The cast & crew of the Apple TV Monsterverse series, currently filming under the title of "HourGlass" (currently known right now as "Untitled Apple TV Godzilla & The Titans Project") (UPDATED SEPT 8 - "Monarch : Legacy Of Monsters") started two weeks ago. Yesterday was the first known public set of the series. They were filming in an empty lot in downtown Vancouver close to an area other projects have used in the past. On this particular day, the series, directed by "Wandavision" director Matt Shakman, shot scenes of a refugee encampment in the Oakland area (based off an emergency vehicle that was near there, but not in the scenes I saw shot). On this day, they were shooting a scene with a lot of background, walking around either looking like army personnel, or refugees. Sadly, I never saw Gozilla, or any other monsters walking around. Starting to think they might not be real. The cast was recently announced at the end of June. Kiersey Clemons, Joe Tippett, Elisa Lasowski, and Ren Watabe, joined the actress I saw on set during this days shoot. Anna Sawai (Pachinko, F9, Shogun) was on set as "Cate" doing 2 different scenes. First scene was with Tamlyn Tomita. The second was with a currently unidentified actor. (if you know who they are, let me know in the comments). The first scene saw Anna walk across a lot while people walk around, and a truck rolls through. She comes to a pair of chairs set up infront of tents. There she comes up to Tamlyns character, and gives her a drink & food, while she sits in the other chair there, and they talk while eating. A bit later, she moved over to the next part of the lot. Here she does a scene with an actor. She walked through a different lot, turns around, sees the man, they run to each other, hug in an excited embrace. they then talk for awhile, before having an argument, and the man leaves, and she just stands there looking around. I had hoped for a bit more exciting content on the day. But this was the 1st public shoot. So for now, thats what there is. A video of these scenes is currently in the Patreon channel (photos 1st look as low as $2/mo, and videos as low as $5 a month), and will be up on my public Youtube channel in the upcoming weeks. The series premieres on Apple TV in November 17, 2023.

THIS BLOG POST IS FOR AN UPCOMING STREAMING SERIES "PACHINKO", AND MAY CONTAIN POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR THE SHOW. If you are confused on how many you can post, ASK FIRST, and I will let you know. The cast & crew of the Korean/Japanese American drama Pachinko, based off a book by author Min Jin Lee, filmed in Vancouver back during the early days of filming in the pandemic. Despite the many limitations in place because of the rules put in place to film at this time, they managed to finish their project on time. The series stars - Academy Award winner Youn Yuh-Jung/ 윤여정 as Sunja - Kim Min-Ha / 김민하 as teenage Sunja - Lee Min-Ho/ 이민호 as Koh Hansu - Jin Ha as Solomon Baek - Anna Sawai as Naomi. - Soj Arai as Baek Mozasu - Kaho Minami as Etsuko - Jung Eun-Chae as Kyunghee - Jimmy Simpson as Tom Andrews It was directed by former Twilight cast member Justin Chon. It will be distributed on Apple tv. I caught up to their productions a couple times, but unfortunately, I saw very little of the actual filming, as much of it was inside a shipyard in Steveston. This was of course where Lee did several days of filming, and drew large crowds almost daily. I did see 1 scene get filmed on another night with 2 other actors (I am not familiar with who is playing which characters. Feel free to let me know & I can credit them accordingly) of two actors departing a train station with limited bags. I dont know which episodes they might be from, so you might not see them till the final episode, or they could be in the first episode. Below are some of my photos from those days. Along with a few from a guest photographer who allowed me use of a few of his photos of Lee that were notably better than what I had got on those days. The series premieres on Apple TV March 25, 2022. |
