The cast & crew of the new NBC drama "The Irrational" filmed in Vancouver through the spring, till the current WGA Writers Strike, and the SAG-AFTRA actors strike halted production. Here is hoping the Studios stop trying to play chicken with 2 groups that actually makes their products happen more than they do, and the production can get back to work soon. I was lucky enough to catch up to them in May filming episode 1x06, directed by Ernest Dickerson (The Walking Dead, Dexter, Bosch) for a scene being filmed in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery. The scene consisted of 4 actors meeting on the steps at a courthouse. In there was THE FLASH star Jesse L. Martin as "Alec Mercer", the lead of the series, with Travina Springer (Ms. Marvel) as "Kylie", Emidio Lopes as "Mason Hill Jones", and Donald Sales (A Million Little Things, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) as "Neville Wingo". In the scene, the trio of guys walk down the steps of a courthouse, and see Kylie at the bottom of the stairs. They then have a conversation where Kylie looks distraught at what she is hearing. She is holding up a two sided sign with messages printed on them from what seems to be from a protest that happened earlier on in the days filming. Earlier in the day they did a scene at the fictional "Wylton University", which I did not see, but had Molly Kunz (Chicago Fire) as "Phoebe" & Arash DeMaxi (Partner Track) as "Rizwan" in the scene that had them on the grounds of the Uni, and in a classroom. Before the scenes at the Art Gallery, they did shoot a scene at a nearby hotel with Jesse, and two guest stars. One being Malcolm Jamal Warner (The Resident, & The *I wont mention his name here, but you know* Show) as "Dustin Atwood" & Michael Querin (Motherland: Fort Salem) as "Judge Haynes". The official NBC page for the show describes it as "A professor of behavioral science solves high-stakes cases. Streaming next-day on Peacock." (talk about a low effort synopsis). It will star Jesse L Martin, Maahra Hill (Delilah) "Agent Marisa Clark", Travina Springer, Molly Kunz, & Arash DeMaxi. You can now get exclusive first looks on our Patreon ahead of these blog posts for as little as $2 a month for photos, and $5 a month for videos. Any video content from sets can be found on my YOUTUBE CHANNEL usually a few days/wees after still photos are posted here. The series premieres on NBC September 25, 2023.

The cast & crew of the Apple TV Monsterverse series, currently filming under the title of "HourGlass" (currently known right now as "Untitled Apple TV Godzilla & The Titans Project") (UPDATED SEPT 8 - "Monarch : Legacy Of Monsters") started two weeks ago. Yesterday was the first known public set of the series. They were filming in an empty lot in downtown Vancouver close to an area other projects have used in the past. On this particular day, the series, directed by "Wandavision" director Matt Shakman, shot scenes of a refugee encampment in the Oakland area (based off an emergency vehicle that was near there, but not in the scenes I saw shot). On this day, they were shooting a scene with a lot of background, walking around either looking like army personnel, or refugees. Sadly, I never saw Gozilla, or any other monsters walking around. Starting to think they might not be real. The cast was recently announced at the end of June. Kiersey Clemons, Joe Tippett, Elisa Lasowski, and Ren Watabe, joined the actress I saw on set during this days shoot. Anna Sawai (Pachinko, F9, Shogun) was on set as "Cate" doing 2 different scenes. First scene was with Tamlyn Tomita. The second was with a currently unidentified actor. (if you know who they are, let me know in the comments). The first scene saw Anna walk across a lot while people walk around, and a truck rolls through. She comes to a pair of chairs set up infront of tents. There she comes up to Tamlyns character, and gives her a drink & food, while she sits in the other chair there, and they talk while eating. A bit later, she moved over to the next part of the lot. Here she does a scene with an actor. She walked through a different lot, turns around, sees the man, they run to each other, hug in an excited embrace. they then talk for awhile, before having an argument, and the man leaves, and she just stands there looking around. I had hoped for a bit more exciting content on the day. But this was the 1st public shoot. So for now, thats what there is. A video of these scenes is currently in the Patreon channel (photos 1st look as low as $2/mo, and videos as low as $5 a month), and will be up on my public Youtube channel in the upcoming weeks. The series premieres on Apple TV in November 17, 2023. ![]() THIS BLOG POST IS FOR AN UPCOMING STREAMING SERIES "PACHINKO", AND MAY CONTAIN POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR THE SHOW. The cast & crew of the Korean/Japanese American drama Pachinko, based off a book by author Min Jin Lee, filmed in Vancouver back during the early days of filming in the pandemic. Despite the many limitations in place because of the rules put in place to film at this time, they managed to finish their project on time. The series stars - Academy Award winner Youn Yuh-Jung/ 윤여정 as Sunja - Kim Min-Ha / 김민하 as teenage Sunja - Lee Min-Ho/ 이민호 as Koh Hansu - Jin Ha as Solomon Baek - Anna Sawai as Naomi. - Soj Arai as Baek Mozasu - Kaho Minami as Etsuko - Jung Eun-Chae as Kyunghee - Jimmy Simpson as Tom Andrews It was directed by former Twilight cast member Justin Chon. It will be distributed on Apple tv. I caught up to their productions a couple times, but unfortunately, I saw very little of the actual filming, as much of it was inside a shipyard in Steveston. This was of course where Lee did several days of filming, and drew large crowds almost daily. I did see 1 scene get filmed on another night with 2 other actors (I am not familiar with who is playing which characters. Feel free to let me know & I can credit them accordingly) of two actors departing a train station with limited bags. I dont know which episodes they might be from, so you might not see them till the final episode, or they could be in the first episode. Below are some of my photos from those days. Along with a few from a guest photographer who allowed me use of a few of his photos of Lee that were notably better than what I had got on those days. The cast & crew of Fresh, a film for streaming company Hulu, filmed around Vancouver for a couple months in early 2021, and now the streaming movie is getting ready for its big premiere on March 4, 2022. Just a little under a year after it filmed its last scenes. The first time I caught up with the cast & crew of this production was in an interesting set. For starters, both stars were on set, Marvel star Sebastian Stan as Steve, who at the time had his own series The Falcon & The Winter Soldier premiering on Disney+, along with recent Golden Globe nominated actress Daisy Edgar Jones as Noa were both on the set. Things get a little steamy for the pair, as they share a kiss in the scene, and do a scene where it seems that Noa gives Steve her number. This was also the first time, in a long time, I had crew members at a set try & bully me into leaving (quite unsuccessfully), and when I told them to get the Cop that was standing not even 10 feet away, they did.... only to get told they were in the wrong, and slink off in failure. I assumed I would have no more issues with this production after that. Silly me. The 2nd time I caught up to them was exactly a week later. This time it was a daytime scene, and Daisy was again on set. This time however, she was on set with a new cast member. Jonica T Gibbs as Millie. The pair shot a scene in a park where they were talking through some things, while having what I assume was a lunch. There was no sign of Sebastian around on this day. They also had shot another scene out on the street just as I got there they were wrapping it, so perhaps he was in that scene. But I never saw him, and didnt get to shoot whatever was in that scene at all. The crew, who as I said earlier, got their egos handed to them a week earlier apparently had a short memory. Because they attempted again to bully me & another photographer into leaving, which they not only ended up losing, but caused us to get even better angles than the ones we originally were in before they tried. I cant remember the last time a production had taken two Ls in year, let alone in 1 week. They clearly put all the movies budget into the on screen talent, because the behind the scene people werent the brightest. The last time I caught up to them was on the 2nd to last day of filming for the movie in mid-March. This time at a small studio just outside the city. We were not sure if we would even see them there as they were inside the studio shooting most of the day. But lo & behold, we did catch both Daisy & Sebastian walking back to set at one point. First up was Daisy, walking with a couple people. Shortly after Sebastian walked to set. When he was walking, he noticed me & the other photographer there just before him and his assistant went behind a large truck. When they came out the other side, his assistant tried fruitlessly to block us from photographing him, and to top it off, Sebastian seemingly wanted nothing to do with the feeble attempt at covering him, as he stepped around the man to give a huge thumbs up to us, before heading into the studio to film a scene in medical scrubs. The film is being directed by 1st time director Mimi Cave. It is from a screen play by Lauryn Kahn. It is described on their wikipedia page, as "The horrors of modern dating seen through one young woman's defiant battle to survive her new boyfriend's unusual appetites.". Fresh comes out March 4th on Hulu. At this time, no theatrical release seems to be planned. If you are a fan of Sebastian Stan, I also photographed him back when he was here filming Once Upon A Time. You can find those photos HERE. Video of these days shoots will be on Youtube soon (I will definitely have it up before the movie comes out, but not this week). You will be able to find it when its ready HERE. LEGENDS OF TOMORROW - episode 7x11 set report - directed by Jes Macallan with several cast11/12/2021 ![]() THIS BLOG POST IS FOR A "LEGENDS OF TOMORROW" SEASON 7 EPISODE 11), AND MAY CONTAIN POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR THE SEASON. The cast & crew of Legends Of Tomorrow were filming earlier this week for episode 7x11, with cast member Jes Macallan directing, in the often used park just past the Vancouver border on the Burnaby side, Central Park. This is a common filming location for shows when they need a foresty looking set, but dont want to go to a full on forest. But on this day, the Legends were filming in a spot they had filmed at the last time I caught them in this park, an open field in between the forested parts. On this day, they were filming with 1 of the cast I saw there on that last set I was at this park for, Nick Zano, but instead of being Nate Heywood this time, he was in his Citizen Steele costume, with some uhhh arm upgrades? Joining him was Shayan Sobhian as Behrad Tarazi, as well as Caity Lotz in her rarely seen on set White Canary outfit. Now I am not one to ever post speculations in my posts. But I have seen many already doing it based off my preview photos from my Patreon. All I will say is, the Legends seemed a tad different on this day. The scene seemed to centre around a villain of the week looking guy, who seemed to have some type of long nails or something coming form his hands, a deformed face, and at one point seemed to be weilding something that could have been an ax? Then Nate confronts him as he raises his ax, and seems to punch him in the stomach, as the villain crumples to the ground, Nate shakes his hand off, then White Canary comes in, does a spin and produces some throwing stars. Behrad also seemed a little off, as he is standing there holding a big rifle. That was the only scene I saw them shoot on this day, but they did have a couple more hours of filming to do after I left. I also saw Adam Tsekhman there, but not on set, so he may have been getting ready to work on a later scene, or perhaps had just wrapped one before I got there. You can now get exclusive first looks on our Patreon ahead of these blog posts for as little as $1 a month for photos, and $5 a month for videos. I do have some set video. This location is most well known to fans of Once Upon A Time as the primary location for the shows downtown of their show. But this time, LOT had it dressed up to look like Texas in the 1920s. These scenes are for episode 7x01 titled "The Bullet Blondes". Its directed by Kevin Mock, who is an executive producer on the show, and has directed 10 other Legends episodes in the past. I dont know everyone who was on set during the whole day, as I only stayed there for about 90 minutes, but I did see some of the cast shoot, and saw the trailers for several others. Caity Lotz as Sara Lance was in the first scene I saw being shot there. She was dressed in fishnet stockings, some vest/shorts combination thing, a red coat that looks like something you would see a circus announcer wearing, and a top hat. The scene had her coming out from nowhere, into the middle of the street, and she raises her voice so that all the towns people nearby heard her, and had them circle her, and she went on to tell them that they have seen some wild things there (oh, its apparently in Odessa, Texas, as she specifically says "here in Odessa" at one point, and there IS a Texas flag at the location). At the end of her speech, she does a little twirl of the hat, places it on her head, takes a bow, then the towns people all give her a round of applause, and then thats the end of the scene. A little later they did a scene with 3 unknown actors walking out of the sheriffs office. Unknown who they were supposed to be, but there was a trailer for "J. Edgar Hoover" there. So, I am guessing 1 of them was him. A little after that, they did a scene with Olivia Swann as Astra Logue, and Lisseth Chavez as Esperanza "Spooner" Cruz. The pair speed walk towards the sheriffs office, before Astra grabs Spooner for a moment giving her a slight look of uncertainty, then they hustle around the side of the sheriffs office, look in a window, then head out towards the middle of the street. That was it. They were filming for another 4-5 hours after I left. But unfortunately, I had other things to get to that day, so I had to leave then. Before I left, as I said, saw the trailers, and checked to see what they had. Saw trailers for Ava, Zari, Sara, Astra, Behrad, J. Edgar Hoover, and someone named "Gloria". I didnt see Spooners trailer, but obviously she was there too. I did NOT see Constantine, or Garys trailers, and obviously the recently departed Mick. Some of those trailers may not have been in use, as there is usually two cast to a single trailer, so for instance, if Astras trailer was connected to Behrads, then even if Behrad wasnt working that day, his would be there etc. But I got the impression most were in use. Guessing for those later scenes I didnt get to stick around for. It was also nice to be at a set where the crew were happy to have people there. During this past season, I ran into more attitude at sets than any year prior (and not about distancing, or something logical like that, but just being dicks for being dicks reason). So it was a joy to be at a set where multiple times, we had crew say "thank you" to us for coming and covering the show. Also, sadly, never saw Beebo at set. Man he is elusive. The cast & crew of the upcoming 3rd movie to the popular USA Network program Psych have almost completed filming on the film. This week, they were on location at the place they do the exteriors for the Santa Barbara Police Department Headquarters. The first day at the set saw no action to be seen. They filmed a scene around the side of the building that seemed to take all day. Only person I did see was director Steve Franks. They were still making up the front of the building that day for the next days shoot out there, so I got a couple photos of the building, and of the flag, as well as some of their squad of Police vehicles they had back at the circus. On day two I got to see a bit of the filming finally. In front of the building they had Timothy Omundson as Carlton Lassiter, aka Lassie, back at the SBPD HQ. This was my 1st time seeing him back on set since his stroke, and I was actually a little excited to see him back. He was standing near the bottom of the stairs, looking up, seemingly having a conversation with someone. But who was it? It was Sage Brocklebank. Buzz McNab was there, dressed in his detective suit, and walks down the stairs eventually in the scene, passing Lassie, and says something to him, before walking off. That was it for that scene from what I could see. Later they filmed up behind some trees with James Roday Rodriguez as Shawn Spencer, and Dule Hill as Burton Guster, aka Gus, aka Lavender Goomes, aka Jazz Hands, aka Ghee Buttersnaps, aka MC Clap Yo Hands, aka Brutal Hustler, aka Magic Head, aka Bruton Gaster. Both Shawn & Gus were sporting some new looks..... For Shawn, a fuller beard, and for Gus, a fuller head of hair. Say good bye to the smooth top of Magic Head. Unfortunately, I saw nothing of what happened in that scene, but I suspect based on what I saw on day 3, it was a continuation, or set up for what I saw. One thing I found extra uneccesary on this location was the 3 little peons who were obsessed with using umbrellas to block EVERYTHING. I mean hey, I get it when a scene is going on, if you really think its a big spoiler to cover. I can get that. I mean it almost never works, but at least I get trying. But trying to cover the shows 2 leads just walking to their vehicle after they have wrapped filming? Guess what idiots, I already know they are on the show. You didnt really hide a big scoop. Also, you failed anyways. Always baffles me the stupid decisions some crew make. A scene with a spoiler, hey yeah, try your best. Walking to a car after wrapping?.... not really needed... akay, enough of that rant. At the end of day two, my friend & I actually got lucky enough to get Timothy to sign a few things as he left for the day. When I said to him "its good to see you again", he replied back "its good to be seen.". He was definitely in good spirits. Really happy to see Lassie on set again. Day 3 was a little easier to see some stuff, but still limited by the design of the property. I saw a scene with Lassie about 1/2 way up the stairs, looking down. Below Buzz is there, and off to the far side, behind the trees, was Gus & Shawn. Gus was carrying a backpack for some reason, and Shawn had an earpiece in. I never saw what their part of the scene consisted of, as it was behind the trees & they never came further out into the open for it. This was the 2nd set I had made it to for the film. The first, which also had even less to pass on at the time, with James, and Maggie Lawson as Juliet O'Hara doing small scenes for still photos, was HERE. All together, I have run into everyone from the series this film, except Kirsten Nelson currently. I managed to catch up to Corbin Bernsen one day while he was out shopping, and he signed while holding the pen with his shirt.... even though I had sanitizer for him to use. Currently, the movie is slated to wrap next week. On the 3rd day I got there, and they were filming more scenes out on the front steps. Psych The Movie 3: This Is Us will come out on NBC stupid/pointless Peacock streaming site eventually in late 2021, or 2022 instead of the USA Network. |
