This location is most well known to fans of Once Upon A Time as the primary location for the shows downtown of their show. But this time, LOT had it dressed up to look like Texas in the 1920s. These scenes are for episode 7x01 titled "The Bullet Blondes". Its directed by Kevin Mock, who is an executive producer on the show, and has directed 10 other Legends episodes in the past. I dont know everyone who was on set during the whole day, as I only stayed there for about 90 minutes, but I did see some of the cast shoot, and saw the trailers for several others. Caity Lotz as Sara Lance was in the first scene I saw being shot there. She was dressed in fishnet stockings, some vest/shorts combination thing, a red coat that looks like something you would see a circus announcer wearing, and a top hat. The scene had her coming out from nowhere, into the middle of the street, and she raises her voice so that all the towns people nearby heard her, and had them circle her, and she went on to tell them that they have seen some wild things there (oh, its apparently in Odessa, Texas, as she specifically says "here in Odessa" at one point, and there IS a Texas flag at the location). At the end of her speech, she does a little twirl of the hat, places it on her head, takes a bow, then the towns people all give her a round of applause, and then thats the end of the scene. A little later they did a scene with 3 unknown actors walking out of the sheriffs office. Unknown who they were supposed to be, but there was a trailer for "J. Edgar Hoover" there. So, I am guessing 1 of them was him. A little after that, they did a scene with Olivia Swann as Astra Logue, and Lisseth Chavez as Esperanza "Spooner" Cruz. The pair speed walk towards the sheriffs office, before Astra grabs Spooner for a moment giving her a slight look of uncertainty, then they hustle around the side of the sheriffs office, look in a window, then head out towards the middle of the street. That was it. They were filming for another 4-5 hours after I left. But unfortunately, I had other things to get to that day, so I had to leave then. Before I left, as I said, saw the trailers, and checked to see what they had. Saw trailers for Ava, Zari, Sara, Astra, Behrad, J. Edgar Hoover, and someone named "Gloria". I didnt see Spooners trailer, but obviously she was there too. I did NOT see Constantine, or Garys trailers, and obviously the recently departed Mick. Some of those trailers may not have been in use, as there is usually two cast to a single trailer, so for instance, if Astras trailer was connected to Behrads, then even if Behrad wasnt working that day, his would be there etc. But I got the impression most were in use. Guessing for those later scenes I didnt get to stick around for. It was also nice to be at a set where the crew were happy to have people there. During this past season, I ran into more attitude at sets than any year prior (and not about distancing, or something logical like that, but just being dicks for being dicks reason). So it was a joy to be at a set where multiple times, we had crew say "thank you" to us for coming and covering the show. Also, sadly, never saw Beebo at set. Man he is elusive. If you are confused on how many you can post, ASK FIRST, and I will let you know. The cast & crew of the upcoming 3rd movie to the popular USA Network program Psych have almost completed filming on the film. This week, they were on location at the place they do the exteriors for the Santa Barbara Police Department Headquarters. The first day at the set saw no action to be seen. They filmed a scene around the side of the building that seemed to take all day. Only person I did see was director Steve Franks. They were still making up the front of the building that day for the next days shoot out there, so I got a couple photos of the building, and of the flag, as well as some of their squad of Police vehicles they had back at the circus. On day two I got to see a bit of the filming finally. In front of the building they had Timothy Omundson as Carlton Lassiter, aka Lassie, back at the SBPD HQ. This was my 1st time seeing him back on set since his stroke, and I was actually a little excited to see him back. He was standing near the bottom of the stairs, looking up, seemingly having a conversation with someone. But who was it? It was Sage Brocklebank. Buzz McNab was there, dressed in his detective suit, and walks down the stairs eventually in the scene, passing Lassie, and says something to him, before walking off. That was it for that scene from what I could see. Later they filmed up behind some trees with James Roday Rodriguez as Shawn Spencer, and Dule Hill as Burton Guster, aka Gus, aka Lavender Goomes, aka Jazz Hands, aka Ghee Buttersnaps, aka MC Clap Yo Hands, aka Brutal Hustler, aka Magic Head, aka Bruton Gaster. Both Shawn & Gus were sporting some new looks..... For Shawn, a fuller beard, and for Gus, a fuller head of hair. Say good bye to the smooth top of Magic Head. Unfortunately, I saw nothing of what happened in that scene, but I suspect based on what I saw on day 3, it was a continuation, or set up for what I saw. One thing I found extra uneccesary on this location was the 3 little peons who were obsessed with using umbrellas to block EVERYTHING. I mean hey, I get it when a scene is going on, if you really think its a big spoiler to cover. I can get that. I mean it almost never works, but at least I get trying. But trying to cover the shows 2 leads just walking to their vehicle after they have wrapped filming? Guess what idiots, I already know they are on the show. You didnt really hide a big scoop. Also, you failed anyways. Always baffles me the stupid decisions some crew make. A scene with a spoiler, hey yeah, try your best. Walking to a car after wrapping?.... not really needed... akay, enough of that rant. At the end of day two, my friend & I actually got lucky enough to get Timothy to sign a few things as he left for the day. When I said to him "its good to see you again", he replied back "its good to be seen.". He was definitely in good spirits. Really happy to see Lassie on set again. Day 3 was a little easier to see some stuff, but still limited by the design of the property. I saw a scene with Lassie about 1/2 way up the stairs, looking down. Below Buzz is there, and off to the far side, behind the trees, was Gus & Shawn. Gus was carrying a backpack for some reason, and Shawn had an earpiece in. I never saw what their part of the scene consisted of, as it was behind the trees & they never came further out into the open for it. This was the 2nd set I had made it to for the film. The first, which also had even less to pass on at the time, with James, and Maggie Lawson as Juliet O'Hara doing small scenes for still photos, was HERE. All together, I have run into everyone from the series this film, except Kirsten Nelson currently. I managed to catch up to Corbin Bernsen one day while he was out shopping, and he signed while holding the pen with his shirt.... even though I had sanitizer for him to use. Currently, the movie is slated to wrap next week. On the 3rd day I got there, and they were filming more scenes out on the front steps. Psych The Movie 3: This Is Us will come out on NBC stupid/pointless Peacock streaming site eventually in late 2021, or 2022 instead of the USA Network. The cast & crew of the new DC Comics Suicide Squad spin-off series "Peacemaker" (filming under the working title of "The Scriptures") spent yesterday filming scenes at a quiet residential street in Port Moody, about 1/2 hour outside of Vancouver. This is the same location I first found them at back in January. But there were a few changes this time. First, was John Cena was in his Peacemaker outfit (minus the helmet). Also there was no Red, white & blue, American flag themed car there. Lastly, Freddie Stroma was on set. Last time they were here, Stroma was not even cast, as he was only re-cast as Adrian Chase / Vigilante about 3 weeks ago. The scene they did outside was pretty basic. The pair walk to a car with some bags, and then the car drives off. This was, as far as I can recall, the first look at Adrian Chase on set. After they wrapped, a buddy of mine & I went over & got autographs from James Gunn, and he was very accommodating. I laughed hard at the fact he was wearing a King Shark shirt with "Hand" under it. I also added a couple of other photos from different sets that I didnt have enough to make a blog post out of. The 1st two photos are from their set in Cloverdale, but it was all indoors, so there was nothing to see that day. Just got a couple photos of John going to set. The 1 photo of the Evergreen Police Car was at a set that we found one day, only to find out they just finished shooting, so I just got that one before we left. So I just added them in here since there was nowhere else to put them. To see my previous Peacemaker set, go HERE. PEACEMAKER will air on HBO Max in 2022. With them beginning shooting late last week. I found them last week shooting at an old bank, but it was all interiors, so I have nothing to report from that set, except that at 1 point Dule Hill stopped by but was not working. But today I DID catch up with a couple of the cast working outside. A very small crew from the main shoot which was going on inside a former abandoned brewery came outside the compound to shoot, with photo cameras, not video cameras, some quick shoots of 2 characters in various wardrobes walking around different areas that are made to look like different times. At one point the shows creator, and this films director Steve Franks also came by to check on how things were going. He also came over to my friend & I, said hi, before heading back inside to probably do more work as the director. James Roday Rodriguez as Shawn Spencer, and Maggie Lawson as Juliet O'Hara were outside the compound, dressed in a variety of different wardrobes, doing very quick scenes that took less than an hour to do total, even with the wardrobe changes. What will the shots be for? Most probable options is frames photos sitting on a wall in the background of a scene, or, a scene where someone has been spying on them, and has a variety of photos of them out & about. Hopefully this will be just the start of scenes for the movie this time, as the previous movie saw them on location very rarely (they were out, but not really anywhere close by). SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2 movie - Fort Langley shoot with James Marsden, Tika Sumpter and set dressing5/13/2021 THIS BLOG POST IS FOR "SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2", AND MAY CONTAIN POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR THE SEASON. If you are confused on how many you can post, ASK FIRST, and I will let you know. The cast & crew of the upcoming sequel to the popular Sonic The Hedgehog movie, Sonic The Hedgehog 2, filmed for about a week in Fort Langley, an hour south east of Vancouver. I managed to make the trip out there twice that week. On the first day I was there, they had a scene set up in the middle of a street there with a pile of debris, and military personnel around. Shortly after, they started shooting a scene with James Marsden as Tom Wachowski, and Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski. In the scene, the pair run through the middle of the street in a panic, with Maddie yelling "Sonic" as they run towards a place in the middle of the street. That was all you could see from the actual filming. Fair to assume some post-filming editing will add some things to it. A bit later, they moved across the street, and about 200 feet down to film a scene in fromt of "Green Hills City Hall" where a massive helicopter (without its rotor on it) was parked on the lawn in front of it. There, Tom & Maddie do a scene where they get out of this chopper, with a man who seemed like a higher up ranking member of G.U.N. They are flanked by others who are carrying higher calibre weapons, thus it would seem they are concerned at this point about some type of threat. They all walk along about 40 feet, while the trio share a few words. aaaaand that was all I saw on the first day really. I took some set design photos that day that will be added to the blog section below. On the second day, there was no cast on set at all. While I was there, I decided to take a few more set piece photos, and watched 1 scene done with members of G.U.N. facing Mean Bean, with their guns drawn into the air. The only other scene I saw done that day was across the street, where we see a member of G.U.N. seemingly run & leap off a platform for some reason. Below is some of those scene photos, along with all the set decoration photos I took over the two days. Some of the signs around town were interesting, as you know when it is on camera, it will probably be a blur, but detailed stories were put on them. Also, please, can someone find Sgt. Whiskers? I made it to 1 other Sonic location earlier in the shoot, and you can see my blog HERE on that (no cast were at that location, it was all driving stunts). Below the photos is the video of the scenes I shot during that shoot in Fort Langley.... and a few photos from this blog added at the end of each part. The cast & crew of the upcoming sequel to the popular Sonic The Hedgehog movie, Sonic The Hedgehog 2, filmed for about a week in downtown Vancouver late last month & early this month. The director is Jeff Fowler for this movie. The cinematographer is Brandon Trost. Sadly, none of the cast, which includes James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Jim Carrey, and Ben Schwartz were seen on set. It was entirely driving scenes they did, with some explosions mixed into the bunch. The first night I went down, they worked on a driving scene with a camera attached to the front of a truck to giv ea 1st person view.Unfortunately, no way to know who, or what the view was from. They simply just drove down the street to the end of the block, where a street festival was set up. The next night, I at least got to see the vehicles that were being used in the scene they shot that night. A security truck that said "Lock & Load" on it, was speeding thru the streets of "Seattle" while several Seattle PD cars chased it. I was actually impressed the speed that truck could get to. Again, for the time I was there, this was the only scene I saw them working on. A few days later, I went back and checked out the scene 1 night, and caught them doing another chase scene with the same truck & cop cars, this time, it ended with an explosion down the street. Unsure what the context of what caused the explosion. Shortly after that (they had to wrap up the explosion scene by a specific time because of City rules) they moved ot doing a scene where a 1st person truck slowly went through a pile of cars, at a painstakingly slow pace. It seemed to just be looking around. Was it looking for someone, something? I dont know. Attached below is some video from these shoots (along with some of the still photos you are seeing in this post after them) Sonic The Hedgehog 2 is expected in theatres in April 2022. The cast & crew of the new DC Comics spin-off series "Peacemaker" (filming under the working title of "The Scriptures") spent the last couple of days filming scenes at a quiet residential street in Port Moody, about 1/2 hour outside of Vancouver. I cant be entirely sure, but I THINK this is the first ever set I have worked in Port Moody. The series, based on the character Peacemaker, who will be featured in the upcoming Suicide Squad 2 movie (directed by James Gunn), was given a series order by HBO Max several months before the film even drops. With James Gunn also directing the series, and WWE superstar John Cena attached as the star, there is hope this less PC style comic based show will be a hit for HBO Max in a way similar to how The Boys has been a shining example for Amazon. On this day, John was on set shooting a scene as a civilian, and not in his Peacemaker attire. Unsure if they will be giving him the same name he has in the comics of Christopher Smith. He was shooting a scene where he walks up to a house, and then gets in an argument with a neighbour, before going inside the hose where Auggie Smith, played by Robert Patrick lives. From where I was, about 1/2 a block away I could only hear what Cena was saying, and it was not pleasant. They did a few variations of the dialogue, with Cenas character calling him an "old F***" at the end of it. Also on set, was the director of course, James Gunn, who I saw a couple times conversing with John between takes. There was also a flag pole with a U.S. flag on it upside down. When I first got there, they had a cab from the fictional area of Charlton County, Washington (a nod to the original owners of the Peacemaker comics, Charlton Comics which DC bought in the 1980s... funny enough there is a Charlton County, but it is in Georgia). Also at the house was the car Peacemaker will have, which was covered in a U.S. flag design. From where I was, I could only see the back of it, with its "PSS MKR" license plate. But I did see a photo some person in the neighborhood had of the side of it with the re& white stripe design going across the car to the front hood, where a blue hood was covered in white stars, similar to the American flag. During his breaks, John walked around a lot, and constantly waved & gave the peace sign to the 2 photographers that were there (myself & a pap). Despite 2 crew members who were under the delusion they were going to stop us, (and under the delusion that he didnt want to be photographed, despite the multiple times he waved & gave peace signs.) we did of course get some photos. It was not a fun experience for them as shown below. UPDATE - I have 1 more Peacemaker set from later in the season, HERE Peacemaker will also star Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland, Steven Agee, Freddie Stroma, Annie Chang, and Chukwudi Iwuji PEACEMAKER will air on HBO Max January 13, 2022. When I get more posts on it, they will be in this blog section. So check back occasionally for any further updates. |
