THIS POST CONTAINS POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 505 "DREAMCATCHER" OF ONCE UPON A TIME. If you have not seen the episode and do not want to see or read any possible spoilers, do not continue reading or viewing the article. . . . last warning . . Back in late August, the cast and crew of Once Upon A Time made their way back to the small village of Steveston to shoot several scenes for episode 505. Since I have a LOT of photos from this shoot, I am breaking it down in to 3 blog posts. So here are the shots from the early part of the day. The first scene shot was with several cast on set. Lana Parrilla as Regina, Ginnifer Goodwin as Snow White, Colin O'Donoghue as Captain Hook, Sean Maguire as Robin Hood, Emilie de Ravin as Bella and Joana Metrass as Guinivere were all on set for a scene in front of Grannys Diner. Snow was busy handing out leaflets to a party that was going to take place in Storybrooke (which they filmed a couple scenes for later that night...and will be featured in a later blog post). While Snow is doing that, the others are having a conversation on the sidewalk. I also saw the car for Cruella De Vil sitting off to the side of the set, not in the shot, just there....waiting to be used later. It appears its "For Sale". So... if you need a new car, perhaps contact someone in Storybrooke... I hear they've got 1 there for sale.... cheap? While that scene was going on, the crew were setting up businesses for the next scene by putting Storybrooke signsover top of all the Steveston signs. A bit later, a scene was shot a bit further up the street, almost at the post office with Jared Gilmore as Henry Mills and Olivia Steele-Falconer as Violet. In the scene we see Violet and Henry sitting on a bench while Violet tells Henry that her horse is missing. henry tells her he will help find her horse. This was 1 of many scenes fans that went to Steveston that day didnt really get to see. The crew for OUAT has gotten way out of hand with trying to keep fans away from their filming this year (well last couple eyars...but this year they are really stooping to new lows). For this scene, they had fans stay on a sidestreet that was a BLOCK AWAY, 150 feet or so back up that street. This literally, not figurative, but literally gave the fans nothing to see. The shere arrogance of the crew is astounding (although in their defense, the fans blindly follow their word like sheep) The crew really has a "we own Steveston" attitude and feel they can make the laws. If a show thats won major awards like Sherlock can film scenes with their two Emmy Award winning actors on a street with 500+ people immediately across the two lane street (as shown below), Once Upon A Time should manage JUST FINE with 125-200 fans a block away, but still visibly capable of seeing it.
