 The 2015 Best Of TV Awards Winner for Best Youth Actress is Chandler Kinney "Gortimer Gibbons Life On Normal Street". Chandler Kinney "Gortimer Gibbons Life On Normal Street" came in as a write in candidate to win this years Best Youth Actress Award. Kinney finished 3rd in the opening round as a write in candidate, and followed that up in the semi-finals with a 2nd place showing to show she was no fluke. Kinney narrowly won by 6 votes over 2013 winner and last years runner up Maisie Williams "Game Of Thrones" who I will fully admit, I was so sure would win I had already written up a write up a post for her as she was leading by 11 votes with a day & a half left & seemed to be pulling away. In 3rd was another "Gortimer Gibbons" actress Ashley Boettcher giving this childrens show two of the top 3 finalists here. Sasha Pieterse "Pretty Little Liars" was down 1 spot from last years 3rd place finish to nab 4th. Camren Bicondova "Gotham" looked like a challenger after the opening round, finished 5th in the finals. In 6th was Olivia Steele-Falconer "Once Upon A Time". Sophie Tuner "Game Of Thrones" in her 3rd year slips to 7th after a 6th last year. Danielle Campbell "The Originals" hold son to last years ranking as she again finishes 8th. Teilor Grubbs "Hawaii Five-0" sneaks up 1 spot from last years 10th place finish to get 9th this year. Skyler Wexler "Orphan Black" switches spots with Grubbs to go from 9th to 10th. In the three years the youth awards have been around Chandler Riggs "The Walking Dead" has been a contender each year, and each year has moved up 1 spot from 3rd in 2013, to 2nd last year to winning this years award. The young actor who portrays Carl Grimes on The Walking Dead had lots of competition for this years award, but managed to hold off his challengers. Riggs was 1 of 4 actors who had the lead at some time. Runner up Jared Gilmore "Once Upon A Time" had the lead at times early on, and even on the 2nd to last day was tied with Riggs before falling behind. David Mazouz "Gotham" in 3rd had the lead breifly in the 1st day of the vote, eventually being passed by others before making a bit of a late surge to push himself back up into 3rd in the end. Sloane Morgan Siegel "Gortimer Gibbons Life On Normal Street" showed his first round vote lead wasnt a fluke by hanging in with actors from more known shows to finish 4th, and was at times leading thru the first two days of the vote. Ironically, last years winner Isaac Hempstead Wright "Game Of Thrones" wasnt 1 of the 4 leaders, he finished 5th this year, just ahead of the 2013 winner Robbie Kay who was back for his 2nd time, this time however with his new show "Heroes Reborn" he finished 6th. Ross Lynch "Austin and Ally" came in 7th, Tanner Flood "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" nabbed 8th by 1 vote over Raphael Alejandro "Once Upon A Time" in 9th. This years winner of Favorite Character is also this years winner of our annual May Madness Character tournament. Samantha Groves - aka Root, played by Amy Acker from "Person of Interest" wins the award this year. Finishing 23rd last year, Root has really made her mark in the past year online. The psychopathic assassin that has turned more good than evil recently was really taken for a ride this year. She started the year by fighting Samaratan as they tried to destroy the stock market, got a kiss from her crush and of course help try to save the life of The Machine. The win my Root is the 2nd in a row for a female character. 4th place finisher this year Felicity Smoak "Arrow" won last year, ending a 4 year run of this years runner up Dean Winchester "Supernatural". In 3rd was a newcomer to the BOTVA finals Lexa The Commander "The 100". Sam Winchester finishes 5th for the 2nd time, and 4th top 5 finish in his 6 years in the finals. This years winner for Favorite Program, Person of Interest, was not even a nominee last year, and prior to this win had never made it past the semi-finals in 2 previous attempts. The show about a group of people trying to save the world with the help of an almost all knowing machine really has hit the fan favorite stratosphere in the last year for sure. Whether its the bad assness of Jim Caviezel as John Reese, or Michael Emerson as the tech savvy Harold Finch or Kevin Chapman as the crooked cop turned good Lionel Fusco, the show has always had an excellent micture of characters. With the more recent additions of Amy Acker as a regular portraying the clinically insane Root or Sarah Shahi as Sameen Shaw, another trained assasin, to the team the group that fans know as Team Machine has really developed into a force in its battle against the sinister group behind Samaratan. With the shows future is still unknown at this time, the fans of the program have been hard at work in every corner of the internet letting the station that holds the shows rights, CBS, know they are not pleased about it being temporarily shelved. With a shortened season this year POI hasnt even aired 1 episode, and still doesnt have a premiere date for the 2015-16 season. In the first couple days of voting Supernatural had a modest lead, but eventually POI kept pushing thru. The 100 made a very late push generating 200+ votes in the last 24 hrs of voting to move up to fourth but their charge was too little too late to make any real dent into the lead POI had by then. Person Of Interest knocked off last years winner Arrow who finished well back in 2nd, and the former 2X winner prior to that Supernatural who finished 3rd to take the award. In 4th is The 100 in its 1st ever finals. The Flash finished 5th in its 2nd consecutive finals in its 2nd year. The CW nabbed 2nd thru 5th, with a combined 1918 votes between them... just too spread out between its fandoms to topple POI. In 6th is Once Upon A Time for the 2nd year in a row. Lost Girl, the back-to-back runner ups finished 7th this year as the shows fans really didnt come out in nearly as much force as previous years in all the categories. The Walking Dead was 8th this year pulling off a rare feat these awards, improving their ranking for a 3rd straight year. Game Of Thrones came in 9th is up 1 spot from last year. Agents Of SHIELD & How To Get Away With Murder manage a tie for 10th. Agents making its 2nd final after 14th place finish last year, HTGAWM in its 1st finals. For the first time ever, Best Director & Best Episode are a match. Chris Fisher directed the Best Episode winner "If-Then-Else" from Person Of Interest. The 11th episode of the season for POI garnered a lot of attention from everywhere. The comparisons to Groundhog Day, the kiss between the two shows lead females and the suspense of if they killed off a main character or not had a lot of people talking about this episode all year. Mixed in was slow-mo replays that showed the viewers how fast the Machine was thinking through all possible outcomes. Maybe my favorite little gag in it was when the Machine decided the simulation needed to go faster, so instead of us hearing each characters dialogue, we got them telling us a literal description of what they would have been saying. Fisher frequently had to film the same scenarios multiple times, but make them look "very similar, but slightly different" each time. All in all, a spectacular episode all around. His victory comes at the cost of the 2 time winner Jensen Ackles from Supernatural trying for his 3rd Directing award for "The Bad Seed". Both Ackles and Lexi Alexander "Beyond Redemption" from Arrow who nabbed 3rd marking the 2nd consecutive 3rd place finish for an Arrow director, had leads earlier on. Fisher took over the lead permanently in the final two days of the vote. In 4th, for a 2nd consecutive year Thomas J. Wright from Supernatural , this time for "Baby". Garry A. The team, consisting of show creator Jonathan Nolan, as well as Denise The, Greg Plagerman, & many others managed to take this years award despite not being on the air for 1/2 of the year. In 2nd was last years 3rd place finalist Castle. In 3rd was first time finalist in this category The 100. Last years 4th place finisher remained there this year, Supernatural, just ahead of 5th place finalist, last years Winner of this category Arrow. Lost Girl dropped from 2nd to 6th this year, Hannibal dropped from 5th to 7th. Once Upon A Time finished 8th in its inaugural final in this category. The Blacklist creeped up 1 spot from 10th last year to 9th this year. Agents Of SHIELD made the finals for the 1st time in 10th. Game Of Thrones in 11th was down 3 spots from last years 8th. Newcomer Daredevil finished 12th. The Big Bang Theory finished 13th, 1 spot below their 12th place finish a year before. The Walking Dead dropped 5 spots from 9th down to 14th this year. Last years inaugural winner of the Best Stunts awards narrowly defended their award in a pretty remarkable comeback. Arrow wins their 2nd consecutive Best Stunts Award. The team, led by James Bamford and Eli Zagoudakis as the stunt co-ordinators mainly consists of stunt actors Simon Burnett, Atlin Mitchell, Melissa Jin, and many others. Not to mention the shows star Stephen Amell has been known to do some of his own stunts. Arrow wins by 2 votes over Person of Interest, well up from their 9th place finish last year. With less than an hour left, POI had passed Arrow narrowly, then Arrow retook the lead in the last 20 minutes. Definitely the most closely contested award this year. Well back in 3rd was Once Upon A Time in their 1st finals in this category. Game Of Thrones was up 1 spot from last year going from 5th to 4th. The Walking Dead made the finals this year for the first time. New show Daredevil nabbed 6th just ahead of last years 3rd place finalist Lost Girl in 7th. Agents Of SHIELD tumbled along with Lost Girl 4 spots down from the 4th place last year to 8th this year. Hawaii Five-0 dropped from 6th to 9th this year, and The Flash dropped from 7th to 10th.
