The 2014 Best Of TV Awards Semi-Finals are now Closed. The Finals for the 5th annual BOTVA's will begin in early 2015.

But 1st we need candidates to compete in the finals.

Three consecutive years there has been a different winner for the Best Comedy Actor award. Neil Patrick harris of How I Met Your Mother winning the inagural title, Jim Parsons of The Big Bang Theory winning in 2012, Chris Colfer of Glee winning last years. This year, they go into the finals as the top 3 vote getters in the semi-finals with last years winner Colfer finishing with a massive lead. The likelyhood that this years winner will not be a former winner is pretty unlikely as 4th & 5th are both from shows that the top 3 are from, and finished well back. Perrenial 1st round powerhouse Timothy Omundson, in his characters swan song will take 1 last crack to win, but odds are steep as his co-star James Roday from Psych also made the finals, which will split the limited vote pootl of this show probably. Every finalist from last year is back this year except the late Cory Monteith from Glee. Andy Samberg of Brooklyn Nine-Nine is the only newcomer to the category finals.

The Comedy Actress award looks poised to he another Big Bang Theory showdown with the only winners in the shows history. 2 Time winner Kaley Cuoco looks to defend her 2013 award against her co-star 2012 winner Mayim Bialik. Last years 3rd place finalist Alyson Hannigan from How I Met Your Mother, in her final run at the honour, again looks poised for a 3rd place finish if the semi-finals are an indication. 7 of the 10 finalists last year are back, only Zooey Deschanel, Alison Brie & Cobie Smulders are not back. Orange Is The New Black actresses Uzo Aduba & Taylor Schilling find themselves in the finals, along with Sofia Vergara from Modern Family for her 1st time and Amy Poehler of Parks & Recreation.

The Comedy Program looks poised to stay in the hands of The Big Bang Theory. The only show to win ever Best Show category it is eligible for since the invention of these awards has the inside track on winning a 5th straight with continual contenders Glee & How I Met Your Mother making up the best chance at an upset. Psych in its final run will also take 1 last crack at the title in its 4th & final finals. Only newcomer to the mix this year is Brooklyn Nine-Nine, a semi-finalists in the New Progrma category last year.

The Best Of TV Awards 2013 winner in the category of Best Comedy Actress is Kaley Cuoco "The Big Bang Theory".

After surrendering the 2012 honour to her "The Big Bang Theory" castmate Mayim Bialik, Kaley Cuoco returns in 2013 to take the award. The "every geeks dream girl" Penny on the show has become a hit with many people around the world, and its vaulted Kaley into a level of fandom rarely seen with sitcom actresses. With 525 votes Kaley won handily. Runner up Mayim Bialik "The Big Bang Theory", the 2012 winner finished 2nd with 371 votes.

In 3rd was Alyson Hannigan "How I Met Your Mother" with 344 votes.

In 4th was Jane Lynch "Glee". In 5th was Zooey Deschanel "New Girl". In 6th Kat Dennings "2 Broke Girls". In 7th was Lea Michele "Glee". In 8th was Cobie Smulders "How I Met Your Mother". In 9th was Melissa Rauch "The Big Bang Theory". In 10th was Alison Brie "Community"

Melissa Rauch & Mayim Bialik had a breif lead on day 1, before Kaley took the lead & never surrendered it.

Kaley Cuoco becomes the 1st actor or actress in the Comedy categories to win multiple awards.

The Best Comedy Program, actor & actress categories were dominated by The Big Bang Theory last year. This year could end up the same way.

Best Comedy Program category had very few shocks as the 3X Best Comedy Program winners The Big Bang Theory led voters with 147 votes. Well back in 2nd How I Met Your Mother with 104 votes. In 3rd was another CBS show 2 Broke Girls with 68 votes. Rounding out the top 6 was a 3 way tie for 4th, Modern Family, New Girl & Psych.

The rest of the Finalists are - Glee, Community, Parks & Recreation & 30 Rock

Missing the finals - Raising Hope by 5 votes, Wilfred by 10 votes, Girls by 11 votes & 2010 finalist Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia far back 20 votes out.

Best Comedy Actor category might be on the verge of hits 3rd different winner in 3 years.

Chris Colfer "Glee" led the semi-finals in voting with 201 votes. The 2011 winner Neil Patrick Harris "How I Met Your Mother" was 2nd with 155 votes, last years winner Jim Parsons "The Big Bang Theory" was 3rd with 141 votes. Rounding out the top 5 are the late Cory Monteith "Glee" & Simon Helberg "The Big Bang Theory".

The rest of the finalists are - Jason Segel "How I Met Your Mother", Timothy Omundson "Psych", Jake Johnson "New Girl", Danny Pudi "Community" & James Roday "Psych".

Missing the finals - 2011 finalist Joel McHale "Community" by 5 votes, Andy Samberg "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" by 7 votes. 2011 finalist Donald Glover "Community" was 14 votes back.

Best Comedy Actress category looks like it will come down to a battle of the former champions.

2011 champ Kaley Cuoco "The Big Bang Theory" narrowly led the semi-finals with 100 votes over 2012 champion & cast mate Mayim Bialik with 98 votes. Alyson Hannigan "How I Met Your Mother" makes her 1st finals appearance after coming in 3rd with 83 votes. Rounding out the top 5. Zooey Deschanel "New Girl" & Kat Dennings "2 Broke Girls"
