Bradley James "iZombie" wins the Recurring Actor award, and becoming the 1st non-Supernatural actor to ever win it. The British star had the breif role as the zombie love interest Lowell Tracey for the lead character on the show before his tragic end on the series. Richard Harmon "The 100" nabbed 2nd, and early on looked like he might run away with this, before his moment slowed. Winston Duke "Person Of Interest" was in the finals for his 2nd consecutive year, finishing 3rd this time. Curtis Armstrong "Supernatural" was the only finalist from the show that managed every previous winner of this award, but could only get 4th this year, up from 6th place that he shared last year with an award winner in another category this year. Mig Macario "Once Upon A Time" finished in 5th. Noah Wyle "The Librarians" finishes 6th, Matt Ryan "Constantine" was 7th, just ahead of Lee Arenberg "Once Upon A Time" in 8th. This years winner of Favorite Character is also this years winner of our annual May Madness Character tournament. Samantha Groves - aka Root, played by Amy Acker from "Person of Interest" wins the award this year. Finishing 23rd last year, Root has really made her mark in the past year online. The psychopathic assassin that has turned more good than evil recently was really taken for a ride this year. She started the year by fighting Samaratan as they tried to destroy the stock market, got a kiss from her crush and of course help try to save the life of The Machine. The win my Root is the 2nd in a row for a female character. 4th place finisher this year Felicity Smoak "Arrow" won last year, ending a 4 year run of this years runner up Dean Winchester "Supernatural". In 3rd was a newcomer to the BOTVA finals Lexa The Commander "The 100". Sam Winchester finishes 5th for the 2nd time, and 4th top 5 finish in his 6 years in the finals. Only a 31 vote margin of victory over another SPN familiar face, Kim Rhodes in 2nd, Rhodes held the lead several times as her and Chau leapfrogged each other a few times in the last 3 days before Chau took enough of a lead to not be caught. Joining them are 1st time finalist Christopher Gorham from Covert Affairs who finished 2nd to Stephen Amell from Arrow for the semi-final vote, and Mads Mikkelsen from hannibal, who finished 4th, a spot higher than he finished in the finals of last years vote. While the top 5 from last year all made the finals this year, the bottom half of last years top 10 was not so lucky, only 7th place James Spader from The Blacklist & 10th place Hugh Dancy from hannibal is returning. Ousted were Johnny Lee Miller of Elementary, Matthew Gray Gubler from Criminal Minds and Jim Caviezel from Person of Interest. New to the party besides Gorham are, Paul Blackthorne and Colton Haynes from Arrow, giving them FOUR finalists. Yannick Bisson from Murdoch Mysteries, and Ben McKenzie from the rookie drama Gotham. The Best Action Or Drama Actress category has been the "Stana Katic Award" since its inception in 2011 as the actress from Castle has won all 3 times, making her the only actor or actress to win her award every year since its existence. But this year, it might not go her way if Emily Bett Rickards from Arrow has any say in it. The leading vote getting in the semi-finals had more than Katic & 3rd place fellow Arrow cast member Susanna Thompson combined. Three more Arrow cast made the finals with Caity Lotz in 4th, Willa Holland in 5th & Katie Cassidy in 12th, giving Arrow FIVE finalists. Surely vote splitting will be a major concern for the finalists there, giving Katic a bit of a chance still as she was the only finalist from Castle with Molly Quinn just missing out by 5 votes. Despite the seemingly lopsided rrow & Stana Katic race, there are other contenders. Lucy Liu from Elementary finished 3rd last year in the finals to Katic & Rickards, and comes in this year in 6th in the semi-finals. Amy Acker of Person Of Interest was also a finalist last year, finishing 5th and narrowly made it in this year in 11th. Grace Park finished 6th last year & finished 8th in this years semi-finals. The Best Action or Drama Program category will again look like a fight between the defending champion Arrow & the former 2 time champion Castle. Perennial contender Criminal Minds finished 3rd last year and finished 8th in the semi-final voting to make it 5 consecutive years in the finals, the ONLY Drama to have done so. Arrow fans did not fail this program, as the sophmore action drama takes the top award in the action/drama category for best show to go along with their Best Actor win. With 751 votes the show about a crime fighting vigilante & his growing band of helpers put an arrow thru the heart of defending 2 time champion "Castle" which came in 2nd with 508 votes. In 3rd was "Criminal Minds" with 352 votes. In 4th was "Elementary". In 5th was "Person of Interest". In 6th was "Breaking Bad". In 7th was "Hawaii Five-O". In 8th was "Grey's Anatomy". In 9th was "The Mentalist". In 10th was "Rookie Blue". With the exception of a short lead for "Castle" on day 1, Arrow had the lead throught voting.
