The Winner of the 2014 Best Of TV Award for Best Comedy Program is.... The Big Bang Theory (CBS) Fivepeat for The Big Bang Theory for Best Comedy Program. Now officially, the only 5 time winner in any category. The show about a group of nerdy, socially awkward scientists and their girlfriends has been a hit everywhere for several years. TBBT crushed both the most votes record of 892 & margin of victory 439 that it set last year with an incredible 1,720 votes & a margin of victory of 1,190 over 3 time 2nd place finalist How I Met Your Mother with just 530 votes. In 3rd, alos in its last year is Psych with 526 giving it the shows 1st top 3 finish after 2 4ths & a 5th in years prior. In 4th was Modern Family up 1 spot from the 5th place its had the last two years. In 5th was 2010 runner up & last years 3rd place finalist Glee. In 6th was 2 Broke Girls, the same place it ended last year. In 7th Brooklyn Nine-Nine in its 1st year of eligibility. I shudder to think what the margin of victory might be next year with the 2nd & 3rd place finalists this year now retired. This is the 2nd time The Big Bang Theory has swept the Comedy Categories. 2012, the show wont all 3 awards with the exact same 3 winners. 1st THE BIG BANG THEORY (CBS) 1720

The Winner of the 2014 Best Of TV Award for Best Guest Star is.... Osric Chau "Supernatural"
For the 3rd consecutive year a Supernatural Guest Star wins this award. Osric Chau, the 2013 Recurring Actor Award winner nabs the 2014 honour for Best Guest Star. Only a 31 vote margin of victory over another SPN familiar face, Kim Rhodes in 2nd, Rhodes held the lead several times as her and Chau leapfrogged each other a few times in the last 3 days before Chau took enough of a lead to not be caught. This is the smallest margin of victory in this category to date. In 3rd was "Agent Of SHIELD" guest Star Lucy Lawless. Another Supernatural guest star, Rob Benedict nabbed 4th ahead of Person of Interest guest star Winston Duke in 5th, Duke held the lead for much of the 1st two days of voting before slowing down considerably. Shockingly, considering the dominance she has had in all her other categories so far this year, Emily Bett Rickards finished a mediocre 6th in the guest star category for her spot on "The Flash" just ahead of Stephen Amell for the same episode. In 8th was "Once Upon A Time" guest star Rose McGowanjust ahead of 9th place Cliff Simon from "Castle" and rounding out the top 10 was a rare 3 way tie with Colin O'Donnell "Arrow", Hugh Dillon "Continuum" & Bob Newhart "The Big Bang Theory" all tying for the spot. Deon Richmond "Psych" nabbed 13th ahead of Natalie Dormer "Elementary" in 14th. Grant Gustin "Arrow" took 15th ahead of Robert Knepper 16th, Michael Rowe 17th & Charlotte Ross back in 18th also all from "Arrow. 1st OSRIC CHAU "Supernatural" 433 2nd KIM RHODES "Supernatural" 402 3rd LUCY LAWLESS "Agents Of SHIELD" 304 4th Rob Benedict "Supernatural" 259 5th Winston Duke "Person of Interest" 224 6th Emily Bett Rickards "The Flash" 194 7th Stephen Amell "The Flash" 103 8th Rose McGowan "Once Upon A Time" 87 9th Cliff Simon "Castle" 82 10th (tie) Colin Donnell "Arrow" 79 10th (tie) Hugh Dillon "Continuum" 79 10th (10th) Bob Newhart "The Big Bang Theory" 79 13th Deon Richmond "Psych" 65 14th Natalie Dormer "Elementary" 63 15th Grant Gustin "Arrow" 58 16th Robert Knepper "Arrow" 55 17th Michael Rowe "Arrow" 41 18th Charlotte Ross "Arrow" 29 The 2014 Best Of TV Awards Semi-Finals are now Closed. Neil Patrick harris of How I Met Your Mother winning the inagural title, Jim Parsons of The Big Bang Theory winning in 2012, Chris Colfer of Glee winning last years. This year, they go into the finals as the top 3 vote getters in the semi-finals with last years winner Colfer finishing with a massive lead. The likelyhood that this years winner will not be a former winner is pretty unlikely as 4th & 5th are both from shows that the top 3 are from, and finished well back. Perrenial 1st round powerhouse Timothy Omundson, in his characters swan song will take 1 last crack to win, but odds are steep as his co-star James Roday from Psych also made the finals, which will split the limited vote pootl of this show probably. Every finalist from last year is back this year except the late Cory Monteith from Glee. Andy Samberg of Brooklyn Nine-Nine is the only newcomer to the category finals. The Comedy Actress award looks poised to he another Big Bang Theory showdown with the only winners in the shows history. 2 Time winner Kaley Cuoco looks to defend her 2013 award against her co-star 2012 winner Mayim Bialik. Last years 3rd place finalist Alyson Hannigan from How I Met Your Mother, in her final run at the honour, again looks poised for a 3rd place finish if the semi-finals are an indication. 7 of the 10 finalists last year are back, only Zooey Deschanel, Alison Brie & Cobie Smulders are not back. Orange Is The New Black actresses Uzo Aduba & Taylor Schilling find themselves in the finals, along with Sofia Vergara from Modern Family for her 1st time and Amy Poehler of Parks & Recreation. The Comedy Program looks poised to stay in the hands of The Big Bang Theory. The only show to win ever Best Show category it is eligible for since the invention of these awards has the inside track on winning a 5th straight with continual contenders Glee & How I Met Your Mother making up the best chance at an upset. Psych in its final run will also take 1 last crack at the title in its 4th & final finals. Only newcomer to the mix this year is Brooklyn Nine-Nine, a semi-finalists in the New Progrma category last year. The Finals for these categories will take place in January 2015 HERE The 2014 Best Of TV Awards Semi-Finals are now Closed. The Finals for the 5th annual BOTVA's will begin in early 2015. It should also be noted that finalist Outlander led the opening round, and has won several other online polls in the last year of note. Despite their mediocre finish in the semi-finals heare, a win cant be ruled out for this internet phenomenon. Of course How To Get Away With Murder & Gotham will also do their best to rally more fans for the finals. The Finals for these categories will take place in January 2015 HERE The Best Of TV Awards 2013 winner in the category of Best Comedy Program is The Big Bang Theory (CBS). Four-Peat. One thing is constant in the Comedy categories, The Big Bang Theory wins the Best Program honour. While the actor category has had 3 winners from 3 different shows, and TBBT has split the best actress honours between two of their lead females, the show just cant be stopped. The group of 4 geeks & a hot girl has branched out over the past few years, and now sees a 7 character cast that seems to be nowhere near the end of its road in its 7th season.
