With a list of Producers that include many of the superhero/comic book genres biggest Producers like Greg Berlanti, Jeremy Carver, Neil Gaiman, Beth Schwartz, Lee Toland Krieger, and Sarah Schechter attached to it, there is big expectations for this series. in this blog are photos from 3 different sets I made it to over that time. I DO NOT know which episode numbers they are from, as I have long since lost track of when they started, and ended filming. For the first set, I caught them doing 2 different scenes on a freezing cold night shoot in the Gastown/Downtown Eastside area of Vancouver. I am unsure if any actors were on set for the first scene. At the time, I thought a pair that were crossing the street in the scene might be cast, but as the scene played out, I got the impression it might just be a filler scene of extras lining up. One thing that was for certain was, the scene was outside the Tongue & Tail Butcher Shop, which they filmed at on multiple occasions throughout the season (I took this photo of them there during the pilot filming, even earlier than these shoots, way back in 2021). After they finished that scene, they moved across the street to an alley scene. In the alley scene, we had 3 actors from the show doing a scene. Of course, since I had to stand more than a block away to get any shots of it, it was impossible to tell what was being said/done in the scene. All that I can confirm is George Rexstrew as Edwin Paine, Jayden Revri as Charles Rowland, and Kassius Nelson as Crystal Palace were in the scene, and that the three of them meet in the alley. Set two is the only daytime scene I caught them doing, in a location that almost every long running Vancouver production has used at some time or another, Victory Square. On this day, they had former Supernatural star Ruth Connell, as The Night Nurse, walking through a park, reading a book for a scene that appears to take place in Port Townsend, Washington. The scene seemed to contain no dialogue, or interactions with any of the background that were moving around in the scene. Shortly after that, they moved down the street to the Tongue & Tail, to set up for a night shoot, which I didnt stick around for. The final set was at another commonly used film location. The Vancouver Art Gallery. For this scene, there were couple actors on set, but I do not know if they are regulars or not, as the photos I got were, to say the least, poor. There was news vans, and police bikes from the United Kingdom also at the set, but I didnt see them in the specific scene I saw being filmed, so I dont know if they were for later scenes after I left, or for scenes that were shot before I got there. That is unfortunately all I got from season 1 of Dead Boy Detectives. Depending how well the series does, if there is a season 2, and if this post does decent enough, I will probably cover it as much as I can for season two. One of the major reasons it didnt get a lot of coverage in season 1 was, there were too many larger shows filming here, that have since wrapped. You can now get exclusive first looks on our Patreon ahead of these blog posts for as little as $2 a month for photos, and $5 a month for videos. Any video content from sets can be found on my YOUTUBE CHANNEL usually a few days/weeks after still photos are posted here. The series premieres on April 25, 2024 on Netflix.

This blog was delayed due to 2 major medical situations that saw me in the hospital for a combined 21 days in February & March.... so apologies for the delay, but much of it was out of my hands. On this day, they were filming scenes at a couple locations on Davie Street in Vancouver. I got there to see them filming the 2nd location, in front of a coffee shop. In the scene was Scott Caan as Detective Jason Grant, and Ryan Broussard as Sergeant Mike Sherman. The scene was simple enough, the pair walk along having a conversation, when they then turn the corner, stop and have more dialogue. During the scene Mike looks at the glass of the coffee shop & does some type of shoulder roll thing, as if hes seeing how good/cool he looks doing it. Then the pair continue walking till the scene cuts moments later. During 1 of their breaks, I waited near their green room, and got Scott as he was walking by, to stop & sign some photos I had of him from his Hawaii Five-O days. I then wrapped up my day, and planned on going back for the next days shoot a little bit down the street at a club, but never did end up going, but I did take the 1 photo at the end of this set of them setting up props there the day before. If you are confused on how many you can post, ASK FIRST, and I will let you know. The cast & crew of the new NBC drama "The Irrational" filmed in Vancouver through the spring, till the current WGA Writers Strike, and the SAG-AFTRA actors strike halted production. Here is hoping the Studios stop trying to play chicken with 2 groups that actually makes their products happen more than they do, and the production can get back to work soon. I was lucky enough to catch up to them in May filming episode 1x06, directed by Ernest Dickerson (The Walking Dead, Dexter, Bosch) for a scene being filmed in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery. The scene consisted of 4 actors meeting on the steps at a courthouse. In there was THE FLASH star Jesse L. Martin as "Alec Mercer", the lead of the series, with Travina Springer (Ms. Marvel) as "Kylie", Emidio Lopes as "Mason Hill Jones", and Donald Sales (A Million Little Things, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) as "Neville Wingo". In the scene, the trio of guys walk down the steps of a courthouse, and see Kylie at the bottom of the stairs. They then have a conversation where Kylie looks distraught at what she is hearing. She is holding up a two sided sign with messages printed on them from what seems to be from a protest that happened earlier on in the days filming. Earlier in the day they did a scene at the fictional "Wylton University", which I did not see, but had Molly Kunz (Chicago Fire) as "Phoebe" & Arash DeMaxi (Partner Track) as "Rizwan" in the scene that had them on the grounds of the Uni, and in a classroom. Before the scenes at the Art Gallery, they did shoot a scene at a nearby hotel with Jesse, and two guest stars. One being Malcolm Jamal Warner (The Resident, & The *I wont mention his name here, but you know* Show) as "Dustin Atwood" & Michael Querin (Motherland: Fort Salem) as "Judge Haynes". The official NBC page for the show describes it as "A professor of behavioral science solves high-stakes cases. Streaming next-day on Peacock." (talk about a low effort synopsis). It will star Jesse L Martin, Maahra Hill (Delilah) "Agent Marisa Clark", Travina Springer, Molly Kunz, & Arash DeMaxi. The cast & crew of the Apple TV Monsterverse series, currently filming under the title of "HourGlass" (currently known right now as "Untitled Apple TV Godzilla & The Titans Project") (UPDATED SEPT 8 - "Monarch : Legacy Of Monsters") started two weeks ago. Yesterday was the first known public set of the series. They were filming in an empty lot in downtown Vancouver close to an area other projects have used in the past. On this particular day, the series, directed by "Wandavision" director Matt Shakman, shot scenes of a refugee encampment in the Oakland area (based off an emergency vehicle that was near there, but not in the scenes I saw shot). On this day, they were shooting a scene with a lot of background, walking around either looking like army personnel, or refugees. Sadly, I never saw Gozilla, or any other monsters walking around. Starting to think they might not be real. The cast was recently announced at the end of June. Kiersey Clemons, Joe Tippett, Elisa Lasowski, and Ren Watabe, joined the actress I saw on set during this days shoot. Anna Sawai (Pachinko, F9, Shogun) was on set as "Cate" doing 2 different scenes. First scene was with Tamlyn Tomita. The second was with a currently unidentified actor. (if you know who they are, let me know in the comments). The first scene saw Anna walk across a lot while people walk around, and a truck rolls through. She comes to a pair of chairs set up infront of tents. There she comes up to Tamlyns character, and gives her a drink & food, while she sits in the other chair there, and they talk while eating. A bit later, she moved over to the next part of the lot. Here she does a scene with an actor. She walked through a different lot, turns around, sees the man, they run to each other, hug in an excited embrace. they then talk for awhile, before having an argument, and the man leaves, and she just stands there looking around. I had hoped for a bit more exciting content on the day. But this was the 1st public shoot. So for now, thats what there is. A video of these scenes is currently in the Patreon channel (photos 1st look as low as $2/mo, and videos as low as $5 a month), and will be up on my public Youtube channel in the upcoming weeks. The series premieres on Apple TV in November 17, 2023. THIS BLOG POST IS FOR AN UPCOMING STREAMING SERIES "PACHINKO", AND MAY CONTAIN POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR THE SHOW. The cast & crew of the Korean/Japanese American drama Pachinko, based off a book by author Min Jin Lee, filmed in Vancouver back during the early days of filming in the pandemic. Despite the many limitations in place because of the rules put in place to film at this time, they managed to finish their project on time. The series stars - Academy Award winner Youn Yuh-Jung/ 윤여정 as Sunja - Kim Min-Ha / 김민하 as teenage Sunja - Lee Min-Ho/ 이민호 as Koh Hansu - Jin Ha as Solomon Baek - Anna Sawai as Naomi. - Soj Arai as Baek Mozasu - Kaho Minami as Etsuko - Jung Eun-Chae as Kyunghee - Jimmy Simpson as Tom Andrews It was directed by former Twilight cast member Justin Chon. It will be distributed on Apple tv. I caught up to their productions a couple times, but unfortunately, I saw very little of the actual filming, as much of it was inside a shipyard in Steveston. This was of course where Lee did several days of filming, and drew large crowds almost daily. I did see 1 scene get filmed on another night with 2 other actors (I am not familiar with who is playing which characters. Feel free to let me know & I can credit them accordingly) of two actors departing a train station with limited bags. I dont know which episodes they might be from, so you might not see them till the final episode, or they could be in the first episode. Below are some of my photos from those days. Along with a few from a guest photographer who allowed me use of a few of his photos of Lee that were notably better than what I had got on those days. The series premieres on Apple TV March 25, 2022. THIS BLOG POST IS FOR AN UPCOMING STREAMING MOVIE "FRESH", AND MAY CONTAIN POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR THE FILM. The cast & crew of Fresh, a film for streaming company Hulu, filmed around Vancouver for a couple months in early 2021, and now the streaming movie is getting ready for its big premiere on March 4, 2022. Just a little under a year after it filmed its last scenes. The first time I caught up with the cast & crew of this production was in an interesting set. For starters, both stars were on set, Marvel star Sebastian Stan as Steve, who at the time had his own series The Falcon & The Winter Soldier premiering on Disney+, along with recent Golden Globe nominated actress Daisy Edgar Jones as Noa were both on the set. Things get a little steamy for the pair, as they share a kiss in the scene, and do a scene where it seems that Noa gives Steve her number. This was also the first time, in a long time, I had crew members at a set try & bully me into leaving (quite unsuccessfully), and when I told them to get the Cop that was standing not even 10 feet away, they did.... only to get told they were in the wrong, and slink off in failure. I assumed I would have no more issues with this production after that. Silly me. The 2nd time I caught up to them was exactly a week later. This time it was a daytime scene, and Daisy was again on set. This time however, she was on set with a new cast member. Jonica T Gibbs as Millie. The pair shot a scene in a park where they were talking through some things, while having what I assume was a lunch. There was no sign of Sebastian around on this day. They also had shot another scene out on the street just as I got there they were wrapping it, so perhaps he was in that scene. But I never saw him, and didnt get to shoot whatever was in that scene at all. The crew, who as I said earlier, got their egos handed to them a week earlier apparently had a short memory. Because they attempted again to bully me & another photographer into leaving, which they not only ended up losing, but caused us to get even better angles than the ones we originally were in before they tried. I cant remember the last time a production had taken two Ls in year, let alone in 1 week. They clearly put all the movies budget into the on screen talent, because the behind the scene people werent the brightest. The last time I caught up to them was on the 2nd to last day of filming for the movie in mid-March. This time at a small studio just outside the city. We were not sure if we would even see them there as they were inside the studio shooting most of the day. But lo & behold, we did catch both Daisy & Sebastian walking back to set at one point. First up was Daisy, walking with a couple people. Shortly after Sebastian walked to set. When he was walking, he noticed me & the other photographer there just before him and his assistant went behind a large truck. When they came out the other side, his assistant tried fruitlessly to block us from photographing him, and to top it off, Sebastian seemingly wanted nothing to do with the feeble attempt at covering him, as he stepped around the man to give a huge thumbs up to us, before heading into the studio to film a scene in medical scrubs. The film is being directed by 1st time director Mimi Cave. It is from a screen play by Lauryn Kahn. It is described on their wikipedia page, as "The horrors of modern dating seen through one young woman's defiant battle to survive her new boyfriend's unusual appetites.". Fresh comes out March 4th on Hulu. At this time, no theatrical release seems to be planned. If you are a fan of Sebastian Stan, I also photographed him back when he was here filming Once Upon A Time. You can find those photos HERE. Video of these days shoots will be on Youtube soon (I will definitely have it up before the movie comes out, but not this week). You will be able to find it when its ready HERE. LEGENDS OF TOMORROW - episode 7x11 set report - directed by Jes Macallan with several cast11/12/2021 THIS BLOG POST IS FOR A "LEGENDS OF TOMORROW" SEASON 7 EPISODE 11), AND MAY CONTAIN POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR THE SEASON. If you are confused on how many you can post, ASK FIRST, and I will let you know. The cast & crew of Legends Of Tomorrow were filming earlier this week for episode 7x11, with cast member Jes Macallan directing, in the often used park just past the Vancouver border on the Burnaby side, Central Park. This is a common filming location for shows when they need a foresty looking set, but dont want to go to a full on forest. But on this day, the Legends were filming in a spot they had filmed at the last time I caught them in this park, an open field in between the forested parts. On this day, they were filming with 1 of the cast I saw there on that last set I was at this park for, Nick Zano, but instead of being Nate Heywood this time, he was in his Citizen Steele costume, with some uhhh arm upgrades? Joining him was Shayan Sobhian as Behrad Tarazi, as well as Caity Lotz in her rarely seen on set White Canary outfit. Now I am not one to ever post speculations in my posts. But I have seen many already doing it based off my preview photos from my Patreon. All I will say is, the Legends seemed a tad different on this day. The scene seemed to centre around a villain of the week looking guy, who seemed to have some type of long nails or something coming form his hands, a deformed face, and at one point seemed to be weilding something that could have been an ax? Then Nate confronts him as he raises his ax, and seems to punch him in the stomach, as the villain crumples to the ground, Nate shakes his hand off, then White Canary comes in, does a spin and produces some throwing stars. Behrad also seemed a little off, as he is standing there holding a big rifle. That was the only scene I saw them shoot on this day, but they did have a couple more hours of filming to do after I left. I also saw Adam Tsekhman there, but not on set, so he may have been getting ready to work on a later scene, or perhaps had just wrapped one before I got there. You can now get exclusive first looks on our Patreon ahead of these blog posts for as little as $1 a month for photos, and $5 a month for videos. I do have some set video. It will end up on Patreon soon, and in the next few weeks weeks on my youtube channel, so come back to find those then, or you can subscribe to my Youtube channel and get notified there when they drop. Also, sadly, never saw Beebo at set. Man he is elusive. Legends Of Tomorrow airs on Tuesdays on The CW.
