The 2015 Best Of TV Awards Winner for Best Guest Star is Enrico Colantoni "Person Of Interest". Enrico Colantoni "Person of Interest" wins Best Guest Star in his 2nd consecutive year of making the finals of a category (Recurring Actor last year). The man who brings to life the bad guy who has a soft spot for the good guys, Carl Elias is officially the first actor on the show to win an acting award for the show. Aleks Paunovic "The 100" had a solid run near the end of voting and moved all the way up to 2nd, coming from 6th with 2 days left. Nate Torrence "Supernatural" had the lead early on in voting, but too much vote splitting by SPN fans cost him a real shot at a win here, and he narrlowly finishes 3rd ahead of 2 other SPN Guest Stars, Travis Aaron Wade in 4th 1 vote ahead of Timothy Omundson in 5th. Emily Bett Rickards "The Flash" finished in 6th, quite a bit further back than I predicted in my guesses for this category. Taraji P Henson "Person Of Interest" was 7th. Ksenia Solo "Lost Girl" nabbed an 8th place spot in her 5th consecutive finals for this character which included a 2nd place finish for "Recurring Actress" just last year. Just behind her was Emily Kinney "The Walking Dead' in 9th. Alex Kingston "Doctor Who" was 10th. The 2015 Best Of TV Awards Winner for Best Recurring Actress is Alycia Debnam-Carey "The 100". Alycia Debnam-Carey "The 100" ran away with this years Best Recurring Actress award. Nearly doubling the 2013 winner Felicia Day "Supernatural" in 2nd. ADC managed an interesting double in this category, as she managed two top 10 finishes, also getting 9th for her work on "Fear The Walking Dead". Her character, earlier in these awards finished 3rd in Favorite Character voting, so it is quite evident that fans of The 100 are really loving her work on the series. Felicia Day won this award just 2 years ago, but, couldnt manage another win, as she finished 2nd this year. Camren Manheim "Person of Interest" finished 3rd. Naya Rivera "Glee" in its last year on these awards got 4th just ahead of Caity Lotz "Arrow" in 5th. Ann Mahoney "The Walking Dead" had massive support in the 1st % 2nd round, but with no tweet from the star in the finals reminding them to vote, she finished down in 6th. Michelle Borth "Hawaii Five-0" was 7th, narrowly beating out Katrina Law "Arrow" in 8th. Shantel Vansanten in her brief run on "The Flash" managed to get 9th. The 6th annual BOTVA's are still closing out some polls for the run off round before we advance to the finals. We've already shattered the previous record for votes in the first round combined. With over 487,000 votes. The 2015 BOTVA's all time record of 575,000 votes in a year. The Semi-Final rounds for Best Recurring Actor, Actress & Guest Star categories took place a couple weeks ago. While the show does have 1 finalist in Curtis Armstrong, it seems like he will certainly have some serious competition this year from others on other shows. A bit of a shocker to me, Bradley James from iZombie led voting in the semi-finals. Ian Anthony Dale from "Hawaii Five-0" was tied for 2nd with Armstrong. Winston Duke from "Person of Interest" a 5th place Guest Star finalist last year, finds himself in the hunt for the Recurring honour this year. Noah Wyle, John Noble, Joshua Jackson and Jon Hamm all find themselves competing in this category this year, all previously were finalists in the main actor categories for completely different shows, in the past. The Best Recurring Actress Category finalists had another minor upset (to me at least) in the semi-finals. Ann Mahoney from "The Walking Dead" a non-factor in round 1 voting where she finished 32nd, led voting this round. Felicia Day from "Supernatural" , the 2013 Winner of this award was 2nd. Alycia Debnam-Carey will have two spots in the finals, one for "The 100" & one for "Fear The Walking Dead". Michelle Borth of "Hawaii Five-0" makes the finals as a Recurring actress this year, after missing out on the finals in the Best Action/Drama Actress category last year. Camren Mannheim led 3 "Person Of Interest" actresses into the finals, along with cara Buono and Annie Ilonzeh. Ksenia Solo, a finalist last year in this category for "Lost Girl" is back with her work on "Orphan Black". Katrina Law, a finalist in this category last year, and caity Lotz, a finalist in the Best Sci-fi/Fantasy Actress category last year represent "Arrow" in the finals this year here. Rachel Nichols "Continuum" makes the finals one last time for her work on the show in its final season, this time in the Recurring category. The Best Guest Star Category was led by the Winner of the Best Action/Drama Actress category last year. Emily Bett Rickards "The Flash" led voting for the same cahracter that won her the most notable actress award last year, this time on a different show. She was also a finalist last year in this category for this very role, finishing 6th. Taraji P. Henson "Person Of Interest" is a finalist for her work with the character that got her a finalist nod in 2013 in the Best Action/Drama Actress field. Travis Aaron Wade, a finalist for Recurring Actor last year is back in the finals as a Guest Star this year for his work on "Supernatural". Another "Suypernatural" finalist is Timothy Omundson, better known as a 3X finalist for Best Comedy Actor for his work on "Psych". Enrico Colantoni "Person of Interest" is back in the finals again after last year being there in the Recurring Actor category. Julian Richings "Supernatural" gets back into the finals after 1st appearing in this categories inagural award in 2011. Lucy Lawless "Agents Of SHIELD" is back in the finals in this category after finishing 3rd in it last year. Stephen Amell "The Flash" also returns after a 7th place finish last year. Grant Gustin "Arrow" also is back after being a finalist last year. Mark Hamill "The Flash" finds himself as a finalist, fresh off his massive 5 second role in Star Wars The Force Awakens. John Noble is a double finalist this year. With his Recurring honour, and his work on "Forever" he gets a spot in this finals too. Ksenia Solo "Lost Girl" is also a double finalist this year. Her Recurring nod, and her Guest Star nod for "Lost Girl", her 5th finals for this show (3 Sci-Fi/Fantasy Actress, 1 Recurring, 1 Guest). Wil Wheaton "The Big Bang Theory" is back as a finalist after being one for his work on the show in 2012. Robert Knepper "Hawaii Five-0" is back for a 2nd time in the Guest Star category, after being nominated last year for "Arrow" and its his 3rd straight year making at least the semi-finals in this category as he did so in 2013 for "The Blacklist" making him the first ever actor nominated in the same category 3 years in a row for 3 different shows. Rebecca Mader "Once Upon A Time" makes it back to the finals for the first time since 2012 when she did so with her Guest Spot on "Fringe". Sarah Bolger "Once Upon A Time" makes the finals for a 2nd time, last being 2013 as a Recurring Actress. Colin Donnell "Arrow" is back for a 2nd straight year for his work on the show as a Guest Star. Bex Taylor-Klaus the 2014 Best Youth Actress winner, is also back for a 2nd time for her Guest Star work on "Arrow". The 2013 Best Action/Drama Actor winner John Barrowman is in the finals with his work on "The Flash". Bob Newhart "The Big Bang Theory" is in his 2nd consecutive finals for Guest Star. The Final round of the 2015 Best Of TV Awards will be under way with some categories soon. Each voting round will last 3 to 6 days.. Voting, and a complete list of nominees in all categories can be found HERE The Winner of the 2014 Best Of TV Award for Favorite TV Character is.... Felicity Smoak "Arrow" After 4 years of Dean Winchester from "Supernatural" as the pollsters Favorite Character, we have a new winner. Felicity Smoak (played by Emily Bett Rickards) "Arrow" won the honour this year with a new record 1,340 votes, surpassing the old record from 2011 of 1165 by Dean Winchester. Her margin of victor of 318 is also a new record, breaking the record of 186 from last year by Dean Winchester. Ms. Smoak has had an interesting year. She had her crush tell her he loves her, was used to help her crush/boss take down Deathstroke, and got a new boss at her day job. Felicity has certainly become a fan favorite in the short time of the show. This was the 2nd year felicity was in the finals, finishing 4th last year & showing she might be a force to be reckoned with someday. Runner up this year goes to Kenzi from "Lost Girl" with 1,022 votes. This is the 3rd year in a row that someone from the show was runner up, after 2 consecutive years of Lauren Lewis being there the fans opted this time to choose a character that died this past year on the show. Last year Kenzi was 14th. After 4 consecutive awards, Dean Winchester "Supernatural" finishes in an unfamiliar 3rd with 822 votes. In 4th is Bo Dennis "Lost Girl" 786, up from the 7th place she was last year. In 5th was Richard Castle "Castle" with 779, the characters highest ever finish was 13th last year. In 6th was Oliver Queen/Arrow "Arrow" up from lat years 11th place finish. In 7th was Kate Beckett "Castle" which is a sharp rise from the 19th she placed last year. Regina Mills/Evil Queen "Once Upon A Time" was 8th, dropping slightly from 6th last year, Hannibal Lecter "Hannibal" finished 9th one spot lower than his 8th place finish last year. Sam Winchester was 12th, dropping from his 5th place spot last year. While Castiel "Supernatural" last years 3rd place finalist, and the only person besides Dean Winchester to be on the top 5 list every yead, dropped all the way to 13th this year. Kurt Hummel slipped to 14th this year after being 10th last year. Emma Swan "Once Upon A Time" in 24th returns to the finals for the 1st time since 2012. Odd statistical anomaly, Amy Farrah Fowler "The Big Bang Theory" in 40th has made the finals 4 times, and has finished last in 3 of the 4 years. With this years finals extended from 25 to 40 finalists, theres quite a few newcomers to the finals. Newcomers to the list this year include... Alaina Huffman "Supernatural"
Alaina Huffman with 624 votes joins the ranks of Julia Maxwell, Rachel Miner & Felicia Day as "Supernatural" alum to win the Best Recurring Actress Award. Just like their male cohorts, SPN has won every single award on the womens side for the recurring categories. Huffman, a repeat finalist in this category, finished 3rd last year. Without Felicia Day or Anna Torv from "Fringe" to compete against this year, she won quite handily ahead of another Supernatural alum Erica Carroll in 2nd with 429 votes. In 3rd, last years 4th place finalist Gillian Anderson "Hannibal" with 361 votes, Anderson held the lead breifly opening day, then was passed by Huffman & never again did the lead change. In 4th was Katrina Law "Arrow" just ahead of "Lost Girl" star Anna Silk in a very shocking 5th. In 6th was last years 5th place finalist, and this years Best Youth Actress winner, Bex Taylor-Klaus from "Arrow". In 7th, another "Lost Girl" actress Ksenia Solo. Finishing 8th was "Murdoch Mysteries" star Arwen Humphries. In 9th was Celina Jade for "Arrow" just ahead of Alex Kingston, also from "Arrow". 1st ALAINA HUFFMAN "Supernatural" 624 2nd ERICA CARROLL "Supernatural" 429 3rd GILLIAN ANDERSON "Hannibal" 361 4th Katrina Law "Arrow" 187 5th Anna Silk "Lost Girl" 171 6th Bex Taylor-Klaus "Arrow" 164 7th Ksenia Solo "Lost Girl" 121 8th Arwen Humphries "Murdoch Mysteries" 90 9th Celina Jade "Arrow" 77 10th Alex Kingston "Arrow" 70 The 2014 Best Of TV Awards Semi-Finals are now Closed. Tahmoh Penikett & Travis Aaron Wade look like they are in a race to see who will will. Of course, if Sherlock fans ever catch on in the finals, dont count out Benedict Cumberbatch, who because of the shortened seasons of Sherlock finds himself in this category without any complaints from his fans. Brandon Routh from Arrow, Curtis Armstrong from Supernatural and Kris Holden-Ried from Lost Girl all seem like they are within striking distance of making a run at the award as well. The Recurring Actress category. Historically known as the "favorite Supernatural Recurring actress" category with 3 seperate winners from the show in the past taking the award may be that again. But unlike on the mens side of the category, there does seem to be someone from outside the show looking to play upset. Katrina Law from Arrow finds herself sandwiched between last years 3rd place finalist Alaina Huffman & Erica Carroll from Supernatural in the top 3. 4th place in the finals went to Gillian Anderson from Hannibal, and she finds herself going into the finals again as a 4th place contender. Last years 5th place finalist Bex Taylor-Klaus from Arrow sneaks into the finals by just 7 votes, making it 3 repeat finalists in this category this year. Anna Silk & Ksenia Solo from Lost Girl made the finals, however last years Best Sci-Fi or Fantasy Actress Zoie Palmer did not because of the voting penalties. I am going to take a moment here to talk about the voting penalties. I had 1 specific person whine A LOT about this. She went thru the trouble of making a long winded excuse why its unfair to Lost Girl specifically and post it on the blog post about the penalties, then when she was proven wrong with my reply, she took back to twitter (where she had badgered me with dozens of tweets PRIOR to the blog post) to bitch & whine about how unfair it is. She then posted a 22 paragraph rant on tumblr, and was again proven wrong with my 37 paragraph reply, and chose to delete my reply from her posts replies. I have no doubt that if this psycho had spent the same time SUPPORTING her favorites, instead of trying to coerce me to ignore the penalties that the shows fans earned, then perhaps the person most impacted by this, Zoie Palmer, would have made the finals of this category. I am quite confident this particular fanbase was capable of scrounging up 60 or so votes, they certainly do most times. To be honest, I thought even with the penalty levied against her, this was still going to be a cakewalk for the actress. Instead, her fans threw a temper tantrum, told people others they werent supporting these awards (like a person with a few 100 twitter followers is a vital endorsement... I dont even think with my 6000 followers I am a vital endorsement of ANYTHING). This 1 particular psycho spent HOURS trying to coerce, bully and defame me to change my mind. As you can see by the results, I did not. Perhaps her, and her supporters, and the fans of THIS SHOW SPECIFICALLY will understand in the future to read rules, and follow them. Instead of, as she put it "ASSUME" things would be how they want them to be. I openly stated I hope these penalties affect at least 1 of the shows candidates from making a finals just to make sure they understand the severity of their punishment... well, they paid for it big time. Choosing the category that they likely valued the most next to best couple to boycott cost them the chance to see their favorite win back to back years in different categories, to be the 1st non-SPN winner of the category. History could have been made. Instead, they whined. Just like Breaking Bad fans did when the show wasnt eligble for the Emmys 1 year, and Fringe fans did last year when their leads were ineligible for the main actor/actress categories, just as Sherlock fans did this year.....wait, correction. I never heard a peep out of ANY of those fanbases over those. Ok, stepping off my soapbox now. The Finals for these categories will take place in January 2015 HERE The Best Of TV Awards 2013 winner in the category of Best Sci-Fi or Fantasy Actress is Zoie Palmer "Lost Girl". The fanbase for "Lost Girl" has show over the years here they are a passionate bunch. Constantly contenders for show & actress awards, Finally, they have their 1st major award here, as Zoie Palmer takes the 2013 Best Sci-Fi or Fantasy Actress award. With the 2012 winner Jennifer Morrison missing the finals, and the runner up Anna Torv not eligible for the award, Palmer, 4th in 2012, was suddenly a serious consideration for 2013 & narrowly won, beating out "Game Of Thrones" Emilia Clarke by 3 votes, 505 to 502. In 3rd was Emily Rose "Haven" which I would consider the 2013 break-out show for making an impact here, with 493 votes. In 4th was Lana Parrilla "Once Upon A Time". In 5th Tatiana Maslany "Orphan Black". In 6th Rachel Nichols "Continuum". In 7th Emilie de Ravin "Once Upon A Time". In 8th Anna Silk "Lost Girl". In 9th Ksenia Solo "Lost Girl". In 10th Lexa Doig "Continuum". Day 1 Emily Rose took a quick & large lead & held on to it thru most of the voting. Day 5 Zoie Palmer took the lead. Day 7 Palmer & Emilia Clarke shared the lead 6 times between them before Palmer managed to hold on in the end. Zoie Palmer win by just 3 votes is the smallest in category history. Previous record was 212 in 2012 by Jennifer Morrison.
