The Winner of the 2014 Best Of TV Award for Best Action Or Drama Program is.... Arrow (CW)
Last year Arrow beat the defending two time champion Castle to win the honour, it was a mild upset. This year, Arrow returns to the top and it seemed like a foregone conclussion through much of the voting. With this win, Arrow nabs 9 Awards this year. While the show spent much of 2014 killing off characters close to the shows lead character Oiliver Queen, the shows fans have become a nearly unstoppable force on these awards. With 2587 votes, the show sets a new categorry record for most votes, and largest margin of victory 1,499 over runner up 2011 & 2012 winner Castle with 1088 votes. In 3rd is Sherlock in its 1st finals with 772 votes.
In 4th was Covert Affairs with 531 votes in the shows 1st & seemingly only finals appearance on news that it has been canceled. In 5th is Person Of Interest with 358 votes. The Winner of the 2014 Best Of TV Award for Best Action or Drama Actor is.... Christopher Gorham "Covert Affairs"
It seemed a foregone conclussion that this years winner would be from Castle or Arrow based on the first two rounds of voting & years prior voting. Instead Christopher Gorham "Covert Affairs" pulls out a quite frankly, unexpected win. Gorham who brings to life blind CIA officer Auggie Anderson on the show pulled out all the stops to win. Using twitter & the social celebrity networking site WhoSay to encourage fans to vote for him. This is the 1st time Best Action or Drama Actor Award has been won by someone from a show that has no other awards. This is Covert Affairs 1st & only award as the show recently was canceled by USA.
Runner up Stephen Amell "Arrow" was 3rd last year narrowly beat out the 2013 winner, his co-star John Barrowman by 4 votes. Fair to say the vote split of these 2, and the other 2 Arrow cast on the ballot had some play in this years winner.
In 4th is the 2 time winner of the award Nathan Fillion "Castle". Well back in 5th is James Spader "The Blacklist" in his 2nd finals appearance, up from last years 7th. This year Emily left no doubt who would win with a 1912 vote total and a 700 vote margin of victory, both category records. Katic with 1212 finds herself in 2nd. In 3rd was a tie between Maggie Smith of "Downton Abbey" in her 1st finals appearance and Amy Acker "Person of Interest" who was 5th last year.

The Winner of the 2014 Best Of TV Award for Best Sci-Fi or Fantasy Actor is.... Jensen Ackles "Supernatural"
For the 4th time in 5 years Jensen Ackles "Supernatural" wins Best Sci-Fi or fantasy Actor honours. This time Ackles, who brings to life sharp tongued, sometimes demon, sometimes hunter, all the time bad ass (except when he has Ghost sickness) Dean Winchester on "Supernatural" beat out newcomer Grant Gustin "The Flash" by 85 votes to win. In 3rd was another newcomer Peter Capaldi "Doctor Who" with 680 votes.
In 4th is Clark Gregg "Agents Of SHIELD" in his 1st year in the finals. In 5th is the 2013 3rd place finalist Peter Dinklage "Game Of Thrones". The 6th place finalist is the 2012 Winner in this category Norman Reedus "The Walking Dead". Just two votes back in 7th was last years 4th place finsher Robert Carlyle "Once Upon A Time". In 8th Colin O’Donoghue "Once Upon A Time" in his 1st finals. In 9th is Eric Balfour "Haven" with 273 votes, considering the heavy twitter traffic his fans had for him, this is a suprisingly low finish. In 10th is Jared Padalecki "Supernatural" marking the lowest finish for him, last year was 6th. In 11th was last years 5th place finalist Misha Collins. In 12th is Nikolaj Coster-Waldau "Game Of Thrones" with 97 votes.
Early on in voting Balfour & Gustin held leads before giving way to Ackles on day 1 & he never relinquished the lead again.

The Winner of the 2014 Best Of TV Award for Best Sci-Fi or Fantasy Actress is.... Jenna Coleman "Doctor Who"
The only category, with the exception of the New Program category where there CAN NOT be a repeat winner, to never have a repeat winner is the Best Sci-Fi or Fantasy Actress category. Jenna Coleman "Doctor Who" makes 5 different winners, from 5 different shows even. This also marks the 1st ever BOTVA win for Doctor Who in any category. The woman that brings to life "the impossible girl" Clara Oswald wins with 669 votes.
In 2nd on 18 votes back was Lana Parrilla "Once Upon A Time" up from her 4th place last year. In 3rd Melissa McBride "The Walking Dead" in her first finals appearance.
In 4th is last years 5th place finalist Tatiana Maslany "Orphan Black". In 5th is the 2012 winner Jennifer Morrison "Once Upon A Time" after a year out of the finals. Just 1 vote back in 6th Ming-Na Wen "Agents Of SHIELD". In 7th was last years 3rd place finalist and statistical oddity Emily Rose "Haven", the 5th most tweeted about candidate in any category in the finals finished 7th in her category?? Thus my logic on "you cant rely solely on twitter" is proven again. In 8th was last years runner up Emilia Clarke "Game Of Thrones". In 9th Chloe Bennet "Agents Of SHIELD" was just ahead of 10th Lena Headey "Game Of Thrones". In 11th Elizabeth Henstridge "Agents Of SHIELD" narrowly beat out 12th place Ginnifer Goodwin "Once Upon A Time".
The opening day of voting had Ming-Na Wen & Emily Rose in the lead. Day 2 had Wen eventually relinquish the lead to Parrilla. Parrilla would hold the lead till the last 18 hours when Coleman, who was 4th only a day earlier, passed her, then gave the lead back shortly & then regained it with about 10 hours remaining & did not give it up.

The Winner of the 2014 Best Of TV Award for Best Comedy Program is.... The Big Bang Theory (CBS)
Fivepeat for The Big Bang Theory for Best Comedy Program. Now officially, the only 5 time winner in any category. The show about a group of nerdy, socially awkward scientists and their girlfriends has been a hit everywhere for several years. TBBT crushed both the most votes record of 892 & margin of victory 439 that it set last year with an incredible 1,720 votes & a margin of victory of 1,190 over 3 time 2nd place finalist How I Met Your Mother with just 530 votes. In 3rd, alos in its last year is Psych with 526 giving it the shows 1st top 3 finish after 2 4ths & a 5th in years prior.
In 4th was Modern Family up 1 spot from the 5th place its had the last two years. In 5th was 2010 runner up & last years 3rd place finalist Glee. In 6th was 2 Broke Girls, the same place it ended last year. In 7th Brooklyn Nine-Nine in its 1st year of eligibility.
I shudder to think what the margin of victory might be next year with the 2nd & 3rd place finalists this year now retired. This is the 2nd time The Big Bang Theory has swept the Comedy Categories. 2012, the show wont all 3 awards with the exact same 3 winners.
