago, some big reveals have happened...mainly that Neal/Baelfire is Henry's father, and that Rumplestiltskin/Mr.Gold is his father, making Henry's Golds grandson.... and you thought YOUR family had issues. This particular day I saw 2 scenes being shot. The 1st had Robert Carlyle (Gold) & Lana Parrilla (Regina) walking along a path thru a fence in the background as Jared Gilmore (Henry) had a little play battle with wooden swords with his newfound dad Michael Raymond-James (Neal). So it looks like the Gold-Cassidy-Swan-Mills family is seemingly doing fine... although, no Emma hanging around during the boys playtime. Is there a rift between her & Henry after he found out she lied to him? Or is this simply some father/son bonding time as his grandpa & adopted mom chat in the background? Only time will tell. There was a lot of playing around leading up to the scene, which was shot in 3 or 4 parts. In a couple takes Jared clipped Michael on his hand with the wooden swords hard enough that he went running away shaking off the hit. Later in the day, they moved over to a pier, where they did a scene with Lana Parrilla & Jennifer Morrison (Emma) sitting on a bench, as Emma was holding the fairytale book of Henry's. I also took a few photos of the prop carps & signs, most notably for me, the 1983 computer ad on a bus stop. A left over from when they filmed the flashback episode that is coming up soon...or were they doing another flashback scene in this episode? So here is the photos from that day. Enjoy. This episode will be #19 of season 2. THIS BLOG CONTAINS POSSIBLE SPOILER DESCRIPTIONS & PHOTOS FOR ONCE UPON A TIME SEASON 2 EPISODE 14. Please DO NOT continue reading or viewing photos if you dont want to be spoiled.
. . . Last warning . . Last week I was given a heads up by someone about a OUAT shoot in Gastown. By the time I got there, they had moved from the street to inside a bar. I caught the Once Upon A Time crew out filming in the tourist trap neighbourhood of downtown Vancouver. This was the FIRST TIME since the pilot I had found them downtown, and only the 2nd time since the pilot they had been down here. Last time they filmed downtown I was out of town & it involved scenes with Jennifer Morrison, Michael Raymond James & Eion Bailey doing flashback scenes on the backstory of Emma Swan. So what were they doing in the big downtown core of Vancouver this time? More flashback scenes???Well... NO. These scenes were clearly current day scenes...and you will see why as you read on. The 1st night I found them filming in the popular Blarney stone Pub. Scenes seemed to only involve two actors, Michael Raymond-James & Jennifer Morrison chatting in a bar in the SoHo district of New York City. The scene was practically impossible to see any of except for a very small slivver of window that wasnt covered with black drapes. From there, all you could see was Michael, and if you angled your head the right way, for a breif moment, Jennifer would be partially in view. Not a lot to see there...and this, I didnt take many shots. The next day, they filmed out on the street. I missed a scene earlier where Jennifer Morrison & Michael Raymond James did a chase scene that ended with 1 of them tackling the other in an alley. When I arrived they had moved that same scene back a bit and were prepping things to shoot the chase scene that would lead to the alley tackle. Jennifer Morrison & a stunt man in place of Michael Raymond James did a scene where they ran thru New York City traffic. The big SPOILER came after that when they moved further up the street to where this scene would start. That is when I saw a most unlikely combo of people step out of a New York City Cab together. As the cab showed up, the 1st take I noticed Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) & Henry Mills (Jared Gilmore) get out of a cab with a 3rd person.... it wasnt till I look at the photos after the take & realized the 3rd person was...... MR. GOLD (Robert Carlyle). This is a pretty large spoiler (in my opinion) on a couple fronts. 1- Emma and Gold working together? 2- Gold is out of Storybrooke. The scene had the 3 of them get out of the cab together, look up at a building then proceed to the building before Emma stops and notices someone jumping off a fire escape & start running away (the start of the chase scene). While many people saw the scenes in the alley & of Emma running thru traffic, very few stayed around for the largest reveal scene of the day with Mr. Gold being out of Storybrooke. |
