THIS VIDEO IS OF A SCENE FOR THE SEASON 6 (POSSIBLY SERIES) FINALE OF ONCE UPON A TIME "THE LAST BATTLE". If you have not seen this episode and do not want to possibly see any spoilers from it.... do not continue watching or reading the post below till you have. . . . last warning . . . Here is an almost 2 minute video of the cast of Once Upon A time rehearsing a take of a scene where Giles Matthey & Jennifer Morrison eventually get into a sword fight. I was so amused with the how slow and purposeful they went thru each action that I just had to post this. I am sure the final product will go a BIT faster. On hand were Josh Dallas, Ginnifer Goodwin that you see at the start of the video, as well as Colin O/'Donoghue in the video, with other cast off screen during the shoot. The Once Upon A Time season (and possibly series?) Finale of Once Upon A Time will have a 2 hour episode this Sunday on ABC in the U.S. and CTV in Canada. THIS IS A BLOG POST FOR "ONCE UPON A TIME" EPISODE 612 "Murder Most Foul". If you have not yet seen this episode, and dont want to see or read possible spoilers, do not continue reading or viewing the photos below. . . . last warning . . Let me first off say, before I get into describing this days scenes in this post. I. DO. NOT. WRITE. THE. SHOW. So dont feel compelled to complain to ME if what you read is to your disliking as I know 1 particular subsection of the fandom is going to feel angry, and another overjoyed at what transpired. I am also going to say, dont whine to the writers. They have a vision for the show. If you dont agree with it, you can either quit watching, or watch it later elsewhere and fast forward the parts you hate. In any case, remember.... I dont write it, I dont pick & choose which scenes they opt to film in public, so I have NO CONTROL over the material I covered on this day. Just the last 5-6-7- times I've posted stuff with a particular actor in it, I get attacked by a specific group for "favoring" that actor. I dont pick who shoots what scenes. Once Upon A Time found themselves in their most commonly used location spot, Steveston, for a shoot in early November for scenes for episode 612 "Murder Most Foul" directed by Morgan Beggs. This particular day they shot 3 scenes around the village. Two on their main drag of Moncton Street, another up on the docks. In the early scene we see Joshua Dallas as David/Prince Charming and Colin O'Donoghue as Captain Hook walking through Storybrooke together at a hurried pace. What very few who went to the early shoot GOT to see was the end of the scene where Charming handcuffs Captain Hook to a bike rack. WHY does he do it? Well, thats something you'll have to tune in to the episode to find out, because I certainly couldnt hear the conversation. That scene was a pretty quick shoot, and eventually the pair left the set while the next group of actors came for the middle scene of the day, which I will cover in another blog post that will be linked HERE when it is finally done in a couple days. Once it got dark out, the crew moved to the walkway at the docks of Steveston for a night scene that will have the fandom reacting 1 way or another, depending what your loyalties are to the show. The scene had 3 cast. Josh Dallas again. Colin O'Donoghue again. There was also an actor on set that so far no one has commented on anywhere, so let me be the first to welcome former Medium star David Cubitt to the Once world, as he was portraying the part of Robert Charming, who as I am lead to believe, is a ghost in this scene. The scene starts with the elder Charming & the younger Charming staring over the ledge of the pier, Robert puts his arm on David and says some words to him. Eventually Robert leaves, only moments later to be replaced by Captain Hook. The same Hook that David handcuffed a bit earlier in the day. So what revenge does he have in store for David? Well, none, technically. You see, Hook was there to talk to David about something I can already hear the fandom squeeing &/or gritting their teeth at all at the same time, he asks David if he has his permission to ask Emma to marry him. Yes, you read that right Oncers. But what will Emmas father, and the man who handcuffed him to a bike rack earlier in the day say? Well, he says "Yes, of course", before the pair walk away together. I guess the question now is..... what will Emma say? That I am sure will be done in studio.... especially after this post is posted I am guessing. or maybe they already filmed it before this days shoot since filming is not done in chronological order, so a scene from 1 day could absolutely end up 40 minutes in the episode later than a scene shot 3 days prior. Once Upon A Time airs on Sundays on ABC in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada & will return for their Spring season March 5, 2016. If you have not seen this episode and do not want to read or view possible spoiler photos from it prior to seeing it, please do not continue reading or viewing the photos below. . . . last warning . . Once Upon A Time shot several scenes in Steveston on their first Steveston location day of Season 6. The day started with a scene in an area of the small little village that they had, to the best of my knowledge, never filmed at prior. Lana Parrilla and Ginnifer Goodwin shot a scene before the rest of the cast arrived for filming. The scene was in the park at the far end of the village earlier in the day before they moved to the regular area of Steveston that they used where the pair were joined by a lot more cast. Josh Dallas, Jennifer Morrison, Colin O'Donoghue, Jared Gilmore, Raphael Sbarge, Hank Harris and Beverley Elliott joined the pair in doing a scene around Grannys Diner. View of the scene was pretty limited, all I can tell you about it is the group (not sure if it was all of them or not) go running up to Grannys led by Jared, as he gets to the edge of the gate of the courtyard outside of Grannys he turns back to the group & yells "Mom" or "Moms" and Jen & Lana arrive, with the rest of the crowd shortly after, they then go into the courtyard at Grannys as a group. After this scene, some of the cast wrapped for the day, while others prepared to get ready for more scenes later. Colin, Raphael, Beverley & Hank came over to the large crowd of 100+ people & took photos & signed autographs till they were overwhelmed by the continually more aggressive crowds this show has managed over the past couple years. Below are some solo photos of the cast during this part of the days shooting. To see my past OUAT blog posts, including for this episode check my Once Upon A Time Blog section. Once Upon A Time season 6 will begin September 25 , 2016 on ABC in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada. THIS POST MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 523 OF "ONCE UPON A TIME". Do not continue reading or viewing the photos or article if you do not want to see/know anything about the episode prior to viewing it and have not yet seen the episode. . . . last warning . . Once Upon A Time filmed a scene for the season 5 finale at the Vancouver Art Gallery that included a large chunk of the main cast & a couple guest stars. Jennifer Morrison, Lana Parrilla, Robert Carlyle, Jared Gilmore and Olivia Steele-Falconer were already on set as you may have read in my prior post here. Joining them for this last scene of the day Josh Dallas as Prince Charming, Ginnifer Goodwin as Snow White, Colin O'Donoghue as Captain Hook, Rebecca Mader as Zelena and Hank Harris as Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hyde (unconfirmed yet... but my sources state thats his character). The scene, seemingly was a continuation of the earlier scene they shot that had the earlier cast standing staring into a fountain with a group of other people in new York City when suddenly out of nowhere, the 2nd group appears. The last we had seen of this group (minus Dr. Jekyl) they were being sucked through a magical door in the middle of downtown Storybrooke. How did they end up popping up in a fountain in New York city? More blogs for the finale coming, still have 2 to do from their last Steveston day of the season coming up this weekend. Once Upon A Time will air this 2 hour season finale on Sunday May 15, 2016 on ABC in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada. You can find the rest of my blogs about this episode, as well as previous episode blogs HERE THIS POST CONTAINS POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 522 OF "ONCE UPON A TIME". If you have not seen this episode yet, and do not want to read or view any potential spoilers prior to seeing it, DO NOT continue reading this article or viewing the photos. . . . last warning . . Once Upon A Time filmed scenes for an upcoming episode in Steveston back in March with several cast on hand. In the daytime, they shot a variety of scenes that at the end of the shoot left those watching wondering VERY MUCH if they had just seen a lead up to how season 6 might start. The scene they shot had a variety of characters and guest actors like Jason Burkhart (Little John), Amy Manson (Merida) and Raphael Alejandro (Roland) talking to a group of Storybrooke residents, including Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow White), Josh Dallas (Prince Charming), Colin O'Donoghue (Captain Hook), Rebecca Mader (Zelena) and Beverley Elliott (Granny). It was pretty hard to hear any of the dialogue from the scene, but it was clear that the group were meeting up with the Storybrooke group to say some last good byes. They then shot a scene where Zelena opens a door that magically appears in the middle of the street and all the non-Storybrooke characters go thru. It starts with Merida going thru, she says her good byes to Charming & Snow then walks thru. It ends with Little John and Roland, who it seems is now in the care of the big sidekick of Robin Hood, just before they go thru Zelena has a talk with Roland, and I am sure we all know (assuming you are caught up on your spoilers) what that talk probably will be about. As Roland leaves, he waves good bye to Storybrooke as well as as Snow and Charming before going thru the door with Little John. Once thru the door, Zelena tries to close the door....but of course, this is Once Upon A Time, so it doesn't go as planned, and the group get sucked in thru the door. Video of 1 of the takes has been added below. As well, shots of a night scene (not many) with Colin & Jennifer Morrison will be posted later in a different blog post HERE. Once Upon A Time airs Sunday nights on ABC in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada. This episode will be part of the 2 hour season finale. Once Upon A Time shoots scenes for their 100th episode in Steveston in November with lots of cast.3/5/2016 The 100th episode of Once Upon A Time airs this weekend on Sunday. The cast & crew were busy working on the episode back in November in Steveston. The episode titled "Souls Of The Departed" will be the 12th episode of the 5th season of the hit fantasy show. Directed by veteran OUAT director Ralph Hemecker, the 100th episode will see many returning faces to the show that fans will know like Michael Raymond James & Robbie Kay. Unfortunately... on this day of filming, none of them seemed to be around. With this part of the season taking part in the "underworld" things looked a bit different in Storybrooke (aka - Steveston). Large orange smoke stacks were along the street every 100 feet or so, and many of the identifiable parts of Storybrooke like Mr. Golds, the Library clock tower and even Emmas Bug seem to have fallen on hard times there. The first scene they shot on the day had Robert Carlyle going to Mr. Golds shop. It didnt last long, and didnt really reveal much of anything. Shortly after, they filmed a scene with Sean Maguire as Robin Hood and Lana Parrilla as Regina Mills walking together thru the streets of this slightly different looking Storybrooke. they are stopped, or stop to talk to a man that I was told by a production person had the character name "Black Tooth". I cant say what the scene really revealed except for a couple of the shops there were definitely different than the ones in Storybrooke. After they finished filming that scene, Sean and Lana went over to the middle of the street where the fallen clock tower laid, and posed for a photo in front of it so they could post it on their social media accounts later. A bit later in the day, A scene was shot with a large portion of the main cast walking together thru the streets looking at the carnage, and looking like they were preparing for a possible attack as the group carried bows & arrows and guns with them. Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Dallas, Jennifer Morrison, and Jared Gilmore joined Carlyle, Parrilla and Maguire for this scene. Late last month, the cast and crew of the show celebrated their 100th episode milestone with an event in Steveston at the Cannery which the shows creator tweeted to fans to come & "see" the cast. Which technically they did.... of course, NONE of the cast came over and interacted with the fans because the ABC / Disney people there refused to allow it even when it appeared the cast were wanting to. After the party, many of the cast DID however stop for the very small group of fans that waited out there till slightly after 11 PM for the event to wrap up including former cast member & current iZombie star Rose McIver and most of the current cast including Colin O'Donoghue, Rebecca Mader and Sean Maguire who were the last actors to leave. Once Upon A Time airs Sundays on ABC in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada.

The small village of Steveston in South Richmond was again transformed into Storybrooke for a day of filming for episode 1. The first scene I came across in downtown Steveston for the 1st day of shooting for Once Upon A Time season 5 in the town involved an odd sight. Granny's diner had been transformed into a beer garden. whether this is a temporary situation, or permanent was not yet known. More off, was Gabe Khouth as Sneezy wearing an Emma Swan style red jacket & driving the Sheriffs car. He shows up to what appears to be a ribbon cutting ceremony with several other dwarves in attendance including Faustino DiBauda, Mig Macario and maybe others.. I couldn't see the whole scene from where I was, but there was at least 3 or 4 of the dwarves there. Most notably missing was Lee Arenberg. After that scene, the production moved 1/2 block down to an intersection. In the intersection they set up a scene with several cast members including Rebecca Mader, Sean Maguire, Lana Parrilla, Josh Dallas, Ginnifer Goodwin, Colin O'Donoghue, Emilie de Ravin and Jared Gilmore. In the scene, we see Lana as Regina Mills marching towards Rebecca and Sean as Zelena and Robin Hood. Regina is flanked by several of the locals, Hook, Mary & Dacid, Belle and Henry all follow her to the middle of the street. It seems that Zelena has robin captive somehow and demands a wand from Regina for the release of Robin. Regina does whats asked of her, and gives Zelana a wand. Robin is then let go & instantly taken in by Regina to their side of the battle. Zelena proudly waves the wand around, attempting perhaps to create magic or a spell? But its appears to be a fake. Zelena realizes it wont work, but before she can react, Regina moves in & puts a cuff around her arm and seemingly stops Zelena dead in her tracks. Once the cast did a couple rehearsals of it, they went back to their trailers & got into wardrobe for the actual filming. A little while later, the group returned to film the scene in their full wardrobes for the day. By that point, the crowds swelled well over 150 and at times, over 200 people, as the combination of the 1st shoot of the season and nice weather drew a larger than usual crowd. No surprise with the size of the crowd, none of the main cast came over to meet any fans at all this day. while the main cast is becoming less & less receptive of coming over in the past year or so, its rare that NONE of them do. Guess the absurdly large crowd was just too much for any of them to consider.
While they were shooting this scene, my battery on my camera died so I left while they were still shooting. so I don't know if more happened in this scene afterwards, but the amount of times they shot this, I doubt it. you can follow the stars of Once Upon A Time on Social Media sites Once Upon A Time Twitter Facebook Lana Parrilla Twitter Facebook Sean Maguire Twitter Rebecca Mader Twitter Facebook Colin O'Donoghue Twitter Facebook Josh Dallas Twitter Ginnifer Goodwin Twitter Facebook Emilie de Ravin Twitter Gabe Khouth Twitter Jared Gilmore Twitter Faustino Di Bauda Twitter Mig Macario Twitter Once Upon A Time returns for season 5 on ABC in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada starting Oct 2015 |
